I had new tires put on my vehicle last year at carmerica, everything was fine. The staff was friendly but not over helpful. Today I went back at 12:30 pm., after explaining my problem i was having with my wheel, the girl at the counter acted like they really didn't have time for me and even asked if I really needed it looked at. She said if I wanted to bring it back at 2:30- 3 they would have time. When I said ok, she said she would put me down for that time. (Sounds like an appointment to me. ) When I returned, i explained to the guy at the counter what happened, he said he would go see if the tech had time to look at it. When he came back, he said "he doesn't have time today, too much going on." Then he just went on and answered the phone. Terrible customer service! I wont be back anytime soon.

I've been to Carmerica about 5 times, I went specifically because I was loosing oil in my car, each time they claimed to fix my car & did not, close to $1000 after the 5th time, my car is even worse than before and the problem still isnt fixed, honestly I'd rather have my car blow up or be stranded because of it then spend 1 more dollar at this place, they're a bunch of crooks that just want your money & can pretty much only change a tire correctly. they've lost my buisness & after you read this I hope they lose yours, please don't spend your money at this place, you'll just be throwing away your hard earned cash

I live in Georgetown, IN and while it’s not that far away, I still spent a good 25 min driving to Sellersburg. I scheduled my appt on Thursday for an 8:30am time on Monday. When I get there, my tires were not ordered. I just go a sorry from the guy at the desk!! Not the service I used to know at Carmerica.

Huge pothole on the highway exit and i have to get to georgia... My tire rim was bent and leaking air... I was screwed..... And These guys were closing and they took us in fix us up and got us out at a very very resonble price. They saw how desperate we were and didnt try to pull one over.. Great service! I have been meaning to write this review for a year and a half. My wife and I were driving from Indianapolis to Florida in September 2015. We stopped in Sellersburg to have breakfast and smoke was coming from under the hood of our car. We asked a waitress in the restaurant if she knew of a reputable car service. She said she did not but introduced us to the ex police chief. He then told us to take it to Carmerica. When we arrived they said that they were expecting us. The Ex Chief had called told them our situation and to help us. We were on our way in about three hours. They replaced the transmission pan gasket. Thanks Jerry. Great service.

I’ve done business with Carmerica for years, but I think that will be ending now. I enjoyed doing business with a “local place” with a very kind and caring owner that has apparently retired. As I’ve seen less of that caring owner, I’ve become more disappointed with this business. My daughter is grown and driving now, and 18 months ago I treated her car and Carmerica to a new set of high quality tires. The tires had an impressive 80k mile plus rating. We paid the extra dollars for their hyped up “road hazard” warranty. The place is only 1 mile from my house, and I encouraged my daughter to stop in and partake of the “free included tire rotations” every 6000 miles as instructed by the manufacturer’s paperwork. On a few occasions when she brought the car in at the 6000k intervals, she was told “it didn’t need it yet” judging by the tire wear. perhaps they didn’t want to be bothered by “free included work”? I recently reminded her it was time to get her tires checked and / or rotated again, and this time the news was bad; These summarized quotes were relayed to me by my daughter as phone messages and texts as I was out of town, and trying to help her through this recent visit. “Your 80k plus front tires are worn dangerously thin at 27,000 miles.” “The rear tires are less than 50% worn, and it is safer to leave the dangerously worn tires on the front, rather than move them to the rear, until the replacements arrive, and the manufacturers say so.” “We don’t keep records of your warranty, even though you bought your tires with us, you should contact the manufacturer.” “Buy these General tires as replacements, for the same price as your premium tires , because they are made by the same people.” “The extra $40 you paid for road-hazard does not apply to premature tire wear” ... The heavy front tire wear apparently came from an alignment issue that I think should have been caught if they were checking, and rotating her tires every 6000 miles as she asked. My daughter should have been made to feel welcomed when she came in for service intervals. I had been hoping to teach her a lesson in the value of dealing with a reputable local business. The manufacturer said that their warranty is void if you don’t have records of tire rotations every 6000-8000 miles, and your local dealer should know this. My daughter said she was always made to feel a little stupid and uncomfortable by folks at Carmerica, and she would now rather never go back, and I think I will follow her direction. I really hoped I could have continued the original happy story of great hometown service from a great hometown business, but it appears I can’t.

