Great dealership ask for mike

Kevin O'Malley

Don't hesitate to make them your first stop when purchasing or having your bike serviced.

Paul Pronti

Below is an entire email thread documenting the following. They verbally agreed to a price & when it came to writing up the purchase agreement, tacked on a 'delivery' fee that they 'explain' is required for 'compliance' and that it's really a 'recondition' fee. The fee happens to be the exact value that was discounted. Read the email. ALL of it's there.

I came to buy a motorcycle and tried to finance. The same day this place looked into my credit and saw that I have 670 credit score, I was told by Jesse (a sales agent) that the bank had accepted me for a $10,000.00 credit. I could not stay longer cause I had to work that day so Jesse told me to come back the following week. After I came back ( drove an hour and a half), I am now being told that I need a co-signer. The finance sales person is also telling me that they need me to bring my residency card and Social security. This is discrimination and is unacceptable. I do not recommend this place to buy anything. I got accepted for the same credit at another dealer and they did not require my papers to get the credit. I should have sued this place for discrimination towards Hispanics.

01-13-2018 Saturday I'm just POSTING because now I know how to POST. The following was last January 2017. I truly wanted to POST this back then. 01-28-2017 Saturday Odometer 51,361 (COLD Day Ride & Friendly Dealership People) I took a ride on this very COLD day of 27 degrees (I even had snow flurries while on I-294 going back South home and even before getting on I-57 from getting gas for this ride). The ride was about 46 miles to my destination of Des Plaines HONDA. I thought in my mind that maybe I should just go home from being with the M.O.A.C.A. guys at McD (Near I-57 & 167th) but I studied the clouds from the North & West location of where I was and said these flurries shouldn't be bad. I got on I-294 at I-57’s new entry ramp and the flurries were over with. All I had to deal with now was the COLD, COLD, COLD. The ride getting to my destination was ok on I-294 West. But at my Exit OFF I-294, seemed as if the weather (the road actually) turned for the worse for me. Once I got OFF at I-294 & Dempster the roads were wet to my surprise. Somehow the roads in this town were wet as if it had rained. And even wetter in their Downtown area for some reason. I had to be very careful traveling on this stretch of road that travels alongside the R/R Tracks. I had to put my flashers ON because ICE was on the road in different areas. I think that was the area where a Car Wash was and the cars coming out onto the main street caused this about-to-be-icy area. I was being safe as usual and looking at the road far ahead to prepare for anything. And that curve just before you go under the R/R Tracks to the HONDA place was pins & needles for me for a bit. Anyway, I rode up there to question them about my seat not heating and the handgrips working sometimes. When I walked in the place, there were several employees helping other customers I saw etc…. . But to my surprise, I was greeted by practically everyone that worked there including some of the customers who were surprised I was riding on this COLD day. I felt like a celebrity in this Dealership. I spoke with John about my problem. He seemed very interested on my concern, and seemed to be very knowledgeable on my problem I brought to him. For the first time, I now understand about my seat heating. John explained to me that my seat does not get HOT like heated car seats (which all along I thought that is how my bike seat is suppose to get). So now I know and must say that the seat does work but not (and nowhere near a car seat heat) how I was expecting it to work and heat. I ride on very COLD days a lot (below 25 degrees sometimes) and the heated seat feels as if I don’t even have it ON. So I also brought to his attention of my heated hand grips. On several occasions (to many to give a number) I have had them ON and they did not get HOT or WARM for some reason. Luckily for me though, my heated gloves, pants, and jacket do a very good job of keeping me warm (especially the pants & jacket). The gloves need some help. And I have 3 different kinds of heated gloves that I’ve been using. I have to type that the heated jacket works so good that I hardly ever turn it ON because of how good it heats. And when it is ON, it’s ON low because I don’t want it to have me sweating and getting my upper area wet (which it can do if to high). John gave me a Business Card to arrange for an appointment after he explained to me what could be the problem of the hand grips not working all the time. I must give KUDOS to this Dealership as mentioned above how they made me feel. I have too often gone into a Motorcycle Dealership and have all kinds of employees walked right past me without saying a hello. A “HELLO” to its customers (me), the customers who have them have a job or the customers that’s keeping them stay in business. With contact like this, I would want to come back and try the actual Service of my motorcycle and see if this is just a front. And that’s not just Motorcycle Dealerships but Car Dealerships as well. For my COLD COLD COLD RIDE today, this Dealership MADE MY DAY.

For a number of years I've had my Goldwing covered by the Preferred Maintenance Plan. Most of the time I've dealt with Fred at the Service counter. He's knowledgeable, friendly, and is thorough in describing options and reasons for work being done. Once the work is complete, he goes through everything that has been done. Once I thought I had a small shimmy after new tires were installed. 3 of the service techs took the bike for a test ride. That's the extent they will go to in investigating an issue. Other times they've coached me on different aspects of care and service I can do myself. As long as these guys stay in business, this will be where I shop and have my bike serviced. "

Igor Dymo

Sales personnel desperately need extensive training. They don't have any clue how to deal with customers: rude, not customer-oriented and simply not educated on any of the customer service basics. Consistently bad experience. Bought my first bike here, yet not ever coming back or recommending it to my friends. Good luck!

Mathew Thomas

Thanks for helloing me out mike Kay

For a number of years I have used Desplaines Honda for winter storage. Their care of my bike was and is greatly appreciated. The courteous and professional work of Fred in the Service Dept. must be noted. Thanks again brother Fred your outstanding work.

