Current manager (Eric) in somersworth NH is a liar and a scam artist. Last year I had problems with my steering and I brought it up to him and he said it was fine. I brought it to Strafford tire and battery and had the work fixed. I gave an honest review of the work recently done which he didn't like the review told me to find a new mechanic. That's really great business for Monro. Not. Wouldn't recommend them to anyone

Miguel and the crew do any amazing job. They're prompt, very reasonable and very personable. As everyone knows, getting work done on your car can be often be a pain, costly and filled with uncertainty. Lied to me about my car needing a ball joint in order to get some extra money. When they found out I had an extended warranty, and was taking it in in otherwise they got a little strange. I've been to several other Monro Mufflers and supported this company for upwards of twenty years. I will not be back after this experience. I have had to come in 3 times for a simple patch at one point recently. I do not recommend supporting this branch

They didn't want my business. I needed a tire patch done and on Sunday was told they were too busy and to come back another day. Tuesday morning I came back and was told that "I just ran out of tire plugs. Go to this place down the street." Too lazy to do a tire patch? I went to guys down the street and will never set foot in Monro again. If you want to make money, you have to take care of customers, not lie to their face.

Chris has been awesome! No issues with this place!! The 1 time I go to another place (g&g auto to have them put tires on and do alignment. Which the alignment never happened) My car comes out making noises! Even though my husband has tried to see what on earth is going on...we can't find the problem!! So, Chris will be seeing me and my very red chevy aveo real soon! Hope he or someone at Monro can find the issue! (G&G auto did something bad! Car was fine until it saw them!) Learned my lesson! Will be sticking with Monro even if they are booked!

They may have the expertise but it's only to make up for the entire lack of customer service. He told me that my car issue wasn't his problem, that he didn't care, and that they were closed when the hours clearly listed another half an hour. I have never met a more inconsiderate and downright rude person in a customer service field. Find a repair service that respects and WANTS your business!!

Understanding Monro...the manager was super nice. Its first come first serve even for appointments. The garage doesn't know what's wrong with my car before I get there...same with others. So I had to wait a bit. Its not exactly McDonald's so I wasn't upset. They gave me a fair price and talked me out of Jerry rigging the car for a temporary fix. Weeks down the road I'm happier. Car rides better. Once I understood monro is not a quick lube things have been great. My old garage took all day...most times these guys are same day.

This morning I had car trouble when leaving the grocery store. My car was in drive but I wasn't getting any power. I was able to make it into Monroe in Irwin, and I told Mike the manager what was happening. He came out and looked at my gas cap first, and sure enough that was the problem--I had gotten gas right before shopping and had not put my gas cap on tight. Mike was very helpful, didn't charge me, and did not make me feel stupid, LOL. I will continue going to Monroe for my regular maintenance! Thank you, Mike!

i seek out oil change service at this branch of monroe specifically b/c of the customer service of the managers at the front desk. informed, professional, honest, and most importantly to me, warm with a willingness to accommodate and listen. it would be easy to go to jiffy lube or another quick + dirty but i am remembered as a human with a car here and not a drone with a wallet. keep up the good work!

Brought my car there and purchased a brand new tire. Less than 2 months later and it is flat. Went by there today and they can’t even look at it so i am supposed to drive on a donut because they sold me a faulty tire? I will never come here again. 3 days before christmas and i am expected to unsafely drive to work and with my daughter because of them. No thank you. Now I am forced to purchase a new tire elsewhere.

They mounted my tires but put one on the rim backwards. I had to go back to get it fixed. They did so without much fuss. This was a little annoying but while in the waiting room I saw the desk staff be honest with the people that came in, telling them they didn't need additional services that weren't necessary. It's this kind of service that isn't constantly trying to up sell and get people to pay for unnecessary things that redeems my rating for the business.

