Terrible mechanics...... came here and got an oil changea few months ago went somewhere else and they told me they couldn't get it off because it looks like they tightened the bolt with an air gun. We ended up stripping the bolt due to the tightness. Everyone knows that right is tight and left is loose. If you can't untighten a bolt using that concept using the right tools then you done something wrong! Don't try and charge me because your worthless mechanics are doing stuff inappropriately. $20 to get the bolt off because your mechanics are incompetent is a load of bull. I got the price knocked down $7 but I swear I'll pay the extra money else where from here on out. Thank you to John at corporate I appreciate your understanding but their customer service over there is completely poor and they need an class on customer service skills. The receptionist was friendly and compassionate but this now has me worried that if since I've asked them to look at other areas of my car that something is going to go wrong too. I will take this loss today but this has been truly a learning experience that I will never forget.

This place is terrible. I went to have my car inspected and they told me I needed a new battery and a new alternator, both of which I had replaced the week before that. DO NOT TRUST these people. They are just trying to make as much money as they can.

Worst place ever!!! I Took my car there to fix an oil leak. They told me i had to pay the money up front before they fixed it as if i was some type of criminal. Then one of the men told me that my car was a bad brand and that I should spend more money on my car instead of going out to buy nice clothes....This really did happen .....This was extremely disrespectful. I called the corporate office about this and nothing was done. This is the worst place ever. By the way my price was $1038.00 and the problem did not end. They claim the car lost the new part and that it fell off the car after they repaired it.

Took our car to Calvert's on Wednesday because we found a coupon for new brakes with service for $60. After James looked over the car for a moment, he determined that the coupon did not apply to the cars needs and that it would actually cost $587 for new brakes. The car is a 2001 Chevy. But we need brakes, so he asked for $100 to order the part. After leaving (near closing time) and discussing it, we decided not to go forward with the repairs. Called back the next morning when they opened to notify them that we would not be using them for repairs and was notified that we could not get our $100 back. The part had not been ordered and, even if it had, auto repair shops return parts ALL THE TIME. I called back again to ask James what exactly the $100 was for if the repairs were not going to be done AND we could not collect the part. He said that it was for ordering the part. Now I've never worked at an auto shop, but in other companies where frequent orders/shipments are being made, the company DOES NOT pay for individual shipping. I'm certain this is the case at Calvert's, but they're business practices are obviously crooked. After writing reviews to warn potential customers NOT TO DO BUSINESS HERE, I am going to file a complaint with Missouri Attorney General Josh Hawley and urge anyone who has suffered loss of hard earned money for no reason to Calvert's. Thieves should not be tolerated and handled by the proper authorities.

This shop had me waiting for almost 4 hours to get a front wheel alignment. They still did not correct the problem, actually they now have my car pulling in a different direction and my tire wobbles. Worst experience with Calvert's my family has ever had and I've been to 3 locations repeatedly over the past 5 years. Everything they could do wrong they did. Went for a simple oil change. They lied about a car issue, got the wrong part, made us wait 3 hours to "fix" something that wasn't even the problem, tried to overcharge for it and then when my husband pulled up the schematics of the car to show them they were wrong they didn't even know what to say when they were caught in their lies. The only good thing is we only paid for the oil change after proving they were wrong. Way to prey on people during the holiday season. Never going back.

My Honda was not working right and needed fixing. Have used Calverts in the past and stopped by for a diagnosis. They had my car in and diagnosed in 3 hours. Had a handful of people in waiting room and spend a lot of time determining what was wrong with my Honda. They even helped me with some other issues that my car need. Cars are expensive and taking it to a mechanic is when you find out why they cost what they do...NEW. I was happy with the experience, even though their reviews from people complaining about how expensive ownership of a car can become. I would go back to Calvert's for service. Thank you.

