These people are not mechanics. They are sales people.
I used to go different places around town for services, but now I go to Burnett's on Anderson exclusively. Dave or Eric at the front desk know me by name, and you can't beat that. I know what they suggest is needed, and they aren't just trying to upsell me.
Took my vehicle at the recommendation of a few friends. The staff was friendly, and I appreciated that they explained their recommendations and work to me clearly and without pressure. I was very impressed and will be returning.
Honest work, helpful staff, and overall great service every time I've brought in my car.
This place is overpriced and will rip you off if you don’t shop around. They are sales people, not service oriented people. We gone there or gotten estimates from there a few times over the course of 22 years in Manhattan and haven’t been impressed once. There are better places to take your vehicle.
Very friendly and cordial staff, efficient service and they do their work very well. I've seen them go out of their way to help their customers on more than one instance. Keep up the good work!
They are friendly
Great service.. fair price
First time service taken in two vehicles, Great service, Polite, Very Clean shop, Takes there time working on your car, which is A huge plus in my book, and As a previous service writer myself,it Was top notch from alot of others in this town. Not about the Money, but your service!!!
FACT: $1337.00 to "fix" my car FACT: I paid it. FACT: 35 days later car breaks down. FACT: told they "may or may not have " Put a part on wrong. FACT: Now I Need a NEW ENGINE?!?!?!??? FACT: After an extensive lecture on seals and rings and how it wasn't their problem or their fault, they gave me, and I quote $164.00 "feel good money because that was the part they screwed up". Stay far away, 2 years ago they left my oil cap off. They did everything they could to make it right and I was happy. Thought I would give them another shot. Never again!!!!
Knowledgeable staff, easy to work with and thoughtful of customer needs.
I will put it plain and simple. This business cares more about money than it's customers.
Had tires in stock. Very thorough in letting me know everything that was going on with my vehicle. Very satisfied with the service that was given to me.
I dropped my car off this morning with a major issue (the car randomly turned off while I was driving) and they had the problem diagnosed and fixed by the end of the day. The guys were very helpful and the price was reasonable. An Excellent experience and a blessing to me!
Dependable courteous service.
Came in for an alignment because my car was pulling very hard to the right after I lowered it with coilovers. Most of the car enthusiasts in the area recommend this location for cars with aftermarket suspension components. I was very pleased with the results after I got my car back. Drives as straight as it did when I bought it unmodified. Thank you Burnett Automotive!
Very good place. First calls you with the price and what is needed for the service then.
Very awesome service! This place will really take care of you. They did an excellent job on both my car tires and my trailer tires and gave me a great deal on the tires to boot! I would highly recommend Burnett Automotive to everyone that needs car or truck service or any kind of tires for their car or truck!
Awesome guys
A great tire shop. So many other tire places will try to up sell you on services not needed. Not this place.
Go to the one across town.
Good dudes who do good work.
Very friendly workers. Took my car in for new tires, they walked me through what kind I should get and why then helped me apply for a Goodyear card so I could use that financing option. Very explanatory about all processes and things needing done. I would recommend again and again and will be returning.
Always quick with the backhanded comments. I've never had a good experience here. If you go here and they say you need to have something done, get a second opinion because they like to update everything even if you don't need it for that extra buck. No welcoming faces in person either. Will not be giving them anymore of my business.
After an slight confusion. customer service representative went out of their way to solve the confusion with great responses and professional manner.
So far I've made two appointments, no contact what so ever. I personally don't mind not coming in at the times that I requested & come in whenever what's best for the shop and I. But... that requires a call back... a reply message... to the customer... stating you have received the appointment but cannot fulfil such times & try to recommend another time for such customer.
Very bad experience twice. There will be no third time...
I just had them fix some tires for me. They were able to get me in in a timely manner. Service was good
After arriving in Manhattan on the way to Topeka our car developed a hard jerking to the right side and we had to pull over. They were the only shop that was open on a saturday, and even though they were very busy, looked at our car the same day. Thats where to good ends though... After 8 hours, they had found a loose driver side tie rod and replaced the whole assembly. Costing us over $400 for just that (and the following $80 necessary alignment), we got the car back and drove home with no issue. The next day the same problem reappeared and we were lucky to be near home. After inspecting it myself, the passenger side inner tie rod boot had been blown completely open. I am going to be doing the rest of the work myself and have to say that I'm certainly not satisfied with the skills of the mechanics at this shop. Although i will say they were very kind and worked right up until close in order to work on our car. Although it might have been better if they took their time to actually find the issue and not just patching up the first suspect part.
I went in to find out why my Jeep was leaking antifreeze. I was told to go to a machine shop cuz my block was too rusted to replace the freeze plugs., and my block needed to be bored. I have since tore off both of my manifolds to find out the block wasn’t rusted. They just didn’t want to replace my freeze plugs!!