I had an issue with the battery in my car, so I set an appointment up at Monro. My family is a true Monro family, we’ve always trusted the brand and have used their services in both New York as well as Rhode Island. Naturally, I had a hell of a time getting my car going to even get to my appointment which made me 10 minutes late. I called ahead and Miguel, the store manager, answered my call and completely made me feel at ease for as anxious as I was that I may miss my appointment. He took me in when I got there, and never once made me feel bad about what would have been an inconvenience to himself and his team. Miguel truly embodies why myself and my family love Monro. The expertise is there which of course you want, but he is also just plain lovely. He explained the process of fixing my car and what was wrong to me in terms I could understand as well as made me laugh multiple times while I was there. He fixed my battery issue in less than an hour! He’s a gem for the franchise Monro and Carpenter St. store and I will continue to be a repeat customer for life!

I had a wonderful and seamless experience getting my oil changed at Monro. Miguel helped me deftly choose the right oil for my vehicle and made me aware of a special, which made everything much more affordable. He was very professional and knowledgable regarding my particular vehicle. He was able to reset some dashboard lights at no additional cost that had been intermittently malfunctioning for the last several years--the dealer for my brand said it would cost hundreds of dollars for a similar service. Furthermore, he performed an out-of-state emissions test that was hassle free...And most importantly, all of these services were provided in about half an hour!! I'll definitely be coming here for future service!

So, I recently had a brake emergency that I first heard / felt upon arriving at my place of employment. I discovered that one of my calipers holding my brakes to the rotor had almost completely come off. How this happened I do not really know. I called every service dealer I could think of and then some, explaining what my situation was, and all of them told me I’d have to leave drop my suv off and leave my vehicle over night to be serviced the next day! Desperate, because I need my vehicle to go to and from work I decided to give Monroe Muffler & Brake a try.. I was pleasantly surprised at the level of service attention they gave me. They didn’t brush me off like so many others and they took excellent care of my vehicle. They honestly communicated the issues and quickly and efficiently repaired my suv. Made an appointment online for an inspection. Showed up for my scheduled appointment and was told they couldn't get me in for six more days. They said they sent me an email to reschedule but I do not check my emails hourly. They had my phone number and never called me. I got an oil change here a few months ago. The place is very clean and a comfortable atmosphere . Some auto places make you feel very uncomfortable. They got me in and out in about 35-40 mins. Talked to Joe about getting new tires. He went out and looked at them and told me that I could get a few more months out of them but I would need them before winter. I went in yesterday just to get pricing on 4 tires. Joe was there still. I told him that I had been pricing tires at a few of his competitors. I told him the quotes that I got. He gave me a price of $30.00 less than my lowest quote. He also mentioned that I should probably get an alignment as well. I knew I needed one so I agreed to it since he gave me such a good price on the tires and I only had a certain amount of money to work with. So he told me that they could take my car in right then and do it. I was a little reluctant because I wasnt prepared. I knew it would take about 2 hours. So kidding around(kind of), I asked if I could take one of their cars home while the work was being done. Not surprisingly, the answer was no but.... Joe offered to give me a ride home and come pick me up when it was ready. So problem solved. The work got done and when I went to pay up, the cost was still less than what I expected. I think I got a deal on the alignment as well. You guys are doing a great job there. Thanks Joe for going above and beyond. Oh ya Joe, you really could have made that yellow light pulling back in yesterday. Lol

Been going here for the past 3 years for oil changes and changing winter and summer tires, and its been somewhat hit or miss with the level of service. My girlfriend has also had similar fishy situations as well. She was told one of her fog lights was out and needed to be fixed to pass inspection so they just took her fog lights off saying she didn't need them and would pass inspection if she didn't have them. Never did find out what they did with her fog lights from her Subaru. But my most recent experience has turned me off from them. I've was having my snow tires taken off and replaced with summer tires that I have. I was told it would take a half hour or so. Over an hour later I got a call saying the tire pressure sensor broke while taking the tires off and that I needed to pay an additional $80 to replace it. It was not broken when I left the car with them because if it was faulty, the dash indicator would have been illuminated. I've had my tires changed twice a year for the 7 years I've owned the car and this is the first time this has ever happened before. I was told "this happens all the time, usually at least 1 of them breaks out of the 4 tires changed" and that I "should be glad it was only 1 of them." Since this has never happened in my 14 times changing tries over and this, according to the manager, seems to be a regular occurrence for them, I can't afford paying for parts they end up breaking. In addition to this I was also charged a $16 "Shop Supply Fee" that I was not told about when I was asked how much it would cost to do the tires, but was added on later without my knowledge. This fee is described on my receipt as "This charge represents shop supply and equipment costs and my include PROFITS." Update 5/2/18: I reached out to Monroe customer service as requested in their response to my review. She informed me that tire pressure sensors do break. I agreed and while I'm sure they do break, I know it wasn't broken when I left the vehicle with them and after they worked on my car, it was broken. She asked if she could call the location and then call me back. I agreed. When she called me back she informed me that the technician who worked on my car told the manager not to charge me for the broken sensor but the manager billed me for it anyways and told me I was "lucky more didn't break". It sounds like the technician was honest and admitted to breaking/damaging the sensor but the manager decided to stick me with the bill anyways. After a week of fighting this, the customer service rep refunded me for the sensor.

