These guys were awesome. Showed up with a golf cart tire that had a bad valve stem. Never had to set foot in the store. Mechanics noticed me pull up and take the tire out of my truck met me and fixed the valve stem within 2 minutes. I will be back in the future if I have any issues.

Bought 4 tires which came with free tire rotation, but when it was time to rotate the tires I was told that I needed an appointment. I didn't need an appointment when I bought the tires. I will never buy anything else from pep boys.

I stopped in to ask about having RV trailer tires mounted, rated E or G and guy at the counter said we can order them but not mount them. He cited they can't do anything with RV rims. Then why is that on the website that you can do ST (Special trailer) tires? Glad we got the attitude before doing any business there.

On April 20,2016 we were on our way home to Canada from Santee SC where we had been camping. My husband were looking for an RV store and was told there was one in Clayton NC. Turned off at exit 97 took 70 west. During this drive my husband noticed our brakes were not working, thought it needed fluid only. Did that but still no brakes. We got directions for a Pepboys right on the hwy we were on. We arrived around 4pm where my husband spoke to Greg and told him we had lost brakes. We had to take our trailer off to look at it and asses the problem. We were told it was a broken brake which could be costly depending on how much work was needed. Parts and work would be done the next day. They were gracious to allow us to park our trailer beside the store and set up camp for the night. Andrew even let us hook up a power supply so we could have coffee in the morning. The Service Manager told us that evening that only one line was effected and should cost around $200 to repair.The work was done the next day and to our surprise the repair bill was only $213...wow amazing!! We are both extremely grateful to Andrew, Greg and his amazing staff for all their help to make this unfortunate incident as painless and enjoyable as possible. Also to get us on way home safely and confident we have brakes again!!! Huge thank you from grateful Canadian travelers who would Highly Recommend this Location !!!!!!! I went to the Pep Boys in Clayton N.C. 27520 and had a Oil Change they never replaced my Oil Cap. The Manager Andrew said it was my fought I must have let the Oil Cap off. This Experience was Terrible I have been going to this Pep Boys since it Opened buying tires and etc. For the Manager Andrew to stated it was my fought and never Assisted me to repair my engine. It's Horrible that Pep Boys would want to Lose my Business over something that was There fought and Terrible Customer Service. Check Your Vehicle before you leave or you'll be on the side of the road or Don't spend your hard Earned Dollars there to have to Spend more money to get your Vehicle Repaired Right!!!

While they were infinitely more competent than the jiffy lube, at my first appointment I told them "no synthetic, no quaker state". The tech said OK, changed the oil, all was good. I came back for a another oil change and this time the guy told me "we only carry quaker state", so the first guy lied to me.

You will not find a better mechanic in all of central/eastern NC. I was having major engine problems with my vehicle and they saw me right away. They were able to fix my engine, and the manager, Andrew, test drove it to make absolutely sure it was okay before giving it back to me. Their staff is always very polite and professional; I've come here many times over the years and have never been disappointed. I've even brought a few of my friends to this Pep Boys and they've all had wonderful experiences. You and your car are in good hands here. If you're worried about prices and customer service like some of these other reviews are saying, don't be. I've been to other mechanics around Raleigh and Clayton that have charged up to $100 more for the same issues. The staff here is much more honest as well than other mechanics I've visited, they never try to haggle me like my previous mechanic. I drive 30 minutes to come here because I know they can be trusted.

The lady at the counter is so rude, it's hard to politely describe my experience. So I'll just leave it at that. I am relatively certain I will never attempt to use this service location ever again. After Further consideration, this location deserves nothing less than 1 star. Congratulations.

Never coming here again. Reasons: 1. Workers that day had one worker impersonate the store manager to make us feel we got a "discount". 2. One of the workers or all that day went through my glove box. We came back to the car seeing its content rearranged and they forgot to clean up after rummaging through it because it was on the side of my seat. Workers present that day per work order summary: Robert Scott, David Munson and unknown additional mechanic. I originally came in wanting an oil change. We greeted David - this employee lacks customer service-and told him what we wanted. He said the store manager today, who was actually Robert Scott NOT Nick Chadwell, gave us a discount and decided not to charge us labor. Everything was explained in a disorderly manner. He then tried to sell us more services because my transmission fluid wasn't red enough. I told him that is ok. He then argued my engine might combust. I said I'm not worried about it-i knew this was a market ploy. Thanks I'd rather risk it-go to a different mechanic the next day than pay 400 that day.