The alternator on my yukon died at 3 am while driving on vacation. After camping out in a Waffle House till auto repair shops opened. While the others in the area wouldn't help us the folks at carmerica took us in right away. The issue was quickly diagnosed and fixed. They had us on our way again in little over an hour. They were fast, friendly, courteous, and reasonably priced. I would highly recommend them to anyone needing auto service.

Brought my car in for an alignment. It was repaired fast and at a fair price. Had previously wrote that a cd was stolen from my car. It was found in my malfunctioning cd player. Sorry guys. I would recommend anyone to get there car fixed there.

So, on a road trip and our tire exploded into angry rubber shards littering the interstate. Ugh, hair tearing and a donut tire layer we Googled tire repair and this popped up. THANK GOD. These guys were professional, had a clean facility, gave us a fair and honest price, and had a new tire bolted on within 35 minutes flat. We were confused because good customer service and honest prices are rare. Oh, and there was a clean bathroom. I don't usually write reviews, but I'm more than happy to. Highly recommend.

Watch out for these people. My mom was there 4/7/2017, she Was getting new tires and rims. She was there over 2 hours and I went up there to see what was taking long and once I got there my mom went and asked how much longer and the owner Kevin, stated it shouldn't be too much longer and asked if she would like to go ahead and pay? My mom was like sure since it wont be long. As soon as she paid they came and told her they don't fit and would not give her a refund. My mom spent 1200.00 and they offered her 100.00 worth of coupons and everyone working there was laughing. My great grand father always goes to them and it makes you wonder if they have ripped off others. The rims that they said were new was rusted and crap. My moms husband went today 4/8/2017 and they only refunded him $200, when she paid 1200.00!!! PLEASE be wry because, ALL AMERICAN AUTO SALES across the street from them was just shut down due to fraud and then this. Whats kinda funny is that right after my mom paid I was telling her about the car place across the street and right when I leave she calls me and tells me what just happened to her at Car America right after I drove off. So my family will not be returning.....And we will be getting our back through every means necessary

These guys are great! Knowing I needed new tires for the truck and wanting to find some new wheels as well, I talked to Kevin and he helped me put the entire thing together. He pointed me in the right direction to search for wheels and recommended a great set of tires. The work was perfectly done and the truck looks incredible. They also installed a leveling kit to eliminate the rake. Love the way it looks and drives. I live in Louisville and pass several other shops to get to one I trust. Highly recommend.

Awesome!! I had to have axles replaced on my scion, I was 8 hours from my destination with my infant doughter. The restrooms were really clean and the couches were comfortable. The mechanics knew what they were doing and diagnosed the problem quickly. While waiting on parts they assisted us in finding a good clean hotel and even offered us a ride. They did not take advantage of the fact we were from out of town. Extremely caring and professional.

We had a bad alignment problem on our way home for Christmas, and showed up to Carmerica 10 minutes before they closed. As it turns out the bad alignment had rubbed the front tires down to the metal. Kevin and his team took amazing care of us. They stayed late, fixed all of our issues at a very reasonable price, and sent us on our way, saving Christmas! Highly recommend this place!!

On a recent camping trip to Charlestown Indiana State Park we hit something on the road that caused a flat tire while pulling our trailer a few miles outside of the park. The next day we started the process of looking for a tire shop to replace the tire learning the tire was not repairable. We happen to have the warranty on the tire however it is a very unusual size that is often not carried (we knew this from the past). We were directed to Carmerica Tire Pros for our warranty in Sellersburg. When I contacted them the owner Kevin explained that this size tire was not carried in store by anyone (my fear) and it had to be ordered from the warehouse of which he said closed in 20 minutes. He said he could have it first thing Monday but I needed to be back in Indianapolis for work by then as I explained to him we were camping and could not pull the camper on a spare. He put me on hold and made a few phone calls to see what he could do on short notice and late in the day on a Saturday. Kevin was able to pull through and literally save me as I would have been stuck in a bad way. Upon arrival to his location they were extremely pleasant and fun to be around. Kevin even took care of the warranty phone call and paperwork which after listening to him deal with it I was impressed he still was able to wear a smile and joke around. They installed the tire and put my spare up before sending me on my way. I can honestly say I have never had a better experience in a tire shop. If you are in need of tires or other repairs they offer, you will not be disappointed. World class customer service and experience. Totally destroyed a $ 450.00 tire that just needed re-mounted. One of my tires for my jeep had a leak around the bead. I asked for them to just re-mount, left it couple days. No call to tell me it was ready, so I stopped in to pick it up. I find a nice 3" gash in sidewall aprox 4-5" inches from the tread. "Non repairable tire" is what I was told.