A decent shop in a town with a very small selection of service stations. I think they, like everyone else in town charge a little high but they get the job done. I needed new tires for my car and the little apple dealer wanted to charge way more for what I could get online. I called Burnett and they said they would get me the tires for the price I found online and after all services and charges I ended up paying 200 less with them than I would have at Little Apple. Customer service is OK but like I said, there isn't much else in town to choose from. I'm not sure I would go to them for major repairs and services though.
Helpful, efficient, affordable.
Best service and customer care in town!
Love this place. Austin and his guys are hard-working, knowledgeable, and courteous. Feel like I'm chatting with old car buddies when I go here!
Called six hours after dropping my car off for two new tires. Jeremy said that it wasn't done. I get a ride over 5 minutes later to find that it is done. Best part was that they had to fix my battery connection which resets my stereo clock to 12. I get in my car at it reads 4:16. So...either it took 4 hours to change two tires or my car had been done for a while. Edit 7/8: Austin reached out to me to clarify the situation and offered to make it up to me. They reached out twice. Once shortly after I posted my review and another today. I give their response to my issue a 5/5. Sometimes things happen and Burnett was prompt and thorough about repairing a possibly damaged relationship.
A father's best friend for KSU student's car needs! Multiple years-cars-kids... GREAT EXPERIENCE EVERY TIME!!!
Great people and great service! We've been going to both locations in Manhattan for years and have never had an issue. They are so good that nearly everyone goes to them... so make sure to call and make an appointment since they are often too busy to take in a walk in for something like an oil change. They'll also drive you to wherever and pick you up if you need to leave the car with them all day and don't have a ride.
Very professional
Good, trustworthy guys.
This place was great. I know nothing about cars, a fact that I'm sure was very obvious to the person helping me, but he was super nice and explained everything and did not try to take advantage of the fact that I was clueless. They did what needed to be done, no more, and it was reasonably priced. Very friendly and helpful, and I'd definitely recommend them to anyone.
Service vehicle and sell tries and install them
Did not engage with the sales department, but the friendly employees inside the sevice and parts department were great. Went for a recall notice and was quick and simple for them to do.
Had some work done on my car about a month ago and something happened after the repairs. I brought it back and they fixed it no charge. They were nothing but nice, friendly and helpful! Highly recommend out of all places in Manhattan! They stood by their work which was very impressive.
My family has been customers of Burnett for as long as I can remember. We always feel we get good, honest service and everyone is friendly. I just moved back after moving around for 10 years and was happy to return here. I wanted to get my husband's car serviced while he was out of town and they went above and beyond to help me get it done.
If you are reading these reviews DO NOT waste your time here. Mechanic has an attitude , and his front desk buddy . My car went for a 4wheel alignment and this mechanic took a impact to my brand new steering components that were torqued to specs then had the balls to tell me I had loose bolts. Little did hes talking to mechanic .
Son of Steve Laird here replying to the owners reply to my father. First of all I was told it could have been caused by “something getting into my engine” wonder if this “something could have entered through the seal you guys didn’t even put on or perhaps the loose spark plug you just admitted to changing or let’s talk about my engine cover you guys didn’t put back on my car. Or how about the fact that you guys said you had it down in your notes it was smoking when I brought it in for leaks then when I asked if it was a good investment I was told “yes I still put money into my old Lincoln with 200,000+ miles” now if you had it in your notes why wouldn’t you inform me of this when I asked? Was it because you guys are not good people and are money driven and have no care for the local people of Manhattan like most other reviews say? Hmm also never got a call back from the owner, don’t know why he always reply’s online justifying his wrong doing. You have my number you can either call me or you can reply AGAIN hiding behind your keyboard.
The worst experience I've ever had with a mechanic. Have spent an absurd amount of money there on four different trips in the last two weeks. The first 3 times I get my car back there is a new expensive problem within 24-48 hr. On the last visit I brought it in because the check engine light came on and I couldn't go over 30 mph. They replaced the speedometer to the tune of $400. 24 hours after getting the car back- same exact problem. At a minimum, they don't know what they're doing. At worst, they are creating new problems every time I bring the car in and then charging me to fix them- poorly. Either way, save your money and go ANYWHERE else.
Best service in town.
They were amazing
Great staff Daniel was very informative and please tell would definitely recommend
Who forgets to put the motor oil reservoir cap back on after an oil change? My car was smoking and when i opened up the hood I saw a bunch of oil spilled all over the engine. They wanted me to drive back to the shop and I refused so then they took thirty minutes to get to where I was (8min drive). Needless to say I won't be going back, I don't trust them anymore.
Austin at Burnett's was awesome! I called him first thing in the morning to repair my tire, he told me to bring it on in and had it done before noon like I had asked. He was very friendly and efficient.
I would suggest going to this store if you enjoy getting ripped off. Bought 4 tires from them with a guarantee of a free rotate and balance any time that I wanted. First time I got scrutinized for making this request for having such low mileage on the tires. Second time I went after many many miles they only did a rotate and tire pressure check. This place is not a real shop. They're a scam. It's a shop that tells their employees to do the very minimal that is required of them or they just love hiring people who don't like to do work. It's either or.
