I'm new to the city and was having some difficulty finding a quality auto repair shop that I could trust. My car nearly died on me recently and this team was able to resurrect it in a very short period of time. This was a huge relief for me. The team managed to keep me updated regularly by giving me phone calls each day and spending plenty of time on the phone with me answering each of my questions in detail. I truly felt like I was in great hands and they built the trust factor and earned my business for years to come due to their dedication to quality service, transparency, fair pricing, and customer service before, during and after the work was done. I would heavily recommend to a friend. This team does things the right way!

DO NOT BOTHER! Save yourself the trouble and go elsewhere. I read the reviews and gave them the benefit of the doubt. Needed tire service and called ahead - they said they could handle it, just have car towed over. We did that and then stopped by, they said they did not have the part there but would handle it the next morning and call us. At 11am, we called. NO ONE was handling it. The person we spoke to on Sunday, and who was going to handle it - wasnt even in. It was his dayoff. They now said that we needed to contact the dealer to get the part because if they had to it would cost more. I got the car towed out of there immediately and had the dealer fix it. Glad I did. IT was quick and professional. Oh and they did for free, what Pep boys wanted to charge me at least $35 per tire!!! If you need a part and you're going to do the work yourself, then go in if you like but if you need work done on your vehicle. Drive on by...Kaufman and Firestone and NTB are right down the street.

Frankly after my experience today it's hard to believe Pep Boys in Brookhaven ever received a 1 Star review. I set an appointment for 1pm to get a headlight changed. They replaced the headlight for free and I was out of there in 10 minutes. Best experience I have had at a car shop and will be returning to Pep Boys.

My 08 Lexus LS460 would not start and I knew it was an old battery issue. I basically had one chance to jump off the battery, and take it straight to a shop to get help. Since I live close by I took it to this Pep Boys, and it was 7pm (when they close). Without hesitation they offered to do a diagnostic check on my battery, and once they did they clearly explained why my battery needed replacing. Since I already knew that was probably the issue, I knew they were being truthful. They quickly replaced my battery, and were incredibly nice to stay late for me. 100% recommend these guys and I'm glad to find a shop like this so close by.

Great people! I ran by there to get a brake light that had gone out and got me pulled over twice in less than a day. I really had no clue what I was doing. I honestly thought- "Great, this is going to be some part they are going to have to order that will cost a lot." Less than 5 minutes later the guy said- you are ready. I went in to pay and... the lady at the register said- "Don't worry about it" -I couldn't believe it. I will be back at this place for any work that my car needs! That's above and beyond- and it is appreciated!

Terrible service. Took my car in at 8 on a sat morning due to engine light.. was told by "Garrett" that my car would be looked at next and he would call me. Hadn't heard anything by 11, called him.. was told by Garrett that my car was going up next, again... showed up at 1 as I had not received a phone call yet.. My car had not moved in the parking lot from when I left it.. Was told it was going up next.. Told them forget it.. Will now tell all pep boys forget it.. Horrible service.. absolutely ridiculous.. Do not take your vehicle here if you expect good service.. Over priced as well.. Nice job, jerks.. 1 less customer, AND will go out of my way to now give pep boys a bad name.

Took my car ('02 Honda Civic) when an engine light was on. They ended up replacing the thermostat with an after market part. Came back less than a month later when the light came on for the same problem - engine light with thermostat code. They ended up replacing the thermostat for free since the labor was under the warranty I apparently paid $35 for without realizing it. When the engine light came on AGAIN 3 days later, they suggested I would need to replace the computer... for around $1500. It ended up taking it to my home town mechanic over an hour away for a second opinion. He wouldn't touch it and was SHOCKED Pep Boys would even suggest that they could replace the computer. After his suggestion, I took it to the dealer, where for a mere $150 (not the $1500 that Pep Boys quoted to replace the whole system) they were able to do a software update. They did warn, if the engine came on again they would need to replace the after market thermostat (again, the one Pep Boys installed twice) with a dealer part, but the computer is in working order. This leads to today, less than two months after my first visit to Pep Boys, where I am back at the dealer having to replace the after market thermostat. Congratulations Pep Boys. In spite of the fact that I live across the street from you, I will now be a lifetime customer of the dealer where I have gotten nothing except great service and competitive prices.

