I'd been here before and had great service. But this time was sub par. First, called to make appointment for new tires and was told just to come in the next day and shouldn't take more than a couple hours. So I came in and immediately the guy at front desk said he didn't know if they could get to it. So he assessed and ordered tires but based on his stress yo get it done, I offered to just drop my car off that night and they could do it in the AM. Next morning 10am I called just to ensure they had my key and started service. They were really vague but told me they'd call when ready. At 1pm I called back to see if I could pickup as my husband was going out and could drop me off. They said they were just finishing up. At 1:44 pm I arrrived and was told it would be 20 min before it would be ready. What the hell happened???? Not exactly the experience I was first promised on the phone. I'm moving on to a new place.

I stopped in to get some air in my tire, and it turns out there was a screw in it. While I knew I needed new tires, I was still comparing prices and hoped it could wait a bit. But my tire was so worn it couldn’t be patched. I got some quotes for tires and went home to figure things out. My dealership was having a tire sale but did not have the tire I wanted in stock. Ken Towery had the tires, and said they would match the sale price. They were very accommodating in getting my service done that same day. The gentlemen were very nice and made the whole ordeal very easy!

I’ve been a customer of Ken Towery for over 20 years, and with this location on Hurstbourne Lane at I-64 since it opened. The staff have been excellent, with none of that “little woman” attitude you may experience elsewhere. On the odd occasion in the past, when I went elsewhere to save money, I’d typically bring it back to Ken Towery so they could fix what the other service messed up. Ken Towery stands by their service and I could not ask for a better group to work with!

Terrible place to take your car. They hook you in with a $10 oil change, but they of course find lots of other problems with the car that need to be "fixed" and rack up a huge bill. We took the car elsewhere and were told that these weren't real problems. Of course, they highly recommended a "brake fluid flush," which is complete BS. They come out and show a colored strip and insist that there's a ton of copper in the brake fluid, and that for $99 they can fix that. Don't bite on the scam. The mechanics themselves will do the job. It seems that they do do what they'll say they'll do, it's just that they'll try to sell you on lots of additional work that doesn't actually need to be done. Go elsewhere if possible (outside the Ken Towery network)!

Great prices, and friendly people, but somewhat questionable service. For the most part they do a good job, but on a new set of tires they are supposed to replace the valve stems. On receipt it even stated "(4) Standard Valve Stem". A post inspection shows old valve stems still on vehicle. Otherwise service appears good, although slow, even with an appointment. I would definitely use them again, but verify details more thoroughly upfront.

This Ken Towery location has been my go-to vehicle place for many years. I have brought several vehicles here over the years and have my regular maintenance including oil changes done here. I love the convenience, as I live in the neighborhood. I love the familiarity I have with their friendly and helpful staff. I love that I can count on them to get me in & out as quickly as possible. I love that they work with me to use coupons and promotions to yield the lowest price possible for my services. Everyone is courteous, respectful, and gracious...it’s clear they appreciate my business. There’s been no reason for me to look elsewhere!

I manage a large fleet of vehicles that require constant maintenance, they are used to transport surgeons throughout the state of KY. Staff is aware of this but have no consideration in reaching out to me about repair quotes or when vehicles are ready to be picked up. Staff is unfriendly as well. They just lost a large paying customer, I recommend Big O down the road.

I noticed an unusual noise, so I called the closest shop (this one). They said to bring the vehicle in and they would have a look at it. Bought it in at 10AM on Tuesday. I hadn't heard from them by 5, so I called them back. They said that they hadn't got around to looking at it and could I leave it overnight. I wish they had told me, but fair enough... Wednesday at 12:30, I hadn't heard from them, so I called again. The "Master Tech" who looks at these things was out with flu, and nobody else could perform the inspection. Once again, I with they had told me. Bottom line: They never call you, and never tell you anything. They don't need to improve their communication so much as actually have some.

