My wife took her ‘16 Toyota Corolla to this Gateway in Lakeland, TN on 08/10 to get tires installed that we purchased online. Before she went there, she was quoted a price of $35 per tire mount and balance by phone. Since she had to wait a while, I stopped by to pick her up. To my surprise, she tells me that she was told a price of $300 plus for installation, stems, “rubber seals”, etc. I told her there is no way she’s paying that. This was the first time for a new set of tires for her bought new car and her sensors shouldn’t have to be removed from the wheels. Sales guy “JJ” said “the customer has no choice but to buy new seals”. Why if you don’t need them and not having any air leaks? Later, we get a call stating that they “hear something rolling around in the tire” which they believe was a broken sensor and they quoted us a price of $80 more for a new sensor from NAPA plus programming for something they weren’t even sure of. Sounds suspect. We never had a TPMS light illuminated which I’m sure would have came on if the sensor was broken before we brought it in. I told them do not replace the sensor and end up paying $198 to get her car away from that place. Before we left, the tech approached us and told us that it was a totally different rear tire that had the broken sensor than what the sales guy “JJ” stated. Two different stories. We left and took the car directly to Toyota and got the broken sensor replaced professionally. The Toyota tech looked at the broken sensor we brought in and said it was highly likely that it was broken by the person who installed the tires at Gateway - which I believe is what happened. I go outside this morning 08/11 and check the tires. Gateway installed one of the front tires inside out and now we have to take it back again. The tires are marked on the sidewall for mounting instructions and apparently no one at Gateway checked to make sure the tires were mounted correctly. We’ve done plenty of business with them and after this issue is finally corrected, we will never go back. Probably won’t even take it to them to correct since it’s proven they have no clue and their motivation is driven by getting as much money out of you to make their numbers look good because they think you’re automotive illiterate. Stay away from this incompetent “tire service center”. They don’t “go the distance” but you will and it’ll cost you.

No wheel weights were installed on a 35x12.50 x 20 tore on a 2015 GMC 2500hd truck after taking it to this place for a free balance and rotation. I would highly recommend going somewhere else they have cost me 2k in tires and now I have rear bearings going bad. DO NOT GO HERE IF YOU WANT YOUR VEHICLE SERVICED RIGHT.

Dishonest and incompetent. Brought car in for 4 wheel alignment and new tires. They up-charged for nitrogen without asking or even notifying. As for the alignment, any competent alignment shop will inspect your suspension and steering components prior to performing an alignment to ensure that it will remain in spec after driving it off the rack. These guy don't. They'll do it and just hope you don't come back before the 30 day warranty ends. That's assuming they even perform the alignment in the first place. In my case the sales guy was informed that the rear end was surely out of alignment because new adjustable camber control arms had just been installed to replace the oem non-adjustable ones. After the supposed alignment, the car fishtailed wildly at highway speeds. Clearly the full 4-wheel alignment had not been performed properly if at all. They did not provide an alignment printout. Took it back to another location in the same chain where they performed the alignment again. They claimed the alignment specs at the Hwy 64 location must have been "read wrong" because all 4 wheels were all over the place according to their machine. It sounded to me like they originally aligned only the front-end but not all 4 wheels if they even did anything. The sales guy said they even had to cut the front struts to get camber into spec. Who knows what they really did. The printout they gave me (had to ask for it twice) showed that the alignment specs were the same before and after the alignment. The car handles notably better now so they likely fudged the "before" specs to cover up the Hwy 64 location's gross incompetence and/or negligence. I will avoid the entire chain from now on.

I was at Gateway Tire in Lakeland Tn on today’s date at 7:30. While I was there I bought 4 new tires and had an oil change done. While I was waiting the tech pulled my truck in to change the tires, while he was doing that I watched him talk on his phone for a few minutes. It took him 2 hours and 45 minutes the change the tires and change the oil. I asked Jay Jay what was takeing so long and he said he would see what was taking so long. When I told Jay Jay what I saw he did state that he would handle it. The last time I was in there and this same tech took just under an hour to do a flat repair once he pulled it into the shop. Normally I get really good service when I go to any Gateway Tire. I just felt this needed to be said.