Rob Wiebusch

Solid bike shop.

I went here with the intent to trade in my 2012 Silver Wing for a used CBR500R or a used CBR250R. They were courteous and had enough staff to take care of customers, and seamlessly handed me off among about 4 of them there. When I arrived, they had three bikes ready for me to test ride. The first was the 250R. It looked good, not too many miles, but the fork was tweaked. it was off to the right in order to ride straight. Even at $2500, that's not acceptable. The sales manager took it out to check and agreed I was right. Then, they had a 500R. I rode that one and fell in love with it. HOWEVER, when I came back, I found out it was new, not used. I told them I was interested in used, and they got me hooked on this new one. Like a crack dealer, hehehe. The reason I didn't want new is because of the cost. They're a couple grand more than a nice used one, and there's $1,000 worth of fees, taxes and so forth on it. They would not BUDGE on these fees, even the ones they had control over. (for example, the dealer prep fee was hundreds of dollars, just to uncrate and put on the wheels and handlebars) Also, it was a left-over 2017 (last year's model) and they were asking new price as if it were a 2019; wouldn't budge on that price either. I went in looking to spend $5k, and they were steering me toward $8k. They made a fair (for trade-in) offer on the Silver Wing. I had to go, because they didn't have what I wanted in stock, and they weren't willing to deal and meet me in the middle. Lastly, it wasn't an ABS model. In the end, I found a new left over 2015 ABS model north of Milwaukee for under $5k, and they also offered me a fair deal on my trade-in. I saved 3 grand by driving 80 miles north. Now I want to be fair. They were courteous and friendly, just not competitive. Their service area was pretty impressive. I might try them for service some time.

Bought my first bike 2 years ago, pretty good experience. Visited the mechanics downstairs for consultation and help, again mostly good experience. Been to parts department twice and again, good experience. Because it's a smaller store the used inventory is weaker than others. Do also remember their flagship is Honda so you will be limited in choices.

Tyler Flowers

"Everyone did everything they could to help me get the bike I wanted. Frank and Alfredo are awesome! Id recommend them to anyone that wanted to buy a bike. Overall. Outstanding experience, thank you guys"

Ravi Shah

Super staff and great products!

Adapt Gaming

I have been a long time customer of Des Plaines Honda and have always been treated with kindness, respect and never pressured to make a purchase while stopping in to see if there is something new I wanted. Their parts dept has always been willing to order anything I have ever needed from custom bumpers to wheels for my Atv or a Step for for the rear of my AquaTrax. The service department was very knowledgeable and informative with the many questions I asked since bringing my toy's in while under the factory warranty. Keep up the great service and I hope to be back in soon. A proud owner of a Honda Rincon 680 and a Honda Aquatrax 1200 Turbo.

Chirag Parmar

Staff was okay. Service center is horrible. I had recently bought the bike from them and the fuel gauge was faulty. I got stranded middle of the highway for 4 hr. I got my bike towed to a diffrent dealer since they were closed the day this had happened. So I called the next day and the service manager had told the people where I got my bike towed that my bike was still under warranty so they picked it up from them. When they figured out the issue they still charged me when I got there even though they said my bike was under warranty. Mind you this happened less then 2 months of me buying a bike. Horrible place.

Mark Trent

From the first phone call I was impressed by their professionalism. Quick call backs with information and the negotiation was truly painless. I have bought over 50 bikes and other power sports products and have never had this level of service. I bought a 2018 Goldwing and again the delivery was way more than expected. They went above and beyond to make sure that I understood all the features on my new bike. Also bought a couple of helmets and a Sena system from parts, again the service was second to none. Big expenditures can be stressful but I left happy and satisfied with my purchases and what I paid for them

Brian Sloppymeatsauce

I was recently in Des Plaines Honda to put a new front and back tire on my 2004 Honda Shadow VLX600. Everyone was polite as could be. Upon picking up the bike they have it a full point inspection. I was expecting to hear something was wrong seeing I just purchased it used. I was told everything is sound with the bike. Also, was told that it is recommended for a 12,000 mile inspection. I will only use Des Plaines Honda!!

Grant Balbarin

Great purchasing experience at DSPHonda. Friendly knowledgeable staff. Great selection and prices.

Bianca Eldorrado

Des Plaines Honda Motorcycle is a dealership of integrity. Each department I came in contact with (sales, finance, management) is very efficient and responsive to my specific needs and inquiries. I purchased my first bike from DPHM and I would recommend this dealership to anyone in the Chicagoland area. Great experience!

Chris Bolliger

Going there for years. Good and knowledgeable service and parts

Krzysztof Ponikiewski

My experience was great. I recently bought a set of tires here. Staff was very welcoming and friendly. The salesperson was very helpful, knowledgeable and professional. Five star service. I would definitely recommend.

John Theis .

A buddy had been pestering me for years to try Des Plaines Honda for my next purchase; when I saw they had an interesting F6B I broke down and met him there. I traded two bikes in, and the deal was the most transparent and honest as I've seen in 40 years on 2 wheels. Would I recommend these guys? Not only yes, but hell yes.

Jose Aguilar

Recently purchased my fourth bike from this place unfortunately my usual guy is no longer there but it was great dealing with Mike. Thnx Honda of Des Plaines.