Quick fast drop off. But the pick up was horrible Danny was very rude. My car was parked ready but I had too wait 35 min to wait for paper work service is very unprofessional. Maybe it was because I was black everyone who came in during my time he had the best attitude and smiled but customer service here is whack go to Kaufman right down the street friendliest people on earth. I will never be returning.

We get our company vehicles serviced at pep boys, they are usually slow, but we have an account there, today at this pep boys , the service person opened my door and said i done told the other person we dont do diesels here, your blocking my driveway , get off our property,...maybe you need change the name from pep boys to rude people, i cant speak for my company? This is a very belated review but I had to remind myself to leave one. On Labor Day, the tire pressure warning on my car turned on as I headed out that day. Most places were either closed and I didn’t want to just stop at an air pump that requires change that I don’t have nor let me know if I have a more serious problem. Luckily, Pep Boys was on my route and close by. The person on duty was very courteous and jovial, rare when people have to work on a holiday. He immediately checked my tire pressure, filled up any tire that was low, and even tried to see if there’s any object stuck in any of them. The entire time, he was extremely nice, funny, and informative. On top of it all, this service was free.

I have a 20 year old Lexus that I love. Recently the cup holder broke and I bought a new part on eBay. I tried to put it in myself but could not. I took it to pepboys to help and Danny the Store Manager took it as a personal challenge to get my cupholder reinstalled and in perfect working condition. It ended up that we had to remove the entire center console. I was really glad that I brought it in and really glad he just helped me. If I could rate my experience higher than 5 stars I would. Most amazing experience I've ever had at a car shop. I got there at 5:15 pm and needed my tire patched. They did it on the spot right away, despite being busy, AND didn't charge me for it. They were so professional, nice and friendly. My car needed new tires. The shop manager Daniel explained exactly what would be done, what was needed and quoted the time needed for completion and total price. After completing the work he took the time to explain the wear pattern came from my suspension. He offered solutions and estimates. My work was done on time and exactly as quoted. Great service on a short timeline. (New Battery) On the way home from a road trip, I called ahead in need of a new battery. They informed me of available batteries and helped me compare options over the phone. The manager (Dana?) was very helpful with purchasing online ahead of time (20% discount). I called this location today around 5:40pm addressing my concern about my vehicle. Lia listened and took the time to assist me and then invited me in to see if they could help me. When I arrived at approximately 6pm I met Lia then I was immediately introduced to Beau who literally handled my problem right away. It was about an hour before closing and Beau fixed my issue within 15min!! Wow talk about efficiency and customer service!! I know every experience won’t be this smooth but it made me feel really good that they treated me with respect and was able to assist me right away! The guys at this location work well together. They deliver your vehicle back when they say they will, too. This Pep Boys is better managed than the one on JCB, for sure. I took my truck in for an oil change, they matched a competitor's coupon price, and did such a good job, that I made an appointment to bring it back in a few days to get the tires rotated and balanced. I am very pleased with the staff here. I will be back!

First time I went here they put the wrong tires on my car. The second time I drove my car in, but when I went to pick it up the car was stuck in neutral. The key was stuck in the ignition.( because they ran the battery dead yet could not even diagnose this simple issue) After being told the issues were my fault I took the car to a real mechanic who said whatever they had done had caused the car to be stuck in neutral. They are not competent. DO NOT TAKE YOUR CAR HERE. I will never take mine there again.

Initially I was hesitant to go to Pep Boys because I've heard so many negative things over the years about them. Tonight I must admit that I'm glad that I chose the location that Lia and her team were working in. Not only did they explain everything that was going on with my car and what it would cost to get it running again, the manager even called a Lyft for me (free of charge) and I was able to get to the office and work (after a day full of unfortunates with my tires). Choose the Peachtree Rd location if you're not sure where to go.

