If you plan to have your car serviced here, I would recommend bringing a lawyer. These guys love the bait and switch trick. The owner Rich is a real piece of work. When you drop the car off they will give you a "deal" price, however once you come to pick up the car price has skyrocketed! I went in for an oil change and new tires. After reviewing my dash cam the hood was never even opened!!! I have directional tires that were installed backwards. If you cant change oil or install tires ( the 2 most basic things) you shouldn't be running a mechanic shop!

Please don't use this guys, this guys are crooks. I brought my car which had less air in one of the tire, instead of putting air like I asked, the guy removes my tire and takes a side. Comes back after few minutes and shows me a small nail in my tire. Tells me that I need new tire because it's on the side wall, since I don't no much about tires I tell him ok please replace my tire which was 160 for one tire, he then tells me they will need to replace both tires and I said why the other tire is fine, he tells me it's a safety issue. A light bulb went in my head and I decided to call my cousin, he tells me tell them to put back the tires and put air and just take the car home. So I asked this guys to do that and they seem unhappy about it, but they finally did it and charged me 20 dollars as a service charge. Now my cousin takes my car to another shop and this guys found the nail and said nail was in the middle of the tires so they charge me 10 bucks to fix the tire. This happens month back and my tires is completely fine after 10 bucks fix. I also feel that this guys are the one who put nail in my tire to began with, So please save money and time and go somewhere else.

The staff seems a little disfunctional with a good attitude. That's why I came to this place for a while. I broke my stem valve on my tire and instead of replacing the stem they told I had to replace the whole TPM sensor. They tried to charge me $300 in parts for something that should have been $20 at the most. Then when I asked for my sensor back they said they threw it out. So I had get a new sensor from tire rack for $45 and not $300. I don't trust these people and neither should you.

Came here 5 minutes before they closed with a extremely flat tire called to let them know I'll be there as soon as I could and they stayed open for me I don't know to many places willing to do that.. for someone who works in customer service I absolutely loved there service I was treated so good the price wasn't bad and they finished 30 minutes or less if I could give this place 10 stars I would thank you guys so much

Those people are THIEVES! I don't write any reviews usually put those people robbed me in front of my eyes! I went there with some vibrations in my car at > 60 MPH speeds. They showed me my front whiles and told me that they need to be replaced just because there's minor dents in them, also They said that O need to replace two of my tires. When I said that I can't offered the price they gave to get that done, the lady at the front desk offered to charge me just $50 the get the wheels straightened instead of replaced but she said that I must buy at least one tire claiming that she was worried about my safety and that she wasn't trying to scare me to take my money but my wheels must be straightened. She said that the cheapest tire she has is $90 so she charged me $140. They don't let customers usually see what they are doing with the car but I ignored the sign and went to see what they were doing and I was surprised to see that they just switched my front tires to the back without fixing any dents and when I asked the mechanic who was working on my car if he was gonna straighten the tires he said that they can't do that here because they don't have the machine which does that. When I told him that the lady just charged me $50 for that he was speechless and didn't know what to say. I went straight to the mangers office who's apparently the father of that lady and O told him about what happened. He agreed to give me $30 back but when I got my car back it had a big scratch on the driver's door.

Too expensive, shady pricing (This is an edited response) I originally put 5 Stars; my wife and I have been coming here since 2012, and have always been treated fairly. But up until today, as I’m writing this, Lucas wasn’t just about fairness, it was about affordability. I came here to get some work done on my car, because they have always been competitive with their prices. But the last few months of us coming here, they have actually been more expensive than other quotes from other auto repair shops. We came in and rich, the manager, offered me a deal on tires. He gave me the absolute steal of 430 out the door, when the price of everything was about 440. I’m sorry, but that isn’t much of a deal to me. In addition, they couldn’t find where the air filter was on my car, so they couldn’t replace it. They told me to go to the dealer. They said because we can’t find it, and it’s our fault, we’re taking 20 bucks off your out the door price... The regular price of an air filter here is 30 bucks. So I’m paying THEM ten bucks for an air filter I didn’t get in the first place! Then when I tried to pay with their coupon book, I was told it wasn’t valid because of the deal they had already gave me. That’s disappointing. I would recommend anyone to go anywhere else for their work. It was 410 altogether for tires and wiper blades. No thanks.

