I found them to be very deceptive and not easy to deal with. You have to be on your guard with them. I bought a set of winter tires there. Salesman was helpful, tires have been good. Bought on the promises of free changeovers - which turn out to be NOT free; they don't tell you the fine print. Don't let "free front wheel alignments" fool you either - if you have a front-wheel drive or an all-wheel drive vehicle, you really need a 4-wheel alignment, which TFT WILL push on you, and for which they will charge you IN FULL regardless of you buying your tires there. Your "free" changeover ends up costing you around $100. On top of that, I called to make an appointment for changing the tires, only to be told that due to high volume they're not taking appointments. You have to either leave your car there all day and wait to be called when it's done (not an option for me), or walk in and hope they get to you some time while you're there. I've NEVER been told this by ANY automotive service business in 34 years of driving.

When doing a front wheel alignment you have 3 things to adjust. Caster, camber and toe. After my tires were on and alignment was complete I recived the print out and I asked why they didn't do the camber or caster. Their response was "that only comes with a 4 wheel alignment". I told them this is the front right tire, and with them not adjusted, the front end isn't aligned properly. They didn't understand that what they said they were doing didn't get done. I don't like being mislead.

They need to pick up the phone. It seems like all towns fair tires stores have the same problem. You call there store and wait for 10 minutes if your lucky or you won’t get anyone at all. Good if you go in person but answering the phone needs to be much better.

My wife recently went in to have a flat fixed and to make an appointment to have all 4 tires replaced. She ended up spending $350 for two off brand tires that cost $60 each online. I think the really took advantge of her and they will never have my business again.

Best deal around for tires! We order a set of 4 and made an appointment to have them put on. When we arrived (6 days later) our tires weren't in yet. They immediately shipped them from another store just 15 minutes away. They took $40 off for our wait plus an additional $50 rebate because they didn't have our tires in stock to begin with. We ended up waiting 2.5 hours, a bit long with 2 kids in tow. But the awesome customer service made up for it. Our tire stems were rusted on. Instead of rushing and breaking them off they took their time to carefully remove them then replace them. Because they felt bad for taking so long they threw in a 4 wheel alignment at the value of $80! All without us asking. We will definitely be back!!!

One star simply because they were open. I arrived at Town Fair Tire in South Portland at 11:00 am to get a tire that looses 15-20 pounds of pressure overnight and perhaps 4-5 pounds between gas fill-ups while on the road from Texas to Maine. At 2:20 pm they finally take the car in. That's over three hours. Customer service? Forget going here for anything except to kill time. So, finally the tech comes to me and says there's nothing wrong with the tire. So, why do I have to add 5-6 pounds of pressure every Five or six hours? He said he'd go check again. Another 15 minute wait.....Tech comes and tells me he did find a leak after all. I go to pay and discover there is no charge for fixing flats. Ok. I get it. I had no idea I would wait until ALL paying customers are served before screwing Freeloaders over. I just wasted 3 hours and 45 minutes getting the shaft. Town Fair Tire sucks.

Tire Fair Tire is and has been the best place to purchase tires. They are a company that stands behind their word. I just bought new tires from Justin and he was able to give me a better deal then the other tire places and went I got there at TFT he had a better rated tire for a few dollars more so I said "let's do it!" I went to Town Fair Tire in Northampton this morning after a recent encounter with a pothole put a gouge in the sidewall of one of my tires. I fully expected them to say I had to replace the tire and get another to balance things out but instead, they told me that the tear wasn't that bad and the tire didn't need to be replaced. I was thrilled to have been able to drive away feeling safe in my car without having to spend a dime. I will always go there when I need tires. Great, honest service!

