I was hesitant to take my car anywhere besides my usual mechanic, but I'm glad I did. The crew at VIP took really good care of me and did a great job installing some plus size tires on my Nissan Xterra. They walked me out and explained everything else they found underneath the truck and gave me a good estimate without being pushy or trying to up-sell me a bunch of random services. I brought my mother-in-law's Cherokee Jeep in for an oil change and the service was fast and they completed the oil change on a very timely basis. I was happy also because I was able to redeem a $10.00 off coupon I had received in an email. When she came home with the bill I reviewed it and noticed there was a couple of things on it that did not look right so I called the store. I spoke with the supervisor and we went through the invoice and he advised me that the pricing was correct and that my mother-in-law had received the 10% discount. I was still confused and questioning the bill so I drove down to speak to him. The supervisor was friendly and helpful and we both were able to agree that the price was correct because I was not aware of their regular price on a synthetic oil change. Once he explained this and that the oil change required an additional 6th quart of oil it was determined that the $10.00 discount had been deducted by discounting each of the five quarts of oil by $2.00. The supervisor was apologetic and thanked me for coming down to review the invoice with him. He did understand how one could get confused on the pricing on the invoice as the discount was hidden in the quarts of oil. Based on the service I received I will definitely go back to VIP.

was told they would leave my keys in my car so I could pick it up when they closed. When I stopped in the car was unlocked but no keys were in it(searched for 20 minutes). Very unreliable and disingenuous service. They also couldn't resolve my issue or even help me find a reasonable low cost solution to my problem. I came to them with a flat tire and when they told me my spare set wouldn't fit I asked if they could just replace the broken valve on the one flat tire. They simply said no because the flat had been driven on then proceeded to try to sell me 4 new tires. (flat was driven on for less then a mile). I fixed the flat tire myself in their parking lot and drove home. There are plenty of tire places in town; would recommend going to one that shows that they care about their customers and not just taking their money and selling them stuff they don't need.

Really nice place. Easy in and out. 99% of the time they're done when they say they will be. Waiting room is cheap plastic chairs and humming florescent lights. But the have a coffee machine and a TV with a Roku. Parents: Be aware of the hot wheels and toys near the checkout counter. EV drivers: No charger nearby, but they will do all the standard maintenance. I use them for tire/wheel changing from winter to summer tires.

They told me they could fix the problem I asked how much and how long? The gentleman said about $25 and about 25 minutes. Ended up having issues with either the hardware or the wheel installation (hard to say what was at fault) so the vehicle had to be taken back in, none the less, the crew at VIP gladly took the vehicle after a quick call and fixed the issue as fast as they could. Not only did they fix the wheel issue they installed a few other after market parts free of charge. Highly recommend this shop to everyone for all types of automotive service!

They fixed the immediate issues for my vehicle and even did a complimentary welding fix for my exhaust system. And while the man I worked with was great, cheerful, and fun to chat with, his partner at the desk seemed the opposite, grumpy and agitated. (Probably because he was newish or had a bad day? Perhaps more at home fixing cars than behind a counter...) They did a good job fixing the calipers, even though my brakes are much softer now compared to before. And the complimentary weld seems to have fixed exactly what it needed to despite not having been quality checked. Though seeing as it otherwise would've cost me roughly $700 for the parts alone (it already was costing $800 with 3/5 of that labor costs as usual) to get the whole exhaust system replaced either way, the gesture was appreciated. Every time, regardless of what car shop or brand name I go to, unless I'm able to watch them work on my car while in the car or in the shop with them or they run it out of their own home, another issue near always pops up within 1 week after I get my car fixed, inspected, worked on, etc. VIP seems to be no exception as a few days nearly to the hour an electronic issue popped up seemingly randomly while I was driving. Coincidence? Maybe, but it's one of many in a long string. *Ranting in general now... (Not VIP specific, but includes VIP) This most recent problem that appeared while I was driving nearly got me killed as I was stuck on a hill in the middle of an unfamiliar road as it was getting dark and I nearly had to pay $200 (cash only, up front) for a tow. I don't know if it's a business practice of car shops to sabotage "minor" systems while fixing cars's more major systems, but I can only see benefit for them in doing so. As there's never sufficient proof of tampering that they don't control, never any warning signs of any issues before and immediately after the shops, and it always seems to show up within 2-7 days after leaving the shop, as though delayed somehow. I know it's a smart ploy for money, but please stop being so sleezy and greedy as to put lives in danger!!!! This most recent with VIP is just one of many like it in an ongoing string of missing car parts, clearly cut wires (claimed to have rusted/fallen off), fluid leaking/missing, electronic issues, etc. after being serviced by a mechanic. I'm not docking any stars though, because I wasn't able to watch their full 2 hours of work, and I'm not well acquainted with cars, and so have no verifiable proof either direction. As even cameras would struggle immensely to see tampering. Thanks for indulging my rant on car shops and my experiences with them. Overall, 4/5 star experience. Kind gestures, good service, one grumpy/agitated employee (not the one I worked with primarily thankfully), no known quality checks done after all work completed, brakes are softer than before (minor), and an electronic issue appeared nearly to the hour a few days after being serviced that got me stranded in a dangerous and foreign location. (But as the last one could be coincidence, no stars docked. (Despite my thoughts otherwise)) .