There is good and bad the good was we brought our vehicle in from an out of town trip with no appointment and they looked at it that day but the bad was they didn't fix the problem after they charged us $320 to replace one tie rod. The part is $30 we ended up replacing the other tie rod, CV axle, struts, and got new alignment (charged fairly for the alignment) for about that cost.
Honest and efficient place. Granted I've only used them once but I thought I had a bad starter and instead of simply replacing it and charging me $300+ for parts and labor, it turned out there was a loose terminal on the battery, which only cost $30 for testing. I dropped my car off the night before and by 9am the next morning, I received a phone call from a friendly mechanic explaining the real cause of my issue (he said he had checked that my van started 15 times in a row successfully without any problems). I appreciated the honesty as this could've been disguised as a more malignant issue. Would definitely recommend and will be returning should I have any issues in the future.
Struggled to find a place in Manhattan where I was confident I could get honest repair service at a fair price until we tried Burnett. Price is lower than dealership, service and people are superior. Biggest testament is that when I did have a problem with my service they addressed it and made it right.
Honest affordable establishment. Made a house call to check out my car for free.
They do great work and they are very helpful and knowledgeable on anything that you might need done.
Dave at Burnett is friendly and willing to listen to all my crazy explanations, reasons, and simulated car noises. This shop consistently does quality repairs. Thanks!
My number one place for oil changes and service in Manhattan
Very accommodating and good service when taking care of our vehicle! Appreciated the communication throughout the process!
I brought my truck in to get the tires replaced and had excellent service. The staff is very knowledgeable, friendly and professional. They get the job done expediently and send you a video showing everything that was done. I definitely will do business with them in the future.
Always good to the customer.
My favorite auto shop in town. They have a van that they use to take you and pick you up to where you need to go in town, they warranty their work, they go the extra mile with things like cleaning your windows before giving you your vehicle back. I highly recommend getting your vehicle serviced/repaired here!
Don't get me wrong, they do great work but charge way too much for it. They asked $2000 to replace the a/c compressor in my car so I took it home and did it my self for $250. I took it back to get it recharged and they charged my around $150 for it when my home town shop on kc did the same job for $70.
I had an oil change in May, just went to get another one this week at a different place. Can't get my oil changed because Burnett Automotive stripped my oil pan. Thank you for costing me an extra $300!
A few years ago they'd tried to charge me $650 to get my brake pads replaced, which is a joke. One of their techs tried to harass and shame me into changing my air filter when I blatantly said I couldn't afford it this time. Third strike, I'd had a back window 'permanently' closed because the window motor broke, found out later at another facility that they'd literally just taped it up with packing tape and charged me $40. Don't even try this place.
Works fast
A+
Good service at a reasonable price. I prefer going here over my vehicle manufacturers repair shop.
Always make an appointment even when they say you don't have too... Cause you still will. Otherwise nice people and good service. Like that it's in the middle of Manhattan.
I have had terrible experience not once, but a few times at this location and mechanics. I am having to have my front brake system reinstalled only a little over a year after having Burnett's doing this service for me. Not only were they overpriced, but the job was done poorly and incorrect. I was informed that whoever had did the previous brake job did not correctly do their job and now is causing issues down the road for me having to have them re serviced. I HIGHLY DO NOT RECOMMEND GOING TO BURNETTS IN MANHATTAN!! You can find a much cheaper and trustworthy mechanic in town!
THE VIDEO OF THE SERVICE TECH SHOWING THE SERVICE REPAIR IS A REAL NICE TOUCH FOR THE CLIENT. IT DEMONSTRATES THE WHERE AND THE WHY THE SERVICE IS NEEDED.
They were awesome
I've been bringing my vehicle to this shop for years. The employees are very polite, personable, give quality advice and are always professional. The pricing is fair and if your looking for other options, they are always willing to help you find a solution. The manager, Austin, always makes a point to greet and help the customers and even works out in the shop when they are short handed. Very impressive if you ask me! Burnett's will forever be my recommendation to anyone that asks for advice on where to take their vehicle!
Quick and fairly priced
Outstanding service by honest staff. Service is quickly available. Have gone there for many years.
I forgot to ask for his name, but whoever helped me buy tires, was very respectful and helped me save money on great tires.
Excellent customer service, as always. Have always been able to trust Burnett's advice and care of my vehicle.
Never really had an issue here. Always up front with their prices and they're generally very happy.
These guys are awesome. I dropped a freshly refinished set of wheels and dismounted tires off at 4 on a Friday, with no appointment, and they mounted and balanced them perfectly before close. Will absolutely return for future work.
I had my son take my Jeep in for an oil change and to fix my tire that had a nail in it just a couple days before the appointment. They were able to do both within an hour and a half. I appreciate that they are so nice and helpful.
Very knowledgeable
West Side - I've been taking my car here for about a year and have no complaints. They explain things very well and do everything they can to get your car up and running.