This is a long overdue review. A month back a friend with brake problems came to me looking for advice. Based on her story I figured she needed her brakes bled. After speaking with Joe(acting manager or owner), his bays were full but told us to come back 30 minutes before closing. We did and to be honest he shouldn't have helped us like he did. After telling us he wasn't going to be able to do it, he attempted to get a tech to stay late. Even tried the brakes himself and said it was unsafe for us to be driving with the vehicle(which I agreed 100% with.) He took me into the bay and explained the story to a tech who agreed to try. Bout an hour later and far past closing time, they got two lines working and was able to diagnose what might be the problem. When I asked how much we owed them for the time and service Joe simple said nothing and let us go on our way. I was amazed and despite it all, when it comes to service, I would go back there. All of those guys are amazing. Despite the problem not being fixed all the way, they improved the brakes to get us home safely.

"Will never go to Monro in Somersworth again". My fiance was told it would be $80 total for them to put in a $20 gasket, would not take them more than 20 minutes she was told. $100 hr for labor he said twice it absolutely would be under $100 .....$220 later.....three times the original said amount and now her dashboard is missing the audio button....and when she called to address the audio button missing, she was told that, that could have not of happened because of them when she had it before she dropped it off! Wish I could give an even worse rating!

The guy working the front desk is an A**hole to start. I sent my wife's car for an oil change and tire rotation. what we got was an oil change with the gravel guard missing bolts to hold it in place and it started to hang down. But the worst and most outrageous and piss poor work that not only shows poor poor service and consideration of customers is the fact that not only did they strip the lug nut threads. they didn't replace them and they did NOT tell me they did it. My wife started saying something about a shake and when I looked to see what was going on the tires had started to work loose on the lugs due to striped threads. This is my wife's car which she uses to transport our children around and your incompetence and fail to do your jobs correctly could have KILLED someone. I will never recommend monro to anyone ever.

On our way back from Kellys Island our vehicle pulling a camper had the alternator go bad Labor day on the way home. Fearing a break down out on a country road, my wife found Monro which was thankfully open. Devon was able to locate a new part and we were on our way in a few hours. We parked our camper in the parking lot behind the Monro building (since it was a big open parking lot) an had an unfortunate encounter with the owner of the building behind Monro. He pounded on our door and yelled as us for being there. I explained our situation to him but he was not at all understanding, he scared my wife and children as a result. Total waste of time.... It was a Sunday afternoon I walk in and mechanic was flipping page of a magazine. I told him I need to replace a tire asap because I'm coming from the city and it's a long drive. He tooks 15min to prints out prices of the tire that I needed. He was very respectful....I agree on the price. He turns around "oh but not for today... Tomorrow instead". I spend almost 30 minutes in the shop between waiting for the print and selecting the tire... for him to tell me he can't do it. WASTE OF TIME. He recommended Sam's club instead. He could have told me from the beginning he couldn't do it.