Darren Graff

Just purchased my second bike from Des Plaines Honda. Whenever I looked to purchase my bikes I found the best price at Des Plaines. All the staff are very friendly and want to earn your business. They make you feel comfortable and not pressured, unlike other dealers I've been to. I would highly recommend you stop by and give them a chance if they have something you're interested in. I will definitely look to them for future purchases!

Eva Rosol

I've been to quite a few dealerships in my time visiting the u.s. i actually work at the yamaha dealership in toluca, mexico. I walked into a honda dealer wanting to see the new goldwing and i talked to jesse. First of i have never met a young kid who is very passionate about his job and motorcycles. He is very good and quick to answer any question. great dealership . Thank you jesse.

Zafar Syed

One of the best experience you can have when purchasing a motorcycle or parts or gear. I truly appreciate their communication and customer service!

Adam Wolf

Worked with Mike, and the rest of the staff, to purchase a 2019 Grom. It was a quick and hassle-free experience with a fair price. Accessories and Service departments were also very helpful in getting me set up with what else I needed and giving a thorough introduction to the bike. I look forward to working with them in the future.

Andrew Pflaum

I’m very happy with this dealership and that my purchase went well.

Jim J

Young sales manager needs to learn how to negotiate. Not only lost a sale but more importantly lost a local customer. Arrogant punk kid. Go to a bigger store where they have mature people...

Mike Black

One star is generous. Aside from the hidden fees and their unwillingness to match other local Honda dealer pricing, Mike, a sales manager was condescending and disrespectful to his own employee multiple times in front of us. Extremely uncomfortable and we left without purchasing, having had full intentions of buying today.

Eric Storbeck

Always knowledgeable folks, real pleasure to deal with, great shop. If ya need parts, stop by.

Daniel Gray

I purchased a Honda Forza nearly a month ago and I absolutely love it. Terry helped make the deal easy. Mike and Zach provided the professional service with all the paperwork and I met Mark in the shop who seemed knowledgeable about the bikes eventho he was brand new. I'm excited about this purchase and only regret not doing it sooner. Thanks!!

Bob Plant

I left my bike for the 12000 mile service. I was given a loaner (I live an hour away from the shop) and when I returned, my bike was serviced and pristine, with no damage or missing parts.

Nicholaus Hoover

Excellent customer service every time from the parts guys! And the sales guys don't jump all over you if you want to drool on the new goldwings for a while!

Jeff Fowler

i Found a pioneer 700 side by side on their website. The price was right, Drew handled the sale , Fredo got involved, and we agreed on a price. Perfect transaction. No typical salesman bs. Since they treated me so well, I decided to have two of my four wheelers serviced there. I dealt with Mike and Fred. They were awesome. Very professional, and didn’t try to sell me stuff I didn’t need. There is a Honda dealership 10 miles closer to my house, but I’m dealing with these guys for everything I need from now on. Top notch dealer.

Jose Soria

Great customer service. Easy communication with Fred in service department.

Al Robins

The best buying experience I ever had!

"Mike Kay and the folks at Des Plaines Honda were outstanding at walking me through the selection and purchase of my first dirt bike. I learned so much valuable information from them about the bike and needed accessories to start my new adventure! Thank you guys!

Seth Oles

So I recently brought in my 2002 Honda cbr 600 f4i for service,I needed a new camshaft tensioner, front tire and brakes, and a 16k service.and told me I should get my bike back in a week or so.during the week it was being worked on I get a call from fred,he was saying it didn't need the camshaft replaced,it was the chain, thinking to myself,I did know it was loose but all seemed okay but I took his word for it,with the reviews on here I said sure.so then another week goes by,so I called about a week later saying it was the camshaft,I knew it was because if a camshaft tensioner goes it sounds like b.bs in a can shaking loudly.so now he questions the parts I gave him to change it,strongly recommending Honda automatic tensioner (notorious for failing)And I kept saying install the ape tensioner as the f4i forums recommend to do so.then he says the bike will be ready,so I wait at home for the call to get it,never happened.then I call Saturday asking for fred,Marco answered saying fred will call me back as he is with a customer which also never happened.eventually they called Tuesday at 510pm that I could get it,I told them it will have to wait since I had to go to work.i get it saturday, costing 914 dollars!(way overpriced for a tensioner, tire and brake replacement and I said no to their 16k service because of that)riding it home sitting in traffic it stalls, when I inspected the bike at home,I noticed my power commander was unplugged.which is making the motorcycle not run properly since I have a race exhaust and a k@n filter on it,which it will not run without it being programed.upset I was I called then back.marco answered,I told him what happened,he said he will talk to the tech and when he talked to me after a second he said the tech didn't know there was a power commander on the bike, which I didn't get as there's a power cord linked to the battery saying DYNOJET on it at the battery terminal.i told him that version of a power commander has a serial port, you can't plug it in to a modern laptop, they would either have to replace it or pay for a tuning shop to do it,even then the motorcycle was dynotuned on top of that.which is all gone.he said to call dynojet and get software for it.so I did, they stopped all software and firmware for it,saying I have to upgrade my unit.or find a shop that has it to be programmed.i don't get that how didn't they know it wouldn't be stalling if they didn't test drive it before giving it back, and I also noticed that the gas tank key has a hard time opening now, with some weird glue paste to it.which I was able to fix.i now have to either call the general manager or corporate now since they keep saying call dynojet, you did this not me.will not be returning.

