About two and a half weeks ago I was referred to porto's tires because I was continually getting a flat tire. I am only able to go on Saturdays because I work throughout the week. When I went, they said there was a nail in my tire and they would be able to just "patch" it and I wouldn't need to get a whole tire. He process took about ten minutes and cost me less then 30 dollars. The very next day my tire pressure light went off and my tire was flat again. I called and they said maybe there is another nail they didn't catch and to come in that Saturday. I asked to make an appointment and was told I didn't need one. That Saturday I called to come in and they said they didn't have a spot for me and to come in Monday. I expressed to them that I drive far to and from work and could not make it until Saturday, and also couldn't keep driving on a slow leaking tire. He just said he was sorry but they were busy. That day I went to another mechanic and they told me I needed a NEw tire. They explained that the "plug" that they had put in was not big enough for the actual puncture in my tire and air was still leaking through. Because you cannot plug a tire twice, I would now have to buy another tire. This now cost me over 100 dollars. I called porto's back and explain my situation and that I wanted a refund. The gentleman that I spoke too said he would refund me which I was thankful for. A week and a half went by and I still have not received a refund. I called back and they said they would give me a call back in a few hours but I never heard from them. I called again yesterday and again got the same message but gave not heard from them. My frustration is the lack of care for my business and for my car. The improperly "fixed" my car and then proceeded to lie to me about fixing the issue. Trust and respect goes a long way and we all make mistakes. A simple refund would have fixed the problem but at this point I doubt I'll be getting my money back. I would never recommend this place to anyone. They are not skilled mechanics and will tell you something is fixed when it's not. Thankfully it was only my tire they were working on, not something they could have touched that would really ruin my car. I'm sticking to wheelers. They're a little pricey but they are honest and do an amazing job.

Guys are super nice. Fair prices and they hooked me up same day with 4 new tires even tho they had to order them from somewhere else. Gave me a time they would call when they were ready and was right on time. Cant ask for more than that! Definitely will be using them in the future! :)

I'm a medical courier that delivers time sensitive blood samples to a lab. I picked up a screw in my tire and Porto's took it right in and fixed it in 20 minutes, at a very reasonable price. Fast and friendly.

Porto's is our go to shop for anything tires and roadside assistance. We found them last year when we moved our HQ to Hamden and we will never use anyone else. These guys are super professional, knowledgeable, and most importantly reliable. We not only use them for our fleet of trucks, but we also use them for our personal vehicles as they have the best prices around. Thank you Dave, Mark and Staff!

Recommended by the person I for. (Who is familiar with the owner) That's why I was sent there. I had low tire pressure in a rear tire brought it to Porto. They fixed it immediately and informed me there was a nail in the tire. I was charge $26.00. The following day while driving to work the low tire pressure warning came on for the same tire. Brought it back to Porto. They said it was another nail and they must have "missed" yesterday. This time I was charged $25.00. I paid for what they missed. Surprised by that I walk out and said WOW I just got screwed and I'm not coming back, I don't care who knows them. After some thought and speaking with the person I work for, they encourage me to called Porto the discuss the matter. I called, explained who I was, and who had recommended me to them. The owner of the business was very abrupt said "What's the problem?" "I know, the two nails" "What do you want, a rebate" "How much did pay?" "Did you pay cash?" "I'll give you $10.00 how's that?" WOW again. What is wrong with people. Good business would have been "Just pay for the parts" "Thank you for your business". On that note I'm done. Won't be back. The folks at PEPBOYS in Hamden are much more respectful and have gone the extra mile for me. I'm gonna stick with them.
