My wife recently took her vehicle to this sad excuse of a garage to replace a tire that blew out due to hitting a pothole during a snowstorm. The owner, David Hewes told her they could find the replacement tire and that the rim had a small dent in it, but would still be fine to drive on. I called the next day because I had a few more questions about what she was told concerning the rim. I called and the owner, David Hewes answered the phone. I told him who I was and he started out being cordial. I discussed the rim situation with him a little bit, because he told my wife it would be fine to drive on. He reiterates that to me by telling me, "the rim has a small dent in it.” He continues by saying, “You might experience some vibration down the road, but it's fine." So let me make this clear to those reading this review, David Hewes told my wife and I that he was going to put a replacement tire on a damaged rim and that it could create some vibration in the vehicle while someone is driving, but it’s fine. Remember that. So I then asked him about the quality of the tire because I wasn't sure how good of a tire it is and was wondering if we needed to upgrade to a different brand since we were going to be needing another replacement Winter tire. Simple question right. I guess not for David Hewes. This guy went from nice to being a complete idiot in a split second. His flustered response to my question was, "I've got to go. I've got people waiting and your asking me stupid f@#king questions." I said, "It's not a stupid question because we're talking about the safety of the tires on the vehicle my wife is driving". He continued his psychotic rant by saying, "Tell her not to hit things, she hit a f@#king pothole." He finished by saying, "Look I've got to go, I don't have time for this. I'm cancelling the tire and you can pick up your rim." And then he hung up on me. I couldn't believe what I had just heard come out of this guys mouth and how unprofessional he was. He claims he's been doing this for 35 years, but he gets irately frustrated over a simple question of the quality of a tire. Usually people who are knowledgeable in their profession like to show that their just that, knowledgeable and credible. The same cannot be said about David Hewes. Now, we purchased a new tire at VIP and when they went to put it on the rim they discovered two dents in the rim, not one like David Hewes said. VIP also found the rim to be not completely circular and said it would not be safe to put the tire on because of the damage to the rim. David Hewes never found that imperfection in the rim. VIP never pressed us on buying a rim from them, but highly recommended that we do get a replacement rim. After a few phone calls, we found out that Sullivan Tire repairs rims. I brought it to them and they too noticed the rim was damaged in all the same areas that VIP found as well. They also were very adamant about not putting a damaged rim on a vehicle. So that’s two very reputable tire service garages that said it was unsafe to put a damaged rim on a vehicle. However, David Hewes was going to do just that and said it would be fine to drive on. Glad to see this moron was looking out for our safety. Talk about irresponsible. It appears he's looking out for his wallet instead. This incompetent owner (David Hewes) provided bad information which could have compromised the safety of my family in this vehicle. My son has his permit and is learning how to drive in this vehicle that David Hewes said could “experience some vibration down the road.” If you care about your family or other members riding in your car, DO NOT get ANY work done at this place. He also created an inconvenience for us to scramble to find the replacement tire and rim before freezing rain and snow was approaching. The only thing he was smart about, because it's clearly not about tires, was avoiding me and keeping his mouth shut when I picked up the rim and tire.

If you're a person who likes to just get stuff done, hit up the Tire Guys. I've read some of these past reviews and have never had a bad experience. I tried to see it from their perspectives and maybe, just maybe, Dave is a bit short, but he's got stuff to do. =) He's very friendly with me, discusses what needs to be done, lets me know what's been done, I pay him, and we're outta there. During inspections, if there are any issues, he or one of his guys will walk me through and look at my OWN CAR. Which might not seem like a big deal, but it's very nice to be able to be shown issues up front and explained so that I can learn more about my own vehicle. I have done my own research and ordered tires to be delivered to him to install with no problem. They will do it. Still highly-recommended.

In three yrs i have been to four garages, this place is the best. I walked in, Dave took my keys , i wanted a tire fixed and asked him if he could do 4 new tires friday. Just returned home from Tire Guys. I stopped in there yesterday morning and spoke with Dave about a set of tires for my wife’s VW Touareg. I had spoken with all the big tire dealers in the area, Town Fair, Sullivan’s, VIP, and National Tire and Battery. Dave beat all their prices, with no ridiculous up sells, or pressure. I asked him about Michelin, Goodyear ( which were on the car), and Pirelli. He explained the up and downs of each tire to me, and recommended the Pirelli’s after quickly asking me about my expectations. He did not have the tires at the shop, my wife’s car has an odd rim size, but he could get them in two hours. I opted to return the next day and he said he opened at 6:30am. I arrived at 6:35am, and there was already a customer in front of me. He immediately brought my car in the garage, and I hit my stopwatch. Exactly 31 minutes later, I was back out on the road. Is the waiting room a little dated, and Dave a little abrupt? Yeah, but your not there for a spa visit, your buying tires, and two more customers came in before 7am, so Dave is a busy guy. If your looking for a brand new waiting area, with free coffee K-cups, and the latest magazines to read, along with higher prices, a two hour wait, and up sells on your tire deal, go to one of the national brand tire dealers. If you want a great deal, quick service, no high pressure up sells, and no BS, go see Dave Hewes at Tire Guys in Farmington.

These guys are always friendly and they do their best to fit you in the schedule. If they can't fix what needs fixing (they are just a tire and inspection place), they know where to send you so you don't get ripped off. Dave always has cookies for my son too. Cozy little waiting area in the building, and chairs outside for nice days. They also just smoothed out the driveway, so it's much easier to get in and out.