Overall, a great experience. A few days ago I went in for a price on tires. When I walked into the store I was greeted right away. I dealt with Andrew and Chris, both were very helpful, they answered all of my questions without making me feel like I was inconveniencing them. The rest of the staff was also courteous and professional.

I got a flat tire. When I came in. I told the young girl stand at the front desk what's happen. I came out take a look my tire. It was easy fix, just take the tire out then fix inside. But she said " you need change a new tire" it doesn't make sense. Then I went to JustTire and everything perfect.

Clayton has long needed an Honest, reliable good service shop since Goodyear just past 42 East closed 5+ years ago. I've got multiple vehicles from 5 - 16 years old and these guys do a GREAT job helping me keep them running. I appreciate Chris, Greg and all the technicians that do my service right the first time and for a fair price. Don't let my review sway you, just look at how full the parking lot is with repeat customers bringing more work to them and telling their friends!

I was traveling to see my son in the hospital in Raleigh up from the coast of North Carolina, when my alternator and battery died. I was towed to this Pep Boys by my road side service provider. I was nervous about getting my vehicle looked at today, knowing most quality garages are booked days in advance. Upon my arrival they listened to what happened, had a good idea what the problem was, confirmed it and had me back on the road in less than 1.5 hours from the time I arrived. They changed out my alternator, battery and kept me informed every step of the way. Thank you to the entire team at Clayton Pep Boys. They made a tough trip much easier.

My partner's van started making a terrible grinding noise late one Saturday night. It was no small feat finding a repair shop open on a Sunday. We made an appointment online and dropped the vehicle off an hour before we were scheduled. They called, explained what the issue was and made the repairs within an hour and a half for a more than reasonable rate. The clerk inside wasn't overly chatty, but I wasn't there for pleasantries. We'll definitely be back for future service.

Dirty and disgusting lobby. Terrible customer service. Overpriced. My story.... was towed from 405 with my little one. It was scary being on the side of the freeway with a small child. The scheme is they offer $50 To tow your vehicle to they’re shop. I am A single mom, this seemed like my only option at the time to get us safe, Took 5-10 minutes to acknowledge we were even there. The lobby was unorganized and a dirty disaster. The man behind the counter finally greeted me like I was a nuisance.... told him the trouble I had with my car and I Asked when they could look at it. Rudely, he said well not today. Maybe a few days. I thanked him and handed him the keys and found a ride home. I called a few days later and was told it was $1200 and some Change to repair my fuel pump and do an oil change. Thankfully, I called several neighboring shops and was quoted more than half the price of what they were going to charge me. I called again the next day and told him I couldn’t afford the repairs and wanted to pay the tow charge of $50 as a friend was going To tow it to another location for me. He said ok. Well your total is $197 something. What!! I was only told it was $50 to tow it 3 miles. He told me they charged extra to look at it. $150 to look at it?! Seriously! My Mom came to my rescue and helped pay it so They would release my car.... when she called to pay it he charged even more. We are now up to $212.47....never. I will never do business with pep Boys. I will share this review and all the other bad Reviews with my 5000 friends on fb, my family, My friends and my customers. Do not do business here!!!! If I had the option I would do zero stars. Lady to lady, mom to mom. Stay away from pep Boys and good luck with your vehicle.

Stay away FAR AWAY FROM THESE GUYS!!! Went there for a tire repair. Easy in and out job right??? Not so fast!!! Had a few people ahead of me so waited while reading the paper. After a couple of people had there cars worked on, I noticed the manager tried to UPSELL EVERY PERSON BEFORE ME. Your car needs this and it needs that. Then I started paying attention to what he was saying. Actually brought in an air filter that had a very little wear spot from dirt. Told the guy he needed a new one right away to make the car run better. The price of the filter was 3 times what it costs at any auto parts in the area. An oil change for another guy came up with 3 different parts needing replacements. He didn't know any better and said ok. total bill came to $95 for an oil change???????? Then it was my turn. Simple tire plug of a flat. $20 to patch ( a little high but go ahead) Once the tire was off they found another plug from before. Here comes the manager. "We need to speak with you about the tire". When he took me into the bay there were 2 tires sitting there. He said he couldn't fix it again but I had to buy a new tire for about $150 installed. which was the cheapest of the 2. I told him to just fix the one with the flat and put it back on!!! He refused and said I would have to buy a new tire! Remount the tire and I was gone!!! Went to WalMart up the street and they did it for $10 in 5 minutes!!!! Even asked the mechanic about it and said NO PROBLEM as long as they are not leaking!!! NEVER... EVER USE THESE "BOYS" IN CLAYTON!!!!!!!!!!!