This was one of the worst experiences I have ever had dealing with anyone. I go in on a Saturday afternoon after a flat tire and of course I need 4 new tires. They have a camera where the work is being done and you can see a number of gentleman working on my left front tire, pulling, pushing, tugging with all of their might. Taking the tire off, putting it back on, impact wrenches, walking away, walking back, bringing another guy over to do the same. Finally, they pull the car out and I hear my name called. They guy hands me the paperwork, along with a lug nut. I said "what am I supposed to do with this?". He said, "oh, not sure, let me check with another guy". I am then told that the car is totally safe to drive, but I have to take it somewhere to get it fixed. Nobody has even told me what the problem is, just that I need to get it fixed. I leave and tell my wife she can drive it, but we need to have some work done on it as a result of the technician making a mistake. She drives it on the highway and tells me it is shaking and rattling. I told her to drive home immediately. I called the shop the next day to ask for direction and what they are going to do for me. The first person I talked to told me I would get a call back. Another 3 hours went by so I figured I would call them back. I was told I would get something by mail (we'll see about that) and I should go and get the car fixed. I just made an appointment with a good mechanic in Northampton to have a look. I will follow-up with how this turns out.

I went to Wibberley Tire this morning for an emissions test. I was expected a small, one man shop but was surprised to see several people behind the counter and a number of mechanics and techs around as well. I was greeted immediately by a friendly woman who took some basic information and provided some background on the emissions check. Instead of waiting, I decided to take a walk to the nearby Dunkin to grab a coffee and a snack. I did than and by the time I got back about 20 minutes later, the car had already been checked out. I couldn't be more pleased with the service I received an will probably return for other vehicle needs in the future.

Took my Minivan in because I picked up a nail in the tire. got some story about running on the tire flat and I needed to get a new tire. Since they didn't carry tires of that brand/tread they pushed for 4 new tires for "Safety" reasons... I had to get mad at them before they would bring my car back out (I was not about to replace tires that were only a few years old) took it to gas station across the road they quickly put a plug in the tire where the nail had been... I ran on those tires for another year and a half before they needed to be replaced.... if you go there expect to be upsold and harassed, most of what they tell you is to extract more $$$ from your wallet. about 4 years ago I bought two tires for a old car and they wouldn't put them on the front for me where I needed them for "safety" reasons. Had to rotate them myself after the fact. This was all to try and get me to buy four tires when I only needed two...

As a business owner I rely heavily on those whom I need to count on in order to keep our company vehicles on the road running smoothly. Value and pricing are pivotal ingredients but communication and service is equally important. In short, after 100+ tires purchased/installed I have a good read on the South Portland Town Fair Tire. Their business model is efficient and they hire good staff. I've worked with Casey, Ben, Michael (who is now at another store), JP, and Justin. They are all hard workers who provide me with a no BS approach to getting in/out. Lower pricing doesn't always equate to primo communication and this crew never lets me down. I've gone other places and this is who I rely on eight days a week...

What a terrible place, should have know better. Had my car dropped off today for two front tires. One wheel comes back with deep gouges plus the added bonus of one side being inflated to 40psi and the other 25psi. Town Fair Tire should be absolutely ashamed of this location.

Good service, generally good prices. They don't carry every brand or model of tire you might want, but who does? If you go there for mounting or other services, they'll try to upsell you every time, but if you stick to your guns they'll back off. Do you really need new valve stems every time you switch from summer to winter tires? Do you really need an alignment twice a year?

Was quoted one price for tires and after my old tires were off, the new price was quoted and then I was told it was my fault because I gave them the wrong size. I will never go again and I recommend that you stay away as well it will save you hundreds of $. Update. I received a call from the owner in Oct 12 apologizing for my experience and stated that they have since changed their policies and services that they charge for. First off I was completely caught off guard with an apology roughly a year later however I was even more impressed when I was being told they were sending me a check to make up for the situation. Maybe a little too late but I will give credit for trying. Not sure If I will ever go back but at least they realized their mistakes and took ownership and I have to respect that. Maybe you will have better luck.

Purchases two tires $500 in total with all the extras they charge. Roughly 1 year later I get a flat that can't be repaired. Luckily I paid the $20 for insurance right? Wrong, they wouldn't replace it because it was likely caused from a pot hole. What does your warranty cover if not pot holes??? Edit: After posting my initial 1 star review I was contacted by the manager apologizing that the warranty i purchased was not given. A refund was given for the tire.