You need to read this review. I know about cars. I work on my own and despise giving my car to a mechanic. Monro Muffler and Brake is a dishonest garage, giving good mechanics a bad name. My co worker came in the other day after going to Monro, with an estimate for $540.00 worth of brake work. I asked to see the bill. 1 caliper = $104.97 1 rotor = $109.99 1 set brake pads = $117.99 Labor = $164.50 Shop Supply Fee = $39.00 Total = $536.45 I was so disgusted by the bill, I chose to buy the materials and do the work myself. I bought all these parts from O'Reilly Auto Parts, feel free to check my pricing. 1 caliper = $42.99 1 rotor = $36.99 1 set brake pads = $13.99 1 bottle brake fluid = $4.59 Total = $98.56 I bought these parts retail, which includes a profit for O'Reilly for selling me the parts. So, how does Monro Muffler/Brake justify the 400% increase? I called and asked. The branch that quoted the work said they cannot control pricing, which are set by corporate. The corporate office refused to explain how they arrive at their pricing. Listen, Monro Brake/Muffler is dishonest. They are ripping you off. There is no way to justify $118.00 brake pads for a 1999 Toyota Camry with 196k miles. No way. This is a cowardly company who takes advantage of people who know nothing about cars or car parts. Also, it turns out that this Sommersworth, NH branch filled 2-3 quarts too much oil in this person's car, after learning they could not pay for the outrageous brake work. I can provide proof of all of these claims. Do not trust these dishonest fools with your car.

We were traveling between Manchester, NH and Wells, ME and noticed our left tire had smoke pouring out of it. We stopped into a competitor that did not have time to help us, but recommended Monroe. I called first and was told they could get us in right away between customers. When we arrived they were busy with people waiting, but as promised they took the van in, told us we needed a brake caliper, ordered it, and installed it all within a reasonable amount of time, all things considered. We have had no problems since then (it's been about a week now) and are very thankful to Joe (manager) and Doug (technician) for helping us out!

I've taken my car here for oil changes and state inspections countless times over the last 3 or 4 years. But I will never go here again. First, I rescheduled an appointment from the day before for 11:00AM. So I show up at 11... guy tells me they couldn't honor my appointment cause they decided to take in a bunch of walk ins. Why the **** do they accept appointments then? He tells me to come back at 2. So I did. Oil change took about 45 minutes or so. As I'm getting ready to pay, a promotional I mention to them gets the guy to realize, "ohhh.... they put the wrong oil in". Like, what? Mind you, this is now the SECOND TIME they put the wrong oil in. But last time I let it slide cause I figured, "it's just a mistake". That was my attitude until I realized my car was eating up more gas than before. And by that, I mean I was getting about 50 miles less in a tank than before. So, on this visit, I demanded they change it back to semi synthetic. Which they did. Of course, afterwards, they proceeded to tell me a bunch of stuff in the car was bad. Along with some somewhat inflated pricing... Whatever. I will never get my oil changes nor anything else there ever again. If they can mess up a simple oil change (and a rotation, mind you), why would I trust them with the same or other kinds of work? If you need a cheap oil change and you need to get shopping done at Wal-Mart in the meantime, by all means, go here. But if you want decent, competent work done, go somewhere else. Or do it yourself! It's really cheap enough these days!

i had brake work done and Joe, the manager, called back with an estimate and even suggested I call the dealership to see if any of that work was possibly still covered under warranty. Most places probably wouldn't have said that and wanted to take your service and money. They were very nice and gave me a ride back home and picked me up when my car was ready so I didn't have to sit around for hours waiting. All of them were nice from the manager to the guys that picked me up and dropped me off. I have had work done on other cars there and the service was sub-par but the work has always been honest and upfront.

I wish there was an option for 0 stars because that's what I really would like to give this place. My husband was getting new tires, they had to be ordered and shipped to this Monro. We have gone to other Monro's and never had an issue with anything. This garage was a disaster from the beginning. My husband called to make appointment once the tires were received and was to take the truck in the next day. When we arrive at the time of his appointment he was told that they no longer could put his tires on because they sent his tires back. Another person ordered the same tires in a different size and they received the same day, apparently this has never happened before so they sent my husband's tires back to the company. They apologized and said they could have the tires put on first thing the next day. We leave the truck there over night since we both have to be at work early and said e would pick up around 4 and because of the inconveniences they would give us a free oil change and a discount on the installation fee. Well, we returned today to pick up the truck only for my husband to see they didn't do an oil change like they promised and he drove not even a mile down the road when he heard a loud thumping noise and his entire truck started to shake. So he took the vehicle back and when he got out his lug nuts were loose on his front tires. We are very lucky this didn't cause an accident especially considering the location of this monro, on busy route 30 who knows what would have happened to with any oncoming traffic. This could have cause a HUGE wreck! We will never go back to this Monro for any type of service. I would rather drive 30 minutes to a dealership then trust these guys with our vehicles. STAY AWAY

