These folks were lifesavers!! On our drive from Pittsburgh to North Topsail for vacation, something was up with I-95 and we were led on a detour. While on this backwoods, single lane, gravel road detour, my tire pressure light came on. When we finally found a place to pull over my heart dropped when I saw my tire was totally, completely flat. My husband noticed a puncture and was hopeful we could get it fixed. So, we had to unload the car + 3 dogs and wait in a steaming hot parking lot in middle-of-nowhere Virginia while my hubby changed the tire. He was a real champ. Unfortunately, I have one of those little stubby spares so we weren’t able to go very fast for the remainder of the trip. Tired, cranky, and exhausted, we rolled into our beach house in North Topsail about 18 hours after leaving our house that morning. We woke up early the next morning desperate to get the tire fixed so we could enjoy exploring around the area without being a hazard on the road. EVERYONE at Holly Ridge was so incredibly kind. They were very busy but made time to help us out. They were able to patch—not plug—the tire. Yippee! I hope we won’t need it again, but if anything car-related happens when we are at the beach house again, we will be back! I just wish we had a place like them at home.

Dropped my 1992 Z28 Camaro off last year around February for new rear end gears to be installed along with new bearings and seals in the rear end. I picked it up about a week later only to pay over $400 in labor and to be told that they could not get the new gears to quit howling. That rear end howled so loud that it sounded like a jet was trying to take off at any speed over 35 mph. About two months later I took it to Tony Harker's Automotive to have him do some other work and I asked him to check out my rear end while it was there to see if the howling was hurting anything (MUCH better shop, would recommend) and he told me that they totally set my rear end up wrong and the new gears and bearings I had them put in were trashed (I kinda expected that after what I read online about gear installs). I needed a full rebuild on my rear end, gears, bearings, axles, everything. He told me what they did wrong and that I needed to ask them for my money back. I went back to holly ridge tire and told them what I was told and they basically told me to go f*** myself and had the guy who put the gears in, Mike, call me and tell me he would be willing to help me find a new rear end for my car. So I just bit the bullet and bought all new parts for my rear end and had Tony at Tony Harker's Automotive rebuild it as I was completely done dealing with Holly Ridge Tire and Auto after that, and since then it's been going strong and is dead quiet. Do not go to this shop for anything other than basic maintenance or tires, if you choose to go at all. And if they screw up, they will not assume responsibility for it and will leave you with quite the dilemma to sort out. All new parts for my rear end cost over $1400 before labor. Tony rebuilt it in a couple days for only a little over $100 which is far cheaper than normal. I think he only did it because he felt bad for me. I honestly should've tried for a lawsuit, but I was only 18 years old and fresh out of high school and was inexperienced in legal matters.

I would give a zero star if I could. This place doesn't stand by their product and I have contacted other people about it! We bought tires from them 7 months ago. After six months we had the right back tire blow out. We took the car in and they said we drove on it flat and their was nothing they could do. It wasn't covered and the mechanic made it seem like it was our fault. Then told us it could have happened within 5 minutes of driving on it. So we paid for ANOTHER new tires. Now a month after that the front two tires had low tire pressure. They were riding like the last one had. We took the car back in and they said they found nothing wrong. WE put air in the tires and now today (not two days later) both front tires are low AGAIN. This is ridiculous and we have spent over $500 in 7 months on tires. Now it looks like we need another set of new tires and I refuse to pay any more money for faulty product!

It's very expensive. I had the fuel filter and pump changed for $550, which wasn't the problem. He ordered the wrong pump, which set us back a day. Then they figured out it was the computer, and didn't get the order in on time, which set us back 3 days. On top of all this, they destroyed the wire harness. All this cost $1,450. Not including the money we had to spend to rent an additional house to stay an extra 2 days and cab fares. However, they did finally fix the issue and got us home safely.

I had my upper and right lower ball joints replaced in Jan 2014. I recently had my vehicle inspected by another company in Oct 2014 and they stated my right lower ball joint needed to be replaced. Knowing more than I did 9 months ago, I jacked the truck up and checked it out. Sure enough, the boot ( or rubber) around the right lower ball joint was cracking. I am disappointed in what seems to be clear theft and lack of service charged for. The uppers still look good, but perhaps they did then also. I will take the hit for not knowing more about my vehicle then, but certainly it should be known that this staff in not completely honest.