When I showed up, the gentleman at the counter said he could get me in "now", when his partner heard that he added, "Remember, we have a lady bringing in a flat that needs to get done right away". I went to VIP in Williston for an oil change and Vermont State inspection. From the moment I walked and was greeted until I walked out the door I watched a coordinated, well instructed, group of men with polite friendly attitudes moving from task to task, making sure customers were kept in the know and updated about what was happening with their vehicles. I was informed that they had found a slight alignment issue with my front tires. The test data was brought to me and it was my choice to have it dealt with immediately or to do it another time. I was given an approximate time frame and a quote for the additional work. I chose to have it done. There were other items they noted should be dealt with over the next few months but weren't as much of a priority. Those items I chose to deal with later. The man in charge (Nick I think) was dealing with computer issues, but was always calm, organized, pleasant and busy. His team appeared to follow his lead, tend to their duties and the customers with a smile. I won't hesitate to go to VIP in Williston again. Thank you.

Outstanding! I've taken the car into VIP three times since this shop opened, and I've been delighted all three times. Twice, I had the car there in an attempt to hunt down a problem that was elusive and that resisted being diagnosed. The manager, Nick, was friendly, took the time to communicate with me -- both asking questions and telling me what was going on -- and the technicians went above and beyond the call in an effort to find the malfunctions. Simply top notch. Standard service was equally good. The number of items that they check and verify during a standard 4-tire changeover is greater than I've experienced anywhere else. Yes, it takes a little longer, but when I leave, I know my car is going to work right. Communication is excellent. I feel well informed about the condition of my car without feeling pressured to have any work done. I was given enough information to make a decision about whether to do work (yes, because what they found matched some odd symptoms I'd noticed) or let it wait until the next bit of servicing. They've made a customer for life out of me in very short order.

I went there to have my summer tires put on. It took a bit over an hour. I was expecting it to be free, as the winter tires had been purchased from a VIP, and the VIP I had gone to previous (Littleton, NH) does complimentary tire changes as long as at least one set was bought at a VIP. Apparently at this site they will only give you a complimentary change when putting ON a set bought at VIP. I guess I should have clarified that beforehand. So I was a bit upset about paying $80 for it, and then when I got in my car to leave, I found a sheet they had left in the car (had not mentioned to me at the counter) saying that my wheel alignment had failed (front total toe and front camber). :(

Spent over one hour to "diagnose" my car issue. Said that it was an engine problem, and that they could t fix it and to bring it to the dealer or someone who specializes in engine repair. I asked if they checked spark plugs they said yes, it was not the spark plugs, and that it passed thier compression and diagnostic tests but they could hear a knocking so they thought my engine was failing.... I took my car to another garage and they found a faulty spark plug. Replaced and now my car runs like new. Sad that VIP couldn't diagnose a simple issue like this.

I went to VIP to have my winter tires put on, and I was so impressed by the fact they have Sunday hours! I work long days and can't usually get to a car dealership during regular business hours. I dropped the car off on Saturday evening and picked it up Sunday morning, and it was ready at the exact time I was told it would be. Had two tires broken, they let me tow my car to their place and leave it overnight. Next morning they ordered the tires and new alloy wheel and fixed it within a few hours. Woke up with a nail in my tire Thursday morning and called VIP and they got me right in. It took a total of 20 minutes to repair the tire and I was at work on time. The staff was super nice and kept me up to date on me car the entire time. Thanks again for everything, you guys are great!!!!