If you want your rims all scored up and studs stripped out, by all means go to town fair.. I had a battle with these people after they ruined 6 total studs on my car which they do not claim credit for, they paid and fixed one over at the Shell station across the road (very very nice people that do you good) .. only one was fixed because they were caught because the lug wouldn't go back on to hide the stud.. they forced all my other sockets on damaged studs.. I had to drive to town fair 3 times within 5 days from Milford MA.. then go to Shell countless times to continuously fix Town Fair's mistakes.. As for rims they take no time to protect or go easy on your rims even after market.. they will blame everything and everyone but themselves for damage, AND JUST SO YOU KNOW TOWN FAIR told me sockets don't score rims FYI "it is impossible they said" .. I spent 900$ for new rims for a reason, to look good, I was yelling back and forth with Kevin because he was throwing every excuse at me, saying it was dirt or I did it. Kevin also needed his lead man from in the garage to verify that sockets were not the cause, even though the socket groves are in my rims.. And now will corrode, *wrap your tools people, keep them rims nice and do the work yourself* (After owner's response) I know I can't prove anything happened in the garage that did any damage but when you have a nice car that you want to take care of and nice rims it's only logic and respect for someone else's property.. might I also add that I was told I came in for a free service.. no matter what kind of service it should be a quality service .. you have lost all business with me I will spend extra money somewhere else to have my car taken care of or I'm going to end up doing it myself .. I understand stuff happens but when you make ridiculous excuses for something that you did to cover up when you could just come out and said sorry ..

Was told I needed new tires (he measured the depth in front of me), and I was pressured into buying them (my fault). Then I took my tires somewhere else to check them (because I did the penny test) and Town Fair said the depth was 3/32nds and they were actually at 6/32nds. That's a big difference! Not sure if Town Fair depth gauges are wrong, but I learnt my lesson to always get a second opinion. They are not honest - I booked in for snow tire changeover and was told even with my appointment I would have to wait 2 hours. When I enquired why he said that changeovers take 90mins and there was someone ahead of me (this is not true, they take a maximum of 45 minutes to changeover). I would rather he just tell me the truth that they had a backlog of cars. Their additional extra's are not worth it - they offer free front wheel alignment but most cars require back as well (which they will then charge you a full alignment for). They charge for snow tire changeover even though they say it is free (they charge for TPMS and balance, the changing tires is free). I will not go back, a friend told me Duffy's is good and they have great google reviews, so I will give them a go.

Brought my truck here for tires. They come out to look at the truck and ask if I have a key for my lug nut. My lungs don’t require a key. Then after looking at the wheel I am told they cannot work on the truck because I do not have the correct lug nuts. Ok. So I call the company I bought the rims from and they assure me my lug nuts that came with the rim are correct. I have had my tires rotated several times, multiple brake services done. Every other mechanic and the rim company say they are correct. So why won’t this town fair work on my truck?? Well it was 96 degrees this day and I was told they already turned away 3 customers before me because it was to hot. So it seems to me they just didn’t want to do the job because of the heat. Terrible.

Have gone here quite a few times to have tires mounted. Bought them from tire rack each time. Got a new car and bought a new set of snow tires and gave them a call to mount them. Took our Subaru in to get the winter tires swapped for all-seasons. Guy walked out and looked at the car, ran his hand over one tire and announced I needed an alignment. Odd since an alignment was done four months earlier. Guy pushed for the alignment several times but I declined and only had the winter-all-season swap done. Got home to check the tire pressures and one tire was almost 60 psi - not the required 32 psi. Also had the car at the dealership a little after that and asked them to check the alignment. It was fine. Not very impressive - to say the least.

These guys always take to long. Priceing is fair, however dont go here if you have a emergency, like a flat or have a odd tire size. Just got my car back just to find my rims not in the order they came in. I had two sets of rims that were similar in style but different design. No one noticed. This is where you need to go! I was helped out by Lukas and boy was he great! As soon as I stepped in, Lukas greeted me and off we went to find my setup. Any questions I had, he was able to give me an answer. The guy knows his stuff! There are sooo many options (a good thing) but he walked me through it and eventually I was able to make a decision. This place charged me for an alignment ($79.99) and after it was "completed" I was told I needed a front outer tie rod end replaced and they couldn't adjust the rear toe if my car because the bolts were too tight and they didn't have the inverted 12 point socket. So to sum it up... They took my money, told me they couldn't do 3/4 of the work and then told me to come back with in the month once I repair it. This is shady practice. The alignment should have never been performed.

