This Tires is included in the category of Tire shop.
D & D is the best place for car maintenance and tires.
This place was awful. I had my car towed there after a car accident and needed two new tires. D&D told me my car's suspension and axil were also damaged so they needed to fix them. Thinking this would only take a couple of days max, I told them to go ahead and fix everything. Every day for over one week, D&D would call me and tell me they ordered the wrong part and would have to wait for a new part to come in. Being a girl who doesn't know much about cars, they treated me horribly, like I was an inconvenience to them and like I was stupid. I had my dad and boyfriend call to talk to them since they were so rude to me. Finally, after one week and two days in the shop, my dad called and D&D said it would be ready later that day. They did not even call to tell me it was ready. I picked it up at almost their closing time, and had to wait 10 mins to get it because they hadn't written up a ticket yet. When I got into my car, the tire pressure light was on. The next day, I called and the receptionist said I could bring it back in for them to turn it off. When I brought it back in a few days later, I told Jason, the mechanic who worked on my car the entire time it was in the shop, what was wrong. He acted like he had no idea who I was and that he had no recollection of working on my car. He refused to try resetting the tire pressure light and told me it had to be something wrong with my pressure sensor and he could write me up an estimate. I was upset at this and left. I took my car to Wal-mart for an oil change that same day and had Wal-mart look at the tires. They said they took my tire pressure and it was almost double what it should be on the two wheels D&D replaced. So basically, D&D over blew my tires and they could have blown out while on the road. Needless to say, I am never going to take my car there again.
Pricing is great! Customer service is great!
Very helpful people.
The guys here are always honest about what my cars need. I appreciate that they tell me that nothing needs done right now or help me prioritize work that does need done when I can't just shove money at all at once. Work is done when they say it will be.
Great customer service, fast, and very reasonably priced. No price gouging or upsells. 10/10 will visit again.
Great service
Service was courteous and the wait time was decent, only issue was the price it was a little higher than Im used to paying for a used tire but they got me go home to Texas safely.
Awesome! Super nice guys and did a wonderful job. I will be back. Thanks again!
Called D & D 13 minutes before they closed flat on the highway made it to within three miles. Pat answered and not only assisted with spare on his way home but went back and repaired our flat. Thank you!!!!
The guys at d&d are amazing. Great group of people.
Best place in Northeast Kansas to buy quality tires and/or have a flat tire repaired! Awesome staff...busy because of great reputation. ..well worth the wait!
Fixed me up quickly. Thanks.
Great people there. Extremely clean restrooms. Honest and friendly.
Great job and great price
Best price and service
Always get great service here.
D&D was able to put a new set of tires on my car the same day I called and they found me a rebate.
Very fast and good service .
I don't know what's going on with this rating system but I've rated D&D as Excellent - Quality, Very Good - Appeal and Excellent - Service. Didn't come out that when when I originally posted the review! The people, management and installers, were extremely helpful and friendly. The ONLY place I've found selling 8.00x16.5 tires for my Motor Home. Mounted and balanced in quick time by helpful personnel. I downgraded the Appeal rating only due to the tires on display in the showroom area - they fill it up! Women may not appreciate the appearance.
Quick service to change a tire. Always the best!
Great Service! I always feel that they give me an honest estimate of what is going on with my tires. Bought a new set from them this week, I'm very satisfied!