Went there today for an oil change and an air conditioner fix, which I thought I needed. I won't go into my stupidity, but Raj Singh and the other mechanic told me what my problem was...me. I know a less reputable place would have told me I needed the work Raj initially thought necessary, costing me a few hundred bucks. Instead, I paid for the oil change only. I'm more than impressed about his integrity and I would highly recommend them. Thanks again Raj, the other mechanic and the very sweet young lady at the reception counter. This review is WAY over due (sorry Daniel!) Several weeks ago I brought my car in on a busy Friday morning freaking out because my breaks were not working. (Scary, right!?) Without an appointment and without hesitation Daniel immediately took my car for a test drive and deemed it unsafe to drive. Brakes/brake pads were fine. Made an appointment with Ricardo for a tire rotation and balance for 11:00am today. Ricardo called me this morning to tell me I could come in earlier. I did, and was in and out in about 30 minutes.

My daughter took her Honda CRV in for oil change and tire rotation. After waiting two hours, she called to check on status and learned only then it was done. When we arrived to pick up the vehicle, learned that they had not done or written up the tire rotation. That should be SOP but they acted clueless and hardly cared - said if we would wait longer they would do the work they should have done to begin with!

Went there for an oil change, always ask for cost. Thought I was getting standard synthetic but got Premium instead. A 75 dollar oil change was not what I was expecting but realized that was my mistake for not confirming costs first. I typically try to do the majority of repairs myself because I don't trust any repair shops. Until now that is. My son's car had a leak in the rear brakes, and with the weather being hot and not having the time, I had him drop it off at this location given all of the positive reviews. They called me shortly after saying that the car was ready and I didn't owe anything. They found that the bleeder valve was loose, so they tightened it and tested. If they would have said that it needed a new cylinder I would have believed them and it could have been about $300 for the repair. Being honest and fair will win my business every time. I won't hesitate to bring any of my cars here in the future. Keep up the honesty and your customers will keep up the good reviews. Thank you!!!

I’ve been to this pep boys twice in the past week - once to get an oil change and once to get a leak in my tire patched. Both times I’ve been greeted with exceptional customer service. The people who work here are extremely friendly and made coming to get work done on my car a great experience. When i got my oil changed, i did not even have to ask to use the coupon i had found online, the guy ringing me up automatically said he was going to use it which i thought was nice. He was looking out for me to get the lowest price. In addition, i had gone to two other places before this to try to get my oil changed and at both other places men made creepy comments to me, and it made me uncomfortable. This did not happen at Pep Boys. My oil change took about 45 mins. Next, i came to get my tire looked at and i am not exaggerating when i say that they came outside to look at my tire the minute i got there. No waiting. Then it took maybe 5-10 minutes for them to patch it up for FREE. Where other places I’m sure charge you at least $20. I think that’s a great business model to keep customers and it is sure to earn my business in the future

I completely recommend this location! Super accomodating and friendly. I must have called them 10+ times with questions and check ins. Everytime they gave me the answers I needed and peace of mind. I was told to order the tire I wanted online since none of the shops around me had it in stock (tire I needed was very specific). Once that was delivered to Pep Boys, they installed it and had it balanced. Had all the wheels checked and balanced and all done in under an hour. You guys are awesome! Big thanks to Beau and Danny.

Absolutely DO NOT take your car here unless you want to leave with it in worse shape than before you took it in. I went to get my car looked at and they couldn't even figure out what was wrong with it. In addition, my antenna was completely destroyed and hanging on by a string when I exited. When I called to complain they informed me that there was no proof it happened when I was there. I asked to look at the cameras and they stated that they had none where my car was (my car was parked in front of their shop in the parking lot and also taken into the service center). Use their service at your own risk.