Greg and his staff was so helpful when I brought my car in and determining what was wrong with it. First of all they were very friendly and they kept me informed throughout the process. They offered to visually show me some of the issues in addition to just communicating them. I felt I was in good hands the whole way through this process. I went in to get an oil change and a tire rotation. When an employee told me of other issues with my vehicle, he claimed that I had a nail in my tire and that it was non-repairable. I told him that I had warranty on the tires with another company, and that I would take it to them to fix. When I took it to discount tires, I waited 2 more hours just to find out that there was no nail at all. I will never go here again, as they tried to scam me into paying at least another $100 for a tire that was not needed.

Took 3 hours for a brake job. 1 hour after the wheels were already off. Took many shortcuts but I still overpaid. Will not be returning ever. I have found all Ken Towery's to be terrible. Guess the new management just likes ripping people off.

Horrible experience. While moving across the country we had car issues, and someone local recommended we come here. We were very pleased, and they offered to squeeze us in, since we needed to get back on the road ASAP. We knew it was either a bad battery or the starter, which we told them. They told us it was the battery, and told us they did sufficient diagnostic work to confirm this. Hardly 3 weeks later and we need a mechanic for the starter, so now we know this was the true issue all along. This is particularly frustrating because we just moved to a state where we don't know a single person, and this is my wife's car. Because of the nature of my job, I cannot leave if she ever has car issues while in town, and she would have no one to call for assistance. I do not appreciate being taken advantage of financially, and their dishonestly could have left my wife stranded randomly. Thankfully we discovered this issue while we were together.

I have been doing my oil changes here since 2016 and I am extremely satisfied with their service . I recently did my tire change here and they provided great expertise in explaining the pros and cons of each tire selection , patiently understanding my needs and giving the best customer service. I was in town for a weekend sporting event and on Sunday morning had a flat tire. Ripped, not able to be repaired and not able to drive 440 miles on the spare. On top of that - not a common tire size. After calling around - I found this Ken Towery's location open on a Sunday AND they had a large inventory so they DID have my tire size! Then after they fixed it they didn't even charge me anything! They said there was a coupon for a free flat repair out there, and they applied the coupon for me! So nice!

Very bad experience. I attempted to have my vehicle aligned by this shop. I came in and asked for a alignment. They took my keys and I left. I later got a phone call that their technician performed a test drive and that the following items needed to be replaced. Swap bar bushing, sway bar link, control arm bushing. I said "that's fine but I don't want those I need a alignment" I was shocked at what the service advisor said to me "You can't have a alignment with those items needing replaced they will affect the alignment" I asked again "so you're not going to perform the alignment?" and he said "no". anyone that knows anything about vehicles or double wishbone suspensions knows that a SWAY bar does NOT affect alignment. control arm bushing maybe, but the runout would be negligible. What bothers me is that I know about vehicles and what it takes to maintain them. I only brought the vehicle there because I don't have a alignment rack at home and didn't want to get out tape measures and perform one myself. But these guys specifically LIED to me. they tried to make me feel like these items needed to be replaced before they could perform a alignment. It's shops like this that seriously give mechanics a bad name. I will never do service with Ken Towerys again and I will make note to never recommend and be sure to bad mouth their name from here on out. The kicker: Alignment $85 All other things that they said must be done before a alignment (WHICH IS A LIE, NONE OF THOSE PARTS AFFECT ALIGNMENT!) $1217 !!! These people should be ashamed of the kind of scheming they try and do to make a buck. No wonder their parking lot was empty, that should've been my first sign. This place will not hesitate to do the jiffy lube upsale and lie to a customer to try and make a bigger sale. It's disgusting show of unprofessionalism. I've attached the service writeup to show the ridiculously price repairs they said must be done. I figured, maybe I'm crazy maybe they are right. I've asked 3 separate mechanics and they've all concluded that this was a attempt to scam more money out of me for services I didn't request. One of them even said "I'm guessing they'd charge $900 for all of that" ha! not at Ken Towerys, they'll take your house if you let them.