They were super busy being it was the day before a holiday but they still got me in and out in less than 45 minutes! Honestly Chose this place as it is walking distance from my house. Went in right as they opened and asked for 4 tires mounted and balanced and a Alignment. Got the call to pick it up about 2 hours later and when told the price i was shocked it was only 67 buck so i said wow thats a really good price for an alignment and 4 tires. Thats when i was told the alignment was not done because i didn't ask for it to be. After i said no I definitely said that i was told " well it was pretty busy this morning. But you can wait a few hours till we can fit you in again we are swamped on that side." Wow i need to get back in line, no thanks. Also as far as the tire job goes this place has no attention to detail, my wheels had black grease an marks all over them which luckily buffed out and the was only 25 psi in 2 of the tires. All in all just no care for the customer by these guys. I will definitely go elsewhere next time.

Don't go here for an oil change! My last oil change was with holly ridge. They had to replaced the oil pan too because the drain plug was cross threaded. The plug had been replaced multiple times before because jiffy lube is lazy and will use power tools instead of a socket wrench. I just took my truck in to get an oil change by my hometown mechanic and he tells me that whoever installed my brand new oil pan has cross threaded the plug with a power tool. Honestly, if it's possible I would give this place a Negative 0.5. I had an emergency with my car from over the weekend when I was visiting friends in Sneads Ferry, NC - mind you, I'm from Richmond, VA - 4 hours away. I called twice and the lady who spoke to me on the phone was incredibly rude. I was explaining my situation as of what happened and she literally said to me "I'm gonna stop you right there ma'am." ...like Oh, excuse me? Then she proceeded to tell me that their shop was closed even though according to Google it said that they were opened. She didn't even care to at least give a suggestion of another auto shop nearby that could help me out but kept on insisting that they were closed and made it seem clear that I was bothering her for calling. Terrible customer service. Honestly, if you have car trouble don't bother going here. Give Family Tire & Auto Services on Yopp Rd a try - The staffs there were so nice in person and on the phone unlike this place. I absolutely do NOT recommend going here. EDIT/Response to the reply below: The fact that you even denied of me telling you my situation is even more absurd. The first thing I said when calling your business was explaining my situation, what happened to my car and that I was looking for a particular tire size to be replaced but long and behold I got "Let me stop you right there ma'am!" from you. I never asked what time y'all are closing that day so don't you lie about what you said to me lady. You know darn well you were rude to me. That wasn't an apology. Get your facts straight before you start lying. You were not helpful on the phone at all so just admit it.

Took my husband's 2003 Chevy truck to see what was wrong with the brakes, I drove it 4 miles to their professional shop, it was scary the whole way. The problem could be felt when applying the pedal. Estimate $1100.00. I paid $1221.00 when it was done yesterday. My husband picked it up at 8:00p.m. after a hard day at work. I thought it was right, but he called me on his way home and said that the brakes were working exactly the same as before I took it. Not such a good evening. We heard afterwards that their work isn't quality. Never again! Can't fix the problem, tell us. FYI for anyone new to the area. . Nice respons, but it was a noticeable when driving and your man drove it. Now you say something about more being wrong with the truck, but neglected to call or inform us when you had it at your shop. We must not be the quality people you talk about in your ad.

We replaced all four tires on our Mazda CX-7 I didn't have to wait too long as they had to order the tires. The next morning had them installed and drove away in less than 2 hours. My only complaint is that they do not appear to have handicap parking by the door and I had to walk a fair distance to get my car and leave which is difficult for me.

Fast service at a great price. I went into the shop knowing what needed to be replaced. After describing the symptoms, they concured with my diagnosis and started working on my car right away. Both front rotors and pads were replaced within an hour. No strange "this part and that part are also bad" when it was done. Kudos to this shop and if I have future service needs I will start here.

I was overcharged to turn two brake drums. They charge $40 for around 6 minutes worth of work. That would have been fine if they would have called when the work was complete, but they let the newly exposed steel sit outside of their front door for the rest of the day. Well, i guess I'll take the good with the bad, abd the bad is costing me about 500 more bucks to fix. First off, they did an excellent job on my car. They also did work to my truck ( tires, alignment, and a tie rod) this spring. Around August i noticed one of my front tires was wearing funny. Took truck back and was told it needed another alignment. They rotated tires but kept the 2 fronts in front. I got the truck back and anythong over 60mph the steeting wheel shook violently. I called to complain, but was told that big tires never ride completely smooth, so i figured the uneven wear was the culrit. While i was getting an unrelated repair done a month and a half later i was notified that i had a passenger tie rod about to fall apart, but there was no alignment available from this shop. I was also notified that i had wires showing on my front tires from cupping, and the tires only have 10k on them!!! I had to replace the front tires again and this is the 3rd alignment this year i have had to pay for. I was also fed some B.S. about potholes, I lived in Maryland for 12 years and never needed an alignment until i had my truck in this shop. Now Mobiletech is trying to reverse what my truck has been through this year. So basically, i was charged for the second alignment, and it was done despite a faulty tie rod on the passenger side of the truck. Thanks, i love spending money just to spend more money. Who doesn't?