I came into Monro with loud noises from my van, and Joe was able to get me right in ASAP! I needed breaks immediately. They stayed later to accommodate to make sure that I was safe and had breaks. Their breaks are fully warranted and they double check all breaks before sending me and my kids off. Went to this place because of vibrations during breaking. I called and Evan gave me a first appointment to inspect my car within a few days. He told me my lower control arms were worn out and it would get worse over time. Depending on how long I am planning to keep the car I should think about just living with it, or getting it repaired. A statement which you don't hear often (in a positive way). He gave me a first estimate which was way over what I was able to pay. Evan gave me also the option to check if I could get the parts cheaper - I did! That being said, he repaired it with the parts I got and charged me a very fair amount for labor. Overall I had a great experience here, costumer service was great. I just deducted one star because his suppliers are overpriced, at least for Volvo parts. Would come again!

Brought a volvo in because the gas gauge wasnt accurate. Probably a sensor issue. It took them three days to diagnose. We couldnt take the car back after the second day because they took the whole fuel assembly out without authorization. When they finally put it back together, we were going to take it elsewhere, but gas was leaking everywhere. This was NOT happening before we brought it to monro. The sexist mechanic tried to claim the my girlfriend is dumb and just overfilled the tank... she's been driving for 8 years.... When we brought it back to fix the car, they completely ignored our appointments and left the car leaking in their parking lot... Losing all gas. It's been over a month amd they haven't fixed thw damage they have caused. AVOID AT ALL COSTS!

First off, not all auto centers are the same, most try to get you in and take your money and hound you about coming back to take more money. Monro Auto service in Irwin isn’t like that at all, they made sure to fit in my inspection got it done at a VERY reasonable time and didn’t force purchases on me just so they could make a quick buck. Wish I could give 0 stars. Brought our car here for an inspection, failed due to cracked tail light, all lights worked fine just a crack in outer plastic. They ordered the wrong part, then finally when they got the right part in they mixed up where the bulbs went. Blinker/brake light, one bulb is yellow and the other is clear. If you can't get that right you shouldn't be working on cars. Had to fix it myself and a massive upcharge on the part. Don't ever go here.

Awesome place. Needed to get my muffler fixed on my old 2004 pontiac grand prix. Bought it, manager was friendly asked what I was in for, told him i think I had a muffler leak, takes the car in 5 mins later comes out and tells me its an easy fix and it would ONLY COST ME $75. I was blown away by how cheap the service was. Asked how long I had to wait he said only about 30 mins. Walked around Wal-mart got some food and 25 mins later the car was done(They finished it in legit 20 mins)! Car was waiting outside ready to go and car sounded wonderful. Awesome place. Can't wait to go back down to get my breaks replaced on my 2010 Impala.

I went there about a week ago to get my car inspected. Although management dealt with me kindly , they tried to take advantage of me. I was told my exhaust needed repair and my brakes as well. My car passed inspection according to the slip which was printed, but was told my car could not pass inspection . I was quoted four hundred for rear brakes and rotors alone. I chose not to fix my car at this location, and brought my car to an exhaust mechanic to find out my exhaust system was perfectly functioning. My car has now passed inspection , I would not recommend this establishment to anyone. If you don’t know anything about cars it’s walking into a trap. Take your business elsewhere with honest people.