I got my car there for overheating issues and paid 400$ for it and after couple weeks started overheating again, I went to Auto zone and they stated that it is the same problem that happened before so i went back to them and asked them to re fix it and they said that they will but with other 500$, they are cheaters my advice to not let them working on your car take somewhere else.

I went in to buy windshieled wiper blades. They had a bunch of Rain-X brand with sale stickers on them, some single blades which looked to be rear blades, and some that had two blades packaged separately but bundled together with a rubber band and priced with a single sale sticker. I wasn’t sure if it was a good deal, so I googled the blades and found a similar price package at a nearby Walmart that included one rear blade and two front blades, Rain-x brand, for $35. This pricing seemed similar so I purchased the blades. The clerk offered to install them, and tried to. Front blades were installed but he removed my old rear blade and then told me he couldn’t intall the rear blade because my wiper attachment was damaged. I got home and opened my email reciept and found that I had been charged 21.99 for EACH front blade, and 16.99 for the rear blade, for a total of $61 for blades that were supposedly on sale. I called to ask if this was correct and was told that it was. Idiotic and misleading display and packaging, and not very good service if they can’t even put my original wiper blade back the way it was before I came in. I got a tire estimate as well, which was really high compared to other estimates. The guy tried to make me think my tires were about to blow which simply is not true. Will be sticking with Les Schwab.

Completely hacked up my wheel alignment, it was suppose to be a 4 wheel alignment the only thing they adjusted was the toe. Don't be deceived it is easy to cheat the equipment so they can give you a piece of paper showing all is good. It was far from. Took it to a reputable alignment shop and the got great humor out of it. It came with a 3 month warranty, who are they kidding

Highly recommend this place! I stopped here an “emergency“ situation. I don’t live in Clayton, but was passing through. Started to rain heavily and my wipers were not functioning. This issue is not something that they had the parts to complete here. Nevertheless, they went the extra mile and applied rain X to my windshield so that we could get home safely. Very friendly service! On top of all this... the service person didn’t want to charge anything, just wanted us to get home safe. This level of caring is rare! Please shop here... this place is an asset to the community!

Typically have all of my services done here but never again. Totally scratched up the side of my vehicle and then told me it happened before they started service. Even showed me pictures of the truck they took before service. Anything to let me know I was wrong and they were right. Didn’t offer an apology only how right they were. I have 4 cars. Only drive the truck to pull the camper. This vehicle sits in the driveway for weeks at a time with a cover over it. I would have seen this scratch before dropping off. I mean you can’t miss it. If they had handled differently I would not be as mad as I am now. You can take pictures at any point of service. Was not happy when leaving at all. Never again.

This place has OFFICIALLY lost me as a customer. I was bringing in my car and my mom's car for regular oil changes. In the last 5 months, Pep Boys has messed up on small things. 1st they did the wrong oil change on my car. 2nd they told me the wrong spot on where the exhaust leak was, and 3rd was today, when they charge me additional money for my inspection after I was told that I wouldn't have to pay any additional fees...$6.25 for a "passed inspection sticker". Hopefully, they will get it together soon.

I had to wait 3 hours to get my brakes changed. When I went up to them to see if my car was finished they told me it had been finished, but nobody had bothered to tell me. I got to my car and they left a ton of trash in it. They have been unfriendly to me each time I have been in there, always take way longer than they say they will and have cancelled appointments I have made online twice now after I’ve gotten off work early. Go to Meineke or literally anywhere else.

Girl had no idea what she was talking about. Told the lady that wanted a headlight changed in front of me that if she had high definition headlights that it was going to be extremely costly. Obviously meant HIDS(high intensity discharge). Didn't know how to test a car battery, told me they quit making batteries for a 2005 Chevrolet truck. Asked the tech the if he had a jumpbox and he looked at me and said "um, what's that". This was a joke!!