Came in for a tiny nail in the center of the tire tread expecting just a quick patch. I was a walk in and waited almost 3 hours...okay that's fine, I get that. Then they tell me that whole tire needs to be replaced because the nail has damaged the sidewall. Not knowing much about tires I agreed to have it replaced. They didn't have the tire in stock so I had to make an appointment during my lunch hour the next day to get it replaced. I came back and waited over an hour before they take the car in despite having an appointment. I asked for the nail but never received it...okay that's fine. They also tried upselling me with several other services but I declined. A couple weeks later I saw my brother who was formerly a manager at firestone and he told me I was overcharged for both the tire and the service. I pointed out where the nail was and he told me he had a hard time believing it could have reached the side wall (it was almost in the center of the tread). Several lessons learned, won't be back.

I ordered a set of 4 tires online i wanted to get a decent set of tires to put on my aftermarket summer rims. i got an an email saying in four days that the tires would be at the store and an appointment at 3:30 .when i got there i was told the appointment was at 4,and also they only sent 2 of the 4 i was told they would sell me a better set for the same price.i agreed to purchase the set.when i got home i went to look up the tires apparently town fair doesn't show these tires ,so then i went to Discount Tire Direct i did find the tires they were $100 cheaper for the 4 then town fair,apparently they have a beat anyones price,and also they have a 30 day return policy which i hope that thats honored.i think there should be more communication between online and store.and by the way the service was performed was excellent !!!! Things work out got the tires I ordered they do stand behind you !!!

First time i got rims and tires they missed balanced them then the rims brand new where bent, they did nothing to help, second time it was more then Expected after I placed my order, this last time I called to get a very common hub ring for my rims and they refused to sell them to me due to not buying a new full set of rims and tires....the lady was flat out rude and did not want to work with me.

I do long hauls in my 09 Impala and every time I take it in for an alignment it’s always quick easy convenient good value and always the same price no games or gimmicks. I trust the people who work there with my vehicle and I even found out recently that my friend works there and I know he does great work so just a bonus. They will take care of your car in a timely manner. Worth every penny! I won’t go anywhere else except a tire shop in SoCal. Town Fair in Noho know what they are doing!

Literally drove to every tire repair shop in the valley and every shop was either rude, or said it would take 4 to 5 hours. Then I went to Town Fair. Chad said it would take two hours but he and the other staff were just so friendly and nice I decided to just bite the bullet and wait knowing I'd miss the party. Consistently a soul-crushing experience here. Over the years my wife and I have bought all season and snow tires here. We have the seasonal tire swaps done here too. My most recent experience was similar to another reviewer's - the technicians trashed a lug nut with an impact wrench while having new tires installed. When I picked the car up the customer service person handed me the ruined lug nut and told me they didn't have a replacement. He said it's ok that the fifth lug nut is not on the wheel, "it's safe to drive." While i'm sure it'll be fine around town for a few days I'm now on the hook for a new lug nut due to the ineptitude of a technician, and I'm reasonably certain no dealer would say driving around with 4 out of 5 wheel lug nuts is either safe or acceptable. During another visit they replaced four tires on one of our vehicles, but also disposed of the good tire on the full size spare (which was on the vehicle with the flat tire/regular wheel in the back of the car). Subsequently they had to dig through their trashed tires to find the good spare and remount it. Envisioning that this may happen, I had asked the customer service person if he want to write any instructions down to avoid this ahead of time and he chose not to do that. Their selection is good, prices are competitive, and the front end service fine but slow. If you're planning to shop here it's probably best to do some research online first, order tires ahead of time, and then make sure the job is done correctly afterward. I guess what I'm saying is that your experience may vary, ours has pretty consistently been average or below average, buyer beware.

Was given two [very] different prices on the same tire by two different employees, and I had to inquire if my tire that was ordered came in since no one called me when it actually did. Once the actual time to install the tire came, it took forever even though I was told it was only gonna take a few minutes since my old tire was left here. Will not be back at this place again.

