They lied to my face. Looked me straight in the eye and stated there would be no charge for a tow to thier lot, then charged me anyway. They made eggregious errors when they changed the oil in my car (namely, not refilling the oil) as a result, the engine blew less than 24 hrs later, for which they took zero accountability. When I called to discuss the claim, the Manager refused to divulge the name of their insurance company, insulted me and while chuckling, said "take us to court". I don't recommend Plymouth Tire & Auto to anyone.

They always give their recommendations and are always honest about the work that needs to be done, never making something out of nothing or upwelling any services. They do a great job explaining issues to regular folks. They’ve also more than once done a few small items for no charge while my car was in. Really trustworthy shop. I’ve moved a few times since I came to the Twin Cities but I still always bring my car out to Plymouth to know I’m getting good service!

I stopped in to have my tire pressures checked. The Service Manager was rude and argued with me if it was really necessary when my low tire pressure indicator light was not on. I explained multiple times the tire pressure reading showing on my dashboard was only 28 psi, but he choose to ignore that fact for several minutes. After he asked several unnecessary questions, like the make and model of my car, do I have a tire pressure gauge (no), he finally told me to drive down to the third bay but I might wait have to wait several minutes for a service tech.....and if I didn't want to wait, I could go to Holiday and do it myself. Not only was it 8 degrees outside, but I can not physically check tire pressures myself .... thus the reason I stopped into the shop. Based on my experience, I would never bring my car in for service.

The job always gets done right, but definitely not the cheapest in town. Make sure you know what your car needs BEFORE going in otherwise you'll get overcharged. I had a squeaky belt and ended up replacing an exhaust system which didn't solve the problem. Valvoline replaced the culprit belt for over $50 cheaper than Plymouth Tire and Auto. Been burned too many times here, going elsewhere.

They are human and do make mistakes, but I find if you take the time to discuss an issue, they always find a solution. If I don't have a warranty, this is the only shop I use.

Just be careful, these guys managed to get my wife to pay nearly $500 to replace an alignment bolt under the guise of promising to do it as cheaply as possible. After checking with my mechanic, this work would have been less than half the cost there whether it was an easy replacement or tougher job. Don't take my word for it, but please do get a second quote. Just because these guys put your tires on doesn't mean you should trust them with any additional work.

I can not recommend Plymouth Tire and Auto strongly enough. They do excellent work and are truly dedicated to top notch customer service. One of the things that impresses me the most is their honesty - unfortunately this isn't a common trait anymore - but at Plymouth Tire it is. On multiple occasions we've had one of our two vehicles there for an issue that I thought could be big and Paul (I think the manager) actually recommended the least expensive route. These guys are fantastic.

Literally rolled in with a dead engine downhill from Hwy 55 into their parking lot on a Friday evening. To my surprise and delight, the mechanics came out and helped push my car into the garage and they were able to fix it as they closed and we’re happy to do so. I was then able to get back on the road to get home for the weekend. I can’t say enough good things about them all! Thank you for being my heroes that night!

My car was making a "rattle" sound and Toyota gave me some bad advise. So, I brought my car to Plymouth Tire & Auto Center. After they looked at my car, they found tire had cupped, which was causing the problem. Beause my tires are still in good condition, they didn't push me in getting new tires. My boyfriend went into this location at 8:10am on The Thursday of the polar vortex. Our tire was almost flat and we were intending to pump it at the gas station next door. When we saw the hose was gone, we were desperate and went into this location and asked if they would pump our tire. After staring at the back of the “salesman’s” head for the length of his conversations with another employee, he proceeded to tell him the compressor doesn’t work but wanted to fix our tire/sell us one. My boyfriend said how can you fix our tire if your compressor doesn’t work? He said “well what are you going to do if your tire pops on the way to work?” The point is he was just trying to sell us something instead of being nice and helping us. We had to drive to 4 other gas stations before we found one that finally worked. Never stop here if you’re thinking someone will be nice and help you out.

I just started working down the road from here and needed somewhere to get new brakes while avoiding taking days off of work. I dropped off my car with them this morning and they not only replaced my brakes in a timely and cost-effective manner, but found a nail in my rear passenger side tire and patched that for me as well. My car started making a strange noise. I called and asked if they could take a look that afternoon. They were upfront and told me they could look at it, but depending on the issue might not be able to fix it. It ended up being an easy fix, but they also took the time to show me what the problem was, and recommended a fix that was actually saved ME money vs something that could have made them more money. Mike and Paul helped me that day, and I really can't recommend them anymore. You'll be taken care of, not taken advantage of!

