The Mavis web site says make an appointment. Which I did for a 9:30 am tire rotation.The counter person says Mavis doesn't take appointments and he could not honor the appointment.. He said it in a not very polite manor. His attitude said take your business elsewhere. Which I will. They act as if we should be honored to bring our business to them. Update, 17:00 and they haven't touched the car. They close at 18:00 and I expect to be told they couldn't get to it. 17:52 and there is no counter person. If your company can't handle the business why do you accept more cars than you can handle. 17:56 the car was done. I could go on but I don't care anymore. Mavis just bought a tire company in Florida. After hearing my story my youngest daughter said she was going to go to get new tires this weekend at Mavis bit she was glad I told her.

(The login here is from my wife but I'm Nathan Lidia giving review.) We bought some tires for my 2013 Forester. It was good to do business with them. I got some tires that I like for much less than anything else I was looking at. There was a mix up in the tires they put on but they did not hesitate to correct the problem and were very nice people to work with. I also like the open Gideon Bible on the counter. The only thing I would recommend is for one of them to be careful with the language as not everyone likes to hear it. But we will be shopping there for our others vehicle soon.

I am a satisfied customer for 15 years. The managers are very courteous and knowledgeable. They pay attention to your requests. They also will try to fit in last minute tire repairs when possible, even when schedules are filled for the day. I only use this shop for tire, wheel, and occasional steering, suspension and brake work. All have been excellent except one, and that was redone at no charge.

They may be good for getting tires and oil changes, but I DO NOT recommended them for mechanic work. My serpentine belt was squealing, and they told me my A/C compressor was locking up and had to be replaced. I'm no genius, but if a compressor is locking up, the A/C doesn't work, mine clearly did. I paid the diagnostic fee and didn't let them touch my car, and left as quick as I could. Took my car to another shop. It was not the A/C compressor, It was the tensioner pulley. This place tried to scam me out of a $1000. If a mechanic can't tell the difference between a bad A/C compressor and a bad tensioner pulley, they shouldn't be working on cars. But I have a feeling they knew it wasn't the compressor. They need to stick to tires and oil changes. What a terrible place. They were nice, but not $1000 extra worth of nice.

They told me I could pick up my car after hours and they would just leave the keys in the car and the receipt on the passenger seat. I walked down after hours and my car was LOCKED! It is 20 degrees outside and am stranded without my car. This is disgusting! They straight up lied to me and messed up now my wife has to drive to pick me up from upstate NY. They deserve negative stars. So I picked up my car the next day(with help from my wife) and get it off the highway. Now I'm hearing a grinding sound from the brakes ... Just after they rotated the tires and "did" an ailgnment - I really can't explain the level of disappointment in Mavis. I am currently waiting at the New Rochelle (north ave) as it was the closest to where I got off the highway. It took over an hour for them to even bring my car in.

I had a funeral in Norwalk at 1PM. I live in NYC. I called Mavis in Riverside at 8AM. They ordered the tire I needed. I arrived at their Riverside location at @10:30AM. The person that I spoke to at 8AM (Grady) was TERRIFIC. Also the person behind the counter was extremely helpful and listened to my situation seriously. They had the tire on my car and ready to go by @11:30 AM. The service and their consideration was truly ABOVE & BEYOND. THANKS!!!

Just wanted to let you guys know how much I'm enjoying my new Michelin tires that was installed on my Golf. Cost $1K but worth it. Too bad it didn't come from your business. You lost all future sales from our household when you threw away our metal valve stem caps on my wifes car and replaced them with cheapo green caps. Went back to get the metal caps, you couldn't find them, so you gave us another set of plastic caps. The only reason I gave you guys 2 stars is because the tires we had put on my wifes car are doing well. Funny how you can lose future business over the small things. I'll let you know when I get a new set for my F250 that's coming up.

I really liked this place when it was Upton Tires but now, no Thank you, I called about getting a complete set of tires for my truck, I had my size and the cost from the website but for some reason the lady that I spoke with didn't want to honor the price it was border line rude and had to speak to the Manager, he didn't act like he wanted to honor it either. I'm not sure who owns this place but they need to find another line of work, not dealing with the public, would help.

I've experienced subpar service with this location each time I've dealt with them. Most recently, a flat repair on my car failed while I was merging on the interstate. After waiting for three hours, an employee told me that I would have to cover part of the cost of the tire; he could not tell me how much my bill would be. I responded by saying that the tire would have been undamaged if their repair had worked. On another occasion, they tried to charge me around $60 for nitrogen on one occasion when I did not ask to have my tires inflated with it. They are consistently slow, and the only reason I am continuing to let them anywhere near my car is the warranty on the new tires I purchased here.

The best around always busy for good reason. Walter runs a great shop along with master mechanics like Rafael and Frankly. Service is efficient but make an online appointment for best service. They care about what they they do here and it shows. I've gotten tires brakes and other work done here. Zero complaints honest and reasonable pricing.

I'm very verery very happy with the service. they don't sugest to do unnecessary repairs. even do soomebextra work to save you money. my jammed metal cap on the tire sensore wasn't coming out without braking. every place I went I was tood to change all 4 sencores. they wworked little eextra aan fixed the problem by just changing the vulbs. which cost me less then 1 sencors price. honest ppl. I called a day before to ask if i could drop my vehicle off first thing in the am, they said no problem (for a rotation and alignment). I stressed I had to be somewhere that afternoon and they promised it would be done by noon. After driving by twice and seeing the truck out front I called and they said they could not get the lug nut dust covers off (its two bleeeping Alan keys a cover)((had to go there to show them)). Again they promised it would be done by noon. My fault, I believed them. Not only did I not get the truck back till almost five but they did not do half the work they were supposed to (the alignment). Went on a vacation to only get there and see both inner front tires completely bald. Long story short i now had to buy 4 new tires and am out $1,300. Do not ever go to this place. Went to them because it was close by but not worth it in the long run. This place is a joke and a rip off.

Had a blow out in my new car. I called around and got no where until Google suggested Tire Engineers. From the first call I was being help. They drove to me to help with an issue with my lug nuts. Followed me to a gas station, then to the garage. Never once acted like they were inpatient. Ordered my special for tire, and had it delivered while I was still there. Nothing but common courtesy. I had an appointment at 11:30 ended up getting out of there at 3:00 pm. Appointment times don't even make any sense as walk in customers are also getting the same priority. When I asked the guy at the desk he was arrogant "I cannot fix your car if there is no bay available", why do you give appointments times if you cant schedule it. I give 2 for because the installation was good. 0 for customer service.

I never give reviews, but I thought I will share my experience this time. Nice people, but be ready to sit there for hours. Even in the middle of the week they are so very slooooooooow. I went there twice, and at the first time I was there for 3,5 hours, second time 5 hours. Bring your lunch or just go home, because they will tell you 1,5 hour but you will spend there half a day.

Dismal customer service. Not only did they not have the 4 tires in stock (customer service who made appt said they had 8), but there is no consideration for customer time. Got there at 8am (per their recommendation) #2 in line, car doesn't hit the lift until 8:15- no urgency to move the process along. At 9am notice that no one is working on the car for 15min. Ask front desk what is happening and find out they only have 2 tires and had to send a cab to get 2 more. So basically bad internal operations & little concern for updating the customer (unless you ask) that they will be waiting longer.