I have been to this Pep Boys twice and had a wonderful experience both times. I set up the appointment both times online and was in and out of the store in 30-45 minutes. The first time I got new tires (2) and the second time I had my break fluid changed and my air/engine filters changed. They provided fast and professional service. The front desk customer service person was very pleasant and they never tried to sale me something extra or something I didn't need. I will also come here for my car needs.

My wife had an emergency and limped into the parking lot. Nick quoted 1113$ for a new radiator and parts and labor. That seemed high, so I called a few places, another Pep Boys quoted 700$ and several others, even lower. I called back and asked why there was a huge discrepency and was told by Nick "thats the number I came up with" Muffler King down the street did the work for 490$. Shame on you Nick, it sure feels like you tried to take advantage of us.

Been here for tires 3 times in less than 2 years, brand new tires from pepboys keep cupping. I keep having to buy new tires for a special "DISCOUNT", not, ripoff! Avoid this place at all cost. The last time they tried to get me for shocks too. When I brought to my regular mechanic they said the shocks were not an issue at all, and pepboys was being fraudulent. AVOID! AVOID! AVOID!

Showed up 10 minutes before they opened needing a simple tire plug. Employees didn't come in until 8:57. Milled about for 5 minutes before unlocking the door late. Then when they unlocked the door, they pushed it open then slammed it in our face and rushed inside to the back instead of holding it open for us. Finally after they played around on computers for a bit longer, they were ready to "help" us. We were the only people there, yet was told it they couldn't do the plug unless we wanted a really long wait because they had other things ahead of us. Absolutely zero customer service.

I enjoy going to this Pep Boys and I just had my second visit to put tires on my second car. Service is good, people are great. Price was what I expected tried to up sell me to a different tire but my choice was set in stone from reading reviews on certain tires and also getting a referral. Tried to quote me on new rotors and brakes which I had already known about and was going to be replacing that week which I had previously told them. Other then that the management is good, and looks like a smooth running shop.

Hands down, the best customer service I have ever had when dealing with my car. The staff at Pep Boys were knowledgeable, friendly, and efficient. I want to fix my A/C, they took 5 hours to see what's wrong. After 5 hours they denied service saying that they are busy. This is the second time I am going. They didn't take the plastic that they use as a seat cover. I didn't get fixed my A/C. As a common man by looking in to it I can say compressor is bad. because my relays are good, heater is working, it has a refrigerant as they check 1st time. There is no power to compressor. Any one with little knowledge on car can say that the compressor is bad. I never go back and they took 5 hours.

Out of town and my 2002 Jeep Grand Cherokee was making a loud growling clanking noise. Called Andrew at Pep Boys and from 8am till 5pm my A/C Compressor, Cooling Fan Clutch and A/C bypass valve was repaired and ready to go from Mechanic Jimmy. They got me out of a jam and the Jeep is running great! Thanks!

The lady in the front had an attitude the whole time. We went to get new tires put on but somehow end up with our brake lights not working. Not only that, they don’t clean up after themselves, grease was all over the car. Even after we told them about it. Never again will I take any of my vehicles here.

Never in my life have I seen a business brimming with the incompetence that this PEP BOYS has. Not just the employees but the management as well. I have had problems with this Clayton nc location twice now. There won't be a third. The first time they changed the wrong tire. Then today 12-30-15 I called about a tire. They assured me they were in stock and I could get one installed immediately. I get there and they say it will be about 30 minutes and tried to sell me an extra tire I didn't want. After waiting an hour (the manager called me a liar on this even though I was there before he got there) they tell me I can't have the tires. They are for someone else. They said they could order them or I could drive to the store and pick them up myself. I asked why couldn't they put one on my truck and they go to the other store and get another tire since its not that far and I didn't want to drive with a bad tire. They said no. Luckily JUST TIRES is right across the street. I went there and got a GOODYEAR installed for only $10 more than PEP BOYS wanted for a DAKOTA DAFINITY. 20 minutes later I was on my way. I would still be waiting at PEP BOYS

The workers are welcoming and very helpful. They try to get you in and out as fast as possible but make sure they complete the job accurately. I walked in because my low tire pressure light was on they got me in within 5 minutes and discovered a nail in my tire patched it up and I was ready to go.

My wife and I had the unfortunate incident of getting a flat tire, and the spare was flat as well. Had the car towed to Pepboys and Chris took great care of us. He totally understood that this car was on its last leg anyway, so we didn't want to spend a lot. We just needed something to get us back on the road safely for another year or so. He recommended a decent set of tires and found an underlying problem that caused them to go flat in the first place. Then at the end of it all, he was able to find a 10% discount code for our entire order, which helped out immensely. Overall, prices seem slightly high but they make up for it in convenience and customer service. Highly recommended!