Did a pre-purchase inspection. They missed the air bag light on the dash and bad wheel bearings (showed signs before I brought it to 'em). They wanted to charge $190 for replacing two gas shocks for the hood - $30 in parts, 20-30 minutes for both. They also wanted $450 + 89 for tie rod ends and an alignment - Should be around $100-150 less. Basically over priced and missed some pretty basic things to notice on a test drive and inspection. Went to 'em for convenience, now I will have to pay for it on a vehicle I bought three days back.

Mike and the team at PT&A provided immediate counsel and got me in the same day. They let me know of my options and their recommendation which included that some things didn’t actually need to be done. I so appreciated that while they could have come back with a lengthy and pricey To Do list, they didn’t. That is integrity. That is why I will return to this business. Thanks so much!

DO NOT COME to this place. We used to change oils and do regular maintenance there for more than 10 years and were happy for the services. BUT, several years ago looked like the ownership/management was changed and new faces there. They charge you more every time. Have not been there for 3 or 4 years. Thought to try it again and see if any changes, but still the same. Called before sent car in and told exactly what need to do and car's year and model, and asked for the cost. After the work was done they charged more, just added on this and that reasons. They just want to charge you more. That's it. Talked to some neighbors, all have similar stories. Never come to this place again.

Honest business & good service. I have been to auto services where you go for an oil change and they try to fleece you into buying more expensive services. Been to Plymouth Tire & Auto mainly for repairs - they are always been very reasonable, never tell a lie to fleece you into buying something else. And the work is always top notch. I was typically doing oil changes myself or going to mobil 1 - now that they have dropped prices for Full Synthetic oil - $59 - this will be my place for oil change next time.

Experienced a blown tire exiting 494 north at Hwy. 55 west and the first place to pull over safely was a bank. When I got out of the car and looked up to see that wonderful "Goodyear" building next door. The guys were great to lend us a wrench in place of my missing tire iron. (I know how precious tools are to mechanics so I'm very thankful to whoever entrusted me with his Snap-on!) They sent out for the tire I needed and got it all done in amazingly short order. Very thankful for your services guys! I'll be back.

My experience was bad and I won't ever use them again. Went in for an allignment, then they tried to tell me everything was wrong with my suspension, which wasn't true since I do my own work. The alignment wasn't done right and they tried to charge me for 4 wheels when I only said to do two, they never asked for upcharge. Anyway, my steering wheel is still crooked. They couldn't even get that right. *Edit* since I don't know how to reply to the shop below. Are you suggesting I am some random idiot writing a negative review? Let me tell you who I am: I do the weather on Channel 5 and am the meteorologist for Minnesota United. I am responsible for being truthful and accurate to hundreds of thousands of people every day. I live in Plymouth and participate in community events and absolutely love it here. I am born and raised in Minnesota. Graduated from Mounds View High School. Played college basketball. I have two science degrees. I am a member of New Hope Church and seek to serve others. If you are suggesting doubt and that I may be in error regarding my review on your shop, or am somehow being misleading or writing a negative review out of anger and wanting revenge--I assure you that is NOT the case. I wish the best for everyone, including you. However, that does not mean I hope you make a bunch of money continuing in what I experienced as shady and dishonest, for money only enhances who we are. Rather I hope you change and serve others for their benefit, THEN make a boat load of cash:). Look, I'm just a guy who knows just enough about cars, and have enough experience with good and bad shops through my life to know exactly what you are doing. In all fairness, I do not know if my experience was an isolated case and if you were the person I dealt with or one of your employees. I am merely writing a review based on my experience here. If it was just an employee and not you, that really doesn't change anything since they are your representative. Just like if I behave badly in public, I could (and should) be fired since I represent my TV station. Whether you find my account or not is irrelevant to me since I refuse to even drive the 2 miles down the road and have you fix my allignment. The work was done last fall and I've grown to appreciate the crooked steering wheel as it's now a constant reminder of who I do not want to be, and motivates me to be better. Yes, I could easily fix it, but I really don't want to. And plus, your guy made one too many comments about the "plastic" on my ball joint and don't want to hear it again. I ripped a small tear in the boot and wrapped several plastic bags around with zipties to hold in the grease. While the guy at your shop suggested this was a problem, I have to say after a long harsh winter, the "plastic" has done surprisingly well! Even seems to work better than the original boot!