I went there to get a tire replaced that had a bubble in it. It was there tire that they sold to me originally period in the last year I have bought 7 tires from them because of the poor quality of their tires. Yesterday they wanted to charge me for the rubber used on my tire that was the funniest thing I've ever you heard I had just had the tires put on in November and already had a bubble and here we are in January. I don't recommend this place to anybody every time I've gone there has been a problem

Here is the story about last three visits (from June to August, 2018) at Mavis Tire, Riverside, Connecticut store: 1. I needed to change all of my BMW 535i run flat tires. I wanted all season tires instead of summer or winter tires. I later found out that they put new summer tires. When I asked why, they said that they couldn’t get all season tires. When I asked why they did not ask me before replacing tires, they had no answer and they did not even apologize for their mistake. I wanted to have that fixed and their answer was there is nothing they can do know. Unbelievable!! 2. I changed my brake pads & rotors for the same car, BMW 535i, with them. I noticed car was shaking when applying the brakes. I took the car back to them for fixing and they seem to have fixed it. The problem is back again after another 800 miles of driving the car. Not sure how many times I have to bring the car back to them. 3. My mistake to go to them again for changing my Lexus IS250 brake pads and rotors for front and rear. After I got my car back, I noticed that there was smoke coming out of left rear tire. I took the car to them and their standard answer was that this happens for first few miles. When the smoke did not stop, I took the car back to them. They had to fix the brake issue to have smoke go away. After about couple of hundred more miles, we find that the car is driving heavy and braking action is weak. I asked them what is wrong with the brake and what is the quality of brake pads / rotors have they used. The standard answer is that this happens a lot with any moving parts. Not sure, if there is possibility of legal case against them for exposing people to dangers when they do this kind of lousy brake jobs. My recommendation, if you care for your car and safety, stay away from them.

OMG!!! IF you need your car serviced come to Tire Engineers in Flowood, MS. Ask for Clint. I was on my way to do an errand at 6.45am today and ALL my dashlights came on. Clint and his service tech showed and explained to me what happened with my car. They needed it for 4hours. I had a training at 9am, Clint gave me a lift to class. That's SUPREME customer service☺.

As usual, everything at Mavis was top notch with an added positive twist... I had all the tires replaced and an alignment done too. Given the wear on my old tires there was some question about the shocks on the car being bad. Rather than replacing them straight away, they called the dealership and found out they were still under warranty and told me that I should go to the dealer for those. That sort of integrity is why I have been going there for years and why I will keep going there.

In the past I have dealt with Danny and Bobby who always treated me great but his manager they have now Kurt is a complete crook, D Bag, unscrupulous, conniving , low life and arrogant person. He treat his employees HORRIBLE and the customers worse. He will do unnecessary work just to make his numbers, How this man sleeps at night is beyond me. Caleb who is the service manager and Nigel are two gentlemen who I have complete trust in. The service I required was completed satisfactorily. I called from their parking lot from another vehicle to see when the work would be completed. I was told the vehicle was 'on the machine' and would be ready to go in an hour or so. The car was ready to go as stated, but I was disappointed to be lied to directly (not uncommon from this type of business). This was after not completing the service in the allotted/promised timeframe and calling to confirm several hours later around closing time that they would be need to keep the vehicle overnight. I had used this location before when it was STS to have tires, inspections, and routine maintenance done, but after the experience I had my new tires completed by a mobile tire installer which completed the service ahead of schedule and I didn't have to leave my home to have it done. 3 stars only because I'm a patient person and didn't need the vehicle immediately.

I took my care to Mavis to get a wheel alignment. I took my car to different mechanic for the same service a year ago, but felt no difference in the performance of my car. I took the same car to Mavis a few days ago and a mechanic named Matthew, who worked on my car, gave me a print out to show me what was done and what my wheel alignment looked like before and after the wheel alignment. After driving my car for a couple of days, I notice a huge improvement in my car's steering. Making turns feel much more natural and smooth with much less pulling. I am very happy with the service and will be bringing my car back for other services as well.

Horrible experience went for oil change they took one of my rear tires off then tried to tell me my rear shocks are leaking, I told them whe I checked car in that I just got tires and brakes at one of they other locations so no need to check the brakes or tires. I came in for a tire. I relayed the price quote I'd gotten elsewhere. The guy at the desk agreed to match it, then informed me it would be an additional $50 because I also needed a wheel alignment. I told him I'd been to two other tire places the day before and had also had the car serviced recently at a Toyota dealer and no one else had mentioned an alignment. He stated definitively that I needed one and repeated the cost. So I went to another Mavis (East Meadow). I was hesitant to bring up the alignment issue - I was concerned they too would suddenly decide I needed one - but I wanted to be 100% sure I did not need this work done. They checked: I did not. I called back the first Mavis for an explanation. The guy who answered the phone said I must have misunderstood: It was just a SUGGESTION to CHECK the alignment. (It wasn't.) I asked to speak with the manager. A man identifying himself as the manager got on the phone. First he tried to convince me that I had called the wrong Mavis. It had actually been the Mavis down the road, he informed me. No, I replied; it was this Mavis. Next he said he had no way of knowing with which employee I had spoken since he didn't know when I had been there. So I specified the day and time I had come in. Oddly that did not appear to help him identify the employee. He continued to insist that the employee's authoritative statements that I needed this work done and the price quote for this work had been "just a suggestion." I do not trust this place and will not go there again.

Come here if you want your time wasted, money spent, and to be lied to about what you need. I know how to do my own brakes and what bad rotors look like and i closely monitor my maintenence on my car. I came in just looking for brake pads cause i didn’t have time to put them on myself. They put my car up on the lift and then stood around and chatted with each other for 30 minutes while other cars were also lifted with the wheels off. I came in trying to spend $70 and after lying to my face about what was wrong and arguing with me up and down i walked out spending $300 and completely dissatisfied. I was here for 3 hours.

If I could give a 0 star I would. We have been here 3 times with horrible wait time for simple services. I have given them multiple chances because it is near the place I reside, but they have not been able to rectify their actions. We had 2 appointments today (8 am and 11 am). We originally just had 1 at 8 am for an alignment and my fiance did not leave there until 945 am. He was left enough time to leave there to pick me up and and take me to work-I was late. He had to make another appointment because they did not realign my vehicle, instead they only put 1 tire on. So, at 11 am he went there and waited until 130 pm there. No one ever came up to us to let us know what was going on and why it was taking so long. The only reason why we had to get one more tire is to balance out that alignment-otherwise the threads of the tire will be unbalanced. I will never be coming back to Frank's. Another thing I do not like is that Frank's does not try to resolve their issues or at least respond to our reviews.

Worst oil change experience ever. I’ve been to the Mavis Discount Tire in Malvern on multiple occasions for new tires. Today, May 5th, I stoped in for an oil change on my Jeep Wrangler. In total, I sat in the lobby for 2 hours before being informed my Jeep was finished. When I arrived, I was the only person in the lobby with a few cars being serviced in the service bay. I noticed that my Jeep was removed from the service bay and parked among the other vehicles waiting to be serviced. The Manager, David, did not notice my vehicle was removed and left me sitting for another 30 minutes in the lobby. Instead of assisting me, David helped the other mechanics replace tires due to the influx of customers. While I appreciate his willingness to role up his sleeves, my patience was taken advantage of as I waited for some time before being noticed. There’s some major communication issues between the Service Techs and Managment. This impacts customers and their wait time. There’s a huge focus on tires (selling, plugging, replacing) that seems to outshine a simple oil change. To top things off. I get in my car and notice my steering wheel is covered in oil from the Service Tech. Typically, the steering wheel is cleaned off by the Service Tech given previous experiences here. Disappointed with my experience as I’ve been to this location many times. I would not recommend going here for anything beyond plugging your tire. Try PepBoys up the street.

Didn't have an issue in phoenixville but malver gets a big no. Told me for inspection it would cost 900 dollars. Visited two other places who told me same story. They lied to get money. Tried charging 50 dollars for a bulb change and said the bulb alone costs 24.99. Bought the bulb for 10 and did it myself. Also got car inspected for normal price and car is tip top. I've been here several times before, always for a tire repair (slow leak/nail in tire). They are open Saturdays and Sundays so it's the place to go when my regular garage is closed. They do an excellent and professional tire repair. In other words they remove the tire from the rim and repair it from the inside. Lots of other places want to just plug the tire which is not a good idea. They also balance the tire which is necessary but again ignored by many other shops. The price for this is ridiculously low! If the tire can't be repaired (i.e. sidewall damage) they have a large inventory so they likely have the exact same tire in stock. This is great and avoids mismatched tires or a second visit to the shop. Now for the negatives. They always want to do a general inspection of your car, including shocks and brakes. This is obviously how they make their real money. If you are not a savvy car person, you can be fooled or tricked into getting service you really do not need. For regular maintenance go to a local shop you can trust and have a relationship with, as this company is pushy. Finally the waiting times can be long, even if you make a so called appointment on line.