Jeff Lunt

Two-time customer -- very satisfied! First time I worked with Doug, Alfredo and others this past Saturday. I setup an appointment beforehand, so when I arrived the bike I wanted to test ride was gassed up and ready to go! Doug was super helpful and easy to work with. The sales process was no-nonsense, and Doug answered all my questions. Post-sale, Doug had me go through a roadmap, which got me introduced to the parts department, and the service department. The service department gave me a great overview of all the details of my new bike, which I found extremely helpful as a brand new rider. Overall, I was extremely happy with my experience! Second time, my sales experience was seamless and quick. Even chit chatting between the various sales steps was a lot of fun. I actually enjoyed getting to know Drew while I was at the dealership. From there, when buying my new bike, I went into the finance department where I talked to Frank. Frank answered all my questions and explained every detail. Frank's a no-B.S. guy, and he just focused on making sure I felt totally comfortable with the process. The people at Des Plaines Honda were a pleasure to work with!

Teddy Dziedzic

Good group of people, always willing to help if you need anything. Plus, you meet the nicest people on a Honda

steve burbick

I really enjoyed my new purchase experience at Des Plaines Honda. Jeff and his team are fantastic and very professional. This is the friendliest dealership I’ve ever dealt with. They really made me feel at home. I’d recommend them to anyone.

Joe J

Fred in Service is great. Wish they had more gear but space is limited and on line companies probably hurting that side of the business.

Nikoli Knasiak

Top notch parts and service department. Mike always takes care of me whenever I need parts for any of my Honda bikes.

Adam Kapadia

Absolutely horrible dealer. They kept trying to jack up the price on a bike I was looking to buy and the sales manager Alfredo is very unprofessional. He is extremely rude. Do not go there.

Kurt P

Excellent knowledge and staff.

Michael Pina

Very nice and helpful staff. Very knowledgeable about their product

Joe Locke

I bought a 2006 Honda Helix here about 4 years ago. When purchasing I noticed the rear tires were at the replace mark, and ask them if they could put on a new one. After about a month the bike developed a pretty nasty backfire, which I later found is due to damage on the exhaust gasket. Apparently it's common if a mechanic is sloppy when removing the muffler on this bike specifically. Anytime I've ever called and ask questions I am treated like my business does not matter. After having that happen I wouldn't trust their parts department to put air in a motorcycle tire, let alone to do my repairs. I won't be buying here in the future, and reccomend checking the work after any repair. YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED

Chris Sabold

Des Plaines Honda remains the premiere dealer in the midwest. They consistently provide 100% satisfaction for your every need.

Mark Wercheik

Purchased a Honda UTV and had a great experience with the Sales and Service staff at Des Plaines Honda. 100% Customer Satisfaction, highly recommend this company to buy your Honda.

Connor Burdett

Very fast and very friendly. Couldn’t have asked for a better sales and finance team!

Pablo Anaya

Very helpful personal to answer your questions you may have about your motorcycle. Great place to buy your parts.

David Bell

Great store, great staff. I'm a new rider and I felt welcomed right away.

Rose Rizos

I want to say thank you to Jesse and The rest of the Honda shop, I bought my first motorcycle from them. Jesse was very very smart and knew what he was talking about and knew what I needed and guided me to the right bike. I will be back for my bigger bike in spring. Very organized dealership i was very impressed that i also didn't feel pressured. LOVING MY REBEL!! If I could give this more stars I would! lizzeth rose

Joseph Ferrer

Love this place, had a problem with my Goldwing and though it would be super expensive but they found the problem and was something simple. Honest people keeps my sercser going back to them

Jose Colon

Lack of information and transparency make this place untrustworthy

Jeff Pearson

Couldn't have been a better experience. First time buying a motorcycle and this will be the place I continue to do my business for years.

Boyan Tsvetkovski

I recently purchased a 2014 CBR600RR (Brand NEW)! I can say that they are good at negotiating and adding extra packages to support you bike. I had very good time discussing the price of the bike but most importantly now I own it. We reached a concluding deal in a few hours of slow and thoughtful communication. If you would like a dealer that is willing to cut corners to get your riding, please, give them a try. Based on my own experience I would go back there to get a bike again, and again.

Roger Burton

Thanks to Fred who is awesome in Service. Always goes above and behind. "

Binyomin Segal

I've been bringing in my 2004 Honda Spirit for a couple of years, and I am constantly impressed with the service departments personal service. Patient and knowledgable and always willing to explain and help.

christian ortiz

This dealership has some of the most helpful and pleasant people I have ever dealt with. I was shopping around for a CBR650F and went back and forth negotiating a price with them for a bit. I have always been skeptical of salesmen (I've heard horror stories) but after some research and looking around, I found they gave me a very reasonable price. These guys have a lot of integrity and they are very straightforward, honest and they want to help you. My buying experience was as good as it gets. I have no experience with bikes at all, and TC was very patient explaining different accessories and what they do. Jesse was the salesman who did all he could to make sure I would be able to buy the bike I wanted. Bill explained to me more about the pricing, as well as the different fees and what goes into buying a bike. Mike sat down with me to finalize the paperwork and answer more of my questions as well as tell me some interesting stories. The guys at the service department explained how the bike works and what I should expect. They all worked to accommodate to my schedule, and all stayed late to finish my purchase. They are very friendly. They earned my trust, and they focus on making the experience for you, the customer, as good as it gets. I am very grateful to have bought my bike from these guys, and I recommend anyone looking to buy a bike to give them shot.

