My present car is 17 years old and I always bring it in before I go on a long trip - I have never had any problems when I have gone on such a trip after they have checked the car over and handled any repairs that were necessary. I’d like to note that the shop is the cleanest automobile shop I have ever seen. I consider myself very fortunate to have found this business and I hope that they will be in business for a long time - or at least while I am still driving!

My brother recommended this shop to me, as he's close friends with one of the mechanics... so of course, for me, that equates to instant trust. Now, that said, I called on Monday and Jeremy was able to fit me in on Tuesday (fast!). Not only was everyone who came into the friendly, but, they were also consultative (versus pushy) once they determined what the problems are with my car - which I appreciated. I didn't feel like I was being up-sold, or taken advantage of, or talked down to - just really friendly, knowledge-able service. Further, they have steady wi-fi, and I really appreciated that I could work from the shop while I waited.

Brought my 2008 Acura TL in for some known service issues. Nick was able to breakdown each of the service issues and was able to save me money on certain tasks. After spending a substantial amount of money the car was ready and covered for another 2 yrs 24K. Two weeks later I had another leak that was not related to the prior fixes...Nick and the team at Alan Cox repaired the new leak at no charge! Great service! And great relief to me! I have been going to Alan Cox for about 5-6 years, I cannot remember how long. Know that I am a skeptic and it took me a while (2 years) of oil changes, tire rotations and other services, to trust Alan Cox Automotive with my car and van. You should have seen the look on the faces of the staff when I interviewed them, face-to-face, as to why I should bring my Honda's to them. They were surprised anyone would ask, especially the Mechanics, but they entertained my questions, with a bit of hesitancy or stage-fright, not sure which. I liked their answers and now they service all of my Honda vehicles. Nick, at the front desk, has a great sense of humor and loves to talk to Customers. Jonathan is quite entertaining and enjoyable to speak with. I have met the staff at some point in the time i have been with Alan Cox, and all of them are appreciative for the business I bring, and they thank me for coming by, even for a simple oil change. I have invested in my vehicles and I have invested in Alan Cox Automotive, they are my go-to people for all my Honda needs. I don't trust people, that is part of my job, but I can say that I have Trust that Alan Cox Automotive will do me right, they have for many years and ALWAYS ALWAYS ALWAYS take the time I need to understand and see what I need to have worked on with my family vehicles. Alan Cox Automotive is up front about the services they provide, the charges associated with those services, and the reasoning behind why your vehicle would benefit from those services. Additionally, they aren't pushy about performing services that you aren't interested. For example, last time I came into the shop it was for an engine light that indicated an emissions error. I was told that this was most likely the gas cap but we wouldn't know for sure unless a smoke test was performed. I opted out of the smoke test, because I was confident that the gas cap was the issue, and was provided a top quality manufacturer's part to replace the defective one. It's been over a week and no light. They might not be the least expensive auto mechanics in town, but you definitely get what you pay for.

I was referred to Alan Cox Automotive through a family friend a couple years ago and had always trusted them. A few days ago my car broke down and I had it towed to them, i had them run diagnostics on it( and paid a 100 dollar fee) and they told me I had low compression on cylinder 2 and needed spark plugs and that I had 2 options 1. Have an internal engine cleaning and oil change done along with new spark plugs although it was not a guaranteed fix or 2. Replace the engine. Because that didn't sit well with me... I had it towed to the Honda auto shop the next day directly from alan cox automotive. Honda called me back and told me it was my fuel pump and spark plugs, fixed it and now it's running perfectly. They ran a compression test and I have paperwork stating the system was normal. To say I'm disappointed would be an understatement. I honestly feel that they tried to take advantage of me because I am a woman and they thought they would get as much money from me as they could. Please be aware that if something doesnt make sense to you it might be worth trusting your instincts and having a second opinion. As a side note- I've always regularly maintained my vehicle. Have never had smoke, low oil, oil leaks or anything indicating I would need a new engine. What they said would be happening as a result of the problems they diagnosed was not happening to my vehicle.

Alan Cox has great customer service: Their automotive technicians are approachable and, besides a standard service write-up, are willing to show you what they see on your car (that you may not) in the service bay. Their staff is consistent, most of the employees at Alan Cox have probably been with the company as long as I have been bringing them my cars. Probably most important, my wife is comfortable at Alan Cox. I brought my car here less than a month ago for a brake job. I received a price quote from the dealership and Alan Cox was much cheaper. The company I work for does daily business with Alan Cox so I trusted that they would do a good job. The very next day I started to hear noise while in reverse. I brought my car back to them two days later and told them about the noise. They claim they were unable to duplicate the noise. Now I have to take my car to the dealership to have the professionals fix it. Which is what I should have done in the first place. The noise is louder now and I will finally bring it to the dealership this Saturday. Also, they told me they would give me a discount, because the company I work for has a direct relationship with them. Did I see that discount? No I did not. My credit card was charged for the FULL amount. You would think they would have done their best to properly fix my car. Then, they had the audacity to send me a customer satisfaction survey. I will NEVER refer a single soul to this company ever again. I won't even refer my pet turtle. I don't care what relationship my company has with them. Very unhappy customer!

About a year ago, a friend of mine recommended Alan Cox to me, as I needed a supercharger installed on my '03 S2000, advised I ask for Jeremy. From day one, all I can say is the service they give is unmatched. Jeremy's attention to detail has continually amazed me, and continues to do so. NO one else will ever touch my car other than Alan Cox, from minor repairs like oil changed to the big things like my supercharger. Give Nick a shout , set up an appointment, and you will be amazed as I was the first day I sat foot in the door!

Not only did Alan Cox Auto fix the issue expediently, but they also found my power steering pump failing and fixed that as well. Before any repairs were done Nick talked me through the issues they found and gave me accurate quotes for the cost to repair each. My car runs better now than it did when I bought it in 2016.

WWWWay Overpriced. Charged me almost $200 for less than 1 hour labor to tell my they closed my broken sunroof that was stuck open and if I wanted it repaired it would about $2,000. This is on a 2010 Ford F150 mind you. I decided to leave, pay the bill and just live with a broken but closed sunroof. Now about 3 weeks later the sunroof has dropped and is no longer water tight. Waste of $200.