Add a zero star option. I made a 9:30 appointment for tires and brakes. Took car in at 9:15. I was told to expect a call by 10:00 with tire options. There was only one car ahead of me getting two new tires. No other customers in store or in garage. 2 hours later, bays were busy with other cars and mine was still sitting as I had left it. Mavis does not respect my time or business. Reminds me of Seinfeld's car reservation episode. :(

I got a second opinion from a friend who said that my breaks werent that bad and that i didn't even need rotors. I will never go back there again. Decent reception area worthy of an extra star but that's where the fun ends. Two 3+ hour waits thwere underestimated by about an hour both times I was there. The main office gave me a competitive price that this location didn't know about and didn't honor. At least one of the new wheels and tires were out of balance requiring a repeat visit. That's 6-7 hours total to get a set of wheels and tires installed properly. Needless to say, I won't be back.

Extremely disappointed with my first experience at Mavis Tires @ Riverside. Setup an appointment a week ago and was advised that my choice of tires were available for my Honda Accord. Rechecked tire availability for my car make/model on Saturday and made an appointment the following morning.Drove over 30 miles on Sunday morning for a 900am appointment. After waiting in line, was advised that the wrong size tires were ordered and was advised to come the following day to drop the car of at 10 am or choose tires that were not of my choice. I dropped the car at 10.30am and was advised that the car would be ready in 2 hours time. Checked in noon and was informed that my car had not been started on and it would be completed soon. Checked in at 400pm and was advised that my car would be coming out. When I arrived at 5:20 pm , I saw that my car was left in the same place I parked, unlocked . When I asked the staff why nothing had been done, was given an answer that there too many cases due to last weeks snow and that my car could be done in a few minutes( tire replacements and balancing). As they were about to close in 20 , said No thank you and and walked away disgusted. I believe that these guys either don't have an efficient queuing system or essentially work on preferred/select customer base and probably felt that I did not merit quality service . I will give my business to a team thats been capably handling my tire/wheel work in the past and will strongly advise my colleagues who suggested Mavis, that service was not just bad, but non existent. If i could give 0 stars for this business, i would.

The mechanics are fast, and the waiting room is comfy. There is free coffee and other drinks. I purchased tires here twice, and they were incorrectly installed both times. On both occasions the Upton employees treated me rudely when I asked for them to fix the problem. On the second occasion, they tried to charge me for the repair. When the manager finally backed down, he lied to me in an attempt to save face. I won't be back!

I went there had breaks and rotors done, kept bringing it back and calling saying it was still grinding and squealing. They kept telling me that was normal they took a look at it, said everything is fine. I kept calling over a few months saying the same thing and they assured that it was fine and it could take a long time for the squealing and ginding noises to go away. It never went away and after a year I had to have the rotors and breaks repaired. The service station said there is no way that they were done the previous year. Called to complain and they said that they were sorry for the inconvenience. Now I am hearing of others that had similar issues with breaks done there such as catching fire or needing new ones shortly after. Great for tires, but go elsewhere for break service.

This place is garbage, stay away from them. I called Saturday and spoke to someone at the call center for tires to be changed on Monday. I get there Monday and I'm told the tires aren't there and they are scheduled to arrive Tuesday instead. The idiot behind the counter then calls to see if he can get in contact with the person that helped me out from the call center. No response. He then proceeds to tell me that they did place the order for the tires to arrive that Monday but that the shuttle is late. He also tells me that even if the tires arrive later on, he wouldn't be able to change them because they are "understaffed." A huge inconvenience, look elsewhere to change your tires

DO NOT BRING YOUR VEHICLE HERE. We were told to make an appointment for $10 off our total. Our appointment was at 10:30, we showed up at 10:25. We were told when we made our appointment they had the tires. We were told when we got here that two tires had to be driven over from Brandon, but it was no problem. It is now almost noon, and an employee came to ask us where we live because they were going to have to take us home. When we asked why he proceded to tell us that somebody would have to drive to Brandon to pick up the tires. We we were told an hour and a half ago that the tires were on their way. I would give this place no stars if it were possible.

Been going here for tires for years with no complaints until I had them replace my brakes/shocks/struts. A few months after the work was completed I had my NY State Inspection done at their Port Chester location, the mechanic told me I had a bad rear strut, I informed him that I had just had them replaced at the Mavis in Greenwich and I assumed the work would be covered under their warranty. He told me they didn't have any in-stock so he wouldn't be able to replace it. The next week I took the car into the Greenwich location and told them what I had been told by the Port Chester location, that I had a defective strut, the mechanic in Greenwich informed me the strut was fine. I was hesitant, but having never had an issue with Mavis in the past I took his word for it. Several months later I noticed that the tire connected to the allegedly-defunct strut began to wear unevenly. I took the car to a different shop and they informed me both rear struts were bad. I trust Mavis with my tires but it seems they installed defective struts and lied to avoid replacing them under warranty. I paid a different shop to replace them and will not be returning to Mavis.

My family has been using Mavis Discount Tire for years, however I was extremely disgusted with my recent experience. I purchased four new tires for my pickup truck. Upon completion of the installation, I paid almost $1,000 for the four tires, balance of four tires, and a $79 wheel alignment. After I paid in full for everything, I asked for the spec sheet of the wheel alignment. The guy goes in the back, comes back and says, "We forgot to do the wheel alignment". They surely didn't forget to charge me for a wheel alignment! If I didn't ask for the spec sheet, they were going to let me leave after paying for a wheel alignment and not getting one, and my brand new $1000 tires would get worn unevenly. It makes me wonder how often they charge for a wheel alignment and "forget" to do it. I then waited for them to complete the alignment. Secondly, the tires that were previously on my truck I had asked them to save so that I can reuse them in the spring. Once I got home, I realized my spring/summer set of tires were completely butchered while Mavis dismounted them. (See uploaded picture) Now they are completely unusable. How can a tire shop not know how to dismount a tire without damaging it? Lastly, about two days after Mavis installed my tires, I took my truck on the highway. The weights on my rim (from Mavis balancing the wheels) went FLYING off the wheels when I got my truck up to about 60mph! Luckily they didn't hit anybody or any other cars. I took my truck back to Mavis right away and spent another two hours in their waiting room. They replace the "clip on" wheel weights with "glue on" wheel weights. I drove on the highway two days later, and some of the "glue on" weights fell off too! Now my steering wheel shakes every time I go on the highway because my wheels are not balanced. Now I know better, I will bring my truck to a mechanic that knows what they are doing. I will bring my truck elsewhere to have them properly balance my wheels and to replace tires in the future. I will never return to Mavis Discount Tire and I surely will never let them touch any of my vehicles in the future.

I took my M5 here to get coilovers installed. After keeping my car for the entire day they called me and admitted they didn’t have the experience to install coilovers. While this was very frustrating because I took the day off Walter was gracious enough to offer a complimentary alignment once I had the coilovers installed elsewhere. I took him up on the offer and brought my car back a few weeks later. They were unable to adjust the camber due to the drop but adjusted the toe. A few hours after getting home (i live 2 minutes from there) I noticed deep scratches 6-12” long on every fender above each tire that we’re the result of these guys attempting to align the car. I knew when I was observing from afar that they “tech” was being very rough but now I have to have all 4 panels completely repainted which is costing more than the coilovers plus install. Not sure what to say but on a brand new car I beyond upset.