I really hate that I have to put 1 star when I really want to put none!!! This specific location are nothing but money hungry people and its sad. I went for 1 problem and MR KNOW IT ALL Jeremy told me what was wrong with my car and it cost me almost $300 I left thinking the problem was solved and had to come back the very next day and he said "well oh" you gotta get this fixed now blah blah blah so Im like ok well you got me paying for this that and the 3rd long story short DONT GO TO THEM their liars and greedy don't fix anything just sit up and flirt with the receptionist. i was up there December 9th 2016, for a overheating problem and i knew it was just the thermostat because it was just a bad thermostat. so assuming they fixed it, they called me later that day and told me that they fixed the thermostat but they noticed i had a head gasket issue on my car. it will cost $1852.18 to fix my car with the head gasket test, resurface gasket, and head gasket set. so i asked how he knew that and he said that he just knew, "its obvious because my car overheats and just because i think it's a thermostat issue, there's more things wrong with my car that i know and my car will blow up if i continue driving it". so i went to go pick up my car and noticed on the receipt that they didn't charge me for a head gasket test- which for one, he shouldn't call a customer saying something major is wrong with their car without running a test to make sure that is something wrong with the car. there's a test for that. also, i noticed that when he called me he only said there was the head gasket issue and i declined the service for that, on the bottom, he was also going to charge me for a block test for $49.99 and a blower motor for 139.99 that wasn't mentioned at all in the phone call about the head gasket. i added up all the items i declined including the head gasket test and all that, it only added up to $975.95 not $1852. and once i got into my car heading down 40 hwy, i noticed there was antifreeze splashed all over my windshield and i pulled over to see why my car was smoking under the hood, it was because there was antifreeze burning all over under the hood. i was able to drive my car back to my house only to realize it broke down completely in 3 days. Last week, I was finally able to take it to a garage, they called me and explained to my why my car was not starting correctly was because antifreeze was all in my fuze box that was causing it to not start or circulate correctly and my car had a oil leak which i had my oil changed a week before i came to calverts. So I highly recommend Dilday Automotive and Marine for honest work.

PLEASE DONT TRUST THESE PEOPLE WITH YOUR CAR !!! I went in for a simple oil change after I received a $14.99 oil change coupon in the mail. After waiting 40 minutes or so, the manager of the shop brought me a long list of things that needed to be fixed on my car. On that list was BRAKES...(Mind you) I wasn't having any issues with my brakes prior to coming into the shop. He told me that I would be needing brakes really soon. I told the manager that I didn't have $300 to get them today. 15 minutes later, my car was done. When I got into my car I noticed that something didn't feel right when I braked. I actually had to push the brake completely down to the floor in order to get my car to stop. I almost ran into the back of someone's car because I was not used to that. I took my car back up to the shop and noticed that my car was actually leaking something. I told the manager and he said, "we didn't touch your brakes, all we did was change your oil." I told him I wasn't having any problems with this before I came in. He was completely rude about it and offered no help. Long story short, I contacted the district manager of that location and all he had to say was, " we offer free brake inspections" SURE.. you do.. THESE PEOPLE WILL SABATOGE YOUR CAR IN ORDER TO MAKE MONEY. I took my car to a REAL mechanic and they said I had a hole in the brake line or something like that. He told me my car was not safe to drive until I got it fixed. This is one situation I know was NOT a coincidence. If you bring your car here you will walk out with more problems with your car than you came in with. Its all a money thing.

This place is a scam ! I went to get brake work done and my breaks still make a horrible noise . When I took it back up there they told me it was because cheap break pads were used . And it isn’t like I provided brake pads . I paid them to do the work and they used their own parts ! Just for my car to sound the same way it did when I brought it in . I will be calling cooperate , I hate when SCAM ARTISTS take advantage of hard working people. I work at a law firm so they’ve definitely ran into the wrong client this time . Take your car to people who will do the job right! And this is not the place !

Went here for a SIMPLE oil change yesterday (since they had a "special" going on.) Here comes some random mechanic handing me an invoice of $690! He tells me I needed a wheel alignment. Lie! I had JUST had a wheel alignment done a month ago due to me getting 2 new tires! 2 weeks before that I had a brake job done AND my tires rotated! Then to add insult to injury, I had the other 2 tires replaced in August, so I have ALL new tires that comes with a complimentary alignment. Fishy right? Then he goes on to tell me I needed inner/outer tie rods! Hmm. Considering that Tires Plus gave me 2 new tires in August, I had a brakes put on, AND Firestone gave me 2 other new tires, I'm pretty sure they wouldn't have put tires on worn tie rods! Also, when I was leaving out of the parking lot my front end tires felt a little shaky. I believe one of the guys loosened up my lugs or something on that end. If he did, he will surely wish he hadn't! This place has NO CLIENTELE and these guys are MONEY HUNGRY! DO NOT bring your car here!!!!!!!!!!

Typical scare tactics to overcharge you for unnecessary services. They really did themselves in with me from my last visit, trying to charge me nearly $800 to do a bunch of work I really did not need done. Turned that BS $800 charge into a $200 fix by going to a reasonable auto shop. Don't recommend wasting your money or time here.