Recently visited this shop for service on my Daughters vehicle. Scheduled it for tires to be mounted( purchased elsewhere), and an Alignment. They found that both Ball joints were bad and needed replacement, so the Alignment would be a waste, instead of making me aware if this, they continued with the tire mounting, and when that was finished they then explained this issue with me. I have had good experiences at this shop in the past, and this tire work was done well. I would return again if service is needed, but i will ask to informed of any issues before any work is done.

3/1/19 Well only a day after my review, I received a call from the manager apologizing for how things went during my visit. He not only apologized, but will be refunding me the cost of the inspection. He explained that's not the way they do business & it will be addressed to the employees. I totally appreciated him calling & refunding me, cause good customer service means everything. Even when things go wrong in business, the way it's handled can make or break a business. It will let the customer know if they want to come back. After my whole experience, I think I'll give them a second chance, we all make mistakes! 2/25/19 Well, at first everything went fine. I am not from Vt, so I am not familiar with the inspection procedures. When I got the there the guy ask if I had insurance & I told him I did & that I would pull it up on my phone & show it to him, which I did. At the end of service he came & asked me for my registration & told me that I told him that I had it in the beginning and I told him no I did not, you only ask for my insurance and that's what I showed you. I explain to him that my registration was from Michigan & i did not have it with me. At that point he then explained that if he would have known that he wouldn't have been able to do the inspection & at that point he went to the back and I waited for them to pull my car out. Well when my husband & I got in the car, someone had open my glove box & everything was pulled out on the floor & on the seat, which was a total invasion of privacy and left it out to make it so bad. I'm not sure who to blame or what the purpose of it was. If I had the registration I would have shown it to them! However it was done & I'm very displeased.

I had to be towed to a AAA-certified auto shop last weekend. VIP was the only one in my town. I had never been, but I was super impressed. They were friendly and sympathetic when they heard I waited 2 1/2 hours to be towed out of the middle of nowhere. They checked out my car ASAP and made the necessary fixes to ensure my car was safe to drive. I have to get some work done on my car this month (inspection, tires, oil change), and I'm definitely heading back to them to get all that done. Highly recommend!!

Failed it and went back to get it reinspected after repairs and was told 3 other things were now needed to be fixed that the last guy should have caught easily and I am now failed for. Awesome team in Derry,N.H. Rob Lee and master mechanic Mike found an issue that I was having after toyota recall was finished. After 4 trips back to toyota with Toyota service dept starting that they could not find banging noise,Mike from VIP found 2 bolts under truck that were just barely hanging on. Because of the loose bolts, there was significant damage to the truck. So again I went back to Toyota and they fixed the problem with the truck and were all apologetic.. I had an 8am appt to change over my tires to winters, mount and balance and do a wheel alignment. I asked if they could add an oil change which they were happy to but the quote they gave me didn’t include the wheel alignment I asked for. Which was their mistake so they fixed it. It took over 2.5 hours for them to get my car close to done. I had mentioned I had an 8am appt time and the guy looked at me and said he didn’t get me checked in until 8:30. Needless to say almost 3 hours later I got my car back.

I went to VIP to get a tire valve stem replaced on one of my tires, of course it had the tps system (tire pressure sensor) so there were multiple possibilities, they were fast and informative and when the first one wasn't right and the sensor light stayed on, I called and talked to Nick and he told me to bring it back and they would try a different one. As they say, a fool and his money are soon parted. And they also say fool me once, shame on you; fool me twice, shame on me. Since I don’t feel like shaming myself, I won’t be taking a car here again. I brought my car over for an oil change and state inspection. First, they said my tires were completely unsafe even if they did pass inspection (which they would have) and gave me a quote for $400 in new tires. Then, the real fun started. After mentioning that I have some noise that sounds like an exhaust leak and my coolant is disappearing rapidly during the winter, they gladly took my keys and said they would look into it. Charged me over $120 for a “fluid leak test” that revealed nothing. Probably because they didn’t run the test with the heat on as I had requested. See, my coolant doesn’t disappear during the summer when the car’s heater isn’t running, just during the winter when the heater is on whenever the car is running. Either way, I got charged for them wasting their time and not doing much in the area of diagnostics. Then came the exhaust bit. $1,400 and change for essentially a new exhaust system (muffler, catalytic converters, pipes, and a separate quote on top of the $1,400 for the O2 sensors that they could break in the process), plus the broken sway bar they just so happened to come upon. I told them I would get a second opinion and picked up my car, to find out that they hadn’t even done the oil change. So, all I got out of my $120 bill was some technician letting me know that my leaking coolant system wasn’t leaking. What a waste of time and money. So, if you’ve read this far, just stay away from here. It’s not worth the time, money, or hassle. Don’t be a fool.