Tim Convey

Good people here. I went through the whole sales process and pulled out at the last minute and they still treated me with respect and courtesy. Highly recommend doing business with them. If I do decide to buy the bike I will do it from them

Nathan Zhao

Picked up my bike after winter storage today and found out they've taken care of 3 recalls while my bike was being serviced. Nice!

Mike Spence

Jessie from sales (desk manager) is a bad egg and let me tell ya... We were at his shop for many hours after going back in fourth on bike price negotiations. We decided to sleep on the decision for a night. Came back the next day looking to purchase bike after being there for another two hours we finally got the keys for a test drive. Test drove bike was great. Here comes the fun part..... who would have thought! After we test drove (and were there for all that time and negotiations)... Jessie happened to just have "misvalued" our trade in bike trying to weasel us out an extra $1700..... I'm hoping he does not try this on the next customer hence my poor review. The first man we spoke with (Mike I think) was extremely nice patient and professional. Hence earning 2/5 stars.

Casey Colleran

Best Honda motorsport dealership around

Frank N.

Rode out went to Desplaines Honda rode home with the Africa Twin DCT it was Epic Mike who was an excellent personality to deal with made the usual wait of the process of buying like time flys when having fun type of effect and it was a fun experience The place was very well organized and everyone there gave there two sense it was also a learning experience from their feedback Thank you Mike and Des Plained Honda team

Jose Sanchez

Honda dealerships are hard to find these days. But all goods

Wakefullfilms

Very impressed with the effort they used to get me in the door, I do have to say there is a lot of good people working here but walked out paying double what I planned on. I was given gap insurance and wheel and tire for a great price 499$ "EACH" and never asked if I wanted it. But ended up with gap and wheel and tire for a grand total of $1,000 for a bike that was listed new for 2,700$ online. Also my credit was run for a loan amount of 5,100 when the bike I was buying was $,2,700 with $1,000 down. Obviously dealer fees and taxes added on would be around $500-1,000 dollars so that rolled in I should have been around $3,500 but no that's not how it works! When I questioned some paperwork they said don't worry blah blah blah we will fix it sorry. Any way I went ahead and just shrugged it off and signed away knowing I was getting screwed and let my emotion's get to me even though I knew exactly what was happening but felt pressured and did not speak up. I was hopping I was going to have a great experiance buying my first motorcycle but almost regret scheduling an appointment at Des plaines Honda. I hope others read this, and I will definatly buy my next bike somewhere else! Make sure you ask questions from buying from this dealership! Most people seemed great there but you could tell they just wanted your money! Review all you paperwork and ask questions!

Antonio Baltazar

Great staff helping with questions, and showing motorcycles

Phil Boudreau

Quick, easy, and helpful! Buying from DPH was a breeze! Thanks again guys!

K.C. Lange

Always great service. VIP members get a loaner with a scheduled service appointment, can't go wrong with that.

Walt Z

My overall experience with sales, parts, and service has been outstanding. My only product criticisms have been with the fact that Honda only provides ONE remote fob with the bike whereas every other vehicle, that uses fobs, that I have purchased in the last 10 years always came with two – just like they also provided two sets of keys. Also, no tool kit. I understand that the Goldwings sold in Canada have tool kits and spare fobs; what gives with that, Honda (Corporation)?

Rick Gandy

Great service crew, I've never had a issue. Fred (in service) knows his business inside and out. I've been doing business for years and will continue to so!

Polak 997

Love doing business with this Honda Dealership! Great service, amazing staff, special thanks goes to Mr. Gary from the parts department, who is always willing to help me out, very positive person!

Haggs

Parts department guy was very helpful.

Justin Osborne

Very friendly staff.

Tlea Thomas

Customer service is awesome. Very nice clean bikes. Large turn around on bike sales.

If you're looking for your FIRST bike, you can safely skip this dealer - they will not allow you to do a test ride if you're license is less than 1 year and you're not experienced rider. But if you can't buy one, you cannot become more experienced, right? On my comment that they just lost potential cash deal, their response was: "Our shop is used by experienced riders...." Good luck to your business model....

Prices on used inventory was a bit high

I couldn't ask for better service than what has been provided at Des Plaines Honda. With the VIP status I'm in and out with a smile. Special requests are honored and my Yamaha FJR, which I bought used from DPH, is purring like a kitten .... until I twist the throttle!!"

Al Gordon

I had a very pleasant experience here. Did a layaway last year and picked up my Rebel in time for the season. Jay, Mike and Dan all took the time and patience to satisfy me with no pressure. Even the parts people were very kind. I will definitely purchase from them again when I upgrade to another Honda.

Joe J.