Now after reading multiple reviews I wish I stayed away from this place. Got 4 tires put on my car while in parking lot I watched employees racing around in customers cars. At that point I should have left, went in side and ordered my tires and I declined the free alignment because I know there not good because of friends that have issues here. I got a snippy alright from the guy at the desk. After they installed my tires and put my 2 good spares in my trunk they kept slamming my door of my trunk till it finally locked again I have a high tolerance for people and never thought anything of it. Drove home and i went in Never looked at my trunk lid. Next day I go out to pull tires out and there's a dent in my trunk!! Fresh paint chipped off not old new so I brought it back and they continue to tell me it was there before. I explained multiple times it wasn't and they kept arguing with me I think I know what the back of my trunk look like before I brought it there. They offered to pay half of the bill if I went to Moody's, why would they offer half if they didn't think they did it. Unfortunately I don't have a picture of the rear door fire of going and it's my word against theirs so who would win this battle unfortunately this poor company. I would strongly recommend staying away from this place I have had too many friends have bad experiences here. They might have the cheapest tires around but you will pay for it in a mounting and balancing tire disposal and their so-called free alignment.

I've been going to Town Fair Tire for 7 years now. I first started out at their Biddeford location. Then switched to their South Portland location, "initially" due to location closer to new job. I've been going to TFT SoPo for just under 5 years and will continue to...and this is why: As of this past week, I'm now on my second set of Toyo's from TFT. I bought them & the package deal again! , because THESE guys are Top Notch in my book. Justin, JP, Casey & Chris...yes, I know them by name because they've been there at least that long and I'm one of those people that remembers when someone treats you professionally and right vs. just when someone doesn't. When I've gone in for my tire rotation and/or alignment or follow up torque, I've had nothing but good experiences. I've never felt insulted or treated condensatingly. Just the opposite... evening having a few times of "above and beyond" service when something encountered unexpected. JP, helping me with a Toyota safety recall debacle interfering with the rearend being aligned and when a bolt broke mid shaft, they owed up to it and paid my mechanic to get it out. Justin, when 1 lug broke due to age-rust, I needed to go pick up a new one, they'd pop it on real quick, no sweat...he had the guys outback (yeah, the ones I have no names for, but know they count big time & have done a great job on my car over the years!...especially with rain and slush snow dripping on their heads) pop on 5 new ones I had got for safe measure. What took them 5 minutes...saved me time, energy and money. Casey and Chris have always been courteous & welcoming. I've never seen any of them "dubbin' off" when I've been there. The place is always hopping and they've been on multi task mode. THAT'S customer service! "Thank you so much!!"

I have been back to this place 3 times for the same problem. Each time my service took 3X to 8X longer than estimated. I know stuff happens sometimes, but they didn't even alert me that there would be a delay when an alignment that they claimed would take 15 mins took 2.5 hours. I had to seek them out for updates. I would rate the service there between 1 and 2 stars. Certainly not 5. In they end they were unable to complete the alignment because of a stuck tie rod. They told me exactly the same thing they told the elderly gentleman before me. This place is a waste of time.

Mostly incorrect and inconsistent pressure but twice they did not seal the value correctly which meant my tire was leaking. First time no problem they fixed. I have had two really incredible experiences here. The first time, my tire got a flat, and they drove out to where I was, put on a spare, and drove it back to their shop for me! The second time, I had just put on new tires from their inventory, and I popped one. They took me right away (without an appointment, even!) and gave me a new one for free. Not a happy customer. This is the 2nd time I waited in their line through my scheduled appointment!! They have 4 people at registers helping customers and not one line designated for scheduled appointments!!!! I stood outside in 15degree weather for 20 min AND I was 10 min early for my 745 am appt.. Why in the hell do we schedule an appt if we have to wait just as long as those who don’t.??? Had four alignments this year. Was very unhappy with my service. After each alignment my tires were still eating themselves. Nobody noticed a worn out tire rod. Then they proceeded to torque my tires to what they claimed was 96. Anyone that knows aluminum rims. They are supposed to be 125. Then I couldn’t get my lug nuts off, obviously were torqued way more the 96 or even 125. As I said I was very unhappy and have found another shop for alignments

Bad experience. Had two new tires put on, and one was flat that evening. When they were finally open on Monday, the woman who answered said I need to drive to them and that they could provide no help (such as, bringing an air compressor to help me drive less than a mile to the store). I have visited here twice. First visit was good (hence the reason i returned). During my first visit i was price shopping and received a detailed tire options and prices, eventually received a good price. They didn't have the tire in store but sent a driver right out to retrieve the tire from a local store. In and out within 90 minutes (including the tire retrieval). My second visit....had my vehicle towed to the shop because I don't have a spare. Needed the same tire except this time I received a "here is the price" attitude along with a "get to it when we can" attitude. They were unable to retrieve the tire for at least a day. Had to Uber home and didn't receive my vehicle until the following night. I felt they took advantage because they knew I didn't have a choice but to use them. That is an untrustworthy store.

