Had my truck hauled there after an afternoon of staring at the engine. The AAA people couldn't figure it out, and Autozone was zero help whatsoever (sold me the wrong parts, twice). It was running the next day after about six hours. Expedient, courteous service.

Mixed review. Good price on tires but lack of knowledge on Tire Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS), Tech did not reprogram TPMS after I bought 4 new tires. Sensor fault light came on. Went back to have reprogrammed and another minor problem repaired. Minor problem was corrected and computer cleared of codes without the Tech checking the TPMS. After 20 minutes of driving the warning light came back on. I identified the faulty sensor and took another rim with a good sensor and asked to simply switch the bad sensor with the good one. After waiting two hours I was told the sensors could not be switched because the sensor band would have to be cut. Obviously the tech does not know beans about the Ford TPMS. Replacement is simple. Remove tire from rim, remove two clips from sensor cradle, lift sensor out. Install new sensor is reverse procedure. Band does not need to be cut. Honestly believe the tech. just did not want to do the job. Made three trips out there and the system still does not work. They might be okay for some things, but working with a customer to resolve a problem is not one of them.

DO NOT TAKE YOUR CAR HERE! I brought mine to this shop because they seem like nice, smart guys. Instead they scammed me! Fixed a problem at an insane price so I figured it would solve it. But they caused more issues leading me to believe they fixed one thing, then broke another to ensure I'd be back. All they want is your last dollar, then more. I will never go here again. It's not a repair shop, its a money hungry, cold hearted garage. I've spent nearly 2000 dollars so far here. And my car is in worse shape than when I brought it in the first time.

Bob Sumerel wanted $500 to replace a starter. We had it done for less than $300 at another shop. The starter (part) was less than $200, Bob wanted more than $300 (they inflate the cost of parts). Labor takes less than an hour. Bob is consistently overpriced.

The most dishonest people I've ever met. Avoid this place at all cost!!! They will take advantage of you and rip you off if you don't know anything about cars. They will take you into buying expensive parts that you don't really need and lie to you to discredit other mechanics.

Would you like fast service? Don't go here. I live close to the Florence location, and my truck never moved from the spot it was left. I was told multiple times they would follow up with me and I never received calls back. I had someone apologize for the delay, and told me they would get me a price quote on parts, which I appreciated the apologies, but I never heard back after that. I have been using Bob Sumerel at many different locations for years and have always had good experiences untill now. I hope my experience was singular, and others don't have the same issues.

Was told not to go here because of price. Went anyway, and yes it was a few dollars more, but the staff was GREAT they were considerate of the fact we were traveling and got us in quickly. The repair, staff and facility were all excellent! Remember, you get what you pay for and we got a great repair!

I called them about a flat tire, told them what tire I needed, they ordered it, I took my car up and they had it finished in about 35 minutes! From calling to it being finished was about 1.5 hours! Great experience!

Charged me over $130 for upper and lower radiator hose each when the hoses themself were just being replaced from over time wear and tear which is an insane amount to pay for hoses when I could buy them for $50 and under and could have done myself vs them charging $159 labor to put them on... As well with the other work that was done they had charged way too much for the amount of work done. On top of that they couldn’t add any verteran doiscounts on with their discount which was nothing at all as one manager had told me they could then another said he can’t do that. I do not recommend at all.

It was the weekend and I needed two tires. Every place I contacted was either closed or booked out 5 hours or more. I had a family reunion to attend and getting tires wasn't really on my planner for a Saturday but my tire decided differently. I finally called Bob Sumerel Tire. They told me they had a two hour turn around but would see if they could get me out and to my reunion a little quicker. Honestly, two hours would have been fine for me. Instead, I was back on the road in 90 minutes. As far as price, they beat everyone else's price, including some of the used tire places. I would recommend them. I also got a small discount for being a AAA member. I will go there again.

A couple of weeks ago I contacted several local tire companies trying to upgrade the 6 tires and wheels on a 5th wheel toy hauler trailer. Of the four tire companies I contacted, the folks at Bob Sumerel were the only company willing to go the extra mile to find the special tires/wheels and order them for me. I dealt with Steve and was impressed with his knowledge as well as his attention to detail. He called me back numerous times and we exchanged probably 10+ emails over the course of the two week period. He clearly was interested in solving this problem for me – and did so at a fair price (I checked pricing online for these same tires/wheels and Bob Sumerel’s price was competitive). In my view you can’t ask for more from a business. Highly recommend these guys. They know what they’re doing and treat you right.

They ruined my 2008 Acura TL's engine. I had them replace my timing belt around 100k miles, which is what you're supposed to do. Unfortunately, the belt tensioner was not installed correctly and suddenly popped off while I was driving it days later. This caused the water pump to stop working, causing the engine to overheat, which then caused a head gasket to blow. Ironically, this means that I now had a ruined engine because I had brought it in and paid $1007.60 in preventative maintenance so that it would NOT be ruined. I brought it back to the shop and asked them to diagnose what exactly was going on with the constant overheating, suspecting it was a blown head gasket. They confirmed that this was the issue and recommended I get the engine replaced. When I called back to settle the diagnostic service, everything had been 'erased' and I no longer owed anything. This was their way of brushing everything under the rug and not owning up to the fact that they are responsible to pay for the engine's replacement. Note that I had been going to them for years, but at this point, I HIGHLY recommend NOT doing business with them. My car is ruined and I still owe on it. What am I supposed to do?!