Although the accessory inventory is limited, parts manager TC is always willing to help find what you need on line and get it to you ASAP. His knowledge and passion for motorcycles is contagious

The guys over at Des Plaines Honda cannot be thanked enough. Never have I owned or purchased a motorcycle or any vehicle from any dealer... so, I was expecting this to be very intimidating. Let me tell you this; I was completely blown away. I spent many, many hours at the dealer and was treated with nothing but patience & sincere attention on a level that I don’t even get from my personal friends! It was as if the guys here were great personal friends & family. I cannot thank Frank, Mike, or Alfredo enough for being so patient with me and making sure that EVERY single question or concern (a lot of em’) was addressed and that I would leave the shop fully confident in my decision. The process was very comfortable and not "dealer" pushy at all. I met various people & toured the entire dealer throughout my experience there. From the showroom, the parts/accessories section, to seeing MY brand-new bike in the basement-shop area ready to take home was unreal and super fun too! I want to thank everybody there and quickly thank Phil too for taking the time to make sure I was FULLY comfortable with my bike while going over every single feature down in the shop before paperwork was signed. I cannot thank the guys at Des Plaines Honda enough. I cannot wait to be back for another bike someday. I honestly cannot recommend this dealer any stronger!

Je suis français et je fais un road trip au canada et US de 4 mois en Interstate 1200cc I had a problem with the cooling system with my old goldwiñg 1984. Without appointments they looked at my bike, the fixed a part of the problem. The team is professional thanks a lot Erick

I came here to buy my first bike and my experience here went better than I couldve imagined. Everyone was so friendly and inviting. I felt like they actually cared about me as a customer instead of just wanting to sell something to anyone. Mike K was so awesome and he took the time to just sit with me, talk, and answer any questions I had. Frank was also great as I struggled a little bit but he took any step he could to help me out. Buying my first bike here was the best experience I couldve had. Thank you to everyone! :)

Nice people in service and parts department. Helpfull.

I just bought my 4th bike from Des Plaines Honda yesterday and will definitely buy from there again. I never feel pressured when I visit and the process is always fast and easy. They have been around for years, which wouldn't be possible if they didn't have excellent customer service, friendly staff, and good prices. Whenever I go in for accessories they always know me by name. I would definitely recommend using Des Plaines Honda.

Rob S

Great service and sales

Tom Greenhaw

I've gotten all my service done here and they have always done a great job on time and for a reasonable cost.

Meaghan Hansen

I had come in to look and walked out purchasing my first bike! Mike and the rest of the staff were great help to understand and show me the bike. I will continue to go there for all my motorcycle needs! I can't say enough great things about the staff DP Honda.

Alex Villagrana

"No haggling needed , I went in already knowing what I wanted to buy . A 2018 goldwing. Drew say down with me, took care of business and we made the deal. Easy peasy....the way sales are supposed to be. Thanks Drew. Fellow vet. I salute you." Frank in finance was also awesome. Got me Honda's .99% financing. I definitely recommend buying from des plaines Honda motorcycle.

Christian Lopez

Brought my bike in to get a quote for replacing some plastics on my cbr and the service guy SUCKS. He doesn’t want to help at all. Told me he couldn’t give me a written ticket because “it would take time”. Sales floor is very nice and have good customer service though

Michael Koblik

I have serviced my Honda CBR600rr several times at this dealership and I haven't had any issues so far. I mainly deal with Fred from service when I'm there and he is very knowledgeable, friendly and easy to work with. He's willing to recommend different service options and parts. I always walk around the sales floor looking at bikes when I get service done and the guys there are very friendly as well. They're willing to talk bikes although I'm not buying anything. Prices are reasonable for a dealership. I definitely recommend them.

michael mednick

Great overall experience! Having not been on a bike in 15 years and not even stepping foot into a dealership, these guys were all awesome! Great , competitive pricing, extremely knowledgeable , answered all my questions. I found the bike i wanted online and Mike in sales called me the next day. Day of purchase i was lead around to all departments and introduced. I cant say enough how much i liked spending my money at Des Plaines Honda. Parts dept was excellent . Service went over the bike from top to bottom. One of the service guys helped me load my bike onto my versahaul hitch carrier. Which i was nervous as hell doing . Great shop. I plan to upgrade next year to a bigger bike from Des Plaines Honda

rolando pacheco

I can't say much about this place. excellent people and very friendly. On Saturday I went to check out some bikes with the intentions of seeing if I can even get a bike. I have good credit but I have some loans out and i didn't think I was able to get anything. But to my surprise they were able to hook me up and I walked out of there with a brand new 2012 cbr 600 this is my 2 bike I buy from there. If any one is looking to get a bike this is the place to be. Oh and by the way the finance guy he's awesome he will hook you up .

Thank u all crew of Des Planes Honda. Let's talk about story. I want to buy long time a Goldwing but i know wrong shop gonna give me a lot of trouble and cost a lot repair money. Cuz of that i checked out a lot of weeks which dealer is best and they keep their promises and finally i reach Des Planes Honda. So i applied just for get some information about a motorcyle. But next day Mr Terry reach me and he told me he waiting me for meet. Basically that phone conversation had all my questions and his answers. So i told him i will be there. I pick my wife and i went. When i arrive Mr Terry find me out quickly. I ask more questions and i become more comfortable. They did care me expecially i feel i am not first time met those people. Finally they did their all job VERY WELL and they help me get my imagine motorcyle. When i pay, when i put signature and when i left they were all great and they care about me. So i like my motorcyle and i love the price and warrianty. So do not think too much and just walk in and ask everything. They are doing honest business and trying to get long term customers. Good is good bad is bad guys. They are pretty good.

a. "Great experience from my initial call to the completion of the CB and lower light installation on my new 2018 wing. I purchased the bike at a other dealer but heard such good things about the service department I rode the 50 miles to Des Plaines Honda for this work to be done. Very good customer service and great attention to detail The CB and lower lights are working great so pleased with everything I will be back for all future service work. Good job everyone Terence King" a. "Great experience from my initial call to the completion of the CB and lower light installation on my new 2018 wing. Went in there knowing what I wanted. The Des Plaines team worked with me and got me in and out with a brand new Grom within an hour. If thats not service Im not sure what is! Great place and even better staff!