This month I had my first couple experiences with D&D Tire; they will also be my last. I brought in my relatively new car (only 11,000 miles on it) to have a leaky tire repaired, having found and removed a drywall screw. They were able to get me in that day, and patched my tire in about 45 minutes while I waited. They're also cheap—$16 plus tax. Yet as another reviewer mentioned, their shop is really dirty. The waiting room probably hasn’t been cleaned since it was built (1950s, give or take a decade). I made the mistake of slinging my coat over the back of one of their coffee-stained chairs, and it brushed against the dust-caked window sill. I had to run it through the laundry when I got home. Furthermore, the service technician failed to use one of those disposable paper floor mats, and tracked mud onto my carpet floor mat. I hosed it down in a manual car wash bay, so it’s not a big deal. The good news is that my tire held pressure; D&D clearly fixed the leak. The bad news became apparent when I washed my car later that week (as mentioned above). Washing D&D’s dirt off of my wheel revealed a two-inch gouge in my rim, adjacent to the tire. Trust me, it was new damage. I detail my car by hand monthly. I fueled my car and drove back to D&D Tire. The manager didn’t repudiate their obvious guilt. He asked that I leave my car with them through the next day because they outsource to a guy out of Kansas City who runs a route to several area shops. Turns out this guy does good work. Running your finger over it, you can still feel the roughness, but he touched up the paint in a way that can’t be seen. For the second time, however, there was mud on my floor mat. My driver’s seat had been moved all the way down, way far back, and reclined at a 40° angle—gangsta’ style (seriously, who drives like that?). The headrest was tilted all the way forward, and there were five forensically viable fingerprints on the back of it. I found five more fingerprints on my center console, and yet another five on the back of my passenger’s seat, right where you’d put your hand when looking over your shoulder to back into a garage. Nice way to treat my pristine leather. Sadly, all of this pales in comparison to what I discovered next. Logging my car’s maintenance in a spreadsheet, I realized that D&D put exactly 100 miles on my car. As confirmation, a quarter tank of gas was missing (recall I fueled my car just before dropping it off the second time). They must have driven it to Kansas City, instead of having their guy come to Lawrence as they’d said. Not only did they not ask my permission nor tell me that they were going to do it, they didn’t tell me that they had done it. Trying to hide it from me, I only found out by watching my odometer like a hawk. That implies that they probably show the same disrespect to others’ vehicles, who in turn don’t notice. If you care about your vehicle, spend a few extra bucks and go to a shop that will respect it.
I came in about an hour from closing with a leak in my tire. They had time to take my car as a walk in and were able to get the issue taken care of in 10 minutes (turns out my valve stem was lose and leaking air). I had come in expecting and asking to buy new tires since I thought that my tread was worn too far and it would be easier to replace them than to fix the leak but the guy that helped me said they were fine and that I should just repair them. I really appreciated their honesty when they could have easily taken advantage of my naivete. I really appreciate their help and I'm going to get the tires that are starting to bald on my other car replaced here since I was very impressed with how they treated me and my car.
Great place to buy tires!! Re
Always friendly and down to business!
I was on my way to Ft Reilly, I blew a trailer tire and didn't have a spare. I was able to get it to D&D tire, they backed me in,changed the tire and had me back on the road in less than 30 min. I would highly recommend D&D Tire!
Wonderful! They treat me as if I'm a daughter of theirs. They always take care of me and my car and in a timely matter. And most importantly as a college student, very affordable!
Huge shout out to Jim & the gang for calling us back, THANKS. After buying a set of tires and getting an all wheel alignment wks ago; they contacted us to state their work may have been questionable due to a calibration issue. Other shops probably would have carried on and let the tires wear improperly. Old time Lawrence business (second generaton) where the staff realizes their customers sign each individual's check. Highly recommended!!!
My mother has been going to D & D for years. Recently she purchased new tires for her car. She noticed that D & D put a different lug nut on one of the tires of her car. It sticks out and doesn't look the same as the others. She went in to have them put the correct lug nut back on. Not only did they imply that it had "always been that way" (incorrect, this is a new car), but then someone said that he "remembered the car and it had a missing lug nut" also incorrect as D & D services her tires. Then they wanted to charge her for a new lug nut. Sorry D & D, you've lost multiple customers in our family now due to your treatment of our mother over a $5.50 lug nut. Very poor customer service.
If I could leave one star I would... Looking for a mechanic in Lawrence? We had an alignment done here and my husband kept hearing a rattling noise noise under the right front and looked behind the tire and look what we found... Went by this morning hoping they would make it right and they were more concerned about their snap on vise-grips than about our safety concerns associated with their mistake. We will not go back...
I had a very bad experience at D&D tire. I have been a loyal customer for the 16 years we've lived in Lawrence. I recently purchased four Michelin tires which were expensive. On Wednesday October 17 I was driving to the airport and realized one of my tires was low on air. I immediately pulled off the road at the nearest exit and there happened to be a fire station nearby. I stopped at the fire station as I knew they would have an air station. They filled the tire and it exploded due to being over heated. I called D&D and was told that someone would look at the defective tire and determine whether it would qualify under the tire warranty or if they could give me a "good will" discount on a new tire. Jim at D&D told me to leave the tire and he would get back to me with his findings. After not hearing from anyone, I called and found out that the replacement tire was already mounted without any cost adjustment. I specifically asked to be called with their findings. It's disappointing when a small local business doesn't stand behind their products or take care of their most loyal customers. I will never again do business with D&D tire and will go out of my way to not recommend them to my friends, family members and colleagues. There are other better alternatives.
I've been using these guys for years. They have great service and fair prices. An added bonus of being in downtown Lawrence you can drop your car off go for a nice walk down Mass then come back and pick it up when you're done.