I used to always come to this one when I needed an alignment. The past two times I have been I was told it would be atleast three days from a young girl. Well, my friend works at this one and I trust him with alignments. Since, most people never get them right. He saw me as I was walking out again for the last time. He told me that he had nothing to do. Yet, it was going to be three days for a 20 min alignment. Needless to say the I don't care attitude from the female service writer has steered me away from the Clayton store. I called the Garner store and Jason up there said 30 min wait so I brought it there. Like every other time Clayton has pushed me away.

Took my 03 Corvette there this morning. Had an appointment and had taken it there previously. Now the acting manager says they don't do Corvettes. Something about needing a drive on lift. News to me. Why didn't they call me? They sent me notices about my upcoming appointment. So, never again. Avoid this place.

Went in for an alignment, tried to tell me my rack and pinion was shot and needed replaced.. never lost an .oz of PS fluid of had any other issues.. took it by another shop and .... no leak.. while i was there caught the service upselling every single customer with other issues.. from lights that are out to headgasket leaks... this place is a scam shop.. they might do good work but be prepared for the inevitable upcharge.

About a month ago my girlfriend went to have her car repaired. I believe the mechanic that helped her was named Tom or Tim ? Long hair young man she said. She said he was very nice and knowledgeable about what exactly had to be done. She found him to be quite honest and willing to help her immediately. Car is running great and we will continue to use this place in the future. I do not understand when I read other reviews that say the place is dishonest! Maybe they go to other places and those people try to put the Pep Boys down when they are the real crooks! :-) Thanks again, Tom or Tim!! You are an asset to that business .

Had a nail in my car tire. I removed the tire and rim and brought it to the Walmart on 42 and told me they weren't taking anymore customers at 11 am this morning. Went to Walmart on 70 in Clayton and they told me they were short handed. Stopped at the Pep boys on 70 in Clayton and Andrew told me they were booked up. I let him know that the tire was purchased in his shop. He told me he couldn't do it right away but would have done for me by day's end. Came back at 4:30 and he had it completed like he said he would. Thanks Andrew, you are the man. I appreciate you keeping your word. Nice talking with you today...

I believe in commending folks for a job well done. We had a very pleasant experience at the local Clayton store today. We noticed our "check oil" message was on when we started the car. We had just had our oil changed a month ago by Pep Boys so we weren't too worried but decided to let them check it out. A nice young man, Chris, greeted us immediately & explained perhaps all that was required was a reset. He took the time to personally reset it for us. Within less than 5 minutes, we were on our way. It was a relief to know there was nothing seriously wrong and no dreaded major expense since we had just replaced our tires on both vehicles recently. Thank you, Chris for taking care of us. I brought my truck to Pep Boys to get a second opinion on some work that "needed" to be done to my truck. I was told by the other shop that my bearings needed to be replaced. After the Pep Boys team inspected my truck they confirmed that NO work needed to be done! Saving me about $600.00+. I just want to thank Jimmy and his team for being so honest and professional. I highly recommend this shop and I will be returning in the future.

Unfortunately, they practice the somewhat widespread practice of quoting one (low) walk-in price on the phone and then charging nearly double once the customer is through the door. In this instance, despite being clear on the phone that it was a 6 cylinder engine (which requires more oil), the phone quote was ~$55 and ended up being $100 + tax once on site. A quick on-the-spot discount of $20 materialized. Still disappointing, won't be back.

I got a flat over the weekend. I found the tires I wanted and these guys were able to get them delivered and installed same day. Best service out of all the places I called. Nathan was nice and very easy to work with. I also accidentally agreed to an alignment - this was my mistake. When I realized this after the service was performed, they recognized it was an accident and didn't charge me for it. Definitely a classy move on their part - my signature was on the quote and I was willing to accept it but they took it off. Great service and I will definitely be back and would recommend them.