While just 15 miles into my drive from Louisville to Indianapolis I noticed my brake light had come on right when I suddenly needed to brake. The brake petal suddenly dropped to the floor - luckily my Honda has a manual transmission and I threw it into neutral to keep from hitting the car in front of my me and quickly started down shifting as I without hesitation took the exit 6 exit off of 65. Carmerica is located right off of the exit. I was barely able to stop at the traffic light to turn left to enter Carmericas parking lot. I walked into Carmerica and though Kevin and his staff where completely swamped from a full garage to phones ringing off the hook Kevin reassured me not to worry that he would get me back on the road. Never in my life have I received such amazing service. Carmerica is a family owned business and you feel that level of comfort from Kevin and all of his staff. The honesty and compassion I felt while waiting for a brake caliper replacement has certainly earned my business in the future!

I got a tire replaced on a Monday the next Monday the same tire I replaced blew out driving down the interstate. Went back to see if they would stand behind their work and was very rudely told they were to busy to even look at the tire. I then went to tires plus and had an excellent experience. Unprofessional!! Made an appointment to have my car looked at and when I took it in, I was told they are booked until Monday afternoon. When I then explained that I was put down for an appointment, I was then told that my name was not down. I had gave them all the info for the car and my name while on the phone making the appointment. Absolutely ridiculous. Will not use them again!

I took my wife's car here because it had trouble starting. Online reviews were good so we figured this was our best bet. Unfortunately, our experience was not as good as everyone else. First of all, their customer service is practically non-existent. Every time we called to check on the car they asked us why we were calling. After explaining, they put us on hold to get someone else, who we had to tell everything over to again. One time while we were on hold, someone picked up the phone to ask us why we were on hold! And then we still got called by a mechanic to ask us what they were supposed to be looking for. They did eventually find and fix the problem (after two days and multiple follow-up calls from us). All seemed well and good until we drove it home (about 1-2 miles up the road) and then woke up the next morning to find that it had a flat. Given that the tires were brand new and had no issues when we took it in the shop, this seemed a bit suspect. So we called the shop. They told us they'd look at it. We made an appointment and took it in around 9am on Saturday. They are open until 4pm on Saturdays so when it got to be 1pm and we hadn't heard anything I was pretty nervous. When I called, the person on the phone had no idea what the status of the car was, as usual. They went to check and it turned out they hadn't even pulled it in to look at it yet. Bear in mind this is with an appointment and three hours from their closing time! After explaining my frustration with the entire ordeal, the person on the phone tried to defend themselves by saying that they had another person they put brand new tires on and they had a flat by the time they got to a nearby gas station about a block or two down the road. Apparently it is common for cars to mysteriously get a flat after being serviced here. Fortunately, the person on the phone this time claimed to be the owner. Although defensive he did offer to fix the tire for free (provided there was no damage to the rim/wheel itself). Sure enough once the owner got on it the car was done in 30 minutes! Overall the experience was extremely frustrating. I'm giving them two stars only because they did ultimately make the situation right, otherwise it would have been a one star review for sure. Ultimately, I doubt I will ever return to this place.