Today it was very rainy. In my travels, I ran over something that split my rear tire. I was on I-95 North and a man pointed to the tire, and I got off as soon as possible. I stopped at two gas stations but none fixes tires. One station manager told me to go to Mavis Discount Tires, 1118 Putman Ave, Riverside, Ct...it was fairly close to the gas station. Mavis agreed to put on my spare tire. Even though they were super busy, they fit my tire change into their work schedule. The manager Christopher Synder refused to charge me. They all said it was a minor fix. I will send all my friends and relatives to that store. I can't believe they did me such a good deed. Yes, I got home with no trouble.

I went for a replacement of my rear left tire valve. They removed the rear right tpms instead and when trying to replace the new valve, broke the TPMS. The 4 TPMS were working fine, because I read them often with my own OBDII reader. Now I have two problems, and I will need to pay for their mistake. They didn't acknowledge their mistake, but claim that I always needed a new whole TPMS+valve

I am so happy that I found Mavis. They have an excellent selection of tires at great prices. I called their 800# who submitted a request on my behalf to the Greenwich location and 3 hours later they were putting new tires on my car. I went there for a leaking tire. Waited over 2 hours they had my car up on the ramp and they were looking in my hood. When I asked why they had my car in the air the clerk said to patch my tire. What????? Anyhow if there was another tire shop in the neighborhood I would have gone there. I think it's ridiculous to have my car on the ramp and check my engine to fix a spare tire. Just my opinion. Praying to God that I never get a flat in that neighborhood again.

Came to Mavis for a diagnostic on why my front right tire which was wearing excessively on the outside. Was told the alignment was good but the reason for the tire wear was a bad control arm and linkage. The manager was very accommodative on pricing and even agreed to my request of only OEM parts. While there I told manager that I wasn't happy with a high pitched squeak coming from the front brakes which Mavis did about a year ago. At no cost the manager said he would replace the rotors and pads. Thank you for a great experience

I would have given this place a zero. But they did manage to get a single tire installed. I pull in and have flat. Tires have 21k on them and told tire needed to be replaced. I am in rush so they give me option of 1 tire and tell me within 30 mins. A less expensive tire would take an hour to get to store. In rush so take tire that is $60 more ($248 total). At 9:20 4 bays empty. It took them an hour and 55 mins to install a single tire. I complained that I was told 30 mins...if I knew real time I would have went somewhere else....or waited the hr for cheaper tire. Answer...we can't control installation time. Are you kidding me. How about the truth!!! That you can control!!! STAY CLEAR OF THIS PLACE!!!!

If I could have given zero stars I would have. I would never refer anyone to Mavis Tire New Hyde Park Jericho Turnpike. I had four tires replaced in March 2017 paid for alignment and was told everything was checked. In July 2017 front tires were worn to the chords. I brought it back and was told it would cost over another $680 dollars for two more tires wheel alignment and now struts. When I told Kurt I was not happy with paying for another alignment and tires, he starts yelling at me. VERY UNPROFESSIONAL. He ended up charging me for two new tires, labor and wheel balance again even though I paid extra for extended warranty the first time. HORRIBLE MANAGER. I will never go there again.

EXTREMELY DISHONEST BUSINESS PRACTICE AND BAD CUSTOMER SERVICE!!! The manager forced me into buying something my car didn’t need. The work was also not done right. I brought my car into this Mavis shop to change my front brake pads on 10/13/15. The manager checked my car and insisted all four brake pads and all four brake rotors are terribly bad and not safe. My rear brake pads and brake rotors were changed brand new a year ago at another Mavis Discount Tire shop (ironically) located at 275 Franklin Ave, Franklin Square, NY 11010 and only had a couple of thousand miles on them (Mavis has all the records in their system). It is normally agreed by auto repair industry that brake pads shall last 30k-50k miles and rotors shall last three times longer than the brake pads. There is no way that the rotors and brakes can be “completely worn out” after several thousand miles. The front rotors looked good as well. I doubted the rotors and rear brakes were bad as he said. But he insisted and forced me into buying them. He didn’t even give me any option to choose from. I was not wise enough at the shop and said ok. I had another mechanic look at my car and he said it is completely not possible that the brakes and rotors were worn out after thousands of miles. I called to ask my parts back for an inspection on the same day but they were closed. I called again next morning (10/14/15), but they said they already threw everything out. In addition, this shop over charged me for the rotors compared to the last Mavis shop at 275 Franklin Ave, Franklin Square, NY 11010. My final bill was $347.57. What I needed was only the front brake pads that were worth $59.99. It is almost certain that the other parts he forced to sell to me were completely unnecessary. Moreover, my rear brakes had no problem at all before. However, after they changed new rotors, I can often hear slight metallic grating noise from my rear brake. I brought the car back but the manager insisted there was no problem.

Also went to inspect my tire cause if a slow leake was told everything was fine, half an hour later my tire was low. Either the employees need to be trained or they just dont care to provide quality service for the price thats being charged. Also was turned away the second time i returned due to lack of professionalism. Management really needs to reevaluate their employees. Gave one star cause there was no other option. I had a great experience. The store manager is a bit curt, but is also quick with a joke and treated me very fairly. My car was making a loud squealing noise from the wheels, and since the dealer shop was full I stopped in here. My car was taken in immediately, and they found the problem--a bent dust guard, which they fixed. I also had a slow leak in a tire from a small nail, which they fixed promptly. I was only charged for the tire, as the bent guard was fixed in no time they didn't charge for it. I was in and out of there in 20 minutes, and I would definitely go back. Thanks guys!

Came to buy three tires; took 40 minutes to be told they are not currently available; but will be at the store the next day. When I came to pickup my tires, I was shocked to find an additional fee ontop of the cost of the tire. There was a $20 per tire fee added for 'stocking'. I could have paid $20 to have the tires shipped to my repair shop, or pay $20 to pick them up myself. This cost was not explained to me when I ordered the tires, and I even confirmed the cost of each tire before I left at $94/tire. Made me realize the name is exactly what this place is. Discount Tires because there are dozens of other fees that are added on to make the total cost the same as other big box retailers. Will not use again because of unethical fees and inability to explain the fee. I had several phone calls with customer support and was told the fee is for overhead and to get the tires into the store. No other store I have been to have added an overhead fee, that should be included in the cost of the tire. I effectively paid $60 to pick up tires from a tire distributor. If this is the way businesses are going, soon there is going to be a $10/bag fee at the grocery store.

I had a leak in one of my tires so I called Mavis of edison to see if I can come around 7:30 pm on a Thursday to get it fixed. The guy on the phone said no problem and come by. The one star is for the technical experience at Mavis. Took my car here after hitting a pothole that popped a tire and bent two of my rims. Replaced all four tires, paid for balance, alignment, and for them to straighten the two bent rims. After the service, car still was still shaking at 55+. Took it back. Mario in the shop was extremely dismissive, telling me that the car wasn't shaking, that he drove it himself and it wasn't shaking (not surprising when he only took it on a side street), and that the machine doesn't show it shaking and "All I know is what the machine tells me." Had to take it to another far more professional wheel place with newer equipment. Both rims were still bent and the other wheel shop said it was one of the worst balances they have ever seen on a car. I will say that both Sean and Cesar who work at the front desk were helpful. After complaining to Mavis HQ, Cesar had me come back in and I was refunded the cost I spent at the second wheel shop to fix what Mavis should have fixed. However, them making it right unfortunately won't get me the hours back I spent at this shop and the other one trying to get it fixed and this shop's old equipment/unknowledgeable techs. Go somewhere else.