My Alternator died on a Saturday evening with nobody open to look at it. I had it towed to my local Pep Boys and left it for early bird check in. They opened at 9 am Sunday morning (one of the few places that do). I called around 9:30 to make sure they got the SUV and would be able to work on it. Being a Ford Escape 6 cylinder the alternator replacement was a difficult job. There is no easy way to get to it, and it best removed from under the vehicle. I was quickly told what the estimated cost might be and how long the work should take. They thought that they could get it done before the end of the day (at 4 pm). I called back around 3:15 to check on the progress and Greg told me they had already finished it. I hailed an Uber to get there before closing and pay my bill. The cost was exactly what they said it would be, and the work was done well. My truck was also inspected for other problems (it's 13 yrs old) that I wasn't aware of. But there was no pressure to get it all fixed. I'll bring it back again when I got more money. Overall they did a fast and good job fixing a major problem for me, and now I can relax and make my commitments without having to rely on other transportation. Thank-you Greg and team for turning a huge problem into a small molehill.

When they found a couple of maintenance issues they were patient and explained why each of the pieces was necessary, how they found the issue, and what the potential consequences were for fixing/ignoring the issue. Complete waste of time. I scheduled an oil change and NC inspection the week prior, and received a phone call from the store the night before the appointment to confirm. I show up five minutes before my appointment time only to be told when I check in that they "don't know how long it will be until we can work on your car, since we have 10 appointments at 9AM, and only 6 bays....." "We get people in on a first come, first served basis." What is the point of letting customers schedule an appointment in the first place if you have no intention of honoring it? Why allow more appointments to be scheduled at a given time than you have the ability to service? I get that people might cancel, but in any other business, that is where walk-in customers fill in the gaps. The attendant at the desk then asked me if I would like to re-schedule..... Seriously? Why would I re-schedule to have my time wasted again! If the customer service is that bad, who knows what the workmanship is like in the shop itself...

Really good service. The people who work here have always treated myself and my car well. The staff are communicative and work quickly. There have been times at other car repair shops that I have had to come back in to get my car reworked after a poorly done repair, but this has never happened here. They have great deals on tires and I have never found myself being overcharged or taken advantage of. They do the work and they do it right. Couldn't recommend the Pep Boys on 124th any more highly!

This is by far the best car care business in the area. I lived in Clayton when this shop fist opened and the staff can't be any better. I didn't want to wait around and the manager drove me 5 miles home and was super nice about it. If you go to the shop ask for Gregory he will take good care of you and do you right. These guys don't rip you off and they bend over backwards to make you happy. We ended up moving to Raleigh and I still drive all the way to Clayton for service. They take care of all my vehicles 1) Tesla Model S 2) Jeep Wrangler 3) Audi SQ5 4) Kia Soul (daughters) 5) BMW (sons) Don't take your car anywhere else, this is the only shop I'll go to in the area period!

The lady I checked in with was simply wonderful! Great customer service. I've been there twice now for oil changes, and each time they have let me know nicely of (minor) things to look after, no pressure to fix anything then and there. If I do end up needing repairs, I am definitely coming here. Each person I've interacted with seems down to earth and helpful, not trying to just get an extra buck. Great experience! Update: still an awesome place! I have an older vehicle, so there's been more recommendations for upkeep when I take it in for oil changes. Still zero pressure to rush into fixing something then and there, but I'll probably be making another appointment soon for a couple of their recommendations that I can't do at home. They have some really kind people working here! Always a good experience- this time I was only there for half an hour max! Also, I love how you can book things online super easily - I've had zero problems with the process so far. That's rare!!

So this used to be a great place. I guess there are new people now. If you do not want to work on something, just tell a person up front, rather than causing a week of down time for the customer. Maybe it was just I caught them at a bad time. My car had sit for several days (because according to the manager all the techs, save one, were off) and they said they would get it on a lift Monday and check it out. Well I went up that Sunday to get my garage door opener out of the car. I noticed the mud marks on the tires where it had rained and puddled where the vehicle was parked. Well Monday they called and said they looked at the vehicle on the lift and said I needed to take it to a body shop. I told them there had been no impact but the manager insisted I was incorrect. So I decided just to go get the car. Well when I got there the car was parked in the same place as Sunday with the same mud marks on the car in the same position! Why lie? Anyway, took the car somewhere else to get fixed and get tires. Maybe it was just a bad week, but I will never go back.

I called the Honda dealership service department and they quoted me $1200....with all retail parts. What a mark-up! Don't think I'll be going back.