Worst customer service ever. As someone who works in the customer service industry, I can understand where customers can feel entitled with treating anyone a certain way, however, the situation that took place in the recent days at Munro Muffler in Plattsburgh was downright disrespectful. Took my car and the guy working the front desk was so rude. He cut me off every time I tried to speak, and I felt like somehow, I was being treated like a child in trouble, and almost taken advantage of because I'm not very familiar with cars. He started telling me how my mother was "yelling" at him over the phone, (immature much?) because she was upset over the fact that the work done on my car back in April was a "temporary fix". Yet somehow, we were never informed of this "temporary fix", otherwise we would have payed for something to be a "permanent fix". As a college student, my car is my only form of transportation, so I was stranded at this place, and of course, this man did not offer a ride or even the slightest bit of concern for how I was getting home. I eventually took a taxi back home, and then back to there, only for them to tell me my car needed a $1300 fix. Somehow from when they did a full inspection on my car back in April, this "problem" didn't "show up". This man offered no alternatives, no consideration for my situation, and didn't care to speak to my father who would be PAYING for this expensive fix. Mind you, my family is 5 hours away from Plattsburgh, so communication is a must. After all that, we have opted to give our money to a mechanic that appreciates our business, and offers sympathy to complicated situations. In the past, my family and I have had excellent service from Munro Muffler, but unfortunately, it takes one bad egg to convince us to take our money elsewhere.

Went for an oil change and tire rotation. Was questioned about type of oil I use. When i replied conventional I was told quite arrogantly that my car requires synthetic. I've had this vehicle over 10 years and according to the owners manual it takes conventional and No one at any other time has said this. When I said that, I was told that it was too late to put it in now. That I've already done the damage. I have over 95000 miles on my car and it runs fine The guy was extremely rude. I work in retail and the customers are the reason you have a business. I will not be returning here.

Now, I can honestly tell you that this was one of the best experiences I've had in a while. I've tried all the oil joints in the area. These guys got the car in and changed the oil, but while they were there I found out that my steering rod was broken (almost). I have kids. All they had to do was change the oil. They took time and care of my car..when they didn't have to. Seriously, the last review was about getting in and out. Hey, captain irresponsible why don't you plan more time for oil changes? The manager at Monro told me that half the time prompto doesn't change your oil filter...which i found to be true. If the last review guy is in such a hurry he can go to them. I just know that my steering rod got fixed after "normal business hours" and I didn't even know. Thanks guys.

If driving a safe vehicle is a concern for you do not take your vehicle here! I had initially really trusted Monroe, their staff, and their pricing. However, after this past month of back and forth I will never bring my car back again (even with the lifetime break deal)! My tire was not properly tightened after getting my breaks done causing 2 lug nuts to completely shear off and the remaining to be loose enough to taken out by hand. I brought the car back to get this fixed and it was not repaired correctly as they misappropriated the problem to a tie rod instead of listening and noticing for themselves the obvious damage that was literally pointed out to them...in addition the entire steering column continued to shake(which they conveniently didn't notice). I had a verbal agreement with the manager on the phone that I had a new tie rod on my car and that Monroe needed to cover that part, as the damage was caused because of their ineptitude, the manager was "out" when I went to pay and I was then forced to cover the part and put at risk of having this placed on my credit as they wouldn't take partial payment. I went back the following day to speak with the manager in regards to a refund that was clearly stated on the phone, he did not send this in to corporate like stated. I had to call the corporate office 3 times to get this problem resolved and get the refund process started(which I still haven't received). When I finally got ahold of the customer service manager, I was told that I would finally be getting reimbursed for that part and a $50 credit to be used in their stores... After all of this work was done I went else where to get new tires, they were unable to put the new tire one because they said, "it would be unsafe and unethical for me to see this kind of problem and allow you onto the road" since the damage resulting from improperly tightened lug nuts DESTROYED my $400 rim . In summation, I had to pay upfront at a new shop for a part that was damaged from Monroe's negligence simply because they couldn't be bothered to pay attention to the work they did when they were asked to reassess the problem( we learned in preschool playing with blocks that a circular object doesn't fit into an oval hole, their mechanics must have skipped that day). Not only have their mistakes caused me countless hours of grief and a considerable amount of money, but they on more than one occasion have physically endangered my life allowing me to drive off their property 3 times in an unsafe vehicle. If you want yourself, or those you care about to make it home, never trust these people alone with your vehicle.

I went to Monro today to have my mufflers put back on my 2014 Dodge Charger. I was very hesitant about going here because of some bad reviews. However, I had a great experience. The gentleman at the desk was very polite. I heard him talking to customers and actually telling some of them that they didn't need a service because it looked good already. The price he charged me was way less than I expected. Even the mechanics addressed me as sir. I don't know how things used to be here, but I would have no problem at all sending my wife by herself. I seriously think these people are truly honest. And I'm skeptical in nature. The waiting room had nice tile, flat screen tv to watch, clean restroom. So good job Monro!! This is probably my second review I've ever written. I just wanted to give these guys a thumbs up. I will definitely be back and I will recommend you to everyone!