Very honest people working there. They don’t charge what is not necessary. It took them over 20mins to fix my flat because the nail is tricky, it kind of went through the side, but still fixable. They fixed it and only charged for $5. They told me to keep an eye on that tire in the long run. This is how you earn customers trust, I will choose them for sure if one day that tire needs to be replaced!

Awesome service. I had to get 4 new tires a few weeks ago unexpectedly. They took me in right away and were very convenient and helpful. Today, I got a bubble on one of my new tires from hitting a curb and they helped me as soon as I came in the shop. He was able to get my tire replaced fast and at a small cost thanks to a warranty I had that I didn't know I had. Also, all of this was done a half hour before closing. I know how annoying it can be sometimes for a last minute job to come in so this was really awesome. I have been to other Town Fair Tires before but this one definitely takes the cake. You'll never meet a more helpful or kind person than the manager Lucas from TFT. I was traveling w/ my son from CT to the NH Ice Castles and got a flat on the back roads. To make matters worse, the front two tires were completely bald, the one back tire was busted completely from driving on my flat and I had only ONE good tire - and a bad snow storm was on the way! Needless to say, our little trip turned into quite the adventure! TFT was the only tire store who could assist. Not only did I receive the best service EVER from Lucas, but he was honest, patient, compassionate and quick! I had new tires and was on my way before you knew it. AND, because I needed tires right away to drive home in a storm, the ones that would get me home safe weren't the ones I wanted to keep; but Lucas sure made sure safety was his first priority for my son and I. TFT was a BREEZE to work with. When I got back home, Lucas actually called my local TFT and we ordered the upgraded tires I wanted. They switched them out without any trouble at all! Not a one!! Top notch customer care! I have previously purchased from Townfair Tire, before traveling to their Concord NH location. This was my first visit to the new location in Littleton, and I will continue to only buy tires at Town Fair. As a walk-in customer I was immediately greeted and within the first minute of walking into the store I was made aware that I would be able to get tires and an alignment complete within an hour or so. The tire that I inquired about was not in stock, however I was shown a comparable tire. I was only shown and sold what I wanted, this is important to me. Other places I have been typically try to up sell, or sell you things that you simply don't need. This was a cut and dry to the point transaction where I got exactly what I wanted for the price I was looking for which is great for those of us on a budget. Upon completion of the transaction I waited for about an hour and was kept informed of the progress as well as being able to monitor the work being preformed via the television monitor which showed the shop out back. They kept their word and I was out the door in about an hour. Great Service! Couldn't be happier!

Went in to have a tire replaced that was defective, service at the counter has a screen where you can watch, my son tells me the guy is hitting the tire, I explained sometimes they do that with a rubber mallet to brake the tire free, well to my surprise when my car came out the rims were damaged not from a rubber mallet, there were scrapes many of them, I asked the guy you had to hit the tires to get them off, he said "no they came right off" and "your cap on the lug nut kept spinng" and then put it in my hand and went inside the store. I have a 2004 Jaguar can't believe that was my first visit. Very upset.

I used to recommend them to everyone, but they've gone downhill over the past few years. They still have some helpful staff, but not like they used to. I recently purchased summer tires for a car, and part of the sales pitch was a significant mail-in rebate. I left my car for a couple of hours, then waited another 45 minutes after returning for my car to be finished. Upon checking out, the customer service rep did not offer any assistance or even a reminder about how to obtain the mail-in rebate.(I looked up the info a few days later online, after I remembered on my own.) Additionally, I had specifically said I thought the snow tires had another season in them during our initial conversation, and he agreed. He then charged me for recycling the old tires, and would indeed have recycled them had I not realized the error when I picked up the car. I asked about the tires, and they bagged them, but I ended up loading them into the car myself. I'm a healthy adult and am perfectly capable of putting 4 tires into a car... but it's a principle thing. The attendant also didn't offer to refund the $8 recycling fee I had paid, and I didn't bother to point it out. Again, it's not the $8, it's the lack of customer service for someone who just spent almost $800 at your business.

