I started off my day by getting in my car to head to work. I soon realized I had a screw in my tire that had caused it to go completely flat causing me to be late. It was one of those days where nothing was going right. I ended up looking for a tire repair service on Google which lead me to GW Tire Service. I took my car to them and they were able to start the tire repair within a couple minutes of arriving. The two gentlemen I spoke with had great personalities and joking around with them already improved my day. Within 10 minutes they had my flat tire repaired, installed on my vehicle, and put my spare tire back in the trunk. They ended up doing the repair free of charge although their prices were already low. Whether it's because they were trying to improve my day or because it was a discount of some sort; I don't know. I made a point to go shake their hands to thank them for their tremendous help. Either way they had awesome customer service and did their job perfectly and quickly. They have without a doubt earned a lifetime customer. I highly recommend anyone that needs any vehicle maintenance they provide to check them out!

Went here for a simple oil change that I should have done myself because it ended up costing me $1,000. Not long after leaving the shop our car started smoking and there was an obvious burning oil smell. I gave them the benefit of the doubt that they just spilled some oil when completing the oil change, but it continued to worsen as well as leave puddles of oil wherever I parked. After bringing the car in 4 times and them telling me they "fixed" it and it was just "residual" oil that was leaking, they finally had the nerve to call me and tell me that the oil filter housing was cracked (which I already knew because this is what I was telling them the whole time, due to the mechanic over tightening the oil cap) and that it would cost me about $700 to fix. They were willing to work with me on this issue until they realized it wasn't an easy fix. They blamed the issue on it being a known issue that this happens to Jeep/Chrysler engines, which would be acceptable, but my car went into the shop with zero issues and left leaking oil all over the place. Seems like common sense to me, but I am told it was a huge "coincidence". I guess I'll start playing the lottery with those odds.

One of the best shops I have gone to, they explained what they fixed and why. After going to another shop 3 times for the same issue, GW correctly fixed it for 1/3rd the price of the others. This place is very professional and knowledgable. I took my truck to them after a horrible experience with another shop and they did an amazing job. I hate buying tires. It's one of those experiences where it's easy to feel taken advantage of, but with snow in the forecast I couldn't put it off any longer. I had called a few places, and wasn't happy with the qoutes, but I was on my way to do some shopping when I saw the shop, and figured I'd give them a try. They qouted me a reasonable price on good quality tires, got me in and out without an appointment in 45 minutes including oil change and provided a clean, comfy waiting room for the duration. They had a mini fridge, a Keurig coffee maker, water cooler, and cable TV to entertain. They even gave me a military discount on an oil change. Will definitely return to this establishment.

Went here after having an issue with 2 different Firestone stores claiming there is no way to warrant a Firestone tire not purchased at their specific stores. And that even to get me a tire it would take 2 weeks just to get delivered. Talked to Corey at GW and he immediately explained the warranty process and was ready to get the ball rolling! Even said he could have me a new tire THE NEXT DAY!! He even showed me other tires that were exhibiting the same problem. GW will get my business from now on!! Thank you Corey and GW Tire!!

My father took me to G and W when I got my first car and told me to always bring it there and Gary would take care of me. I've been brining my vehicles there for over 10 years now. His son Corey runs it now and he goes above and beyond for any shop I've ever seen. I traveled down from Albany and had car troubles and went down at about 5pm (right before they close) Corey told me he would make some time the next day and take a look at my truck for me on such a short notice. It ended up being something very small but it's just the fact that they go out of their way for their customers every single time I've been there. I've had everything from rear axles replaced, tune ups, wheel hardware replaced etc...They always have taken amazing care of me and I will be bringing my vehicles there till the end of time. Those guys are stand up dudes!