Usually I am very pleased with the service, price and speed of Gateway. Today that is not the case though. I got to Gateway about 30min after they opened, and was told there were 5 people in front of me. I said ok, and got a ride to work. I was told I would be called when they knew something. At 1:48 I had not heard anything so I called. They said my car was being looked at and would call soon. 2 1/2hr later still no call. I callback and am told that the car is just then being pulled in. I don’t know what they were doing for that 2 1/2 but it obviously wasn’t working on my car. They have now had my car for 8hr and have yet to call with an update. I was also talked to very rudely when I called the second time and said that I was told it was already being worked on. I will not be going back to this location anytime soon, despite it being very convienient to my house.

My car is an 04 and I was quoted 650$ for brake service. That was too expensive for me so I got my own instead. I had them install it for me so it can be done right and I asked them to put in a headlight bulb for me. Leon told me it needed a part that was 600$ for it to work and it was not the lightbulb. Also, said that they’re not electricians. I went home shortly that evening and put the lightbulb in myself.

I brought my car in because it started making noise it shouldn't have been making. After misdiagnosing my car, they charged me $920 for the repairs they said would be necessary to fix the noise. They wouldn't refund me my money after their repairs did nothing. I highly recommend NOT coming here to do anything with your car.

Dropped car off at 11am for an alignment... They close at 6pm and I haven't heard nothing all day so I show up at 5:30pm and they haven't even started yet. Couldn't find paperwork and didn't know why my car was even there....

I'm torn. They fixed my tire and didn't change me anything. But I also waited like 3.5 hours. And several people came in after me and were seen first by saying "need to check air pressure in tires" apparently this is code for let me go first. Because they tell you to just pull up to a door.

When you buy tires here, you get free tire rotations at any of their stores. Today I was lucky, got in and out in 45 min. with a tire rotation and oil change!

Dropped my RV off for an oil change and asked specifically for them to check the tire pressure. My wife picked it up and asked about the tire pressure. They told her they would make comments on the bill if there were issues. I checked the pressure when I got home and it was not right. I went back the next day and the gentleman at the desk say: "hey we were busy yesterday man." Bring it back. I said that's how you guys provide services, you cut corners when busy. Spoke with the manager you said what do you want me to do about it. The manager did provide a partial refund.

Go elsewhere. If you buy parts they use phantom numbers to buy the parts and won't give you true figures. If the part has a core charge they keep the part and charge you the core. They also are quick to tell anyone their tire is in disrepair. I saw more tires with "sidewall punctures" in 2 hours than in 2 decades. If you must use them use caution.

10/2/2019 Tire pressure wasn’t balanced from my previous visit when I had my tires rotated & balanced. Went in today to get pressure balanced & instead of pulling in bay I had to wait for a rack to come available because they had to lift my truck because the type of rims I have the valve stem is on the inside. Had no problem with that. Told Leon, “I’m heading out of town in a little while.” So he typed up a work sheet & wrote wait on it. I was the only one in the shop beside a one other guy who came in after me. So after waiting around 30 minutes or so & noticing a couple of cars getting pulled in I asked how much longer would it be. I was told there were 3 more ahead of me so I asked for my keys & left. Wasn’t looking for special treatment but out of customer courtesy if they had vehicles that had to be put on the rack & no one was waiting on them in the shop then why I couldn’t had my tire pressure balanced & went on my way since that would’ve took only 5 minutes. The manager knew what was going on also. I just see it for what it is. I guess people choose who they want to be courteous to instead of being fair to everyone.

Took almost 3 hours to fix a slow leak in 1 tire. The tire pressure was incorrect by almost 10 psi when returning the fixed tire. When I went to add air to my tire I noticed that they either lost or stole the factory chrome valve cover and replaced it with a black plastic one!!! Will no bring my car there ever again!

They used to be my go to place for all my tire and wheel work but it seems there was a great price increase. 2 years ago, to mount and balance 4 20" wheels on my car was less than $100. I go there to mount and balance five 17" wheels and the cost comes out to $313!? Discount Tires down the street did it for $160. I won't be back....

Employee and Manager berated me in front of other customers after I had turned around and asked the lady behind me to please lower her voice because she was talking on her cell phone. I have been a customer at this Gateway Tire Center in Lakeland Tennessee for many years and have decided that unless an apology is offered to me from your staff at that store I will no longer take my business to your company. Emmett at the counter was more sympathetic to me than either your manager or the gentleman who had waited on me when I came in for my car service. I am now concerned because he went and got the manager and the manager did not diffuse the situation as far as I was concerned. I am a very quiet and reserved person and did not feel that I had stepped out of line asking that you lady to turn her volume down when she spoke on her phone.