While drive in Atlanta, I hit a pothole and my front passenger tire completely disintegrated. After putting on a donut I got to pep boys about 20 minutes before closing. I bought 2 new tires and got 2 free. They installed the tires, aligned my wheels and changed my oil for a very reasonable price. The Brookhaven Pep Boys is AMAZING!! Danny, Beau, Lia and the rest of the team are outstanding! They listen, diagnose, and offer the best possible solution(s). They DO NOT try to gouge you on prices. As someone who has worked in customer service for 15 years, this is greatly appreciated. The customer service and work at this store is exceptional. My father always told me to take my vehicle to the service department where it was purchased, to build and cultivate a relationship with the service team. It would seem that does not work in Atlanta, at least not where I purchased my car. The dealer changed the oil and over-tightened the plug. When I went in for an oil change at Pep Boys, because it was closer than the dealer and they were great when I bought new tires, I was informed that the oil pan was cracked and leaking oil! I called the dealer from Pep Boys and they were willing to fix the error, but they wanted me to drive my car in, while leaking oil! Danny spoke to the dealers representative and told him he could not and would not advise me to drive my vehicle from Brookhaven to Alpharetta while leaking oil. My horn stopped working and the dealer said a relay needed to be replaced and it was on national back order ($$$). Beau checked and it was a fuse ($). In short, after a long story, the Brookhaven Pep Boys is where I will be going for all of my vehicle repairs.

I got to their store at 6:45- right before they closed - and they immediately said they would help. I worked with Danny and Beau and they could not have been nicer. Horrible place. You go in for a tire plug, they slash your tire on a ramp and try to throw any old rubber on and then scratch the crap out of your car while doing their work. They deny it, but then refuse to show you the footage of them working on your car when you ask. Then you ask for management and even though he is there... his response is I start my vacation today so I will not come out to explain why my shop is incapable of repairing a tire without destroying a customer car. Greg Jean Loius in particular is someone I would recommend keeping your car away from. Also, a special shout out to Raj singh for leaving your counter guy hung out to dry. Usually a manager handles situations instead of hiding in the back. Awesome job at nothing!

The screws were rusty and stripped so it was impossible to remove it alone. I had two of their employees work on it using different tools and techniques until it was finally removed. I stopped by to get my tire pressure checked at 7 :30 am and I was told I would have leave my car their for them to do it, which takes all of 90 secs, no. I’m leaving my car with you unethical clowns who tried to convince me after selling me an overpriced car battery I needed a new alternator, and a year later the damn thing is fine. Amazing service - their computer messed up and accidentally deleted my appointment. Despite this, they still did their best to fit me in for a headlight replacement even though they were booked solid, and didn't even charge me for the service since I brought my own replacement bulb. Got the job done, but all I needed was a new tire I already had mounted on the wheel and put on. They did that, but the air in the tire was too high & they could have at least filled up the other three tires as a courtesy when I’m paying $30 to put one tire on. Also, they can’t reset tire pressure monitoring systems for 2018 and newer vehicles so if you have a new car you don’t want to come here for tires!

UPDATE Although it was hard to make contact initially. The management at Pep Boys was very polite and acted in good faith to correct my problem. The regional manager was involved and the local Manager Ricardo both assisted. Ricardo (after reviewing the documents I provided) immediately offered to remedied the situation. If you're having a problem, stay patient and get in contact with the right people. They acted honorably in my case. After speaking with the local Manager and also the regional manager, they were helpful and agreed to workout a resolution with me. Both were very helpful once I got into contact with them. The Howell Road location installed the wrong battery in my car, cost me 450.00 at Jim Ellis Hyundai because of the damages they caused. Elizabeth was nice and helpful but I WOULD NEVER TRUST PEP BOYS AGAIN. NEVER!!!!

I had my car towed in on a Tuesday and asked them to replace the alternator. I was told that they would to a thorough diagnostic and see if is indeed the alternator. I received a call on Thursday evening saying that it's the battery. The existing battery was purchased less than a month ago, but I gave them the benefit of the doubt. I didn't hear from them again until 6:00pm on Friday. They said the new battery was good & my car is ready, but there was about $500 in safety concerns (brakes, rotors, & shocks). I told them that I would pick up my car and have those itemstaken care of later. I was barely able to get my home before the battery died again. I had it towed to another mechanic who replaced my alternator in less than an hour. Do not go to this location for any major repair work. They only want to sell you tires, change oil, and breaks. So frustrating...