I took my car inspection, and it's few years old Lexus sports. They failed my saying I have to do many things one example was air filter change. I ask to see the filter and it was not bad at all. I asked the guy and he got mad saying why don't I do everything myself since I am questioning mechanics. I was about to leave, and the car had engine lights on, which it didn't have before. I asked him and he did something that took care of it. The worst was I started driving and my car started blinking some lights with some noise I was so afraid to get home. I went to STS on Ethel Road in Piscataway and I told them every time I break that a hear a squeaking noise. I know my car and I knew it had to do with my breaks but they told me no. They stated my transmission was going bad. I said no way I have a 2013 Nissan . So they referred me to a place in East Brunswick. It was a transmission place they looked at my car and said it was indeed my brakes. STS staff have no clue what they are doing or what they are saying how did a break noise become a transmission going bad. I thank god it was truly only my breaks and I will never go to them again.

Came here to get my ABS fixed. They did fix my ABS problem, but my side mirror was pointed skyward which is odd since I never move my mirrors. The next day I came outside to find that the seals around the mirror had somehow been damaged and water had gotten inside my mirror and fogged it up. I had never had that problem before. When I brought it back to complain, Mark came out and told me that it was an old car and 'these things happen'. He assured me in the most condescending tones that it was not their fault. I have never been talked to like that in my life. I will never come here again. The prices were also ridiculous.

I had an awful experience at this Mavis location this year and vowed to never return. Today I found out even more information that encouraged me to write this review. I visited this location in March of 2017 to have my snow tires dismounted and my all-season stock tires put back on. I also paid for an alignment, and dropped my car off for an entire day. When I picked up the car, the alignment was noticeably off. I spoke to a manager who then said that their only alignment technician was out sick, but I was still charged for the alignment. I went back a second time the following week and they claimed the alignment was done, but never gave me a spec sheet. I felt the alignment was still off and had it done by a dealership. I had contacted my credit card company and stopped payment on the Mavis alignment charge, promising myself I would not return. Additionally, Mavis did not return my second set of lug nuts. When I called to ask about them the manager blatantly told me they lost them. He was unapologetic and nonchalant. Today I went to Town Fair Tire to have my winter wheels and tires put back on. Town Fair pointed out that two of my lug nuts were overtightened and stripped from their studs. Now I have two broken studs on two wheels and I need to visit a mechanic to pay nearly $200 for them to be replaced. Avoid this Mavis location at all costs. They are rude, unprofessional, and will mess up your tires and wheels. Completely unacceptable!

Please read this entire review! I went to this Mavis on 7/7/19 for break pad changes because it was the only place I could find a 9:30 AM appt on a Sunday. I live in Riverside and made the mistake of telling Mavis I would leave the car, but that I needed it for a trip to Md that night at 5. After going back several times throughout the day, they finally got it on the lift at about 3:00pm. I was told in addition to the break pads that my back driver's back break caliper needed to be replaced? I resisted, (I didn't believe mechanic) but finally agreed to change it. (I'm still not convinced I even needed to change the caliper) I was told I would be called when it was ready before 5pm and was never called. I got back to shop at 455 in a panic and the car was still on lift. At about 5:20 pm they finished. (2 people remained - shop closed at 5!) I paid $619.00 and drove down to Md with my 15 year old son. About half way down to Md, I felt that my breaks were a little mushy and not working properly. I was livid and I carefully drove the rest of the way to my destination and I couldn't believe my breaks weren't working properly. What I didn't know is that the caliper that was replaced had completely fallen off and was hanging by the hose! I spent the next day in Md, inconvenienced and getting the caliper fixed. The bill was $380 for the additional service. I was told that had the caliper piston popped off, I would have lost breaks completely and that I was EXTREMELY lucky that a tragedy was avoided! Crazy! After bringing this up with Mavis when I got back home a few days later and a lot of going back and forth, I was finally offered on 8/23/19, ONLY the $380.00 to pay for the extra work done in Md and a voucher for future work. Clearly I didn't want the voucher for future work! More than the money, my bigger concern is the safety policy of this Mavis operation. NOTHING was discussed as to how they were going to investigate this incident or fix it so that it wouldn't happen again. Obviously use this Mavis location at your own risk. I found the customer service to be terrible on the day of service and the fact that they put my son and me in a life threatening situation and offered to only pay for the extra work was really unbelievable. No consideration for my time and aggravation the next day and also for putting our lives in jeopardy. Their customer service was terrible on the day I was there and clearly they were rushed at end and didn't even tighten the caliper at 520 when finished. The regional manager, John Fowkes, was helpful in the process as far as communication, but always used his boss (never got a name) as the one making the decision on reimbursing me for my Md bill only and nothing else. I'd stay away from this service station. As many of the other reviews indicate, they have a customer service issue, and according to my experience, they have a safety issue, which is even more alarming. Please choose your mechanic wisely. This was really a scary situation and one that was handled completely inappropriately. They NEVER even apologized for their dangerous work! Here are a few of the pictures I took. Had my rear tires replaced two years ago. Went to back to have front tires replaced . What a mistake that was. I saw the negative reviews but paid no attention to them. Place is understaffed. Not one knows exactly what is going on. They made me come back twice. 2nd time after I paid for two new truck tires and balancing. I went to my truck just to realized I still had my old tires. What a waste of F..ing time these people are. Got a refund and got right out. Do yourself a favor if you value your time avoid this place.

Been using Mavis for brakes, struts and tires for almost 38 years and have always been very happy with both price and service. As I’ve gotten older my tastes in vehicles has gotten more and more expensive.....even though this last purchase has broken six figures, I still trust this particular Mavis shop. The interior is very light in color and I was worried it may get dirty or stained. Hey accidents happen. However my worries were for naught as they covered the seat and when all was said and done, my car was clean as ever and they did a phenomenal job, as always, with mounting and balancing all my wheels/tires.

This place doesn't even deserve one star. It is awful. They told me they had the tires in stock. I went down and was willing to wait the hour or so. I sat down and waited about 54 minutes and they called me over and said actually the tires were not in stock. The computer said they were there, but it took them forever to just go look. They said they called every other one of the mavis stores and also they called the warehouse and said nobody had them in stock. I suggested they call Michelin. They promised they would and would call me back. This was five days ago and NOTHING. two days ago I had lunch with a co-worker who told me he ordered tires from the same store. They told him they would call him back and they never did. He told me he went to another local tire store and they beat the mavis' price by 15%, ordered the tires, AND even called him back. Astonishing! So having heard nothing, I called a couple of other stores. Firestone in Stamford beat their price and the tires are being put on today. And this store is not even a Michelin dealer. Mavis really sucks! And of course the worst thing was they made me wait almost an hour at lunchtime for NOTHING! the worst.

Mavis was good a few years ago. I loved them in the past. Now this branch just wants to rip people off. I think they work on a different commission structure now. I dropped my car off for a tire change. They did work without asking. And they didn’t do work I asked them to do, like change windshield wipers. Then, when my wife went to pick up the car, they asked her if she wanted brake fluid changed. She said yes without checking with me. I sincerely thing when a woman goes in they treat them differently then men. I did not need the brake fluid changed. SECOND GUESS EVERYTHING THESE FOLKS TELL YOU. BUYER BEWARE. Came a month ago left my car for 5 hours when I dropped it off they told me it will be ready at 1, came at 2pm and they hadn't even look at the car, guy at the desk tells me it will be another hour that they will put it in the lift, guy comes back and tells me they can't do the change cause I didn't have the key for the rims! Mind you I have a 8am apt. Another guy tell me to get the key and that he will personally will take care of the car when I bring it back. Try #2 had an 8am apt told the guy I was going to wait for the car, it's 10am and my car is still in the lot no one has touched the car at this point. I asked the rude guy in the counter how much longer it was going to take as I have been waiting for 2 hours already, tell me the car is going to be brought it now, come back out 20 mins later tells me I need rotors I'm like no I just want the breaks done he tells me in a very rude tone of if its about the money he can take some extra money off and again I said no I just want the breaks gives me an attitude and starts talking crap as he walks away. 3.15 hours into waiting rude man cames back out and tells me they had to order the breaks cause they didn't have them here, I said to him I have been waiting for 3 hours now and his response oh well walks away and shrugs his shoulders and did a whatever hand gesture! 1. Horrible customer service 2. What's the point of having apts? 3. Overall horrible

Took my car in for a routine oil change. The vehicle had about $35k miles on it. While I waited, I had 3 techs (including the manager) come try to upsell me on services that I didn't actually need that would've cost me in excess of $250 extra. I'm no mechanic, but I'm not the idiot they took me for. Will not return and I urge everyone else to look elsewhere as well.