Extremely disappointed. I've been attempting to have my vehicle serviced here for a while now. The first time about 3 week ago they couldn't fit me in because 2 mechanics quit. The second time I went in I was ignored for 10 minutes before they said they couldn't get me in because the only mechanic was at a meeting in Maine, and the Last time I was told that I couldn't be seen for 3 days. I was trying to get an inspection and whatever repairs I needed done but I had to go to Londonderry ford instead. Thanks for making me feel unvalued. I'll never ever be back for any reason. Wife got a flat tire and ended up stopping next to the VIP in Merrimac NH. It was 30 minutes before their closing time. Merciless .. Unless you have a brand new car I don’t advise getting it inspected here. As someone working paycheck to paycheck I cannot afford to fix the inevitable right now; by FORCING me to replace merely all the insignificant “parts” and “pieces” that work well is what I call a scam ($35 pass/fail, you can only do the repairs there to avoid another $35 fee), especially when it is the unnecessary but all too pertinent barrier that comes between me needing my day-to-day vehicle and updating it’s overdue Inspection. My 2014 is far from being at its best shape, however after consulting another shop I found far less things as being “inadequate” and therefore passable under the (same) VT state law. I don’t appreciate feeling belittled and trapped as I did with my first and surely last visit to VIP.

My wife's car had an issue which turned out to be a very simple fix. Rob and his team could easily have justified charging us expensive "diagnostic" fees, but they didn't. They were fair, and open and honest. We'll definitely be back.

I called in the morning one day before this crazy storm we were supposed to have - starting out as snow, then sleet, then turning to rain. Not at all confident in the tires I had on the car, I needed new tires ASAP. Garth was awesome and not only did he get me in first thing the next morning, his customer service and honesty are definitely worth writing to tell people about. I am paid by the hour at work and could not afford to take a long time for this to be done and I was in at 9am and I was driving away by 9:30 in snow. I had a state inspection and it failed, because I needed four new tires. They allowed me to have four new tires put on that day, so that my car would pass inspection. It certainly saved me money plus the time of not having to go back to have new tires put on. They were all nice when they explained everything to me and their prices were reasonable too.

I was ready to pay for new tires and they didn’t even charge me for the tire repair unlike another mechanic I’ve used when I got my car inspection. Very convenient to have Sunday hours as well as it’s hard to get in during the week! They’ve definitely made me a loyal customer!

As much as you can enjoy spending money on car maintenance - I did! The gentlemen at VIP in Derry are friendly, helpful, and make the process as minimally painful as possible. We've been bringing our cars for oil changes and general upkeep for a while now and recently had to replace our brakes. I got to go into the garage where all the magic happens to actually see my quickly disappearing brakes and also got to see what healthy brakes look like as a comparison. UPDATE 05/05/2019: Second time I’ve had VIP auto change my oil and it’s the second time they’ve put the WRONG filter in. The filter they installed was half the size it should have been and I only had 1.5 quarts of oil left when I drained it to change the oil (decided to change my own oil this time around). I’ve given this shop multiple chances and time and time again they continue to make serious mistakes that could have lead to major problems had I not caught it. I will not be returning to VIP Auto. ORIGINAL POST April 2019: My first initial experience with VIP Auto was disappointing, however management reacted positively when I came in for an inspection and apologized. Very friendly and accommodating staff.

The staff was very friendly, but the cost for a tire change over was $100 and I thought that was quite steep. I have been told since then that I can get it done elsewhere for $60 and that's the going rate for quite a few places around the Burlington area. Expensive lesson learned!

Gavin (front desk) was very professional. Scheduling an appointment was quick and easy. They are one of few places that are open on Sunday. It took about 90 min for a state inspection ($35), and summer tire swap. They also offer a first responder discount for several different services.