If Greg is there, all is well- a better location you will not find for all your service needs. If he is off, it is pretty chaotic at the service counter. I had to return for a cabin filter a day after paying for it . When I walked in the door, the guy at the counter said, "You are gonna have to leave it here," without me even asking. I couldn't understand why they could not take 10 minutes to put in a part that I had already paid for (labor as well,) and given the fact that we had switched out our cars twice the day before to fit them into their schedule already. It would have been better had they not charged me in advance, telling me that they could "pop the filter" in when we picked up our car the next day. However, I highly recommend this shop, we have been using it for nearly a year and the store manager- when he is available- truly cares about his customers. I think because they are so good, they are probably too busy and to maintain their previous level of service they really need to clone Greg and his manager about 6 times, hard to find folks like that in the world who need a job though.

Jennifer, Pep Boys Clayton is located across the street from Bojangles on Hwy 70. You have to drive behind the CVS drug store to get there. However, I have witnessed what Joe was talking about. I too have been in the car industry since 1990 but don't have a A/C reclamation machine in my driveway so I went down there to charge the A/C system after I replaced the compressor and the manager tried to upsell me on a brake job. I told them to show me. When I got up close even the mechanic admitted that I still had 50% of my brake pads left! Unfortunately as always its a buyer beware society. I feel bad for those who aren't knowledgeable to keep from getting ripped off!

So my wife bought tires from here and got the rotation and alignment service with it. She went back for service and when she left she noticed her car pulling. She saw there was no alignment on the receipt or a alignment paper in her paperwork. She called to be told "Oh it's not up there but they did one". I drove it to see obviously there was no alignment done. I went to the mgr who told me he would take care of it and to set an appointment, so I set one for 9am right when they open. I get there at 850am go in and give them my keys advising them of my appointment and why. Well 940am rolls around and my car hasent moved from the parking spot outside and some other guy came in where his car was pulled in the alignment bay. I asked how appointments work here and my car hasent moved. Well then they went and got my car lol. HORRIBLE HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE!!!! Never again for me and I advise go elsewhere!!

If you want to be overcharged definitely visit these guys. First to put in a EGR value in my wrangler they initially said it was going to be a hour labor at $100 plus the $89 diagnostic which I was fine with basic maintenance let's do it and they also said that if I get work done the $89 will go towards the total cost. I get a call later saying it's going to be 2 hours of labor which I'm across town now so I was like fine $200 it has to be done. I get there and they charge me $300 part of it was they charged a $130 labor rate which is different from what I was told and even though they said that they put the cost of the diagnostic to the bill they increased the labor cost. I called clayton tire and muffler after I got my veichle just to see what the difference was and he quoted me $176. Definitely will never deal with them again unless they are the last mechanic on earth. Will definitely get work from local businesses for now. They wont try and rob you like these guys.

10/10 I was previously at Toyota of Kirkland. They said I must get my brake fluid flushed or risk my safety. They told me $300... I left. Called these guys at Pep Boys: $79. Boom. Get this, I show up, they inspect the car and refuse to do it. Said the food is perfectly clean. That it would be no better eating money changing it. What amazing service! They inspected for anything else on my request and said nothing was needed. They even rotated my tires for free. At this point I literally had to look for something to buy to feel like I was supporting their team! I got some new wipers and they got a lifelong customer. Go here. They're car honest car doctor's with your best interest at heart.

Sorry for your inconvenience front brakes rotors and calipers along with bleeding the system can take approximately 2 hrs but when the wrong parts are delivered and someone goes to pick them up instead of waiting on a slow delivery service added more wait time all in all a total of about 4 hrs this was kept informed to you some things are out of peoples control we strive to be and do the best we can. Unfortunately society has put us all is a fast food mentality we are working on cars and we will not let one go unless it meets are standers of complete and quality control. The 15% discount coupons are scanned into the system and deduct off of services we have no control of that I believe that was a coupon a customer left behind for you for as you did not have on in hand sounds like someone going above and beyond to help out somebody in need sorry for caring.Stop by that location I am sure that some type of correction can be adjusted for a discount malfunction. Keep in mind folks out there in the Google world that there is always two sides to an incident and I as you all will exercise my first amendment rights.

Having taken over from Big O Tire, this location continues to provide tire and auto services. I took a "slow leak" tire in the other day, they did extensive diagnostics, and charged me nothing. Should that slow leak turn into a fast leak, I'm taking my business to Pep Boys.

