The Great Blizzard of 2013 was only hours away. The mismatched tires on the rear of my 07 Charger would never get me through. I was through with Town Fair. You can feel your beard grow while waiting on them! So I gave Star Tire a call. They didn't have the tire (Michelin) in stock that I wanted. But it turned out the tires they suggested (Pirelli) were better priced, in stock and, I'm so glad to say, performed GREAT in the snow. The price they quoted over the phone was the price I paid. And the car was done quicker than I ate my bagel at Dunkin next door. As soon as I have the $$$ I'll be back for a set on the front.

This place is so unprofessional as a customer and employee way over priced you can find a better deal at town fair tire all the equipment is not up to date so many dangerous and hazardous accidents waiting to happen and they say the techs are certified but there far from it there certified from there back yard just go to a real shop with ASE certified Mechanics and do your homework before u get ripped off or avoid your car from getting f**ked up from star tire

The owner Paige and her TOP NOTCH STAFF always go the extra MILE for me and I am a very satisfied customer every time I leave their premise! Had my incredible winter tires which I purchased from them 3 years ago swapped with my summer tires. While they were working on the car they checked out my front hood which was jammed and could not be opened.(Paige being observant as she is noticed my hood problem when she came into work). I had my oil changed at another shop the day before. When I was ready to leave that shop I noticed the hood was not shut properly. It also was jammed shut. Told the manager of that shop there was a problem. After going back and forth with the mechanic and manager it was agreed upon that if there was proof they damaged my hood, they would make restitution. Thanks to Star Tires CRACKER JACK "pit STAR!" Glenn who was with proper tools and ever so gentle with just raising the hood with fellow mechanics found a Snap on Tool socket wrench that was upright jamming the hood spring unit. This is what I mean by going the "Extra MILE" I truly think they should incorporate that sentiment in their advertising. IT IS SO TRUE! Thank you PAIGE and all your staff including you two wonderful front desk ladies.Ginger and Nilda. Your all STARS!

On our way home to Asheville from Massachusetts my car hit a pothole In Massachusetts my tire was destroyed and the wheel of my car with cracked we got the donut put on and proceeded to drive home to Asheville we called star Auto Repairs and Tires .. Tim and the management was so good they directed us From 200 miles away Helped us with new wheels and a tire they gave us the best price ever I thank them so much for everything they have done they are truly good and kind people you always hear about the People out there who try and swindle you but not Tim and the management they took care of us and got us back on the road thank you so much

Great place for flat repair. I felt people were honest with me and the work was done effectively and quickly. I was in a bind with a flat. Looked for places around where I live and found this. $17 for flat repair, did opt for rebalancing, but total was just under $33. I was in and out withing 30 minutes. Glad I found this place!

Don't go to these guys, a complete waste of time. They have no idea what they're doing or they just don't care. I brought my car in and told them I think something snapped near my front driver side tire and after inspecting my car they told me that nothing was wrong with the body of my car and that it was a transmission issue and referred me to DR. Nick's. So I took my car to Roberts Service Center instead and they fixed my car up that very same day. It turns out that my front driver side axel had snapped so I don't understand why they tried telling me I had a transmission issue. I had already spent almost $2000 on to car repairs in the last 6 months with star Tires plus wheels including an almost $900 job i had done by them just one day prior to my axel snapping and not once have I left there with my car driving any better than it drove before taking it in to them. Seriously I don't know what these guys are doing or why they have such high ratings because they've done nothing but waste my time and money for whatever reason. I was never rude to them and I was always very patient and never gave them any trouble. I was always very descriptive with them whenever I brought my car in to have them look at it and I was always very clear about the issues I was having with my car, but I guess that just wasn't enough for them. I'll never understand what was so hard about finding a broken axel either when I told them I think something snapped near my front tire. Just mind boggling.

Very bad service Andy the owner and operator a very rude and unprofessional person I paid them before the service was done my rim was cracked in the process of replacing tire I came all the way from Winsted c.t my rim wasn't leaking I would of noticed my car tire sensor warning light would have came up on dash I told them that from how it looked there tire machine must of clamped on wrong or put to much force on the rim the wheel size are 22" wheels low pro tires very disappointed and now I might stay stranded going back home these people are horrible in every way I am going to court with this vs Andy owner and operator manager is nilda and sales rep Williams not one of them seemed concerned will never ever go back and do not recommend any one going to this place

I had come in with studded snow tires to mount to my legacy, and was very worried that i would be upsold as i just wanted to mount the wheels with a spacer. Nilda was extremely concerned about my safety because i wouldn't have enough turns to tighten my wheels. I check on it and realized she was in fact correct. My knowledge is very little when it comes to wheels. They solved my issue! The owner Andy was there and he made it happen for me. I always have anxiety going to these shops, but Star tire changed that for me! I recommend Star 100% You guys rock!

I don't normally write reviews online. This is the first for me but my experience with Star Tire in West Haven was so bad, felt compelled to write something. If I can save just one person the aggravation I encountered, than the time invested in drafting this review was worthwhile. I would strongly advise you take your car elsewhere. There are many reputable tire & repair centers that are willing to stand behind their products and services. In my experience, Star Tire of West Haven was not. I am not going to bother with all the gory details but here a couple of points that highlight my experience: 1) it took them 5 hours to mount and balance 4 tires. (That's not four hours of waiting and an hour to do the job. It actually took them five hours to replace four tires.) 2) they retuned my vehicle with two leaking tire TPMS sensors. The tires were flat, under 15PSI, before I got to the interstate, which is a couple of miles from their facility. 3) when I returned to their facility the owner suggested that the leaking sensors were my responsibility... my experience went downhill from there. Use this review however you would like. I would just say buyer beware.