I’ve read some of the other reviews And I find Disappointing that many of the negative reviews are based on price. I’m not sure in today’s world that there’s anything like an inexpensive car repair. This is my second time here and the mechanics and service lead have taken me into the garage and showed me exactly what the issues are. They’ve gone as far as to show me what is necessary and what items could wait. They’ve also showed me other areas of concern that may or may not be related to the issue I brought the car in for. Therefore, they have given me options both times as to what course of action I would like to take. In fact, they even offered potential inexpensive alternatives if certain problems reoccurred. I found their prices to be quite competitive even without coupons. I think the service manager’s name was Jamie, if you have questions he seems extremely knowledgeable and willing to take the time. The only reason I give it a four surrounds the General reception area, the chairs were pretty disgusting, I’m not sure they spend much time cleaning it and there was a borderline questionable movie playing on the TV when there were kids in the waiting area. Sometimes it’s small things like that. As for the car repair, everything seems to be great, fair prices, and quick service.

I have been going to Calverts on 40 Highway in Kansas City, MO for the past 1 1/2 years. The service is always above any other shop I have dealt with! One of the managers Brian is always very attentive to any questions I have. The waiting area and the bathrooms are ALWAYS clean, which I think is key to making people comfortable while they wait. I strongly recommend if you want an friendly, knowledgeable and reasonably priced shop to take you check them out!

Went to use it and they couldn't find it so i was told that they would look for it and that i can use it the next time today i called and was told i cant use it that it was the computer that wouldn't let them push it through. And the lady was rude. I will not be going back to them. And just think they started a real estate company lol hate to see how that plays out.

This is my go-to when I need an oil change. The receptionist was very courteous and helpful. She said the wait would be 90 minutes but it ended up being shorter. On a side note, I would not bother with the Raytown store. I went their first but no one was at the front desk and the receptionist was short with me. Plus the wait was 2 1/2 hours. So skip the Raytown location and go to this one.

In Jan 2016 I came to get hub and alignment done. I paid over 200 to get it done. Two days later my car was worse. I went back he said it coulde be anything. Never fixed the problem. One month later I went to Firestone and told me that I need a hub and alignment, whoever put it on wrong, didn't do it correctly. So I had to get the same work done again, but the correct way. Never going back again to Calvert express. They need to hire people who knows how to fix cars and not make them worse.

The longest 4 hours of my life. I went to this location on my way to work one day when my wheel started to make a screeching sound. They worked me in quickly to tell me the issue and said it would take about 3 to 4 hours to repair. An hour later they tell me that another part that connects to the broken part is also damaged and needs replacing. I gave consent to the repair since it is my only vehicle and I need it to get to work. I continue to wait in the lobby while seeing many customers come and go. I arrived around 8:15 AM that morning and at around 4 PM they inform me that they may not finish the repair the same day but that it will be completed on the next business day. So I find a ride home and wait. The next business day I call several times and ask for updates, and all they ever say is that they are working on it. At the end of the day I get a call stating that they need to replace the whole part, not just the pieces of it the originally suggested. I was also informed that the part may not come in for a couple of days. I was assured that I would receive updates on the progress of my car. The next day I called late in the afternoon because I had not heard from them at all. The person on the phone said he would find out the status of my part and call me back. I never received a call back. I called again and got a similar response, basically telling me it would arrive the next day. When I asked him why I didn’t received a call back from the previous employee I was given the excuse that “it has been one of those days”. For anyone who knows anything about customer service you know this statement is an unacceptable response to any customer. Finally, on day five I receive a call in the afternoon that my car is ready. I was assured that I would be picked up when the service was complete and when I asked them when they would pick me up they replied it would be about an hour and half. So I walked. So I am left with both a set of questions and conclusion. How come my situation was not a priority? Why did it take them so long to find the correct part to replace? Why did they never perform the call backs that I requested? Why did this job take five days to complete? This repair cost me four days of work, my weekend, and the cost of the repair itself. It’s only fair to charge someone for the service when you deliver it within the timeframe promised. If I had known everything I know now, I would have never bothered with this place. It appears I am not the first to discover this. If you have a major repair, don’t go here. You may be without your vehicle for days, while the mechanics do tire rotations, plugging tires, brake jobs, and oil changes leaving your vehicle on a lift giving the appearance it is being worked on. Don’t be deceived as the staff at this location are kind, but only to get people to consent to repairs at which point you can kindly wait forever.

Do not TRUST these people and do not go here. This is the typical auto place that will lie and try to charge you for work that does not need to be done. I took my father in laws car in for an inspection which is taken car of at the dealer every oil change. They said it would not pass and I needed work to be done, I knew better and took it to Missouri Highway Patrol and they reinspected and absolutely nothing wrong with the vehicle, So they stamped my inspection and had to take back and get my sticker, Hopefully they will get fined and stop doing this to people.

