Dwayne and Staff always take care of me.
A few weeks back, my wife had struck an object which caused a fast leak to her tire. She needed same-day service. Her vehicle was on the opposite end of Dual Hwy and obviously needed the work done ASAP. She tried two chain providers off of Dual (should be enough to tell you who) and they wanted $1250-$1500 for 4 tires/labor and that she would have to leave her vehicle. She needed the same-day and both turned her away, not even offering any courtesy air. Thankfully, she was able to limp the vehicle to Byrd. Their quote came in $500 less and they could offer same-day service. They even drove her home after the drop off. To top it off, we received a call an hour later that they were able to safely patch the tire. A $1300 bill turned to $800 turned to $35. You can't beat that honesty and customer service. Any of these other shops could have ripped us off; also when they realized they weren't getting the business, they shunned my wife away during an incredibly inconvenient time. Byrd has more than earned our loyalty and business for life so long as they keep up these standards. Thank you again! EDIT: I gave prices for transparency and this applies to my situation only. Obviously, these types of issues change on a case-by-case basis. Please do not interpret the prices I gave as the cost of their services.
These guys, although aren't the cheapest in town, are WORTH their prices! Fast, friendly and thorough! I've found my new mechanic!!!
Friendly but expensive
They're the best at what they do.... Very honest,,, know thier products inside and out
all the staff at Byrd tire we're passionate at what they do and beyond extremely knowledgable at their profession!
Outstanding customer service at a fair price.
Real stand-up guys. Won't do you wrong. Fantastic service, 5 stars.
They were fast friendly and informative. Helped me make my decision on buying a car. Appreciate all the help they gave me.
Top notch friendly professionals with the know how and equipment to do it right the first time at a reasonable price. After five different tire shops and two completely different sets and brand of tires they checked the truck over, balanced the tires right, and explained what they found. Now it rides true, straight, and my hands and kidneys don't fall asleep!
I would give this place no stars if I could the only thing I could say is that they were open noting more
Where do I begin? I made a road trip here from Colorado to visit family mostly and I have a few stops to make in other states before I head back home. I recently had some front end issues that destroyed one tire and had been wearing pretty hard on another after making the bad one my spare. I had replaced some parts which corrected the issues and had an alignment done to prevent further wear. Anyway, after driving here it looked like the worst worn tire wouldn't survive the trip back and the spare was shot so I decided I'd better get some new tires. I called Byrd this morning to price a set. After calling a handful of other places I soon realized they were the only shop in the area that had the tires I needed in stock. I called back, curious as to how soon I could have them installed expecting to be told I'd need to wait a few days. They gave me an appointment for this afternoon to my surprise (it's Friday). They were kind, highly knowledgeable, fairly priced, and took the time (well past their closing time) to clearly explain everything I had a question about. They even swapped the best tire I had left to the wheel for the spare, which is the ugliest of the bunch. It wasn't necessary and I didn't ask them to do so but they treated my vehicle as they would their own and it didn't go unnoticed! If everyone did business the way they do the world would be a better place! I can't thank them enough!!!
Great service, VERY HELPFUL!
As a business owner my time is very valuable, that is why we have become regular customers at Byrd Tire & alignment, we inspect and service our work vehicles here, they posses excellent customer service skills, along with efficiency and knowledge in a timely manner, not to mention their fair prices. I most definitely recommend this place for your future automotive repair needs.
Byrd Tire very professional and courteous to all of the clientele they know about tires and alignments and many other automotive products and services
I’ve used these folks twice for emergency tire repairs and they’ve come through and consistently been the best priced.
I did a vehicle inspection on my 2011 f150. I went smoothly, no issues, staff was friendly and I was in and out in a little over an hour.
Certainly not the best tire purchase/experience. The Continental tires I purchased are failing at 30k miles. Dwayne blames the dealership and maintenance schedule dictated by Volvo. According to Dwayne, the dealership is lying to me about rotating the tires and servicing the car correctly as stated on the service documentation. He had an excuse for everything about the tires and didn't want to do anything but give me a hard time about it. I have lost all respect for Byrd Tire and will not go back again. I strongly suggest going some place else that stands behind the product they sell.
Great service and very thorough. Was able to fit me in same day. Definitely recommend
This place was great. We picked up a nail at some point on our travels and pulled in with no appointment one afternoon to have it removed and the tire patched. They did so quickly and for a fair price. Oh, and they had free Wi-Fi. I hope you never get stuck in Hagerstown with a leaking tire, but if you do, this is the place to go.