These guys do a lot more than just change tires. I had them replace the rear seal on my truck, having come in without an appointment. They took me in immediately, verified the bad seal, and then the lady gave me a lift home. Later that afternoon, they came back to my house to give me a lift back when the work was completed. I note the Surf City Police Department gets their work done there. I consider that quite an endorsement, as they have choices. Every time I've dealt with this fellows I've left satisfied that my vehicle was fixed correctly and the price was fair.

I've had business with Holly Ridge for many years... always with good results until this visit. I know you can't know everything about all the different types of tires so i will base this review accordingly. I specifically asked for a set of tires that handled well and quietly on the road. What was recommended was Hercules brand so that was my purchase. I dislike this tire immensely. I paid over$550 for a set of tires that are not only loud but are a very rough ride. It's embarrassing to have passengers in the car. Now I'm stuck with them. I will be sure to keep them maintained as I can't afford another set for a long time. Unexpectedly broke down when we came down for a beach day. They picked us up within 35 minutes and worked us in. Luckily it was an easy fix and we were in and out of the shop in just over an hr with a friendly smile and reasonable price tag. Best part was, were still able to salvage the rest of our beach day! BEWARE F ON SATISFACTION AND CUSTOMER SERVICE!!! Our experience from start to finish was riddled with issues. We asked for the oil pump to be changed, however that was not the service we recieved. The mechanic determined the oil pressure switch was bad and the truck had no other issues regarding the oil pump. The mechanic was WRONG as the truck oil pressure tanked on the drive home.

They actively look for ways to help you save money, there are zero pushy up-sells, and they're all just genuinely nice and helpful folks. Oh, and they're FAST. Need an oil change? 20 minutes. Need an inspection? 20 minutes. Need tires on a super busy day? I think the longest I've EVER waited there was about 45 minutes. Comfortable lobby with plenty of snacks and drinks. Even if I could save $20-$30 elsewhere, and that's very rarely, I still choose to go here because the quality of service is consistent and dependable. I've lived in a lot of different places and I've never found a shop I loved this much.

Always very fair on price and I have never had them fix anything that does not need fixing nor try to go the most expensive solution. I am a mechanical engineer and I work on classic cars a lot, so I know what is wrong and what is not and what it takes to fix it and they always come back with a similar diagnosis and repair. I have been using them for our vehicles that we leave at the coast for many, many years and never been disappointed.

These guys are great. I've been here for multiple services (new tires, tire rotations, oil changes, AC issues), and they're always very speedy. They may not be the cheapest place around town, but they are far from the most expensive and seem to be worth every penny so far.

They always went above and beyond the call of duty to help me out, including towing me and my car to the shop when it broke down - saved me the enormous bill and two hour wait that my roadside assistance program stuck me with - actually I think Holly Ridge Tire Pros towed me for free (or such a minimal charge that I can't remember) and fixed my car right away. Another time that my car broke down, one of the employees drove me all the way to Wilmington so that I could still make it to my class at UNCW while they fixed my car. We always got reliable and honest service there, and I really miss having that assurance now that I've moved out of state. Keep up the great work!

man took my truck, tried to say i needed a new motor bc he cant fix a blown head, then charged me nearly 200.00 for a tow, i live on the same block half a mile from the shop, and to look at it n tell me he cant fix it. i shouldve listened n not went to this man. tried to tell me a rebuilt engine would cost me 4,000.00 and im about to purchase one certified rebuilt for 1800. TO ADDRESS THE REPLY: i said nearly 200 for a tow and to tell me it was locked up. i live less than a half mile from the company i was charged 35 there n 35 back n 86 bucks to turn the key n call me, total of 171.00 pretty close to 200, and i said nearly 200, so i deceived no one. You also never mentioned labor or a warranty for the engine so you sir are being deceitful. By the way its in a shop down the street now being fixed, also told me the 4,000 engine was certified rebuilt not new. i dont need to explain further people in town know not to use you.