A rare instance of trustworthy mechanics. They are honest, accountable and prompt. Conveniently for people who work extended hours like myself, they are open 7am - 7pm weekdays and are also open on the weekend. Had 3 recent great experiences, incl. - 1.) Made appt to have my tires replaced. I got a call that they didn't have the tire I ordered in stock, but they upgraded me to a superior, more expensive tire for the same price. 2.) I took my car in to have my brakes checked because they rumbled when I depressed them even slightly at high speed. They took my car out for a test drive to replicate the problem and determined it was just a peculiarity of the regenerative brakes on my hybrid car. They returned my car back to me at no cost. Having paid for pads, rotors and calipers before in my younger days when only the pads needed to be replaced using another, less scrupulous major chain really made me appreciate their honesty and integrity. 3.) The front passenger fender (wheel well) liner of my car fell out of my car. Expecting this bodywork fix to be pricey, I ordered the part online and asked them to install it. Not every place would be willing to meet the passenger in the middle on something like this, but they were game. It turns out the holes for the fasteners on the part I bought didn't meet precisely with the panels on my car. They showed me the issue and did the best they could to affix it to my car. I later got a replacement part with guaranteed fitment which they installed for free despite the fact they were not at fault for the original installation going awry. I want to thank Raj, Angelo and Meaghan in particular for their help.

After inspecting my current tires more closely we discovered a dangerous issue that had been cause by the mis-alignment done at the last shop I went to for a repair. Danny the manager helped me and to find the tires I needed for my Jeep in a day and also helped me with a great promotion that they were running which made their over all price the best around - even when compared to the online tire sites. The team even provided a Lyft driver for me so I didn’t need to find a ride. The entire team was helpful and courteous I would highly recommend.

Dropped off vehicle for mount and balance of two tires and an alignment service at 1:30. Was told it'd be completed by 5 (there was a wait to get to the vehicle). Walked back home. Came back at 5. They didn't even get to the vehicle. I told them not to do the alignment for the sake of time, was told my car is next, went to willys, got a call half hour later it wouldn't be done tonight because a technician had to leave on an emergency. I understand all that, but give me a freaking courtesy call. Took it to Kaufmann tires and they started on it immediately. JUST TAKE YOUR CAR TO KAUFMANN TIRES. Save yourself the trouble of dealing with these guys.

These guys are classy! They turned a fiasco into a positive experience. I had a mystery car problem having to do sensors and emissions. The guys here tried everything they could think of to fix it, but in the end they just couldn't help me. Instead of leading me on, they told me what to say to the dealership and turned an increasingly stressful experience into a positive one. Horrible place! Do not go here!! They tried to trick me into getting $2000 worth of maintenance which I didn't need at all. I dropped my car off about a week ago to get the suspension looked at and a tune-up. 24 hours later, they finally called back and said all 4 struts needed to be replaced for $1600 and that two radiators hoses needed to be replaced for $400 because they were "ballooning". This sounded really expensive to me so I took it to another mechanic who after looking at my car for 3 hours, said the struts were perfectly fine and that my radiator hoses were in great condition. I was then showed the hoses myself and they were in pristine condition. This other mechanic also said that if I still wanted new struts, they would be $500-$1000. So not only did Pepboys literally make up bogus info about what my car needed, they were massively upselling the price.

I have had numerous services done at this Pep Boys location and have had nothing but an amazing experience. Although I often visit Pep Boys for routine oil changes, I've also taken both a Toyota Carolla and Infiniti there for some major service work. My Carolla was leaking oil pretty badly and both the manager, Jose, and Paul, explained (in detail) what was causing the leak. I also had my Infiniti towed there after it had overheated. The next day I got a phone call about what was wrong; essentially I needed a new radiator coil. When I went in to pick up the car, they showed me the defective coil and explained why it needed to be repaired. I got a brief auto lesson and had every question thoroughly answered. Because the repair was pretty costly, they gave me a 10% off coupon which helped reduce the cost. Simply put: I highly recommend this place. The mechanics are always friendly and honest, and Jose goes out of his way to provide amazing customer service. Not knowing very much about cars, I appreciate that I can go to this Pep Boys and not have to worry about dishonest mechanics or repairs I don't need. Five stars.