Extremely accommodating and professional. As long as I live in the area, this will be my "go-to" shop
In February of this year I had a set of Bullit wheels shipped to Byrd Tire. They contacted me promptly and I stopped by so Dwayne and the guys could install a set of all weather tires. I stopped by 500 miles later where the guys hand tightened the lugnuts for the sake of safety. Yesterday I stopped in for my free 5000 mile rotation ( I drive about 9000 miles a year). At all three visits, Dwayne and his crew showed exemplary knowledge, courtesy, and promptness. Honestly, I have been conditioned to not expect much from a tire buying experience and dealing with Byrd Tire has shown me that buying tires can be a textbook business relationship. If only all my other car maintenance issues could go as smoothly as this! AND they were competitively priced ! What more could you want?
I've now had 3 bad experiences here.. 1st called on a Saturday and asked if the could change a mower tire for me. They said yea come on in so I grabbed the tire and was there in 5 mins. Got there about 12 waited around for 45 mins finally brought my mower wheel and tire back to me to inform me that they weren't gonna have time to do it. After I spent about an hour of my Saturday waiting on them to change it because they said they would. 2nd took a car in for an alignment. After waiting about an hour for them to try and get it on a lift because it was "to low" they came out and told me they couldn't do it because of a bad control arm. I asked how much a new one was. They said they couldn't get the part. So i asked how much to replace it if I get the part and bring it in? They said they wouldn't install parts not order thru them so I took my business elsewhere. Today I wanted to give them one last chance. Took my car and 2 tires I had purchased privately to get mounted on the back wheels of my car and have the front 2 re balanced while they had it in the shop. I gave them my keys and went to sit outside. After about an hour they finally came out and pulled my car in the shop. About another hour went by so I walked inside to see what was taking so long. The guy gave me grief saying my lug nuts were over tightened and they couldn't get a wheel off. Even though they were tightened the same way the other 3 wheels were. Finally after about another hour and some more excuses they pulled my car out. 3 hours I waited to have 2 tires changed and 2 just taken off and balanced. Should've been a half hour job. I was also charged $150 for this, 2 tires that I had installed and all 4 balanced. Also while I was there a lady walked in that said she had an appointment to get a headlight replaced and he told her he wasn't going to have time and she would have to bring it back another day. Horrible service and I will not go back
Very efficient and trustworthy. Nice people!
Had a truck inspected failed for a couple small problems no big deal the owner Dwayne Crawford had a big problem with us not getting them to do the work so we returned to get it inspected again and failed is again for the same thing after parts were replaced he is vary rude and vary unpleasant to deal with would not recommend for anything
These guys are crooks. 50$ to switch a rim from one tire to the other and its not even on the car.. 2 months ago i needed the samething done only that time the tires were on the car and it only cost 36$ . Doesnt add up. There crooks. Ill take my business to Mays. Family owned and cheaper. Way cheaper. Only 15$ to switch rims.
I feel really bad because I wrote a bad review about this garage about a year ago when I got my oil changed there. When I dropped my car off to get it serviced the manager on duty was really nice. I was really excited that I was able to drop my car off and pick it up the next day because of their busy schedule. I drove in from Florida to visit family and so on my trip up the east coast I decided I would load my cd player full of 6 separate cd's to listen to along the way to make the ride a little more enjoyable. (so I knew when I dropped my car off that those cd's were in my cd player) When I picked my car up the following day to head back to Florida I noticed that my cd's were showing up blank and nothing would play as though there wasn't even a cd in the player at all. I feel bad because I thought the guys in the garage may have taken my cd's out and they were gone for good. I came to realize months later when driving my car the cd player just started playing out of the blue and all my cd's were in the player, the electrical system just showed up like they were empty slots because of a system malfuntion from not having my oil light reset when I left there that day. I am soooooo.... SORRY for ever thinking that about any of you and really feel the need to sincerely appologize for my bad actions. Please forgive me.
$44 for a repair to a very slow leak. The guy found a tiny piece of metal in my back tire. I don’t expect people to work for free but that seems like a lot. He couldn’t figure out how to reset the warning system. I have a newer car. He went into the menu of my car and ended up changing several settings that he should’ve never touched. I will not be going back there.