This guys are awesome. They're the best in Kansas city. They were recommended to me by another auto service. You will be amazed at how fast they are on getting your car fixed. I was told that I needed a timing belt, I was charged for an entire kit. Not that it matters that a kit was recommended, it was the fact that I wasnt told about it. So instead of having a timing belt replaced, I had a water pump, pulley and other things added to my bill. I have gone here for years, but I will not be returning. I am currently taking my car BACK because the engine is SUPER loud. Disappointed.

I came here to get a safety inspection and they failed due to safety issues. So I had them fix the issues but they said I needed a headlight assembly but they will have to order it they assisted that I just pay them now but to come back after Christmas because it would take sometime to get the part. So I paid 150 dollars. But I had return the vehicle back to the dealer because i found out they sold me a car that was salvage. So when I tried to get my money back for the part they said they will ask Corporate. Corporate contacted them back and told them I cant have my money back. Now I am going to file a complaint with Missouri Attorney General Josh Hawley and the BBB because I should be able to get my money back for the part because they did not do any service and I paid in advance.

I took my truck in for an oil change a couple weeks ago. They found an oil leak. They were "so busy" they couldn't even write and estimate for me. The manager said he would call me back with an estimate. He called back and after listing off a BUNCH of things the total was $1226!! He aske me to come back on Tuesday so he could take another look at it. So, I took my truck back and GOOD NEWS it is only going to cost $750. I definely did not feel comfortable with that eithe because of the way the manager tried to make it seem like such a deal on the labor. I took my truck to J. Howard Automotive on E. Truman Rd. Best decision I have ever made. He was awesome! He found that the only reason I was leaking any oil was because of the plug that apparenly the morons at Calvert's didn't replace correctly the last time they changed my oil 3 months earlier. Thank you J. Howard Automotive for saving mem $750!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I would never, ever, ever recomend Calvert's to anyone!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I am thinking about to Calverts Express today to get my breaks done. I have had an estimate that I paid for. I will see if Calverts is lower, higher. Will see if Calverts has the same diagnosis as the other car shop. I have also been looking at firestone reviews online, both seem skeptical, but we will see.

I have never been to THIS location but... I do KNOW they are COMPLETE RIP OFF people!!!! A vehicle was taken in to a different location to see what was causing it to "shake" SOO badly when trying to drive it. THEY said all kinds of things NEEDED replaced in the front end parts.. Estimated the charge at about 350.00. I then took it to a friend who also works for an auto repair, and...... the problem was... ONE bad TIRE!!!!! Also.. They do NOT honor their "so called" oil change special prices. When you go, they ALWAYS find and "exclusion" . So in ending, my advice would be ...Do NOT go there!!!!!!

This place is a Scam don’t go here told me that my brake lines are out and I drove perfectly there with a brand new car try tell me a power steering is failing whenever it’s a brand new car and I went to get an inspection and an oil change told me a cost $1000 don’t trust this place is nothing but a big scam!!!! Don’t worry I called corporation I’m talking to your HR some one getting fired or I’m going straight to fox 4 news kc!

Wow, I should have listened to the reviews, but this was a convenient location so I brought my car in to fix a nail in the tire. They told me it was unfixable and wanted to sell me a 300 dollar tire. I took it to another shop and they said it was an easy patch and fixed it for a fraction of the cost. Either dishonest or incompetent, avoid this place.

Do not go to this place. They did a bait and switch on brake work. They also stole a gift card and charger out of my car. They riffled through my glove box and left everything on the seat. When I called about my stolen property they denied it. Speaking with corporate about this issue but don't expect any resolution

Told "receptionist" my brakes were squeaking. She asked me if it was front or back. I said front i think. Im NOT A MECHANIC! $300 later I have new front rotors and pads. After I paid, the mechanic says "oh, it squeaks. Thats in the rear". Are you kidding me! I am sure I needed the work that was done but none of it was why i brought it in. I started out with my brakes are squeaking.

Had a brake inspection and when I got home smoke was coming out of the engine compartment. I raised the hood and there was fluid everywhere, I looked and the brake fluid cap was not on correctly. They claimed they never removed it. I guess it was the brake fluid fairy.

It's a good place for all your car needs but they are money hungry like someone else posted. Also I came at 12:45 for an oil change and there were only 2 customers in the lobby and they said they were not taking any more customers today because they were full. It's really sad that you can't get good car care from honest mechanics that won't lie and bleed you to death.