*UPDATE:The owner responded below, so I will reiterate that the PROFESSIONAL way to handle this would have been to call me, being honest, and tell me that they don't have time for my car, instead of stringing me along for 2 days, without any updates.*This is 1 of the worst places that I have ever brought my car to. If u have an older car, don't consider bringing it in 4 anything but tires. I went for the first time on 8/2, and I got 4 tires replaced. That day was a good visit. It took several hrs, but that was fine, because I had my car towed there, and they had no advance notice of my arrival. I worked in customer service for yrs, so I understand that part of being an adult is knowing how to wait ur turn patiently. I'm also very easily satisfied with the services that I receive; as long as it gets done, and it's done honestly and professionally, I leave happy. So, that was no problem, and I was very satisfied with my experience. I chose to bring my car back on 8/7, when I started to have issues with my car shutting off while I was driving it. I called in advance, and I was told that they were busy, but that if I brought my car in between 10:30 and 11, they would be able to look at it. So, at 10:45, I brought it in. I asked if I should wait with the car; I was told that the process would be pretty quick once they got to it, but that they had to take their previously scheduled appts first. That's not an issue 4 me at all. I left my key with the woman at the front desk, gave her my phone #, and left. Normally, when I leave my car at a shop, I get an update within 3-4 hrs, but I didn't, so at about 4:30, I called for an update on my car. The person I spoke with said that they had not been able to get to my car yet, and that all of their mechanics had left for the day, so they would get to it the following day. On 8/8, there was total radio silence, until about 4. The mechanic told me that he didn't have the right tools to run a diagnostic check on my car's engine, because my car was too old. I asked him why he wasn't able to tell me this yesterday, so that I could take my car elsewhere to have it looked at. He told me that he had no idea that it was a '93 Camry. (I'll include a picture of my car below, and u can tell me if it looks like anything other than an early 90s Camry). I asked him if there was anything he could do, and he said there wasn't. So, I drove to the shop (at the very end of the 2nd business day, by which point all other mechanics in the area were closed) to pick up my keys and my car. When I got there, the mechanic asked me if they had explained to me on the phone what was wrong. I said something like, "What is it?". At that point, he began addressing my boyfriend, explaining to him what was wrong with "her" car, completely ignoring my presence. About halfway through his conversation with my boyfriend about MY car, I interrupted him and asked for my keys. In no uncertain terms and in a loud tone, I made it clear to him that I really didn't care about anything he had to say about my car; if his opinion had come within 2 business days of my dropping it off, I might have cared. The woman behind the counter, who was rolling her eyes, muttered something about my not having an appt, to which I responded that it had taken them until the end of 2 business days to tell me what they could have told me in 10 mins. Not only that, but if they knew that they were 2 busy to look at the car, then y tell me to bring it in?! Just be honest, and tell me that u don't have time to look at it. Don't keep my car for 2 days without any update, and then tell me that u can't even test it to see what's wrong with it. And, when they told me that they didn't know that the car was a '93, that was obvious bs, since they had a record of its details from my previous visit less than a week ago, and from when I dropped it off the 2nd time. If u don't want to be strung along like I was, please never bring ur car here for anything other than tires. They will not respect u or ur time.

GW Tire Service gave me a fantastic experience today when I had a flat tire. I was greeted by Gary Sr. when I walked in and he was extremely helpful and understanding of my situation. Not only did he quote me a great price on a new tire, he picked up myself and my old tire, brought me back to the shop, let me pay for the new tire as he loaded it into his truck, then drove me back home and helped me with my new tire. They also offer great prices on oil changes, tune ups, ect. If you ever need great service, go to GW.

By far worst experience I’ve had at a locally privately owned auto/tire center. If I could give no stars at all I would. First off, went here for a synthetic oil change that was vastly over priced @ $80, a dealer charges less so I’d recommend going there first. I came back when my car was finished and GW proceeded to tell me the door handle on drivers side was broken off when they went to pull my car into the shop. Told me they would call me with a price which was priced more than the dealer, two days later price was $100 for the part coming out to $214 total after tax and labor. They offered to fix it but not replace it themselves or even meet me halfway on the price and stated it was not his fault it had broken off and that something must’ve been loose so he doesn’t feel responsible for breaking the handle off or feel responsible to pay any at all towards the fix. I ended up taking it elsewhere because I didn’t want them fixing it, charging me more than the dealer and potentially breaking something else on my car. It’s not worth the headache if you can do it yourself or take it somewhere else, definitely do that I’ll be taking my business elsewhere.