In the middle of a road trip, I had a tire pop and I was due for a new set of tires anyway. Called them up and they said they would have me back on the road in an hour. They 100% lived up to that promise, the staff was incredibly kind and told me about some local places to go while my car was being worked on. An hour later, I was back on the road with a new set of tires. Highly recommend this place for all your tire needs.

William answered the phone and I explained to him that I ran a flat on the hwy, and how I was unable to find the tires I needed on my BMW the same day. I had to have them special ordered but in the meantime I needed to be able to drive my car as I was going to drop my parents to JFK airport. William was very understanding and offered me a loaner tire and fixed it within 15 mins. I would give them all stars for their out of the box thinking and honesty. They checked all my other tires and did not try to squeeze me into spending money for another tire, like many other big box tire retailers would do. I stumbled upon them and I am so glad I did. Had my rims put on just two days ago and center piece must have come off while driving/ I keep my car in my garage/ they said they cant replace it b/ c maybe it was stolen i told them impossible due to only having them on for two days and kept on my garage only took it out to work and noticed when i arrived at work. They said i would have heard the lose cap / how would i hears a lose cap if im driving and have music on / they are only willing to give me $20 store credit. The owner is a nasty scammer that grossly overcharges. I recommend staying away. There is better, cheaper service available out there. We were quoted initially about $17 to fix a flat, quote that ballooned to a little less than $40 in the middle of the procedure. Seemingly, they did not realize that a tire balancing would be necessary when re-mounting the tire, after fixing the flat? Of course they did know. They are just shady. In addition to being suspicious, their business practices are also overpriced. Town Fair Tire's pricing for the same procedures is about $5. When threatening them with leaving a negative review online, warning unsuspecting customers never to use their shady and overpriced services, the owner actually orders me banned out of his shop, permanently. Unbelievably nasty and unhinged individual!!!

Not very honest. Went there to fix a flat tire. My tire is new with just 10k miles on it. But the guy told me they can't fix the tire because it's too close to the side. But, in my understanding, it wasn't that close. It was about an inch farther from the side. Another repair shop fixed it without any problem. I have left the picture of the tire after the repair with this review. People, you decide if it was unrepairable. The little patch you will see in the photo is the place where the nail damage was. When something is broken, how hard you try it won't be the same as the new one. There are always risks associated with that. And, customers too have to be aware of that. But, it doesn't mean that you refuse to fix the thing when you have a business of fixing things. It will be just a strategy of selling a new one.

It takes me 4 hours out of my day (I live in Brookfield) to have a snow tire charge over at Star Tire. (an hour drive each way and 2 hours waiting around to have my tires changed) I cold easily go to BJs or Costco which are minutes away. I chose Star because they're a Jewish-Owned business (I'm Jewish) and they offered free tire change-over, BALANCING and $50 per season tire storage. I bought Blizzak Snow Tires two "snow-seasons" ago. I've the tires an dI believe that they are the best, performance and noise-wise. See the review by Ra Ra which tells a similar story. I am now ASHAMED that this is a "Jewish-owned" business. It gives us a bad name. BUT they now (and last time) want to charge me about $65 for balancing even though initially, when I bought my tires, they said it was free. I am NOT mistaken. They claim that "even their family" pays for balancing". (What???!!! They charge their family !!!???) When it comes to replacing my snow tires, I'll go to BJs or Costco. Note, most of their reviews are VERY GOOD but several refer to the "so-called 'Nasty' owner", Andy. I met him when I had my dispute over balancing and he did off THIS and ONLY this balancing for free, but "from now on" I would have to pay for it. That was NOT the deal that was made when the tires were sold to me. My point here is that "The Customer is always right". It's far too costly to have a disappointed, much less angry customer, then to do the right thing. Make the customer satisfied, whatever it takes. this is sometimes called the "Nordstrom philosophy", after the department store known for the absolute best customer service. After reading The "owner" response, I change my rating from 4 to 1 star. I did not request anything free "Because I am Jewish". I chose Star over Town Fair Tire because Star is Jewish-owned and I believe in working with "the Tribe" as a preference when possible. I expected Free Balancing because that is what I was told, as I stated in my review", when I purchased the snow tires 2 years ago. After seeing the response from the "Owner", I believe that both parties would have a more pleasant life if I took my business elsewhere. Which I will do immediately. As I said, "what goers around, comes around. I will avoid STAR TIRE and take my business to a facility tat understands "Customer Service" and integrity: Costco and BJ's, both less that 10 minutes from my place. The "owners" response refers to "Colorado". I don't know what point they are trying to make or refer to.

I went into Tire Plus Wheels needing to buy locks for my wheels. My lug studs were also not in the best of shape. The shop employees showed me and offered to change them for me. I didn't feel pressured into having them replaced by any of the employees. They were very professional and took great care of me .I would Definetly be doing more business with them in the future and highly recommend them. I arrived to the shop frustrated from horrible experience from Key Hyundai. Not only did they help solve a problem but because of their customer service I had them rotate tires. On inspection of my tires they showed me that my tires which were put on by Key Hyundai less than 5000 miles ago needed to be replaced due to alignment issues.