I’m very particular with my wheels and tires for all my vehicles. After a few bad experiences with Tire Warehouse I went up the road to Townfair Tire where I was greeted by a clean and well mannered staff. They took care of my vehicles needs in an upmost professional manner. The store appeared to be so busy I wasn’t even sure if I had the time but I couldn’t put new tires off any longer. Michael who was at the desk was able to give me the best options and the best price hands down. I was really looking to find any damage on my set of BBS RS GT wheels which mind you are very expensive. I recently had a terrible customer service experience with the Topsham location. I brought a tire up the day before to have them fix a valve at their convenience, knowing everyone is busy. I booked a 5 pm appointment for the next day to have the tire put back on my car, and for them to check a valve on another tire that they said they fixed only the week before, but was still having issues. I arrived for the appointment on time and was told it’d be about an hour. I waited 35 minuets and noticed my car was still sitting in the parking spot. I inquired about my car and they said they were busy (isn’t the manager responsible for timing the services going on? And isn’t that person responsible for ensuring upcoming prebooked appointments will get their services in a timely manner?). So I waited. After a full hour, my car was still in the parking spot. I was furious. I demanded to speak with the manager who proceeded to yell at me a litany of excuses - my crew is sick with the flu, the air hoses keep freezing, jobs are taking longer, I have a family at Home too, my crew is working 80 hours a week, other customers had been waiting longer... this was his way of “servicing the customer” - not taking responsibility, not having his front desk staff check in with customers and provide updates (they were many of us waiting, with young kids), not planning and managing the time of jobs (booked appointments and walk-ins)... just an overall terrible experience and I’d strongly advise anyone against this place. Oh, and I just bought my tires from them this summer and no courtesy given to me for both being a customer and having tire issues on tires I bought from and were serviced by them. Horrible. If another manager or supervisor would like to reach out to me, I’d be happy to share this with them. I’m sure the guys at the location remember me. This was so upsetting to me.

I use Town Fair in South Portland for my business. Was driving my wife's car when we heard a scraping sound. Pulled off into a parking lot to find a large piece of the undercarriage was dangling and making contact with the road. Noticed Town Fair in Topsham across the street. Had four tires dismounted and replaced, and to that extent it went well. Unfortunately, three of the four wheels suffered minor to relatively significant damage to the powder coat, along the outfacing flange and (weirdly?) on the spokes. They did grind flat and polish the centerbore, though, which was nice, and also replaced the chrome valve stem covers.

Everyone here was very courteous and helpful. They explained why my tire was leaking and how a repair wouldn't be enough, before they proceeded with any other action. They even put my spare tire on for me because the new tire wouldn't be delivered till the following day. Oh, and their waiting area has tv screens with wait times and a queue with each customer on it. They've really got it down to a science.

Priced my tires out and had nearly pulled the trigger on a 1000$ tire and TPM sensors combo till I come to find out “they do not mount tires on new wheels that are not purchased through them” Wasn’t sure if I need to scratch my new wheels up and call them used to get them mounted, but I guess trusting them with mounting your new set of wheels isn’t one of the services provided. Discounts on tires and long lines for free changeovers is hardly worth the 60$-80$ I’d overpay at competitors Edit post response - I specifically asked to only have the tires mounted on the wheels and balanced - I did NOT ask for them to be mounted on the vehicle as that’s something I’m able to handle myself.