Dan B

Bought a used scooter from the dealership that promptly broke down on the way home. Dealership refused to look at it, recommended another dealership down the street for repairs. Don't buy from here.

stan bailey

"The entire Des Plaines team (from sales to service) has been great to work with as always. Experience has always been great at Des Plaines Honda! Very special Thanks Jeff, John, and Fred!"

Matt Haid

DO NOT BUY FROM THEM. I would rate it 0 if I could. I inquired about them buying my 2018 Honda CB650F which I had purchased one year ago. They told over the phone that they would offer between $5,500-$6,000, but would have to see it first. (The bike is mint with only 1,300 miles). When I got to the store, I waited for over half an hour (they were not busy) and was told that "they were not buying bikes today", but they could offer me $3,000. WHAT A BS MOVE.

Chris Mack

Today I bought a bike from Des Plaines Honda. My salesman was Drew and he was really great to work with. He knows all about the product and was very friendly and helpful throughout the process. Frank finished my purchase in the finance office and he was very quick and pleasant to deal with. He even suggested an agent for motorcycle insurance who ended up saving me quite a bit of money over my own agent which was awesome. If youre looking for a bike I highly recommend them. The sales process is simple and low stress and all of the staff I met including the guys in parts and service who introduced themselves were great guys and fun to work with. The next time Im in the market I will return to them without a doubt.

I have been a DesPlaines Honda customer for a long time and each and every experience I have is ABSOLUTELY AWESOME. My wife and I feel more like family than customers. Everyone, from parts, sales, service, ownership and delivery are wonderful, caring and really are driven to make sure the customer is happy. Jeff you have the absolute best dealership in the country as far as I am concerned.

Andrew

Will likely never deal with this company again. Brought my bike in for routine spring tune-up (fluids, filters, etc) and new battery. They had my bike for a total of 18 days, with me having to call 3-4 times over that span for updates. I got the same bs answer every time that "it was going on the lift that afternoon!". They offered to drop my bike off as a courtesy for the long wait, and then FAILED to even do that on the day they told me. Need to improve communication btwn themselves and their customers.

Anna Larson

Staff were friendly and informative. Lots of stock to choose from. Only negative was that their website was not recently updated so what I was specifically looking for was no longer there. Probably should have called first to double check. Also, massively over inflated initial price offering, which is pretty stereotypical of vehicle dealerships. Overall good experience.

Max Dease

So many parts there so little time to fix your bike

L Gordon

"Fred is always helpful and answers all my questions. Chris was great; my side view mirror needed some adjusting before pulling out of the lot and Chris popped over, grabbed a couple of tools and got everything adjusted and just right... and safe! Thank you!!"

Dejosephine Delgado

Good price range for bike items awesome repair shop fast and friendly

Jerry Nelson

Nice guys over there. Keep in mind that they do want your $. ;)

Samuel Vaughn

Customer service could've been better, I felt the sales person should've still been in training as he quoted me a higher price than what they have advertised. Not good for business .

mike brown

Very welcoming crew at Des Plaines Honda! Quick and responsive to my needs and helped me find spare parts and more for my motorcycle. Very nice display of Honda motorcycles on hand.

Juan Ramos

My girlfriend and I were looking to purchase each a Honda Grom to ride together. We ended up with a blue Grom (me) and a red Monkey (her) which have been absolutely awesome to ride for the past 2 months. The salesman Drew did a fantastic job of making us feel comfortable during the long process that is to buy a motorcycle, let alone 2. He was very informative about the ins and outs of each bike. Having been to another dealer before this one, I can't say the same about their salesman which walked away from us 5 minutes into the conversation. That's his loss. You can tell that Drew cares about his job and cares that his clients leave the dealership feeling better than they did coming in. While signing documents we were sent over to Dan which was a character and kept us entertained throughout the process which also was lengthy in time. Overall, I cannot fault this experience and would buy again from that dealer. Thanks everyone!! Juan

Jacque Sepulveda

I do not write reviews normally. I went in today to purchase my first motorcycle and these guys were completely amazing. I didn’t feel pressured, they were reassuring about everything and took their time to make sure I understood everything about the bike. This shop was a drive for me to get to but it was well worth it. Frank, Mike, Doug and all the other guys there, thank you.

Lukas Simaitis

Wanted to sit on one of the models and see if it fits me good ergonomically . I walk in to the store spot my bike and walk to it . There's a salesman (very short hair and glasses) standing at the high boy table by himself . I ask can I sit on it , he says ok . I notice that the seat is in low position and ask him if he can raise it , he looks very confused so I explain and he calls the tech and he raises the seat for me . While I'm checking out the bike he asks how do I purchase vehicles and do I finance them . Then he asks me if I want to take a test ride - I say sure . So he grabs my driver's license and comes back with the waiver for me to sign and returns my driver's license . He tells me : I wonder how we going to arrange the delivery . I ask : what delivery ? He says delivery of the bike . Now I'm real confused and ask what does he mean ? He says , "you buying the bike right" . I said I never told you I'm buying the bike how did you assumed it ? He tells me I'm a salesman this is what I do , let's proceed with paperwork . At this point I got really upset . What kind of BS sales tactics are these . Offer a test ride just to get your driver's license and then say let's proceed with paperwork when all I wanted is to sit on a bike and never not once mentioned that I want to purchase it ?!?!? Who hired this clown and who trained him ??? Needless to say that after such an experience I will never step my foot in to Des Plaines Honda again . Used to be brand loyal ... not after this experience .