The folks at GW Tire are fast, knowledgeable, courteous, professional... basically any positive adjective you can think of fits. They will give you all the information to make a good decision as a customer, and they will support that decision without pandering to you. They spent a good deal of time with me on the phone and didn't make me feel rushed and made sure I was satisfied with my decision before hanging up. Look, you usually don't call a tire place when you are having a great day. Normally it is a bad day, and these guys see a lot of people at their most frustrated, but they help you keep your head and get through the problem. I called at 8:20 AM and had new tires on my Accord by 3:30 PM. And no, they didn't have them in stock. That was research, order, deliver, mount, balance, and install in under 8 hours. My wife called after I made my appointment to see if she could get the tires on the Ridgeline checked due to a wobble (assumed we had thrown a weight). They got all the info from her, agreed with our amateur diagnosis and booked the appointment along with mine and we were both seen and taken care of and spent less than an hour in the shop. Oh, and not to mention they didn't treat my wife any different than me. It should be that way everywhere (it is 2016 after all) but it is often not the case. They didn't try to up-sell anything. I think I booked my appointment with Corey (I'm bad with names), and he rocks. This was my second time going to GW, and I should have written a review sooner, but better late than never. Also, to my military folks: NEVER, NEVER, NEVER go to Firestone on base. Firestone are masters of swindle with a smile. Come to GW and be taken care of and treated like a person, not a piggy bank!

I took my Chrysler Town & Country in to GW today for 2 tires and an alignment. I did all of my communicating with Gary while I was there. Gary not only explained things as we went along, but if something wrong was found he didn't just tell me, he took me out to my car and showed me. All of the staff was friendly and accommodating. I am not from NJ but am military so I have stuck with one mech shop in NC for all of my automotive needs. Now that I am in NJ I have found the place that I will take all of my cars to until we move back home. You are welcomed when you get there and I definitely felt at home and comfortable while I waited. When I left GW to drive home, it was like driving a brand new car. Thanks to the guys who worked on my van. I have 4 kids that I transport in it and I am confident that my van is safe for them to be in it. Looking forward to seeing you guys in the future for work on my vehicles.

I got my oil changed here today. The reason why is because of the reviews and the fact that it was a family business. I think businesses that are owned by families (not all of them) are exceptional businesses. The only reason why I gave it four stars is because the girl at the front desk and the guy who changed my oil said that because my car required synthetic oil, I only needed to change it every 6,000 miles versus 4,000 miles like some other cars. Well, when I went in my car and read the manual, even while using synthetic oil, I only need to change my oil every 8,000 miles. I am certain they didn't mean to lie, but offering that kind of advice is very misleading. It would help if they knew what kind of maintenance was required for my car before offering a misleading advice. Other than that, they changed my oil in 30 minutes! I was very impressed. Their store is very presentable and clean. They had a television that was running a movie from cable television so that was very thoughtful. They had coffee and magazines and comfortable chairs to wait on while you got your car fixed. All of that is very thoughtful and just great customer service. Prior to coming here, I used to go to Firestone in McGuire AFB. Those guys SUCK. I will never bring my car there again for service. I highly recommend GW Tire. HIGHLY. I will come back there again.

Cheap tires but mechanics, not so good. I bought four new tires there. They blasted the lug nuts on with their pneumatic impact wrenches so tightly that I not only had to put a 4' breaker bar on a socket but had to put a length of pipe on that to get enough leverage to break them free. If I had had a flat I never would have been able to get them off at the roadside. I've been fixing my own cars for 40 years and know a thing or two about tires, wheels and brake rotors - which warp when the lug nuts are too tight. I hate warped brake rotors and take excellent care of my cars, using my own torque wrench any time I remove a tire / wheel assembly. When I complained about this they said that my wheel studs were corroded and they had to over-tighten them. That makes no sense, even if my wheel studs were corroded and they aren't. If my studs were corroded, why didn't they tell me? It was clearly a made-up excuse. Any self-respecting tire shop has a collection of color coded "torque sticks" which prevent over-tightening. I watched these "mechanics" through the glass as they worked. Not a torque stick in sight. It annoys me that they insulted my intelligence and damaged my car. The rotors were never the same after that. I now go to a national chain which prominently displays a rack of torque sticks right at the front desk. They use them too.