Greg is Greg-arious but more importantly helpful. I had an important quick fix for safety purposes. They were fast, helpful, friendly. I was not an important "regular" customer but the safety part was important. Will recommend to my friends in Louisville. Greg invited me to come back in the future for repairs, for info, for questions, for coffee, for anything to help me. Sort of a community asset type of repair facility. It was like i was a hotel or restaurant 'guest' and not just fix it and forget it driver

I typically take my car to other places, but this location is next to my new place of work so I said, “Why not, it could be convenient!” Needless to say, I won’t be back. Yesterday I set up what I though was an appointment to bring in my car today to be serviced. The rep asked what we were doing with the car and I explained everything. He looked like he was typing all of my information in. I came in this morning, the rep still there. Happy hello. A different rep asked for my name information I gave it and it turns out nothing was in the computer, or the rep had wrong spelling and didn’t ask for correct info. So, we have to go through the whole process again. I’m irritated because my expectations were to pop in, drop off and be gone to make it to work on time. After all, that is the purpose of my stopping in last evening to set up an appointment. If you don’t take appointments, it would have been nice to have been told last night. Today, at the end of the process, after having been asked by the rep several times if anything else needs to be done to the vehicle. I asked the rep of other things should I do. I mean he asked the question four times, I was curious if I was missing anything. His professional standpoint would surely offer help, right? His response, “We do whatever the customer asks us to do on the vehicle.” I left and I won’t be back. The response was dripping in sarcasm and annoyance. The rep had curly hair and a sore about the size of a nickel on the left side of his hairline. He wore glasses.

Have 28,000 miles still left on my tires Came in to have them checked because of wobbling. Had me in there over an hour. Service manager was avoiding telling me what was wrong with my tires. I started getting impatient, so the guy at the front desk gave me my keys back. I cursed him out as I was walking out the door. I call the Better BusinessBureau when I got in my car. Guy I cursed out said his name is Jason. He's tall kinda heavy, hair shaved on the sides and back , long on top. He's Caucasian . Jason said the service manager's name is Ryan. He's short, skinny with dark hair. He's also Caucasian. Don't even deserve 1 star.

Does not deserve a star, but cant post it without rating, so consider it a Negative rating - Just came back from a simple oil change and tire rotation which took 2 hours wait time even after I had an appointment for 11 AM. I did ask after reaching and I was told it will take 1 hour. Finally after waiting for more than an hour when I asked a couple of times, I was told 10 minutes each time and at the last the big task of oil change was completed in 2 hours. When I expressed my concern on the delay, as usual I heard a Sorry - I could tell from the face of the person, neither was he sorry nor did he care for my time. Worst possible service I have seen ever!!!

EXCELLENT service! Don't go anywhere else. Greg and them are so helpful. The staff is both very knowledgeable and also very compassionate, and they work with you if you're struggling. Id just come across the street to ask them to put air in my tire because Circle K didn't have a pump. One of the employees noticed that the tire had metal wires coming out of it (I had no idea) so they offered one of their replacement tires so my 4 year old and I can be safe :) While my son and I were waiting, they investigated further. They came back inside and told me I need an alignment, which was causing all my tires on that one side to go flat. He offered an amazing deal and I couldn't turn it down. My kiddo and I are in the waiting room as we speak :)

Don't have enough words nor enough gratitude to express to Daryl Snyder and the employees at Ken Towery on Hurtsbourne. We were in a huge bind. An unexpected mishap and needing new tires was not in our plans. I phoned at least seven other tire chains only to be kept on hold or quoted prices that did not jive with advertisement. When I phoned Ken Towery the phone literally rang twtce. I was greeted by a most understanding kind gentleman Daryl Snyder. I explained I knew nothing about tires and was worried about budget.Daryl explained every thing from warranties to options. He made certain he offered and honored all applicable coupons. Within 24 hours we had 4 new tires we could afford. As a woman I greatly appreciated the kindness shown. My husband was equally impressed by the professionalism and timely manner in which they got us in. I have and will tell everyone about our great experience.Very grateful!

I needed a set of tires in an emergency and they worked hard to provide the tires I wanted that day. So that part of the experience was excellent. The only problem I had is that they charged me for a warranty without asking me. At $15 a tire that came to a total of $60. I had to wait another 10 minutes for them to call back the card company to remove that charge. So FYI: If you won't want a warranty, and you shouldn't, you need to EXPLICITLY TELL THEM! Your new tires should come with a factory warranty anyway.