These people are liars.
Excellent Service! I had 4 new tires installed, mounted, balanced, and aligned. They were quick and reasonable. They even replaced my rear brake pads were about gone, the dealership didn't notice these the week before. I will be returning to D & D!
Like many other reviewers on here, we had a couple of terrible experiences with their customer service. They were extremely rude to both me and my husband on different occasions. My husband went to pick up our car after they had worked on it, and the first time he pushed the brake pedal it went all the way to the floor and the brakes barely engaged. He immediately went back in and told them, and they were very rude and condescending and acted like they didn't believe him. He made one of the guys come out and try the brakes, and he told him they were fine and that they would "tighten up over time." We couldn't believe the way they treated us. They act like they're entitled to make money without treating their customers right. There are other local businesses that will do a better job AND treat you with a bit of respect.
Had to get a tire, reasonable prices and good service. Have gotten 4 from them now. They are great.
Great prices, local family owned business. Excellent knowledgeable staff.
the people there was good service they knew my dad Pablo senior they said they knew me for when I was a little boy , there's guys been working there for 30 to 35 years they kind of remember me with my dad my dad did some side work part-time plumber I went in with them every time when you had to work on the job private homes to you have a good day people Pablo jr.
Fast friendly service at a good price.Win Win!
Picked up a screw along the Kansas Turnpike. Pulled into D &D and they had me in/out in less than an hour for $20! Thanks for the great service! Hope the patch holds all the back to Minnesota!
Great guys to work with.
Great service. Stand behind their work. Always work in my best interest. Won't sell you something you don't need. Honest and reliable.
They fix all kinds of tires from cars to semi trucks. Great prices and quick service. Less than $40 to fix a flat on my semi tractor.
Not fancy but good work and prices
After a 10 hour work shift I went to D and D tire. I had 2 tires that needed replaced. They replaced both tires put the new tires up front older ones to the rear. I came in a at 7:50 in the morning and by 8:25 I was on the road back home . I was well pleased by the quality and the speed at which they worked to get me done
If I ever have problems with my breaks or need tires they are the place to go. They are a little higher then Walmart but consider the source. D&D Tire is home town Lawrence that's why I like going there. They are honest and fair priced. They have enough business so they dont need to be high priced. I like D&D Tire.
Great experience with D&D! Honest, helpful AND QUICK. Had to deal with a ruined tire on just a bad day. D&D was helpful beyond expectation and even gave me a quick ride to pick up vehicle. Professional, helpful and friendly with every aspect. Definitely recommend and will personally use again. They obviously believe in customer service!
I had a flat on a weekday morning. Bad start to a day for sure, I was able to get home, and I called around and landed on D&D. They opened at 730 and are an independent local shop, so I figured I would give them some business. I should have stopped after the phone call, they were short and unfriendly, but I didn't. I went there, they said it would be about an hour, but I was happy when I saw it getting worked in about 30 instead. 40 minutes later, I was told it was a rebuild kit on my TPM that was leaking, $8 for that and labor, $25 total, I was happy. The next day, the tire was flat again! Took it to Discount Tire, they met me at the door with a smile, found the nail in the tire that D&D couldn't. Fixed it up right. I would like to have my $25 back. But mainly my time. Don't waste yours.
Great Service. Very caring staff.
Never have failed me yet when it comes to needing a 911 emergency used tire for my unfortunate and unexpected frequent flats or blowouts. Always quick and affordable
Oil change, repair. Great service and always helpful when a problem. Always buy my tires here and trust D& D's service people.
I love bringing my car to D&D Tires. They are honest and do great work without trying to upsell you. Yes! They do more than just tires. Locally owned. Check them out!
I had a great experience at the DND tire place today! As a repeat customer I really appreciated that.
I have been using D & D for 13 years. They are a very busy place and it is hectic in there at times, but my experience with customer service (Jim) has always been very good. They have worked to accommodate me in a time of family emergency and also work to meet deadlines when they tell you that your car will be ready. I have bought two sets of tires from them and their prices are competitive with the other local tire stores. They do not tack on hidden fees and charges as do the other local stores...they tell you exactly what the total is going to be. My suggestion is that when you need something worked on you get it there by 7:15am if at all possible. They will do their best to help you out and get you on your way.
Great service.
Really great service and always have the best advice on tires.
Honest folk who are good at what they do and stand behind thier work. Would recommend to anyone .
A had my car towed here a few months back and they changed my tire that same day. Cost about $100 but it was done quickly.