Its unbelievable!!! Went to do my md inspections and the inspector decided to not pass my inspections just because something on the bottom of my car it was dirty! So I paid and he told me to reschedule and for to come on Monday!. So Monday they call me and say that the inspector is out and that I will have to reschedule again... I said okay... I then proceed to again reschedule for next day and then they call me saying that he will be put again!!! Like are you serious!!!!
Yup ended up having to buy a one $16.00 wiper blade doesn't work as good as the $4.00 blade from Wal-Mart told the electric windows failed even though I went out to car and it was working fine
Went to Byrd tires on Friday September 21st to get an inspection for my truck and it failed no big deal. so I went and had the parts replace.went back on Monday September 24th and again he failed it again for the same thing. Dwayne Crawford is a very nasty person to deal with. He is rude when it comes to woman. He needs to take classes for customer service and anger management to. I will never go back and I wouldn't recommend any one to go there.
I recently had a large amount of work done to my truck. I cannot say enough good things about the employees of Byrd. I received very high quality work at a very fair price. My questions were answered to my satisfaction and any issues that I had were promptly addressed. I will not hesitate to deal with Byrd again and I encourage anyone looking for quality work at a fair price to give them a try.
These guys are great!!! Bought my tires here. Just recently had them rotated. They let me bring my dog in while waiting!!!! Great guys!!!!
Very nice and I was in and out.
they charged me a lot more for an alignment than they told me over the phone, then, on top of that, they charged me 28 dollars for "shop supplies" which they told me was paper towels and propane for a torch that was used to break lose rusty bolts. paper towels don't cost more than ten cents, and i know they didn't need to use the torch to break rusty bolts because i had just had every single one of those bolts out a few days before, hence the reason for an alignment. don't call them asking their prices, they will you they are cheaper than they actually are. and don't send your wife to take the car in, they love to take advantage of women and charge them more. did i mention my wife had to wait 3.5 hours for the alignment when they said it would take just over an hour? she was even there 10 minutes before her appointment. don't let their new sign fool you, these guys are just in it to make as much money off you as possible.
I brought my car in for an oil change and tire rotation. I was very impressed with the service I received. The owner was very knowledgeable and treated me with respect. As a woman I sometimes worry that I will be taken advantage of by mechanics, but Byrd Tire was very honest and didn't try to charge me for any unnecessary work. I would definitely recommend them for any woman that is skeptical of repair shops like I am.
I stopped by first thing one morning without an appointment before the big snow storm was coming and they were able to get new tires put on for me. Gary and Dwayne were very accommodating and the service was excellent. I plan to take my business to them in the future and recommend that everyone in Hagerstown and beyond gives them a shot. Thanks guys!
Wonderful service and people
They were very prompt and professional.I had a very good experience. I had my car state inspection done.
Didn't like that fact that i had to call just to get a price on a tire, so i went with another shop that allows me to compare prices online before i start making phone calls
These people are very honest and friendly and go above and beyond with service
After trying a number of other tire stores in town for tires and auto repair, I found these guys and have been so happy with their service etc. They have been able to take care of me in a jam, they have been very fair on price and have been honest when they had an opportunity to take advantage. I will continue to go here, and recommend them to anyone.
This place does have a friendly staff, but they didn't take care of my vehicle issues and I had to go some place else. They charged me for a new ball joint, but they actually never replaced it. I brought my car there 3 times over a course of a week and they could not fix the issue. They finally said there was nothing they could do. I ended up going to Kurshner's Automotive in Williamsport. John from from Kurshner's Automotive called over to Byrd to let them know the issue and why they charged me for work they didnt do ... and they hung up on him. I wouldn't take my car to this place, but I do recommend Kurshner's Automotive.
Honest and trustworthy. They have demonstrated these qualities repeatedly.
Honest staff and willing to work with you to get what you want and need. Very friendly and quick.
Scheduled an appointment, showed up and they told me it was going to take 1-1.5 hours. Waited an hour and they hadn't even started. Took my car and left. Will not be going back.
Super fast and friendly service! Would highly recommend.
We were on our way back to Pittsburgh from the Bethany Beach when our engine light went on a mile before the Hagerstown exit. It was 8AM with no appointment and they had us back on the road by 10:30. Staff was super friendly and helpful-even good to my kids. Couldn’t be more pleased with our experience. Gene and Duane were the experts who helped us.
Excellent service. Thanks!
Good work
Very good and timely service.
Have been going to Byrd for six years. They are family friendly and know what doing on cars and trucks.