Bruce Beal

We came in looking to buy a particular Honda model. We we educated on all we needed to know about that model. There was no pushy sales talk and no aggressive attempt to up-sell us. Four hours later, our new bike was in the garage, plates, title and all. Great job! Thanks!

Dimitar Stoykov

Unfortunately I bought 3 bikes from there for the last 2 years, but I regret now because when I got my last one the customer service was awful. First they tricked me with my pipe on my trade in and second as a regular customer they offered me 26% loan (my score is 700+) !!! And I had to pay the bike cash. Terrible!!! My name is Dimitar and I would never ever buy anything from this dealership. Not recommended!!!

zac sima

Just went in to check out a used 2012 zx1000. The desk manager Jesse was more than friendly and walked me out to it, as well as explained all of the modifications done to it and compared it to the stock model. He was very friendly and did not try to force a sale, which is something I, as a customer, can't stand. I ended up not purchasing the bike, but Jesse gave me a lot of insight on this type of bike, as he owns a similar older model. Overall probably the best experience I've had in any type of dealership, very friendly environment.

brad ton

Amazing service and great people to do bussiness with. Very glad to have chosen to shop here for a motorcycle. All employees were knowledgable and helpful with any questions. Would definetly buy from them again. Drew, Frank, and Alfredo were great to work with.

Jose Chavez

Not sure if I dig the atmosphere

Bea Zak

The staff here is exceptional with regard to customer service. They were a whole lot of fun, very informative and felt they give great advice about bikes. See Terry if you’re looking for your next Honda.

Xhehnan Rejani

Man this place was cool. Great prices. Great group of people. I enjoyed my experience. Definitely would shop here again.

collegeboy1891 .

This is my first time going to them for maintenance as I just brought my bike up here from GA. My bike should have been done at about the 4 week mark. It's been almost 6 now and every time I call I get a different story about what's going on. Going to be looking to take my bike elsewhere from now on.

Thunder Cheeks

Very helpful staff, and a good variety of products.

A. Cotton

"I had an issue of my 07 Honda 750 cc not starting. I called several motorcycle shops and the wait to diagnose & repair time that was related to was SOMETHING CRAZY! Like 3 1/2 weeks. Desplaines Honda came through with a week and half turn around. These guys are AWESOME! KUDOS TO THEM! You all are the best."

Robert Wild

I had a great experience at Honda, everyone was friendly. Jesse was very informative and patient, I will be back to buy a bike from him soon.

Frank Varga

Fantastic repair shop. No pressure and they don't try to sell you on things you don't need.

Nereida Soto

They are very very helpful and nice people there, I recommend everyone to go there and everything that they have are good quality. The personnel's the employee's. Thank you to the Des Plaines Honda and also there is no discrimination there and as soon as we walk in they welcome us as family, that's what I like about the company. Thank you again Des Plaines Honda.

Timothy Tremaine

Inviting, courteous and professional

Svilen Gadzhov

The only reason is 1 star I because there is no less stars. Sales person was not knoligable for his inventory and basically do not want to sell me a motorcycle

Lorelei Heric

Ive been coming to DP Honda since I bought my bike new in 2012. Fred in service has been awesome to work with and is more than fair and appreciates loyalty. Ive been to several other service facilities with my other bike, none compare to the service I get here!!! I will continue to come here for as long as I can ride."

R Walls

Knowledgeable sales people

John Zientara

I had the best experience with every department (sales, parts, finance, and service). I bought 3 bikes from DesPlaines Honda. I purchased the extended service agreement $1700 /4 years/ unlimited miles for the new 2006 Shadow Spirit1100. They told me if you plan to do alot of riding and rack up the mileage, I'd come out on top and boy did I ever. After 54,737 miles, the only fix I ever needed was a speedometer cable and DesPlaines replaced it under warranty, no charge and I was out in 30 minutes. That fact demonstrates the rock solid reliability of the Shadow and the customer satisfaction I experienced. Service dept. also installed lots of aftermarket accessories. True professionals in my opinion.

Peter Aiura

Really friendly staff. Parts, sales, and service departments are all excellent! :)

Jossue Enamorado

"Drew was awesome from the start, he approached with a non pushy attitude and was honest about everything from the start I am a happy customer and it shows since this is my second motorcycle I buy from this dealership."

kasey bawden

Needs more sales people.

Rick Shaw

I dropped my bike and broke my custom grips. I reordered and they came in quicker than expected. At the same time my new windshield arrived in the mail. I asked to have the service dept to install both. When they discovered that the windshield install would be more difficult and costly than originally thought, they called me and gave me the choice. It wasn't in my budget but I was happy to get a call rather than get a bill for more than I was ready to pay.

Elmer Jovel

Easy to find and the staff at the parts counter are very helpful. Their showroom has a wide selection too.

john oconnor

Have always been extremely helpful. If they didn't have the parts that I needed, they found someone who did"

Ron Kutschke

They always have what I need or know where to get it.
