The people here are absolutely wonderful. My rear window fell down and they helped me at least keep it up with a door stopper so that my car couldn’t be broken into easily. Although I wasn’t able to afford them fixing it at the time, recent college graduate so tight budget, the prices are fair for the labor. The thing that for me gives them the five star review is the fact that I asked when I came in if they could check the possible estimate before working on the car they said yes. When I learned couldn’t afford it, they understood and didn’t make me feel guilty at all. These people put those worries at ease and once I can save up the money I will be coming back.

The work they do is good, and the prices and people are reasonable. However their scheduling is not very good. My wife was here for 6 hours with a small child. They kept telling her a few minutes. Finally we rented a car so she could leave - 20 minutes later the car was done. I have gone for years and their work is good, but after this experience we will not go back.

I brought my car in because my check engine light was on. They fixed my fuel injector#2. check engine light went out. I left the shop on Thursday 6/8. by Saturday 6/9, I went to get an inspection. I failed, due to "not ready" readings. I noticed on Wednesday the 13th my check engine light came back on, and I was due to go back to the inspection station. Obviously I couldn't anymore. I called them that evening and spoke to Frank. I let him know what happened. He told me to bring the car in. So I dropped the car off Wednesday night, and put the key in the drop box. I called them Thursday afternoon, thinking I'm giving them enough time to at least look at the car, when I spoke to Dave. I asked if my truck was being looked at let. He said what truck, did you drop it off here. I explained to him how I spoke to Frank the night before and I arranged to drop it off. Dave told me to hold on. He came back on the line after a minute or so, and said we found your envelope with the key inside. He said he's sorry but they will get to it before the day is through. About an hour later Frank calls me at work , and says he has to apologize, but he didn't realize my car had been inspected already, and that they are not an authorized inspection shop. I have to take it somewhere else to get it fixed. My issue with him is that he knew when I brought the car in the very first time, that my inspection light was out, when they charged me over $300 dollars and changed the # 2 fuel injector. He knew I was suppose to get the car inspected after that, especially after they fixed it and the check engine light did in fact go out again. He wasted my time, and what he said to me made no sense. How are you going to refuse a valued customer who has been coming to you for a few years now. I told him I will be coming to get my car, but I won't make it by 6:00oclock, so please leave it with the limo co, Which they have done for me in the past. I would go and pick up my key there. On this occasion, Frank said he will leave the key with the limo co. When I got there that evening about 8:00oclock, The Limo dispatcher said no key was left with them. I went to my car, and found the door was open , and my key was in an envelope on the floor. I thought that was so carless of Frank. Anyone could of stolen my vehicle. Also after talking to some technicians in the field, and telling them what happened, how Gogel, basically sent me away, I was told that normal shops would not have done that. One professional in the business said "they took your money after fixing the fuel injector, and when you came back after the check engine light came back on, they just didn't want to be bothered with you". Basically the guy use the term, "they blew you off". He said based on the fact that I have been going to Gogel for at least a good 2 years now and giving them my business as valued customer there is no way they should of treated you like that. They could have at least still diagnosed the issue for you. I am very annoyed at the treatment I recently received with Frank, and I a will do business elsewhere from now on.

The prices are reasonable and the hours are good, however it seems there is something wrong with the tires they sell here. I brought my car back a few times to get the slow leak fixed, but how many hours can I spend on this? Should I spend every week brining my car back? I just gave up, will use green slime on my brand new tires to fix the slow leaks.

Very good service. My car had low pressure light on, so I brought it to the nearby dealer who installed new tires for me two months ago They told me the tire had many holes and needed to be replaced. They took it off, claiming it’s unsafe to drive even though I told them my house was only one minute drive away. And then they said they’d keep the tire and wait for me, and told me the new tire would be $80 with discount because they installed for me before. I refused, got my tire in the trunk, and drove to Gogel. I asked if the tire was fixable. They checked and fixed it for me within twenty. And charged me $40. I have to say Gogel is the best garage I have ever been too. Honest, friendly, and excellent service. Highly recommend them.