I have been thinking about it for months if I wanted to write this review and I finally decided nobody else should have to deal with the experience I did. I came here a few months ago to have tires put on my car after I had an entire 3 hours fiasco trying to get the tires I had ordered online put on at Walmart. I was instantly put at ease by the manager, Darius, he was super friendly, and I felt good about using this place. I asked him for my quote, as I had a price range, due to that’s the amount I had. He gave me a quote which was in my budget, and I left as I had to go to work and I would pick up the car later and agreed to pay over the phone since I would be off after their business hours. The owner then calls me a few hours later telling me it’s time to pay, and tells me a completely different amount, I told him the quote I had been given and tried to find out why it would be more than i had been quoted and he got irate with me, told me this was the cost and that’s that, and if I didn’t like it he could take the tires back off and leave my car, then hangs up on me. The manager then directly calls me back after, and apologies saying the owner had added something to the quote that I didn’t do. I paid the amount that I was originally quoted and I later came to pick up the car. What started out as a great experience ended up being a nightmare. Dude should just let his staff run his business bc he has no people skills.

After finding myself with a flat tire on a Sunday the rude staff told me that they could take a look at my tire for no charge to see if anything could be done. I told them I would wait and so they stamped my info with a large WAIT stamp. About 45 minutes later I asked to see how everything was going and was told my two new tires were almost on. Hold on... I only asked you to check to see if my one tire could be patched. They proceeded to tell me that they called a random number and the person said to go ahead and put two new rear tires on. To make things worse they went on to say that I had to pay for the labor even though I never even authorized any work to be done. Save yourself a headache and go somewhere else for your car repairs.

Worst shop in Chicago. DO NOT GO THERE FOR ANYTHING BUT CHEAP TIRES OR YOU WILL REGRET IT FOR THE REMAINDER OF THE TIME YOU OWN YOUR CAR. I had a clutch replaced on my truck for $1,200 that never worked properly again. The day I picked it up, they claimed the reason it didn't feel right was that the manual transmission went bad. A manual transmission never goes bad. I took it to the Toyota Dealership and they charged me $2,400 to repair the damage done by Lucas. They are fraudulent thieves, a total chop shop, which you can tell by the extremely high turnover among technicians and front desk staff. Buyer beware.

I came into this auto and body shop on the last Saturday in February to get work done on my car and a flat tire replaced. 12 days later the same tire that they supposedly replaced with a brand new tire, was flat again. I came back in, they first said they had no record of me being here. Then they told me the tire that was put on they do not sell. Then they remembered they used to sell the tire, but stopped and this was probably the last from that batch of tires. Probably wasn't a new tire! They would not give me a new tire at no cost and charged me to replace the tire, which again is supposedly 12 days old, has no nails in it, and had only been driven on for 20 miles. NEVER COME TO THIS PLACE, THEY WILL TRY AND CHEAT YOU!!!!!!!!!!!!!

DONT GET SERVICE HERE, IT'S GARBAGE!!! Went for a wheel alignment on 5/18/17 they told me it would be $40 if they couldn't do the alignment (which is already stupid) and $89 for an alignment. They asked me why I thought I needed an alignment and after stating my reasons they said okay. I asked an estimated wait time to get the alignment finished and they said an hour. So I waited, after an hour a employee approached me and I thought my car was ready, they told me they couldn't do it so I waited an hour for no reason. They gave me stupid reasons on why they couldn't that could have been checked in about 10 minutes but they decided to take an hour after having no customers/cars waiting. At this point I was already Irritated and waited an extra 15 minutes standing in the front desk waiting for the lady to check me out. After waiting an exesive time she tried to charge me $116. I told her that was the wrong price and she gave me attitude (Showing she can't do her job right, it's one price or the other). While I was there I also overheard the wait time to get ONE tire changed because it had a nail in it was 1 hour. Ridiculous.