Three friends had worked at this Town Fair Tire, so I have been loyal for years. Not anymore!! Nine months ago, I had a blow-out with tires I bought from them. Put on my spare and went into get a new tire. I was told (by the mechanic in the garage) they were certain there was a recall on my tires! I was happy that I wasn't going to have to pay for them. They offered to do all of them that day, but I didn't have time to have them all done, so I just had the one that blew out changed. I was told that kind of tire was "Guaranteed in Stock" at all times so I wouldn't have trouble when I went back in to get the other three done. I went to the counter to get my keys and the Sales Person at the counter (yes they work on commission) told me my balance to pay!! I told him the mechanic said there was a recall on them. He basically called me a liar and I had to pay for the tire. I went back two weeks later to have the other three done (so I could get the matching set). They didn't have the tire that is "Guaranteed in Stock"!!! They said they have a very similar tire and they could change them all now. I really don't care if they are an exact match as long as the treads do. They took the car in and put the three tires on and offered to do the fourth since they don't match!! I told them it's a brand new tire that I just bought from them, so NO I don't want it changed. When they brought the car around the three new tires treads aren't even close to the original!! The original had straight treads: Example: ||=||. The new three had: //=\\ (fancy...) So, I go in to pay and now I'm told they quoted me for the wrong ones and these are $40 more each!! I told them to take them off and put on the right ones. They told me they were out of stock on them. They made me pay the difference!! They also tell you that if you need a patch it's free (at the time of purchase). Yesterday my tire was flat. Put some air in it to get to Town Fair (again loyalty...I know, I know...). There's a nail in my tire (courtesy of the roofers - don't use Roberts Roofing either). The guy comes out and looks at it and tells me that it's going to be $4.25. It *should* be free, but it's $4.25 and I can't complain. So we go into the building and he looks me up by my phone number and just stares at the computer screen not moving for a good 3-4 minutes without saying anything. Turns and gets the Tire Model Book (the one they use to quote tires to you) and looks up a tire and says "So, you're going to need a new tire." WHAT? I asked why and he said, "Look hon (offensive), let me explain tires to you..." Treating me like I'm a stupid little girl!! He said the nail was close to the sidewall so the tire was junk. The nail was over an inch away from the sidewall and in the tread angled away from the sidewall. I told him that I will just put my spare on and leave. He said, "Oh, we can do that for you...with a minimal fee..." I had had it! I just listened to them tell a woman she has a broken tie rod (and she drove it in there without dragging her tire sideways)!! Scam artists!! I told him that I can put my own spare on and I was headed to Duffy's to get treated like a human being and not a walking wallet. Town Fair bad mouths Duffy's to customers all the time, but Duffy's is the real deal! They take care of their customers (writing them a review next). Went to Duffy's and they patched it real nice and said that the sidewall was not compromised! Moral: Even when you think the name Town Fair Tire turn on your manual override and go to Duffy's!!

Avoid this place! Went here two times. The first time it was supposed to be a quick tire change so I waited. A couple hours went by and I looked outside and my vehicle was sitting there ready, but they didn’t let me know the vehicle was ready. I was willing to let that one go, so I try round 2. Dropped the car off at 8am in the morning. 2:30pm rolls around so I decided to call and check. “There’s 4 cars ahead of you.” Four hours later “I’m up next.” Nope - I’ll take my business elsewhere. Also - look at all the fake reviews on this place - I’ve never seen people so excited about a tire shop before. Look at all the people with only 1 review (there’s a couple people with two reviews but the other one is for the town fair tire in Augusta). That’s really all you need to know about this place. Shady.

A few days after posting this review I was contacted by Justin because he agreed that 3 hours for this service was shameful and he did everything in his power to right the wrong. So do yourself a favor and deal with Justin at this location if you can he will take good care of you.

In the end I got a good deal but you must go in armed with information and prepared to walk. I had already visited another location for a quote and though I was headed to Costco I heard their add about "beating everyone's price" again so I figured I'd try again. Let's just say it wasn't easy and still at the very end they tried to add costs. Before you give the green light KNOW the final deal because repeatedly through 45 minutes of back and forth they kept trying to add costs or fees. In the end I got a good deal but only because I had the info from their competitors and because I was prepared to walk. In fact, they stopped me from doing so twice. I'll see tomorrow how things go when I go in for snow tires. They are supposed to mount at "no charge" but if they charge for balancing etc I'll call BS. It will be their chance to gain a life customer.

So I made an appt for the next day at 5:30....got down here and said there was no appt and they’re not taking walk ins...bunch of clowns down there

I've used Town Fair for years, always with good results. Good selection, good service, friendly and efficient employees. Usually quick to get an appointment there, except at the start of winter when everyone needs snow tires and they're hard pressed to keep up. Good service even then.