$41.41 to patch a tire! Maybe it's a special patch made out of gold and various rare jewels but either way someone at some point could have said it's going to be over $40 to patch the tire. I guess the lesson is to be sure to ask for a price beforehand but in my wildest dreams I would not have expected It to cost over $20 to patch a leaky Tire. I remember when they used to plug them for $7 in Clifton. Anyway, I also remembered afterwards that this is the same place that used to charge my girlfriend like $80 for an oil change on a very basic, common car, until I came along and went, that's insane, I'll take it somewhere else. So the one star is not for bad work but for bad pricing ethics. In response to the owners reply... I don't doubt the effectiveness of patching over plugging, I was actually told by a "car guy" family member to make sure I get it patched. However, as per the article that you referenced, "At Texas Tire Sales, we charge $10.00 to patch a tire". So I'm sure you made my point. The article is from 2013 and the company is in Texas so even given a 300% markup for time and a NJ sucks and everything cost more here understanding that's still 30 bucks. You are overcharging like crazy which is your right as an American capitalist, but you should put a sign up. A pricing guide. Menu. Something that says I am going to pay at least $40 bucks for a tire patch. Or let customers know in some way before you do the work how much something is going to cost. That's all.

Fresh Start

Warranty processing - not too many tire store process the warranty claims for Michelin if the tires were not bought from their store. Here's where Gogel is different from others. They process the warranty FOR YOU even if you did not buy the previous tires from them. Note that COSTCO does not process warranties if not bought from them and others like MAVIS, ETD will inspect the tires, send the report to Michelin, but charge you in FULL. Thereafter, you will have to take it up with Michelin for any partial refund. With Gogel, you only have to pay the NET amount and they work with Michelin for the warranty. Thats a BIG PLUS. Also, MAVIS, ETD etc will not even inspect the tires for warranty unless you confirm that you are buying from them, which was not the case with Gogel.

I bought 4 brand new tires from Gogel tires for my RX350 in July 2017 (about $890). In the past two year, I went Gogel on a regular basis for oil change and tire rotation. In August 2019, when I went there again for oil change, I was suddenly told that all tires needed to be replaced asap, especially for one front tire which already has safety concerns. I only drove 18,300 miles in the past two years. The woman in the store said that it was due to all wheel drive or mechanical issues. She agreed to give me credit for 2 tires only if I buy 4 new tires from them again. I sent my car to Lexus dealer a few days later and the result was “no mechanical issue and the car is in good condition”. I am so disappointed by Gogel and will definitely not go back there again.

I was so impressed with not only how clean the facility is but also how professional, in uniform and friendly everyone is. I took my work truck (Rug Doctor) in for a continuing problem with my electrical system/rear tail lights. I was told by other mechanics at other shops that it would be a "VERY COMPLICATED, EXPENSIVE, TIME CONSUMING JOB" because they would need to replace all the wiring under the truck. I had a few days off so I dropped it off at the nearest auto repair shop to East Hanover. Only a few hours later, they call me up and report that the issue was fixed. My bill was ONLY about $140.00 . We’ve been going to Gogel for years and it’s stories like this that say why....I handed down my 2007 Saturn Vue to my daughter so she can commute to college and get to her job. We already knew from a previous visit that the catalytic was on shaky ground but she managed to pass inspection recently. Then in the past few weeks the muffler started to give way and finally dropped out. Frank at service noted that this was way over the value of the car (not to mention trying to find Saturn parts) which obviously we knew but the cars been reliable otherwise and sentimental to my daughter. Still they looked it over and weighed options of finding parts etc. Finally Frank suggested just taking in to a muffler place to get a simple $200 weld and we’ve at least bought 22 months on the exhaust system. No charge for the time as we got a standard oil change while it was in. We did the $200 weld down the street at Meineke they recommended and I was really grateful as this is not the first time Gogel has offered a really inexpensive alternative repair for this car. We really appreciate it.

I just had them replace my brakes and rotors. Made my appointment, dropped my car off at 8am and was able to pick it up by 2pm that day. Clearly explained the pricing, what needed to be done, and what it would cost before they moved forward with the work. Pricing is reasonable and the communication is great.