DISHONEST with TERRIBLE service. I went there to get a flat tire fixed - after waiting hours, they finally called to tell me the tire was unfixable, and in addition, all 4 of my tires were "in pretty bad condition and should probably be replaced." They then proceeded to tell me I needed a new timing belt, which is when I knew they were total liars, because my friend who is a mechanic just replaced the timing belt 2 weeks before. Not wanting to do any business with them after this giant lie, I simply asked they put on the spare tire from inside my trunk. When I arrived to pick up my car, they charged me $20 for putting on the spare on and cautioned that I should come back soon because it was only good for about 100 miles. I nodded, relieved to just get my keys back and drove home. When I got home and got out my vehicle I realized they hadn't even put the spare tire on!!! They just filled up the flat tire with a little air, doing NOTHING to fix the nail holes in it. I took it Hernandez Auto Repair the next day where they fixed the tire for $15. Learned my lesson. NEVER AGAIN. AVOID THIS PLACE AT ALL COSTS!!!

Loved this place at first. My original rating was 5 stars (which is what they responded to). They seemed thorough, professional, and capable. But the more I went back the more I started realizing that they were always finding something "wrong" so that they could sell me something. For example: on my first visit I went in for a tire patch. They told me the tire couldn't be fixed. OK, that's fine. They also told me that another tire needed to be replaced, and that my battery was corroded and needed to be replaced. I had them go ahead with all of it. When I returned for an oil change 3 months later they told me that my battery was corroded and needed to be replaced...when I told them that they'd replaced it only a few months prior they awkwardly said OK and "generously" offered to clean it up for free. I returned two more times and every time something like this happened. On my final visit they told me that someone had put an oil product in my engine that had done something harmful (though, to be honest, they never actually said what the problem was. They just said they found it in my engine and that it was a problem). I don't do work on my car because I have minimal automotive capability. They were the only ones to touch my car over the entire previous year. So if anyone put something bad in my engine it was THEM. I told them that and they basically said "oh" and walked away. The work they do is good, and if it's your only option it's not a bad one. But be careful when they suggest extra work be done. They may be doing necessary work, or they may be trying to squeeze some extra cash out of you. I do not recommend being a return customer.

After years of going to other service shops and constantly feeling like I was getting ripped off and swindled I have finally found a proper service shop that knows how to treat customers. They are by far the best service shop I have been too. After a year of services on two cars I could not be happier. Allen in the front office is knowledgeable and friendly. He takes time to try and diagnose the problem and tell you exactly what he expects to be the issue and what he thinks will need to be done before quoting an expected price. I have never brought my car for a simple oil change and been told that the car suddenly has a myriad of problems that must be addressed immediately. They are always clear about what service must be done, should be done, or can wait a while. Their prices have always been fair and equal or lower than other shops quotes. I was given a great deal on 4 all-terrain tires that beat all competitors pricing both in town and online. I doubt I will ever go to any other service shop.

RUN, DON'T WALK, FAR AWAY!!!! They have some CRAZY SCAMS going on! The first time I went for two tires a few months ago I didn't even realize they were WAY upcharging me on tires. There were two women working the front desk. As sexiest as it sounds, I think this lured me in to believing I wasn't getting a raw deal. I went back recently to get two new tires. I told them I was moving out of state and they said I needed a new cabin air filter for $25. It was $30, plus $30 for labor. When I got home and checked my records, I realized I had just gotten this done 6 months ago. An online check revealed a new one is needed 10,000-15,000 miles. Our car has gone 1,200 since it was changed. Very disappointing. We actually need a full oil change and was thinking about getting maintenance done before moving. I hope they are rolling in their $60 extra bucks they got from me, because they won't be getting the new hundred for those services. UPDATE UPDATE: literally three days after writing this I went to another place to get the maintenance I mentioned above. They said the filer had definitely NOT been changed at Lucas a week prior, and was likely about 6 months old. (Some quick calling confirmed the filter brand was the same as the old place and NOT the brand Lucas used.) Not only did they sell me something that I was not even CLOSE to needing but they DID NOT ACTUALLY DO THE SERVICE THEY CHARGED ME FOR! I went in to Lucas today for a refund. I called a few days ago. Jeanine who "helped" me previously saw me coming and quickly left. Another guy gave me a refund but kept insisting I was not scammed. He was not at all shocked, nor did he argue when I said I was sold it when I didn't need it nor did they actually DO THE SERVICE. Also - a quick search online showed they charged me $129 for tires that typically cost $89. Way dishonest, confirmed by other reviews.