Went in for a wheel bearing replacement which after waiting 4 hours they told me it wont get done that day and I had to call a cab home. Then showed up the next day they put brakes and rotors on my car without even consulting me. I got stuck with a $1000 bill and a sore behind from getting raped at Ken Towey. Do not go there!

Ok I went into Ken towerys today and explained I just needed two new tires and asked them what they had in that size, just so you get a better idea I am a woman, and he told me all they had in was tires for $102.99. That didn't seem right to me but I brushed it off and asked about a grinding sound that happens when I drive in the rain, he again disregarded what I had to say and said it must be my brakes. Frustrated I left and informed my boyfriend, he called the same day and they told him they had tires in that size for $54.99 and they'd be happy to install them that day when I would have had to wait until monday. I found this very sexist and am extremely mad that if I called and said something about the issue it would be seen as him up selling even when I asked if he had any other tires and he told me no. Ladies, even if you know what you are doing take a man with you otherwise you'll get screwed over.

There was a group of us in town for a volleyball tournament with our daughters. One of the mom’s of my daughter’s teammate asked me to look at her tire. It was definitely going flat. After checking it I found a piece of something metallic in the tread. We decided to take her van across the street to the Ken Towery location at Hurstbourne Louisville. I went with her to make sure she didn’t get taken advantage of. There was no need of that whatsoever. Greg and Darrel took care of the puncture and plugged the tire. They also noticed a couple of the lug nuts were cross threaded. (Confirmed later to have been an issue that another tire retailer had created) they didn’t charge her a thing and we were on our way. It’s nice to know that there are good people out there who will do the right thing. It makes my day to see that happen! Thanks guys and keep up the good work!

This is the second time I took my vehicle to this location. The first time I was told I had a rear bearing out, but they weren’t equipped to repair it. After second option, it was actually a front hub assembly (front bearing). This time I took it in for a free inspection. Informed them it was swaying left to right when at higher speeds and I knew one of the tie rods needed to be looked at. After they called to inform me the vehicle was ready. I had to ask all questions to find out what went on. No information was given freely. So I was informed the tie rid was missing a “bolt”, which I wasn’t charged for. Yay! Yet was charged a half hour labor. >$55. And an additional shop fee of >$5 for miscellaneous, waste disposal, etc. When ask, I was informed that the shop fee is always added even though there wasn’t a charge for the “bolt” and there wasn’t any waste. So let’s recap!!! First: he didn’t know the difference between a bolt and a nut. They screwed a nut on and stuck the carter pin back in. Second: It doesn’t take a half hour to screw a nut on unless of course the individual is a complete moron. Third: The vehicle was never driven nor was there ever any mention of the swaying. So twice this establishment has had an epic fail, in my option, due to lack of intelligence/knowledge... call it what you like. In closing: I was just charged >$65 to have a “nut” screwed on. Or one could say I was screwed. Hope this helps when deciding where to get your vehicle inspected.

For tires this is the place to be but for auto repair they are way overpriced. For alternator and battery replacement they want to charge me 500 bucks. I looked up the parts from autozone and it was 208 bucks. I found out it takes 1hr for the alternator repair and maybe 30mins for battery and that is being generious. So labor your looking at almost 300 bucks an hr. Ridiculous. Avoid this place for auto repair.

Do not go to this store. I was a regular getting my oil changed here because it was very easy to make appointments online same day and it was right near my work. But the last time I took it hear about three months ago, someone called me saying all of this stuff was wrong with my car. They said my fluids were black, that it was not safe to drive and would be over $700 to fix. I explained that I didn't have the money and asked them if it would be okay to continue to just drive to and from work if I didn't get the repairs. They told me it would not be. Then I went to pick it up, and the person at the desk didn't say a word to me about anything being wrong. Later I had a friend who is a mechanic look at it. My fluids were not black at all, they were almost the clear/see through color they should have been. I even called around to different shops and explained the situation, and all of them said they wouldn't recommend getting any of the suggested work done to it because with how many miles my car has on it, it would actually do more harm than good. Here it is over 3 months later and my car is still working fine.