Maybe an ok place to have tires mounted on a “regular” car. I wouldn’t use Mavis for anything too complicated. Case in point. I brought mavis 4 classic car wheels with new tires to mount. Mavis doesn’t carry this special type of tire- I bought it from Coker Tire (a great place to buy tires). These wheels had tubes in them. The tubes were all gone. Holding air. Mavis caked me a few days later asking me to bring more tubes; they said the original ones had “holes”. I don’t this this was true; maybe one had a hole. Maybe. The others were fine. I brought them an extra set of tubes- 4. They went ahead and mounted the tires without any tubes. I suspect because they don’t know how- evidenced by the fact that they put holes in the original tubes (probably with a crowbar or something trying to get the old tires off). The tubes cost $35 each and they never offered to make me whole for my losses. I asked to see the original Tubes and they said they threw them away. Again, maybe an ok place for regular mounts but classic car owners should stay away. I’ll repost this on yelp and all the classic car message boards. Thank you.

Don’t go here the reviews are accurate. I had a flat tire and the guy recommended me to change 3 tires cause the others were starting to wear out. Only one was perfectly fine (remember that). I only had money to change 2 and i had to come back the next day to pick it up. The day of they called me about a wheel alignment which sounded off cause i had gotten one recently. I somehow caved into getting the alignment and when i went to pick up the car the one tire that was perfectly fine before somehow had low tire pressure and after refilling the tire it went Back down so safe to say they only care about making money and will do shameful things for you to go back to them

Don't ever come to this facility. Rude and highly incompetent personnel. Last Saturday I let them change the oil on my Chevy Cruze. After 40/50 miles I saw smoke coming out of the hood. I stopped the car and when I open the hood I saw oil coming out of the engine because there was no cap!!!They forgot to replace the oil cap after oil change!!!!!!! After I towed the car back to them, at first they didn't even know how to deal with the problem. So they kept the car (and gave me a courtesy car). After few hours they declared that the car was "perfect" and that they did not encounter any engine issues... they asked me to return the courtesy car ASAP and I was at my office in Brooklyn!!!! I complained about that and they told me that the already were too kind to me!! Can you believe it???? So I manage to return the car the day after (yesterday) Today, after 2 days and 50 miles, I got the "check engine light" and a very loud thicking noise coming from the engine. Tomorrow I'll come back and they better know how to deal with it. Meanwhile, stay away from it folks.

I went to STS Tire in Edison for an oil change. That went fine, but they tried to sell me a crankcase flush "because my oil looked sludgy". This would have cost me an additional $60. I said no - I'd never heard of a crankcase flush - and it turns out it was probably unnecessary, benefitting STS' bottom line but offering little or no benefit to my car.

This is probably the worst experience I’ve had at a car place ever. I was prepared to wait awhile since it is Saturday. I called before I came in and they said there was a “lull” and only three cars there. I got in my car and was there within 15 minutes. The girl working the desk helped me settle on what tires I needed (2) and I needed an alignment. It took 30-45 mins for my car to go back. Once it did go back it was two solid hours before I finally asked them what was taking so long. They said my car was next to get an alignment. Nobody up to this point had given me any sort of update. Another hour passed and I finally had enough. I was extremely frank with Frank’s employees that I have waited THREE SOLID HOURS for my car and still no sign of it. A lot of people who got there a long time after me had left long before me. He had nothing to say and no apology. Just that “one of the alignment machines was broken”. I just wish SOMEONE HAD UPDATED ME. I let them know how upset and over it I was. Finally my car magically appears and I insisted on a discount. He ended up only charging me the tire disposal fee and a little bit of tax so I feel they made it right in the end. When I got home I realized they had given me two different size tires. One a 225 (which is correct) and one a 215. I’m so over these people to even go back and have it corrected.

Not too happy with my experience here. I went in and asked for Goodyear tires because of the rebates and was asked to leave a $100 deposit, with the tires coming in the next day. I mentioned I would need work to be completed the next day because I was leave the city. The manager makes me get the Goodyear credit card to double the rebates. The next day I show up and am told the tires are not yet here, and my only option was to buy worse or better tires. Ended up spending $200 more than I wanted to, not getting any rebates, and now I have a good year credit card that I probably won't use again. You have to come back after the first 25 miles on your tires to check the nuts and lugs. The mechanic who check didn't bother putting back the wheel rim covers back on correctly and I had to do that myself. Not sure if he checked the nuts and lugs well enough if he left the cover in such a condition.

If I could give them NO rating, I would, but the least you can give for this post to work is a 1 star. Called in advance and made appt. for our car to have oil change and tires rotated. My daughter took her car in on a Saturday morning and still had to wait for 1-1/2 hours even with an appt. I always mark the tires so I can check to see if they were rotated and before she went back to college, I checked her tires and low and behold, they were never rotated!!! Was ticked since she hadn't had done since November since she doesn't get home often from college so they really needed to be rotated. I called that Monday to talk to the manager and he wasn't there. Talked to the assistant manager, Tyler and asked what work was listed for her appt., was definitely for an oil change and tires rotated. Told him it never got done and why I knew they weren't done. He said he would talk to the service manager and they would see what tech worked on our car. Wasn't like it was a big deal! Didn't care for his response of lack of concern so asked to speak to the owner, he said he was out and would be in the next day. Told him to have the owner call me of which he said he would. NEVER heard back from the assistant manager or the owner!!! Talk about slack, and we've been going there for 10+ years with 4 of our cars, purchased tires from them many times and always been a loyal customer. Course they haven't owned Frank's long cause they were bought out not too long ago and shortly after, the guys we used to love to deal with were no longer working there, prices went up and you can see for yourself from what happened to us that the service is now lacking not to mention the extra wear and tear my daughters tires are getting now that they never got rotated!! Really sucks when you pay good money and don't get good service!!!! Been almost 3 weeks now and have still heard nothing from them!!!!

I took my girlfriends car in for new tires and they stole her rims. She had beautiful 18inch rims on her car which retail at $275 each and they stole them. We dropped off the car around 11:45am which the manager told us it would be done no less than 2 hours. He had my phone number in the system and he never called me once the car was done. When I arrived the rims looked like hubcaps (plastic). I called him out on it and he kept saying they didn't steal them. When I asked him to show me the surveillance cameras he said they stopped working because of the storm. He keep talking to someone on the phone about the footage so I called the cops. once they arrived he only showed us the installation of the wheels. The cops weren't much help either. If you have nice rims PREPARE TO BE ROBBED.

I had a very bad experience with tire engineers. After I had my control arm replaced on my Dodge pickup. I brought it in for alignment because I was eating up my tires on the outside. It took them forever to do the "alignment". After they finally got done the pickup was pulling to the left and making funny noises when I hit potholes. It turned out they left all the nuts loose on the control arm, not caring what kind of damage that could do. I guess I have to do the alignment myself again...without computer and negligent people who don't know what they are doing. At least I know it's done right. Thank you for the rip off.