This is the type of auto repair shop that preys on the customer. Prices are based on how much they can get you for. When they think you have no knowledge of cars the prices increase. They refused to rotate my tires unless I bought new ones from them. Said my tires were "bald" yet they have plenty of thread. My 2016 car just broke 18k miles. My tires aren't bald. I pretended to not know the difference between regular and synthetic oil and the price nearly tripled from the website prices. Didn't even get to inquire on balancing my tires prices before I asked for my keys back. If your money doesn't matter to you....this is the place for you. Test them....play dumb....see the alternate prices.

I went in for a oil change and differential service. The staff was not very friendly, and it seemed like serving me was a hassle. Their services were expensive, and on top of that, they charged a $23 "shop fee" to cover "miscellaneous supplies" that they did not mention before the service. When asked about it, they said it was not an oil disposal fee, it was just something they are required to charge, saying "it's just the way it is." I would expect a business to charge what is required up front instead of charging these absurd fees after the fact. Also, the "complimentary inspection" they provided consisted of a sheet where a mechanic just blindly put "1s" down all of the entry fields. If you're not going to do a service you say you provide for free, that's fine, but don't insult me by rubbing your laziness in my face with the printout--I'm sure corporate gives them labor hours on the back end for this *extremely valuable service* they offer to their clients. They performed the actual requested services well enough, but you can get better service and better prices literally anywhere else in town.

Dropped off at car 10:15 and arrived at 3:00 to see that my car has not been touched. Waited another 90 mins for my oil change and alignment! The reason I dropped off the car and made an appointment was to not waste my time in the waiting area. I had high hopes for this location but now I will be taking my 4 vehicles elsewhere for service. I made an appt to get my A/C checked 5 full days in advance. When I got to the service center, the man at the check in desk did not acknowledge me at all, finally he starts to check me in. While I was giving him my information, he stops me mid sentence and answers the phone and starts helping the person on the phone. Pep Boys is the biggest excuse for an Auto Service establishment that I've ever seen. They are ignorant, and completely over-priced. I will never step foot in one again, even if my car breaks down right in front of them, I'd certainly prefer to walk. They quoted me twenty one dollars and ninety nine cents for the service we asked for, and we walked away spending fifty seven dollars and eighty three cents. Then they say that if we get TWO new tires for FOUR HUNDRED DOLLARS, they'll do the service again for six dollars. Well gee, I'd hope so! Considering the fact I can go RIGHT ACROSS THE STREET and get the tires put on for less than half of that. My father, who has more knowledge about cars in his pinky than these air heads do in their whole bodies, warned me not to go, but I wanted to give them a fighting chance, thinking they were "different now" and "different on highway 70." What jokes. Do people really buy this? I guess instead of doing their research on other places, they just hop right in to get what they need done, and "trust" that it's right. News flash people: It's not. Not under any circumstance. Please go somewhere else. I'm begging you.

My husband and I took our car in today to get new tires. We only planned on replacing two tires, but they found an issue with a third tire. The staff and managers were so generous, they fixed the leaky tire at no charge. We are always pleased with the customer service and care we recieve here!

I have been bringing my vehicles here for service for the past 3 years. I have always got prompt and through service. They always tell you they might not be able to get to your vehicle right away. Then end up contacting you with an estimate a few hours later. I had some work done on a problematic issue, and it wasn't done fully to my satisfaction. So Pep Boys redid the whole job on their ticket, and earned my satisfaction. I'm waiting right now for the call that my van, which I dropped off late yesterday is done and ready to roll. I think they are very fair on their pricing. Auto repair is hard work, try doing it yourself, you will gladly pay for someone else to do it quickly and correctly. Dave ONan

Bought two brand new tires from this location. Several days later one of the tires lost all pressure so I filled it and kept driving. Again, lost all pressure. Took the tire back to hear that they "couldn't find anything wrong" with the tire. So they replaced the core as a precaution which I did appreciate but that didn't solve the issue. Now the second tire keeps losing pressure as well. I have had my rims checked as well by this location and others and also never had a problem until I got these tires. I am now sitting in a different car shop out of town when I should be working. The staff was nice but I feel they sealed my tires incorrectly or somethimg along those lines. One star for the repeat trips for repairs, inspection, possibly defective tires, and my loss of pay due to these issues. I have never had these issues with brand new tires. Usually they are installed and I'm good to go for a looonng time. If the shop I'm at now can find the issue I will be going back to Clayton to have them fix it at what should be no charge.