Hey GG, sounds like you’re the moron! Sounds like the owner went above and beyond servicing your damaged tire. You should have let him deal with your wife because obviously you screwed yourself. Dave has always been a reputable, reliable and trustworthy businessman who cares about his clients. He never would have said the rim was safe if he didn’t think it was. He sells rims dummy and he would have made an extra $400 on you if he lied to you, I guess like VIP did. It outrages me when people go to social media to rant and rave about a local business who cares about the community and made in America products when they are at fault. All you did in your little rant was show everyone how childish and moronic you are, not Dave and the Tire Guys. Come to think of it, I’m glad you went to VIP, Dave shouldn’t have to deal with people like you. His shop is always clean, his employees are always helpful and pleasant and Dave is ALWAYS truthful and trustworthy. We live in New England GG and just about every vehicle here hits potholes. Most of the tires up here have dented rims. It’s not the tires fault it blew out, it’s the fact that tour wife hit a hole in the road. It happens around here. I guess if she hit a deer it would be your car’s manufacturer’s fault right? I’m glad you went someplace else, you deserved to be ripped off!

They have good quality tires for the cheapest prices around. They are a first come first served service, no appointment required. They don't pester you or try to upsell you. And they have a reasonably comfortable waiting room. That all being said, they seriously lack customer service skills. Or really people skills altogether. If you even remotely question the price, ask about anything they don't offer there for service, or ask what they consider a stupid question, they are completely rude in answering. But they are honest. I'll give them that much. If you decide to call for a quote, make sure you already know the size of your tire. So if you want quick, convenient tire service, for a very low price, these are the guys to go to. If you have a bunch of maintenance or mechanical questions, or just want excellent customer service in general, seek elsewhere. But you'll pay a lot more. I go here strictly for tires. If that's all you want, I highly recommend them.

I have been going to Dave for years to get all my tires for myself, my wire and my sons. Dave is a bit arrogant but I have delt with. This fall I was going to purchase four tires for my truck, which he quoted me $860.00. I was willing to pay that, trusting him and his service. When I called to verify he had them in stock, he went off swearing saying (f**k) a number of times stating he had two people in front of him. Well I am sorry for checking to see if you had my tires in stock. I ended up purchasing a new set of tires with a 60,000 warranty, free rotation for the lifetime of the tires from TownFair Tire. The General Grabber AT2 is a much better tire the he was offering. Do what you would like with this review, I don't know if people want to be verbally abused. Thanks John

"Walk in Service"... More like a walk in with your wallet wide open & have a random being look at your car in the parking lot. Then have them to come to an assumption about your car that will most likely be fraudulent. If you have a bad a$$ custom ride or like to cruse old school (that is street legal) don't waste your time. If you want some tires I guess that is all they are good for if you want "boujie" service. I suggest Keep driving up the street to your nearest shop..That's just me though...

No respect to customers from this place. The website is a lie. They don't care for customers. My tire kept reading low but would only do so when I wouldn’t use my car for a few hours. I assumed there had to be a leak. My fiancé called them this morning and they got my car in right away. Great service. They checked my sensors and calibrated all of my tires for a very reasonable price. They were friendly and efficient. They got everything done quickly. This will be our go to for tire repairs.

Have gone here a few times because of price and speed. Unfortunately I will not return, as the owner was very rude. I stopped by to get a tire plugged and the owner acted like I was wasting his time. I had asked if he had time to plug a tire. Dave said "yes" and I said cool. I asked do you know about how long the wait would be? The owner then blew up and said I dont know I close at 4. The time was 1pm. I said okay Im sorry to bother you and left. The owner very rude to someone who had been a regular customer.

Let me start by saying if all you care about is Tire price by all means go to Dave. Cheapest tire prices around unless you find something that's on a clearance sale elsewhere. However that comes with a price. You stand a great chance of being talked down to by the owner marked or made fun of by the owner and embarrassed in front I'll bother people. Unfortunate to have first-hand experience dealing with this douchebag as an employee. I can't even count the number of times this guy would lose his mind yelling at workers to go faster and get things done only to come out of his office three minutes later bragging two people that work for him how he just pissed somebody off on the phone or send somebody away angry. Multiple times this guy has stood in the doorway putting down employees in front of end with customers . Also be ready to buy Hercules Tires. Not because there are any better than anything else out there cuz they really not. They don't last any longer than anything you can get at Town Fair Tire or Walmart even. According to him there the best thing since sliced bread but that's so he can go on some trip every year provided by Hercules tire for him selling so many tires. A lot of people enjoy supporting small business over larger corporations which I totally get. I am one of those as well. But there are multiple other small businesses in the area that treat their customers and their employees much better than this guy. God forbid you're not a tire expert when you call Dave for tires or show up with questions. I have never met a more pompous arrogant self-absorbed egotistical maniac with the biggest case of small dick syndrome as the owner of Tire guys express service. But again if the only thing in life you care about is saving a couple bucks by all means give your money to Dave cuz at the end of the day he does have the cheapest prices available.

This is not the place to go for tires. They put the wrong size tires on my car and refused to fix the problem. They also are known for cutting stem valves to be faster, but it causes an issue for cars with sensors. I had to replace the tires because they were the wrong size and caused damage to my vehicle. I went to Wal-Mart on line and got better quality for half the price and shipped right to them for free. Much better service. If you are looking for good tires at a great price and don't want horrible customer service choose Wal-Mart over Tire Guys.