Highly recommended. Replaced front and rear brakes and rotors on a MB. Took me the same day I called, and the mgr Walter promised it would be done by 6PM. The car was done at 6 sharp. I went to Firestone in Stamford 3 times because every 3 weeks the same tire was losing air. The last time I went, they said "there is nothing wrong with the tire". Before I got in the car at the last visit, I checked the air in the tires because the psi usually varies from tire to tire by at least 3-7 lbs every time after they fill them. Nope it's almost never the same on any two tires e.g. 28, 32, 35, 31. The last time they filled the tires on my Civic all of them were the same, but they were ALL 42 lbs psi, way too much! REALLY!! Someone needed to do that?!!! The sensor light came on again and that was the final straw. I called Firestone's manager, (never raised my voice) and told him about the 3 visits, that I had to put 20 lbs of air in the tire that morning, and the unecessary 42 lbs psi, who then said "well, if you have any questions, give us a call". I wasn't complaining about the tire, but the service, (lack of). Enough of that nonsense. I went to Mavis and from the beginning, there was a very different attitude, professionalism! They found the problem and fixed the valve. They filled my tires correctly. I know because I checked. I would highly recommend Mavis in Riverside, CT!

The worst service I have ever experienced in a car shop. Just keep in mind that I have never written a review because I have never been so unsatisfied. So here are the 3 reasons. Came in to change pads and rotors. Arrived at 8:15am (they open at 8am) with very few cars on the lot. They only lifted my car around 11:15am. And I only left the shop with my car at 2pm (almost 6 hours later). No one, at no point during those almost 6 hours had the courtesy of keeping me updated on the waiting time. On top of everything, although I left the shop with new brake pads and rotors, I also left with a nonfunctional emergency/parking brake, which by the way was fully functional prior to their work, making it another mistake on their end. This led into me having to go back again the day after (more hours wasted waiting). So you may think that at least I paid the lowest price for the service and parts. NEGATIVE. I had the same service done before on a similar car and paid almost $200 less and had the service (including waiting time) done in about 1 hour and a half. So they pretty much failed on every category that defines a good business model. UNACCEPTABLE. Not to leave an entire negative review I will say that the staff was friendly and the shop’s waiting room was clean and family friendly.

Let me first say that I was a long-time customer until today. In fact, according to my finance tracking app, I have spent $2,814 over the course of nine visits on my family's three vehicles since 1/1/2013. As such, I am very familiar with Upton Tire Pros in Flowood. This morning started like a normal visit, and all that was requested was an oil change. However, I got "the call" around 9 a.m. and the technician stated that my tires were worn and I really needed new tires. According to him, the back tires were worse than the front, but both were in bad shape. What the tech didn't know, apparently, was that I actually bought tires FROM THEM for that exact vehicle approximately 20 months ago and they only have 23k miles on them. He then asked me if I had properly rotated them, which I have and had the dates on my phone to prove it. He seemed a little shocked that I actually had exact purchase and usage info on my phone. I expressed concern that if I did, in fact, actually need new tires, it spoke extremely poorly of the quality of the tires they originally sold me. He said he would research and call me back... When he called back a few minutes later, he stated that the tires I bought (for ~$1,400 less than 2 years ago) actually had NO mileage warranty and they should last roughly 20k-30k miles. Furthermore, after additional inspection he stated that I could probably get another 5k miles on the back tires and 10k additional miles on the front tires. So, from my perspective it seemed as though when I was going to be responsible for replacing the tires they needed replacement, but when Upton may possibly have some measure of liability for selling inferior products, all of a sudden the tires didn't look so bad as first thought. In my opinion, this represented a deceptive practice that I found unacceptable. The tech said he needed to talk to the manager, and after he did they offered to sell me two new tires for the back along with a whopping $100 discount for a mere $550. This was an insult to me. With three cars, and based upon my purchases over the last 2.5 years, my family spends approximately $1,125 per year at Upton, which would have equated to $22,500 over the next twenty years if they had only stood by their products. When I picked up my vehicle this afternoon, I gave the manager one more opportunity to salvage this business relationship and make things right by standing by the inferior tires they sold me previously, and he declined. In fact, he stated that the tires should have only gotten between 18k and 30k miles —- really? I was amazed at how rapidly the expected life of their products declined as the day progressed. Long story short they lost a valuable customer today. IMPORTANT NOTE: I am NOT telling folks not to do business with Upton Tires —- When everything goes okay, they are good folks. However, when things don't, they do not stand by their products.

I have a 2005 Monte Carlo that I had some slack in the steering. I did research and called 6 other shops before making a horrible decision to take it here. I have heard nothing but good things from this place. I called them and they were understanding and kind. But don't let this kindness fool you. They tell you that they have plenty of time to work on your car. I took my vehicle to them on a Monday. Once again they were very nice and greeted me. It did make a good impression unfourtantly it was fake. I proceded on with my Monday expecting a call from them. Never heard back from them so I called the, around 4 or 5. They told me that it hasent been pulled in the shop. That was no biggie. I am not a very pushy person. I will let someone take their time as long as I know its done right. Tuesday rolls around and I didn't here from them buy lunch so I called them. Again they told me that it was just getting pulled in. Four hours later I had to call them again to be told that I have a bad rack and pinion and need lower control arms. Having no background with shops(usually do the work my self) they quoted me right around 1500. Once again no biggie. I only wanted to move forward with the new rtack and pinion. Which cost me 700. They inform me they would have to get the part from the auto store and wouldn't be able to start on it until tomorrow, Wednesday. Once again that was ok with me. They also told me that it would be done around 1pm. Wednesday around 2 I still hadn't heard from them. I call and they haven't even started on it. Ok really now im starting to get mad. I told her that my car needed to be done tonight and this is where it started. She starting getting really snotty with me and even my dad. From here on any interactions, person or phone, she had a very bad attitude. Props to the guy who stayed till 8 or 9pmorking on my car to get it done. I got new tires put on also. I left the parking lot and kept hearing a weird noise ,like something was getting knocked around. I drove home and kept hearing weird noises. At one point I lost all power steering. I made sure there was fluid in the reservoir. the fluid was black and it supposed to be clear. I dropped it off and fixed everything related to the steering. Keep in mind this is 4 o'clock on Thursday. It was still making the noise so I brought it back Friday and put a penny on top of my tire, ( to see if it was even moved). they call me finally and tell me that its my control arms and wont go away till I replace them. I declined because I know that noise wasn't coming from the control arm. I get there and the penny wasn't even off the tire. They didn't even touch my car!! I was mad when I went to go grab my keys. I told her thanks for messing my car up and she popped back, "Your Welcome!" Really!! I finally figured out the noise there was a big piece of plastic in my rim and tire!!! DID THEY DO THIS ON PURPOSE!! Who knows. Long lesson is to never come here unless your not getting your car worked on. IT is just sad they wouldn't do anything either.

My experience below: 1-I went there to get 4 new tires, they also changed front axel as they claimed it is leaking. I agreed 2-After two months, axel started to make loud noise when changing gear, brought the car back, after 2 sessions, they replaced the axel and charged me the man hour (part had warranty). But multiple warning lights were on in dashboard, they said didn't have the part and I should bring the car back 3-I took the car one more time but they did not touch it from morning to evening. Took the car to another repair shop and spent extra $400 to have this ordeal done

Apparently, appointments don't matter. Had a terrible experience here recently! Had an appointment for a new set of tires at 9:30 am and didn't leave until 1:45. On a week day, this should not have been an issue. I made the appointment 5 days earlier online, picked out the specific tires and everything. I get there and 2 hours after my appointment they tell me they only have 3 of the tires. If they had let me know I could have picked a similar tire where they had all 4 just to save time- it doesn't matter all that much. The Mavis Tire Engineers inventory system and management is piss poor. They had several times to verify the order- when I placed the order and either the day before my appointment or the morning of. NOT after you've put 3 of the tires on my car and I had no choice. So they tell me another store is bringing the tire and I wait another hour before I start getting angry and confrontational. Turns out the other store was NOT bringing the tire and the employee had to go and get the tire. I missed another appointment I had at 1:30 for this? No discount was offered, no bottle of water was offered, no snack was offered. Like another reviewer, I had been coming to this location since it was called Upton. I purposely passed over the Brandon location because I used to come to flowood when I lived closer to this one. I should have just gone with Sam's club or even walmart. We literally have SO many options for tires. Standard, run of the mill apology is not accepted! Not when I'm spending hundreds of dollars. DO NOT COME HERE.