Friendly and prompt service. We needed our tire repaired after a nail puncture. When we arrived, we were told a timeframe and they were exactly right. Tire was fixed and the spare was placed back in our trunk. Cost was a little more than other places ($30) but it would have taken a lot longer elsewhere.

I'd recommend these guys to anyone. About halfway from ATL to DTW the engine blew in my '09 Charger. I was flabbergasted and angry. I called AAA to get a tow and they recommended Bob Sumerel as the local AAA service center. Not knowing anything about the local auto shop scene, that's where I went. I was 500 miles from home and still had another 300 to go. All things considered, Charlie was a pleasure to work with. He called me at every step to keep me updated on progress and get my opinion as we drove the rental car on to DTW. While I certainly wasn't looking to get a new engine, Charlie and the crew at Bob Sumerel made it as pleasant an experience as it could possibly be. The best part is they got the new engine ordered, delivered and installed in time for me to pick it up on our way back through Florence as we headed back to ATL without having to rearrange our schedule at all. Thanks, guys. I truly appreciate your help.

I needed 4 new tires before a long driving vacation. The price and service were superb. Troy made sure I had the correct paperwork to get a $70 rebate to make the price even better. While waiting I noted that Troy dealt with a rather rude and condescending customer with professionalism and courtesy. They have full service AAA travel information on site, so you can research your next road trip, or plan your next vacation while you wait. Highly recommend Bob Sumerel, and especially this location.

I will give them the friendliness but the actual work done was lacking. I have taken a couple cars there on multiple occasions and usually the work, service and cost was satisfactory. This last time coming in however was not. I needed and oil change and a couple tires checked for air leak. One of the tires was fixed but they claimed nothing was wrong with the other one and I know there is cause I have to keep putting air in the tire almost every day or other day. That's a red flag right there, yet they said they didn't see anything. I don't think they even took the tire off to look at it. I also had an oil change done and the cost seemed way more than when I previously had it done. It was 69.99 and I had it done prior with them for much cheaper than that. Maybe they used a more expensive oil or something just to get a higher charge out of me. Either way I don't want to make it my last experience with them but I was not pleased with this last service with them.

Could not come close to matching tire discounters price on an oil change, told me tire discounters must have mischaeged me ( 3 times) since they could not match the price.. however they would do the oil change for half price if I bought a AAA membership! This place suck my dad went there to get a new battery because the cars died and he had a jumper cable and his tool box in the trunk AND THEY STOLE IT. i would trust them unless its an emergency but then again tire discounters are awesome so.

Avoid this place at all cost! I was given a quote over the phone for $600.00 to have my ac repaired. I show up to pick up the vehicle, and the bill is now over $1,000!!! The “customer service” people laughed and scoffed at me when I told them that was not the price I was quoted. They said I must of misunderstood, I do finance for a living and know facts and figures and $600.00 is what they told me! Nothing but liars and crooks!!!

They are way to overpriced and the mechanic seem like he was in a rush with diagnosing my car ,he said my tire wont hold pressure because of a crack in my rim but he didnt air it up or anything. He just glanced and made his judgment nice work!My rim always had that crack but he was jumping the gun. Well I guess I have to pay a overpriced diagnostics test on my car that other places would do for half the price and better quality. My engine was covered in coolant and smoking from the o2 sensor but he says it's my water pump. The most common problem with this car is the water pump when it comes to the coolant system so I think he jumped the gun on that also so i mite pay for a part that mite not work but we will see.

HIGHLY RECOMMENDED. My father had a screw in his tire which caused it to go flat. He called and spoke with Jeff. Jeff squeezed us in as a drop in appointment that day. How thankful we were, but Jeff didn't stop taking care of us just by making the appointment. Upon arrival, I was greeted with enthusiasm and care. Jeff was engaging and took special care of the situation as he carefully listened to my problems with the vehicle. Within an hour, the car was taken care of. I chose to wait inside the store; and I was glad I did. The store atmosphere is exciting and pleasing. When I think of customer service, Jeff exemplifies my idea.

A dealer quoted me $1600 to fix the problem I was having with my van. After I did a little research on-line, I took it to Bob Sumerel for a free evaluation and estimate. I explained what I thought the problem may be, and they actually listened!! They looked exactly where I asked, and found a rag shoved into the A/C drainage tube. (Another place I took it for an oil change placed the rag in the A/C tube) The mechanic and Bob Sumerel removed the rag and took it for a test drive to make sure there were no further issues. They did not charge me for this service!!! I will definitely be a return customer

Took my truck in for an A.C. check. And it cost me $500 to fix it. They said I was good to go. "Yeah right"!! It lasted 2 days. I took it back to have them to honor their work and fix it. They said they needed another $500 to fix it AGAIN!! They wanted to do a process of elimination. I said that could cost me a small fortune. That's how they work. Trial and error! It's all about the money to them. Not the customers needs..Not professional!!

This may be old but I thought I'd share. In the winter of 2012 I had a 96 Cadillac sedan de ville. As I drove to the shop I was spraying brake fluid everywhere from a break over the driver's side rear axle. I get to the shop and they tell me it will be a 200 dollar repair. No big deal. As the days went on, 6 I think, I was finally told by the service manager that the tech lied to him and required all brake lines to be replaced. He really stood up for me as a customer and wasn't going to allow this guy to try to rip me off. he made that guy replace all my lines for the original estimate. Good customer service.