Went in for an inspection. Waited two hours before they even started the inspection because they had to unload delivery trucks. An hour later, I was informed of a list of things that needed fixed to pass inspection for $1300 dollars. The list was loaded with ridiculously expensive parts and labor. 200 dollars for brake pads???? What a joke. These people are predators and will try and rob you. I went to a garage a mile away the next day and had my car inspected and was out the door for 229 dollars. Would NEVER go to these thieves again.

I took my car here to get an alignment. After the alignment, my car was making an awful racket under the floorboards. It sounded like metal clanging. I took it back and the manager put it up on the rack and got angry that his techs forgot to retighten some part of the axle (?) Did he give me anything for my troubles? No, not even a coupon for next time. I took it back yesterday and had them put on 2 tires for me. After driving around for 50 miles today, I noticed my lug nut socket was still attached to one of my lug nuts on the back right wheel of my car. It's 5 inches long sticking out from my wheel. If that fell off, I'm sure they would have sworn they put it back in the trunk and I misplaced it.

In the past year, this place went dramatically down the hill! Simple things like oil change, will result in staining seats with an oil, spilling oil all over the engine compartment forgetting to clamp air filter box are pretty much a norm for this shop. Sorry! But whilst it wasn't there fault, I walked in hoping they could quickly remove a "frozen" lug nut from tire that is/was preventing me from having new tires installed (Sam's club doesn't have a heat gun for bad lugs) and the guy told me he could keep the vehicle for the day and would accomplish task after 24hrs, I said no. In my mind I'm thinking it's just 1 screw/lug nut how difficult can it be "time wise" to remove...so felt frustrated, and this place only exacerbated that feeling of "why's everything always gotta be so tough this year!" So don't try walking in for any type of service, best to make an appt.

Came in today after making an appointment yesterday for a brake job, Devon was there instantly to assist me, I told him I needed brakes, in the front and rear. Devon, said let us take a look at it, and we will see what you need. They pulled my car in, and inspected both sets of my brakes, Devon, said your fronts are fine for another season or so, but your back brakes and rotors are shot, which I knew the rears were bad, but I also, seen the fronts and knew they were fine. Before Devon even said anything to me, So right then and there I knew we had a couple of honest people,( Honest people especially for servicing vehicles are hard to find),the technician Jim, is great, I could tell by the way he was wrenching, he had alot of experience. Alot of repair shops can be shady, and for anyone reading this who is wondering if this place is legit or not, well I can say this, I would highly recommend, to have your vehicle serviced here. I will be bringing back my car for the front brake replacement when it's time. So thanks Devon and Jim for making my first experience with Monro Muffler Brake and service, wonderful, 10/10 for quality and customer service!

I took it to a different garage was told they replaced the wroung part and was also told about being overcharged. Still have not heard anything back from them. Huge waste of time and money...... My car was making loud noises suddenly and i rushed to them. I had to drive almost 60 miles to boston so couldnt take any risk. The guys working were on it in a flash. They walked me through on what the problem was and told me what needed to be done. Seeing the problem myself helped calm myself down. Great service

Went there to have my exhaust checked as my car was making an awful noise. Turned out my muffler was completely dead and I had a few holes so needed to change some of the pipes, gaskets, donuts, etc... Came up with an estimate of $600/$700. Went to visit my in-laws in Rochester and they have a local mechanic down the road. Asked him for a second opinion, he confirmed muffler needed to be replaced as well as one small pipe, a gasket and an adapter. Long story short, I paid $248 to have the work done and he did it on the spot (he had to go and buy the parts but did everything in the afternoon). I don't understand how they can have so many good reviews when realistically they are way overpriced. Will not visit again.