A truly terrible repair shop. I picked up a nail in my tire yesterday. I called Mavis. They told me to come right in. When I got there the place was mobbed. I have been a customer for years but new management is now running the place.The service manager said the idiots who answer the phone are not on site but in some windowless room somewhere. I offer to leave the car or come back another time. He walks me out in the lot and says a guy will fix it before going to lunch and I should slip him $20. The repair guy comes out with a stick in plug. I asked him if a proper repair should include removing the tire, inspecting for damage, and patching from the inside. He says Mavis always does it this way and stuffs my $20 into his jeans. When I get home I call 3 other Mavis Tire Centers and they all say a tire with 14,000 miles on a car still under warranty should never be repaired in this manner. I return to the shop. The manager apologies and says they they will do a proper repair. I leave the car and walk home 2 miles in 90 degree heat. I call 3 hours later and am told the car is being worked on and they will call me. They never call. I return for the car and they have done nothing at all. The manager says the service manager says it is fine as is. Of course this isn't true. The tire warranty is now void and the tire is unsafe. Never go there. They quite simply lie, cheat, and steal. Just to be fair to Mavis I sent them an email and they assigned me the following. "Thank you for submitting your request. A new Customer Service Ticket has been created for you." Now of course that is the last I heard from them but I do have a nice number that I get to keep as a souvenir. Thankfully Town Fair Tire took incredible care of me. For less than $10 bucks they removed the tire fixed it from the inside properly and re balanced the wheel. A grateful $5 tip to the counter guy and $5 more to the repair man and the job is done right. You would have to be an idiot to go to Mavis, I was, never again.

It took them three hours to install two tires and change my oil. They automatically charged me for rotation without discussing it first. They scratched up my door leaving very apparent white marks. The manager did buff them out, but claimed the cameras showed it wasn't their fault. However his word is suspect to me as he also told me that the lugnut which his mechanic stripped happens all the time due to the edges of the metal getting weak over time which is total BS.

Ok waiting room with coffee and a TV. Undesirable staff and high prices. After spending about $860 on some new tires and paying for some stripped lug nuts it was closing time and they could not complete the last lug nut replacement for some reason. I was charged for this but it was never completed. I went back when I had time a month or two later and a young blonde guy accused me of breaking it myself, and said that I wanted them to fix it "for free". He was very rude, and with staff like this I don't see myself going there again. They ended up fixing the stripped lug nut after arguing with him for 20 minutes and him pulling up the receipt and seeing that I was charged for it and that matched my story. He rudely handed me off to another person with out any explanation or apology and went on to hustle some old lady for $900 + for spark plugs, wires and a fuel system clean. I like my new tires, but next time I'll have the same tires put on at a different shop.

Called at 4:50 pm and the car was not yet in the bay. After 6pm now and still waiting. One other hint ... get a price before walking in. Check out their website as well for better deals. I found an unauthorized charge on my bill. This had happened repeatedly . Region manager who refunded the extra charge the first time. Called the Riverside Mavis on Saturday afternoon to ask if they could replace a tire that had gone flat. Called the number that shows up on Google, spoke to a man, Angelo, that was able to look up my account using my phone number and confirmed they had the tire I needed and he would put it aside for me. I showed up with the car shortly after only to be told that they would not be able to take my car in to change the tire. The man told me he was not sure who I spoke to and asked me "what do you want me to do..." I wanted them to do what I was told they would do. After leaving Riverside Mavis, I called Port Chester Mavis, the person on the phone also confirmed that they would be able to take the car in to have a look a the tire. Upon arriving, I was ONCE AGAIN told that they were not expecting me and could not take my car in. They said that the number given on Google is a corporate number and it's not actually someone at the store location answering the phone. Now if that is true, why are the people answering the phones not communicating to the store? Beyond disappointed with the customer service and the way the situation was handled at both locations.

I bought the tires for my truck here. I was pleased, and felt I received quality service. My left front tire kept getting low. I brought the truck in to have the tires rotated, and the driver's side front tire checked. My truck spent 3 hours there. I was handed a receipt, told all was done, and no leak was found. In 4 days, the same front driver's side tire was low. They did nothing that they had listed on the receipt, but put air in my tires. I brought it back, and pointed it out. No explanation was given. They say they are fixing it now. I have done business at this shop, since it was Davis Tire and Auto. However, I will take my business elsewhere, from now on. Don't lie about work you didn't do, and think I won't know. UPDATE: They did rotate my tires. It took over an hour. They still told me they could find no leak. This morning, what do you know, my tire is low. Take the tire off, and spray it with soapy water. Big surprise! It has a leak! I brought it to them because, I bought the tires from them. However, they aren't trustworthy enough to keep their maintenance agreement. It doesn't take a rocket scientist to find a leak. Hence, one can chalk this up to lazy dishonesty.

So I went here thinking the same people worked here. I had a flat so I took it here since they fix flats for free if you buy from them. Well they couldn't find anything wrong with it. They could not explain it (I was nice and did not mention that I got a new battery less than 2 years ago). I already figured they were trying to rip me off. I’m about to demand my car back a leave. I’ve been here for almost 3 hours for what they said would be a one hour appointment. Nothing unexpected or challenging. Just a lot of people standing around and not doing anything. And no updates or answers about how long it will take. They didn’t even move my car into the garage for an hour. Tried contacting customer service via Facebook who read my messages and then simply did not respond (I know because you see the “read” icon after they read). My toddler who needs to eat is not happy! I received a flyer in the mail offering most major brands attractive prices, so I took my car here since it's only a half mile from my house. My Prius came with Goodyear tires 4 years ago. They were offered with a mail-in rebate which is a practice I find extremely annoying, so I declined. I asked for Continentals instead; they only had 3 in stock. Then I asked for Michelins; they didn't have my size in stock. So I settled for Coopers, a brand I never heard of. With mounting, balancing and alignment, it cost me $605 for the four tires. They would have ordered the other brands for me, but I would have had to come back another day when the tires were delivered. I probably would have been better off taking my car to the dealer. I probably won't come back here.

Excellent service! We had a real mess. A regular tire and the spare on my daughter's Volswagon EOS were flat. Could not move the car from its location next door to the shop. The service tech dismounted the flat spare; carried both flat tires back to his shop next door; brought the new tire back to the car and mounted it. We then drove the car to the shop next door for finishing work, including the spare. Then the tech gave us a Tires101 class in proper maintenance. Her Volks has an unusual lug nut setup that requires two special tools.

Always have a great experience here! They have decent pricing and a credit card option if you need to do payments. I have never had an issue with customer service or vehicle service. Before I would bring my car into another place and a service light would come on and I would bring it to Mavis and they would say the tire pressures were over filled. So now I only go here. Your best option is to make an appointment online or call and they have fast service. Thanks guys!!!

Took 1 day to orders the tires,ship and install including wheel alignment. Great pricing from corporate which I suggest everyone contact. Beat Costco, Tire Rack and a local retailer. They have 700 locations so you will get serviced almost anywhere. My daughter and girlfriend just put on 4 spiked snow tires for the winter in upstate N.Y.. Once again a great job.

Be Warning. If you are going to wait it will be at least 4 hours. 3 different employees told me it would be a long 2 hour wait. I said as long as it's not much more than that or I can drop it off. Both the call center and the local store told me this After 2 hours my truck was still sitting out side and they said it could be 30 to 45 min untill they start on it then maybe and hour or hour and a half of work. I wasn't going to wait another 2 or 3 hours and if they lied to me 3 times why should expect they would even be done that soon. A lady I was waiting with then said yes I have been here all day. I looked at the employee and said give me my key I won't be back. Ps check your tires first, I was quoted Cooper and they were going to install a sub-company of Cooper (lower quality).