Very honest and willing to take the time to explain everything to you. Highly recommend taking your vehicle here. They treat you like a person and wont break your bank..
Very polite and prompt
Excellent! From the front desk to the shop....these people know their job!
This place has an amazing customer service. The staff are super professional and helpful. I went in because my tire pressure indicator showed a tire loosing air, They took the time to find the small nail that was causing a slow leak. No appointment was necessary and I was out within the hour. There are tire shops along the Dual Highway, and then there are AWESOME service shops, like Byrd's. I received nothing short of excellent service every time I went in. Also bought tires from them at a reasonable price.
The guys there are really friendly and offer great service.
Great service. They were very friendly and quick. Will definitely use them for tires in the future
I stopped by the other day to price out wheels and tires, near closing time the computers was conviently not working, fair enough. I was told I’d get a call the next morning, no call was ever made. So I called 3 times the first was a Typical reminder call, the second time I was told I was forgotten about and called back, the third time I was put on hold immediately and waited more than enough time for a response. They lost a sale of about $2,200 due to poor service. So I called blubaigh tire and within a 1 hour process of making sure they was available and me getting cash out of the bank my wheels and tires have been ordered ( and blubaugh was extremely busy). Save your self some fusteration and head up to blubaugh tire in Waynesboro pa thanks!
Told one price and then was charged another
Excellent service
Went in December to get new tires and they got them in the next day. Other then it goes down hill from there. They rushed the job....didn’t give me alignment. I paid $700+ for my tires but once I got my Jeep back my tire sensor was going off saying my PSI at 10. Just by looking you can tell the pressure is fine but the guy was like yea your senor was on before hand. Which it was not. Later to find out they just took out the sensor because they broke it. And it was about a $200 to fix. Take your business some where else.
Very expensive
My 18 year old son took his car there to get it Md inspected and soon after he left one of the hub caps came off due to not being put on correctly by the mechanic. Manager refused to reimburse him for the one hubcap and then hung up on his grandmother after she called them. Lost a customer over a hubcap.
It's always nice to find a business willing to take their time and actually do the job right and take care of their customers. Not just give you an excuse on why they can't complete the job. I was 2 hours from home with a car on my trailer. Ran into an issues and needed a tire replaced ASAP. Out of the 5 tire places I went to Byrd Auto was the only shop that was honest and willing to get the job done. Skip going to any of the other tire centers. Head straight here.
They installed the tires on time and balanced perfectly.... prices are fair too...
Pick somewhere else. Called in here to ask questions about coordinating approximately $1200 worth of guaranteed repair work for a business vehicle. Gentleman was very rude...”too busy” to take my call. Picking some place else and will give them the work. I will never take any of my personal vehicles here now either...ever.
Outstanding tire and automotive shop.
Great service. A new pressure sensor valve was too expensive for my budget. They removed the sensor and replaced the faulty valve and balanced the tire at no charge. I have done business with them in the past and will continue to do business with them in the future.
Great service and an even better deal. First time customer and now a customer for life
I had to get two new tires for my car. Called and they got me in the same day. The lady who runs the front is so sweet! One of the mechanics was at the front when I dropped my car off, and we chatted for a bit about our kids. Really nice, down to earth people! Had my car done in less than 45 minutes. Cost was fantastic! I have more work that needs done and I will definitely be using this business from now on.
Had to have a safety inspection of my car performed. They told me to just come on in without an appointment. They did the minor inspection in a couple minutes, and didn't charge me a penny. I was in & out in 10 minutes. 6 stars.
Excellent customer service !!!!!
This was my first time there and I am very impressed. I usually go to another place, but I was in a hurry and I noticed them as I was driving by so I decided to go in. It's the end of the day and they were close to closing time, but they did not turn me away despite that. They were very professional and helpful and I appreciate the fact that they help me out even though it was almost closing time. they offered some really good advice and also gave me some quotes on new tires which I am planning on purchasing from them. I'm definitely coming back and highly recommend them
#Awesome #always helpful #great staff
I love ppl servicing here
They really know how to take care of the customer.
Super easy getting an appointment and super friendly on the phone and when checking in. However, quoted price was not the same as over the phone (it was more). Asking any questions about what was done, and what still needed to be done, was apparently a mistake - was told that they were busy and to "just go home and have my husband call" so they could explain it to him and he could then explain it to me. . . guy at the counter then walked away and started talking to a man in the store. Ouch. . .
very unprofessional on the phone