Brought my car back over here because of a flat and this guy tried to rip me off by charging me a hundred bucks for a tire I paid $59 for. Spoke with the manager which gave me a similar tire for the same price. Mechanics here are just con-artists that try and gouge people that don't speak up. (Also he was rude)

They advertise alignments but they do it by a level with no computer and just "eye ball" the whole thing. There are a bunch of training and certification on the wall, but none of those people work there, nor have they worked there in a very long time. He false advertises and it's been seen by another where they purposely do things to your vehicle where you'll need to come back in the near future to get it fixed again. I've seen photos of a lot of it. They've even put wrong oil or regular oil in people's cars when they've even paid for full synthetic. It's sad. Please be careful with your vehicles.

Lucas tires has taken care of me twice. They handled everything un 45 minutes. Alll is great! They even offered me pizza! The price was fantastic. They did everything and i felt like i got a great deal. Bridgette came over and explained everything to me...as im the guy who can barely pay gas! I hiy recommend going. They evwn looked at my whoke car to tell me what i needes in the future!! Love them

Came in because I was given two quotes for two different tire brands. Told them to put the good brand. When it was time to pay, I was charged in the middle so I thought I had gotten a discount for the good tires. Left the place thinking everything was okay but my tire lights came on on my dashboard. Went to check the tires and noticed I was given the cheap set but was charged more for them... Then when I took the air pressure of the tires, I noticed that they had over inflated the back tires and under inflated the front. Max psi on those tires are rated 50 psi, they put 52 on the back tires.. then they put 23 psi in the front... Way under inflated.. enough for lights to come on in my car. I had to take air out of the back tires and put air in on the front tires so I don't destroy this set of overpriced cheap tires. Not sure if the people there know what that are doing

Called on a Saturday and got some good advice about my tire situation. Came in later that day and was taken care of the same hour. Took care of a handful of small things at once (replace two tires, rotation, balancing, repair a valve) and got out the door for a very reasonable price. All in all a great experience.

Came in for a warranty tire replacement. After dealing with lucas and michelin I spent 2 days on the phone trying to correct information between the two of them. In the end I was told michelin would cover 72 percent of the tire cost and the tire cost $220 per tire when the MSRP was $192. When I asked why I was being charged over the MSRP cost I was told that they will not deal with me anymore and he hung up on me. This was odd since the sign in the window says they beat Costco pricing (which was $130 per tire). I should have read the other reviews before wasting my time here.

Just got two new tires at Lucas. Had the pleasure of working with Allen. He's a nice and honest guy. They could have sold me on replacing all 4 tires. Instead they told me to just go with the rear tires that were worn. They worked quickly and were very friendly. Price seemed fair as well. I would recommend the place.

3 days to replace a radiator. Price was "good" but not that good to come back and spend another 3 days waiting. The owner thinks that because he smokes we all have to smoke. The cigarette smell is terrible. Also, they were eating while working on my vehicle but the bad part is that they left garbage next to the engine.

Is there a NO star option? Unbelievable!! DO NOT get your tires here...They sold me 4 cheap tires less than a year ago, the very next day one of the tires sliced open, it was a small cut, I went back and they told me it was nothing and it wouldn't affect it at all, now less than a year another tire now has a bubble in it and I went on today, as I had paid cash, they couldn't find my invoice, I don't think they report cash deals...make sure to hold on to your invoice...I went in and the guy told me I would get a "complimentary" inspection, after I told them I couldn't afford a NEW tire, and frankly I didn't want to spend any more money on that kind of tire, (I think it was reburbished), he said I owed them $20.00 inspection fee... I objected and he then told me "everybody wants something for free", this is NOT me, I believe in paying for all services and keeping your word, I got upset, paid and asked the mechanic for my car back as I was done with this place, he came up and confronted me and took his time further and said he didn't like the way I had addressed him, and took further time with my car.. could not get out there soon enough $20.00 for air is outrageous...Watch it with this place!