I am only writing this because this is the second time I've had my car serviced at this location and it is the second time I had to remind them that they forgot to rotate my tires. Both times my oil change and tire rotation took over an hour and a half. They were not busy and I myself was a mechanic doing the same type of work two years ago and it should take 30-45 minutes MAX to change the oil and rotate tires.

This Pep Boys was willing and capable to fix a problem that two other locations (Hazlet and Oakhurst) failed to do properly. I purchased tires from Tire Rack, and Pep Boys was listed as a willing installer on the Tire Rack website. Both Oakhurst and Hazlet failed to apply wheel weights to a 1990 Mercedes 300E correctly. In April, I had the tires mounted and balanced at Oakhurst. A week or so later, I noticed a wheel weight had fallen off in my driveway. Under warranty, I drove to Hazlet. They were happy to honor the warranty claim (within 90 days of the original service). Unfortunately, the wheel weights came off again. Eatontown, especially the service manager Raj, was extremely helpful in remedying my problems with incorrect wheel weights. The wheel balance has been corrected. Kudos to this Pep Boys branch for carrying the weight of the other sub-par locations. Even if this location is out of the way, go to this one, Eatontown, right by where Fort Monmouth used to be. You won't regret it. Thanks again, Raj.

I love this Pep Boys and have been coming here for 4+ years, and for several cars including a Toyota and a Chevy. Very personable service. A couple examples: My son had one snafu where they gave him synthetic oil instead of regular (although that was my son's fault for not making sure they identified the model of his car correctly) - and they compensated us for that. Once, my wife had a problem with the brakes after some work and they covered the additional work on that at no cost. Overall the quality of the work is very good and you can trust the advice of the mechanics. Staff here go out of their way to help you find discounts / savings.

An oasis for auto repairs: = patient and honest manager of the store, Raj = have had excellent diagnostic and repair experience with Jason, one of the skilled mechanics = watch for email promos and coupons and reward points.....all of which help to suppress the end number of your repair bill Hey, no repair place can make the pain of fixing any car go away, but Raj's Eatontown Pep Boys location minimizes the discomfort.

30 minute wait turns into 2 hours even though I arrived early for “appointment” and nothing extra was needed or completed other than a single tire change (and didn’t bother putting the cover back over the spare and left it in the backseat.) Would not recommend this to an enemy. Edit: As of Friday, 5/25, I have yet to be contacted by anyone even though I received an email on Monday 5/21 at 744a stating I would be contacted within 24-48 hours. I called in today around 445pm to follow up. The rep tried telling me it normally takes 24 business hours, which would have been by end of business Wednesday or Thursday. Still no resolution and I await yet another call that will not come I’m sure.

Took my brand new car in to plug a slow leak in a tire, they somehow drove it into the ramp slashing a good tire. 15 minute service and 3 hours later they couldnt get a replacement. They also scratched up the fender the slashed tire was on then claimed it was not them would review the tapes, then would not let us see the tapes. Obviously it did not exonerate them. I know the condition of my car when I trusted it to them. We found the cost of a tire and they did eventually reimburse that but noe we have to waste time finding a tire and getting it installed, we lost most of a vacation day, we are not better off. We have to get the front fender repainted shame on you pep boys. The winshield is also cracked we did have a stone chip but the impact of their accident in our car had it spread side to side before we could get it sealed. The chip happened on the way to the dealership. No management available to resolve, poor desk clerk. Manager was apparently on vacation but sitting in the back. Spoke to district manager on phone. Worst experience ever if there was a minus category you would get it

They were so committed to our safety and satisfaction that their top mechanic from Philadelphia drove in at 7-am with a commitment to not leave until our issue was resolved. Best place in the long branch area for tires, period. The staff is friendly and helpfull, got a full set of tires 2 months ago, immediately got a screw in my tire less then a week later, no arguments or scoffing, they just fixed it no problems (road hazard warranty) . 2 weeks ago, another tire had a nail in it, they fixed it no problems. I used to go to firestone and had problems everytime, always an argument with them resulting in sub par service, and they always overfilled the tires with air.. Pep boys eatontown always filled them correctly to spec of the vehicle... like i said, best place... period. Dont bother going anywhere else.