I visited this shop on 6/27/19 because I was having an issue with my car overheating. This shop was conveniently across the street from the hotel I was staying at (I was in the area for work), and it also looked fairly busy, which usually I would take as a good sign - in this case, it was not. I got to the shop a little before 11AM, and the man at the front desk, seemingly bothered by even having to deal with a customer, told me he would be able to get me in before lunch to at least find out what was wrong with it, since they "try to give travelers a priority". I thanked him, gave him the key to my car, and went back to my hotel to get ready to check out. After about an hour, I went back to the shop to check on the progress. My car was still sitting in the same spot it was when I dropped it off. No big deal, right? Wrong. I continued to sit in the lobby of the shop for a total of 2 hours before they decided to finally acknowledge me, make some joke about me "being from Chicago", and finally took my car back. My car was in the bay for less than 10 minutes. They came out and talked to me, giving me an estimate for the total repairs. They said that the radiator was cracked and had a leak in it, and that was what was causing the engine to overheat, and that the repair total would be $749.00. Absolutely no way was I able to make that happen that day, not to mention the fact that I needed to get home that day as well. I told them I would not be having the work done, and they could just bring my car back out. They brought my car back out and asked me to come to the desk. Since I was never asked if any kind of charges/additional testing were okay, I wasn't really sure why this was necessary. This is when they guy at the front desk told me that my total would be $123.95 for the diagnostic. But wait a minute, my car was back there for less than 10 minutes! Well, the "technician" said that he had to "pressure test" the unit, and that's why they had to charge me. Eager to get out of this place, I paid them and got my keys and left. FAST FORWARD... I was able to have a family member tow my vehicle home, and we took it to our local shop the next day. There was not one issue with the radiator WHATSOEVER. There was a broken hose clamp. A $12 part that needed replaced. Also, where that hose clamp was located, there was no way that the shop would have been able to see it without taking the entire front nose off of the car, which they definitely didn't do considering the car was in the bay for about 10 minutes. I can't help but feel like this shop BLATANTLY took advantage of me, not only because I was a woman and seemingly didn't know any better, but also because I was from out of town and they assumed that they could just get one over on me. There was not a thing wrong with the radiator that they tried to charge me almost $800 to replace, not to mention there was no reason for the $123.95 charge to me for the diagnostic. If I lived in this area, I would never recommend this shop to my worst enemy, they are not a reputable business! Lost 3 hours of my time in this shop and almost $125 worth of hard earned money for nothing.

Drove it to Carmerica where Kevin and Lisa provided us prompt, courteous service at a very reasonable price to put a plug in the tire. We were able to continue our trip without any delay. Would highly recommend their shop in Sellersburg and would be worth the drive if one lives out of the area. We certainly will try to do business again with them when our tires need replaced. Got us in, balanced all the tires and checked the alignment (we had lost a wheel weight) and got us back on the road. The price was very fair. Been a loyal customer for years until just recently. They have always been pricey but usually are speedy. Had to have an alternator replaced on my car and someone took my battery clamp out when they tested the battery. When I got the car back they forgot to secure the battery back down and if i hadn't checked it when i got home it could have been disastrous. The battery clamp itself was missing. Instead of owning up to their mistake, they lied and said it was already like that. The owner himself said it's my word against theirs and he won't make it right revealing his true colors. It's a $20 dollar part to replace. He is a greedy, self righteous sob, and doesn't care about repeat customers. Don't trust their work they may do things fast but it makes them careless and it's only a matter of time before their careless work gets someone killed.

These guys are completely amazing. I was driving from North Carolina to Indiana for a wedding weekend and was on the Louisville bridge when all the warning lights came on in my Subaru. I rolled in to their lot just after closing. Not only did they immediately diagnose the problem but they actually stayed after hours to replace my alternator so I could make it to a rehearsal dinner that night. They were so kind, honest and generous and had me back on the road in just over an hour. Phenomenal job. Totally incredible service, fair prices and just all around good people. We blew a trailor tire during a move and found that our tires were under rated for our trailor. We called Kevin and he was able to hook us up with 2 tires and helped us find the 3rd at another dealer. He and his staff stayed late to help us and he installed the other dealer's tire as well. Lisa was very friendly and made sure our wait was comfortable. I can also add they have the nicest restroom of any tire store I have ever been in.

We've been to CarAmerica all the time because its closer our home. We stopped by in the morning and asked for new front tires and the Salesman told us that the car should be ready by 3pm. We stopped by at 3pm and the boss asked us what we need. We told him that we came pick our car up and he was confused. He went into the shop and one of his employee did not replace our tires so we had to wait for another 30 minutes so the boss was upset his co-worker for not doing his job. Boss gave us a nice discount $60 dollar off.