After reading all the negative reviews, I was very skeptical while waiting for my truck to finish getting serviced... Let's start from the beginning... I called the day before my visit & the man I spoke with was very helpful & pleasant. He gave me my tire size & quoted me a price. We weren't 100% sure with the size but, I understood that would be settled at my visit in the morning. When I arrived the next day, one of the mechanics rubbed me the wrong way with his rudeness & almost made me want to drive away but, all was forgiven with the great customer service I received from Mr. Greg! Being a concierge supervisor, I am very critical of the service I receive. I have had my share of mechanics getting over on me because I am a young female with limited car knowledge but, I did not get the feeling from this shop at all! Mr. Greg even stopped my children from being restless by giving them a twinkie & cupcake out of his own lunch! My visit was quite & painless!!

I had a great experience here. I needed 3 tires to match one that I had replaced a year earlier. i called around to get the best price. Not only was Lucas Auto the cheapest, they had the best customer service over the phone. The gentleman I spoke with went over all of my options with me clearly and thoroughly, and worked with me to find the best solution. In total I called three times on various details and every time it was the same high level of service. Going there was also great. It's located in a good neighborhood to get errands done while you wait for your car. They also have some couches which were pretty comfy to wait in. Again my interaction with staff was quality. The work is also fantastic. My car is running so much more smoothly after the three new tires and alignment. I also appreciate that they have rewards programs, particularly the free oil change after 3 visits. Surpassed my expectations. I will definitely be going back again. This is my new garage.

Do not trust them! 1) Fraudulent repairs- Claimed to have "recharged my AC" but it still blew warm air. When I took it back they told me there was a crack in the condenser. Why not fix the original crack then? I was on a time crunch so I had them repair it but I wasted $150 on the "recharge" (if it ever happened) 2) They borrowed my car over the Easter weekend "for repairs" and ended up driving the grandkids around in it. Candy was melted into the seats. Never apologized or tried to make up for it. Never went back.

People make sure you make singns to your car’s tires before you go there, especially if your tires are kind of new and you are a woman. Make sure they don’t change your car’s tires with bad ones without you noticing. I went to fix one tire and now i have to change all of them. One of the worse places ever! People working there are disrespectful liars and the job they do is awful!

Overpriced beyond measure. They charge an exorbitant fee just to have you have the privilege of having them look at your car. Then tell you you need $100s of service. Usually charging you through the roof and making up reasons why only this one product will work. I took my car, after paying them the "look at it" fee, to North Park Auto and got my work done for half the price in half the time with a group that doesn't cheat their customers. DO NOT GO HERE!!!

This was the single worst experience I have ever had at a car repair shop. I had a flat tire and was running late for a meeting. They started inspecting my whole car - without my permission or direction - they had my hood up! - until I told them to put the hood down and stop looking for non-existent problems and just repair the tire. They then ‘repair’ the tire which they said had a nail. I get to my meeting with my ‘repaired’ tire, go inside, and when I come back out, the tire is completely flat. I have to get towed back to them. Upon arrival, I point out to them a crack in the side wall of the tire. Whether the crack was there before their repair and they totally missed it, or the crack developed as a result of a bad repair I don’t know. They then try to put a temporary tire on and charge me more money, when a nice and competent tire repair shop a few blocks away on Western Ave had my exact tire in stock. It is my great misfortune that I lost an entire day of my life, and much hard earned money, as a result of happening upon this shop.

Mike was great and a pleasure to work with. We organized for Tire Rack to send in my choice of winter tires and wheels to the shop for Lucas Auto Care to mount, and balance. They mounted my old AS tires on the new wheels. And then my new winter tires on my old wheels. Everything went smoothly, two hours to get all the mounting and balancing done for a price of 160 which was a good deal for the service. I appreciate Mikes diligence, and the competitive prices offered, will come back again for servicing.