I went in here yesterday because the stealership said I need an alignment to fix my vibration at highway speeds. The Asst. Manager, Chris, asked me a few pointed questions about the vibration and explained how there was no way I needed an alignment. I cant tell you enough about how much a huge change this location has made. I replaced all 4 tires in December and the Manager on the time and his technicians did a poor job all round. I went in for my "scheduled" appt and they were all taking their lunch break eating at the customer counter as group. No one stopped eating to take in my vehicle etc. Finally after 30 mins it was finally brought in and I left to grab lunch to make time past. I picked up my car and was told it was all set. A few weeks ago I started to hear some weird noises when I turned my steering wheel. Long story short my mechanic told me that my tire rod was so loose that it was about to snap off and Im sure you all could figure out the rest from there. LIVID of course he recommended I reached out to Monroe to find out who serviced my vehicle and have the realign the tires to make sure its center probably from driving with a loose tire rod. I reached out the store and requested to find out who serviced my vehicle. I spoke with the NEW Manager (Joe) who was appalled of the type of service I received. He didnt get into the details of everything but he told me he was very sorry and wanted to make it right. He explained the old manager and his technicians no longer work there and he was the new guy who hand picked his technicians to worked under him. He offered me to come in and do an alignment at their cost, as it was the least he could do for the mishap. For those of you who have also had problems in the past with this particular location ,I can assure you all its not like that anymore. In fact the customer area is even more pleasant to be in and clean. I will definitely be coming back to give my business to Joe and his team.

First of all, I went to Sullivan Tire in Newington, NH to have the tires rotated. I asked them to take a look at the back brakes because I was hearing a shuddering, scraping noise when I applied the brakes. Later that day they called and said that they had found that the muffler was so rusted out that they would have replace the entire muffler system. Additionally the brakes were badly worn (down to to 2 mm), the rotors were rusty and they had their doubts about the emergency brakes, so they would need to be replaced too. Estimate $1,937.77! ! ! ! Egad! I called around a bit, but remembered that I had taken previous cars to Munro in Somersworth with very satisfactory results. I called and made an appointment. Half an hour later, Munro called me to tell me that there was absolutely NOTHING wrong with the brakes, I had plenty of pad thickness on all four wheels (between 8 or 9 mm). In fact, David, the friendly, velvet voiced, never ruffled manager said that the rear brakes looked brand new. He went on to say that they could weld a pipe between the first section of the muffler system and the actual muffler assemblage at the back of the car, and it would be just fine. There was no rust on those parts, except just where it had broken. That was done in two more hours. Total cost: $218. I will return for service at Munro from now on. I shall never darken the doorway of Sullivan Tires ever again.

First, I blame myself for having the work done that I knew the car didn’t need. I went in for an oil change and walked out with over $1,000 in work that was unnecessary. I was told that the rear suspension needed work (struts) as the rear tires were cupping badly. I asked to see the rear tires after the job - again, my fault, I should have looked before - and they showed no cupping or wear at all. The tires were in very good shape. I would warn all potential customers to avoid this business at all costs. If I could give 0 stars, I would.

Went in to see if couldn't get a quick oil change, thought "hey only have 2 cars in bay and 3 guys out there working, should be in and out" so I walk in and say that "I'm in a bit of a hurry was wondering if you could get me in fairly quick?" Young heavier gentlemen looks at me and said "you can wait your f@$king turn." They weren't busy, 2 customers in waiting in waiting area, 2 cars on lift, they didn't look busy at all, I looked at him and said "Well I don't have to f@$king wait here" Will never return, ain't no reason someone should be shown that kind of hostility over a simple question that was asked without attitude. I understand people have difficulties in life but when you make it to work, you leave your problems at the door.

Update: Personnel have changed...Went there for a conventional oil change for $14.99 was charged $28.88? I asked if they rotated the tires and was told it didn't come with a conventional oil change...What's that got to do with it if i wanted my tires rotated..I will go to midas next time.

Monro’s Building needs a facelift but don’t let that fool you, the employees there are great! If your a woman who doesn’t really know anything about cars this is the place to go, they won’t try and get you for anything you don’t need. I was told what I could use and what could wait. They didn’t pressure me one bit into buying anything, but instead took me out and explained to me what the problems were . I cant remember the managers name but Thank you very much for the knowledge and great service, I will be back! He even fixed a squeaking noise I was having for a long time that other shops couldn’t find. Didn’t charge me a dime since it only took him a minute or two!
