This service center is awful. Their customer service staff is great, but their pursual to screw people over is outrageous. The first time I went here I took my car in for an oil, lube and filter and tire rotation plus getting my timing belt replaced. A few hours later after dropping it off I receive a call with a guy saying I have a cracked engine mount. I'm not certain if they thought I was gullible considering I'm a woman or what have you, but I denied having them replace it. I later took my car to Big O' Tires and had someone look at it as well as my boyfriend (he works on his car and is knowledgeable about them in general) and there wasn't any issue with any of the engine mounts. I decided to take my car in a second time to purchase four new tires with Road Hazard Protection and an alignment. This time I'm called again about an hour after dropping my car off only to hear that one of the belts needed to be replaced at around $200. Really? I was up-to-date with maintenance and knew nothing needed to be replaced other than the tires. That was the last and final strike. Consequently, I'm still not done dealing with them. I ended up getting a razor blade in one of the tires and had to have it replaced by another service center (this happened while visiting Prescott, AZ which doesn't have a Purcell it turns out). The address they had on file was different from the one I was living in at the time, so I wrote it down for someone to take note of and send it to the correct place, but that didn't happen. Supposedly it was sent in January to the previous address (I even messaged my old roommate about it and he said he received nothing, but would keep me posted). So, this happened in December of 2014 and it is April 2015 and I'm still waiting for a refund. Do yourself a favor and go elsewhere.

Finally, a honest place. In and out within 20 minutes, with a very thorough electronic reading of our car (very cool). Very clean, friendly, and welcoming vibe here. How often do you come into a store and see a CEO scrubbing down the lobby and helping customers with water and coffee. Our clerk was VERY knowledgeable and flexible as well. Best customer service we have received in the valley. Doubt we will go anywhere else from now on.

Got my Alignment done here about a month ago, I had new tires put on last week. The tires started to just shake when driving, I took it back to then to see if it was my front end getting loose again. They looked over it 4 times. The found the root cause to be the tires were not balanced right. They balanced and rotated the tires for free. I took the same truck to a different shop the day before and they said nothing was wrong with it. I will not be returning to that shop ever again. These guys went above and beyond what was required of them. They have earned my repeat business.

I brought my SUV in to check a squeaky brake and they told me my car wasn't road worthy and needed it overnight to replace the braking system and tires, ball joint fluid, and a handful of other things. They had no service ride to and from for me and my three small children. In the morning they claimed they needed special bolts from the dealership (bogus- SUV is a ford) and I was dooped into new tires in effort to keep my kids safe and needed a car that afternoon. My husband was en route out of town and took it to a mechanic and said the pads, system- everything was factory fine and the tires didn't need to be replaced and there is no such thing as ball joint fluid. These guys are crooks and liars. And the worse part is I have a warranty with them so I drive to another location where they are honest.

Great experience, was in and out! The system they have reads out the status of your tires and tells you if you need tires or an alignment or anything, and then they give you a copy so you can see yourself. I love the setup, and I will be going back. It was my first visit, but it went be the last!

My wife and I are typically Discount Tire customers. At the urging of a friend we bought a set of Goodyear tires for my wifes' Honda from Purcells in Ahwatukee a couple of months ago. My wife took her car in to the Purcells on Baseline in Mesa for a tire rotation and check. My wife was told that one of the tires was delaminating and would have to be replaced. They didn't have a unit in stock and a new tire would need to be ordered. OK, new tires will sometimes have defects but I wouldn't have expected it from Goodyear products. I was surprised when I found that Purcells wasn't going to cover this as a manufacturers defect but as a road hazard and that they were going to charge me another road hazard warranty fee. These are new tires, less that 6,000 miles. This should have been a manufacturers defect warranty. I can't recommend Discount Tire highly enough. I can't imagine something like this happening at Discount Tire. I consider this a lesson learned.

I took my truck to this location for an alignment. While on the road test after the alignment, the engine disintegrated. The engine was brand new, with only 21 miles on it, and was running great when I handed them the keys prior to the alignment. Thankfully, the warranty I have covers the engine. Unfortunately, the warranty does not cover all the other parts that were damaged when the connecting rods exited both sides of the engine block and the oil pan. Now I am out the money to replace these parts, and all the lost fluids left all over the road. Not to mention all the time and energy I spent installing the engine, and the hassle and inconvenience it has been to locate replacement parts. Purcells has little to no interest in making right this situation caused by the actions of their technician. There are several inconsistencies in his story regarding the events that took place. They won't take responsibility for damages they cause to a persons vehicle while under their care and control. My advice is to avoid this business at all costs. UPDATE: It has been over a week since the “owner” responded asking for my contact information. I contacted them through email and have heard nothing back. Looks like this response was nothing more than an empty attempt to try to show that they take customer service seriously. Even the corporate office can’t be bothered to return a phone call after I left a voice message to try to resolve this matter.

Could not be happier with the service I have received at Purcell's. I have been bringing my car here for at least two years. This business is run like you are a family member. Even the mechanics seem to know about you. I never feel cheated. I never have to bring my car back because they didn't fix something correctly. They are honest. The price is right. Garrett and Mike are both very qualified in their decisions about what I need to have done. My car has over 200,000 miles on it and is still running like a top. If I need my oil checked or have a light out they usually can check it on the spot. I couldn't recommend them more. I actually enjoy going to this shop. I highly recommend you give them a try.

Great service with an even better service manager! Long story short: I had a flat tire and first went to Discount Tire up the street. The guy at Discount Tire said I had a hole and also had issues with my sidewall and therefore would need to replace the entire tire due to safety reasons. He then quoted me over $200 for a new tire, but when I questioned the need for a new tire it magically went down to $173. I left to get a second opinion at this location. The tech was able to repair my hole and said there was NOTHING wrong with my sidewall that would necessitate the need for a brand new tire. They did this repair for me free or charge. Then, when I asked the service manager, Rick McVey, if he could run my card for $5 so I could tip his tech he told me not to worry about it. I insisted that I tip him something and then the manager pulled out his own wallet and handed me a $5 and told me to give to his tech. I told him I couldn't accept his money to tip his own employee but he insisted. I am going back there today to repay this wonderful manager. I highly recommend this place to anyone!

Tried to sell platinum plugs to my Dodge HEMI, even though dodge states that copper plugs are the only ones supposed to be used, or engine malfunction can occur. In the 2007+ Hemis you may be able to put platinums in it, but in a 2005 you cannot. Do yourself a favor and take it somewhere else where there's a service writer that knows the basics instead of trying to upsell you.

I had 2 bolts lodged into my tire and it was 4 days before payday so I took the car in. Went down to the store to grab a pack of smokes because I was stressed out - came back and they were backing my car out. It took them 10 minutes and the plugged my holes for free and said "you're good to go" I didn't have to pay a dime. So cool - def coming back here when I need new tires even if I have to pay for slightly expensive ones! hahah awesome experience.

I brought my truck in to get new tires and a front end alignment. Doug informed me that they could not do the front end alignment due to the tie rods being worn out. A lot of the quick alignment places probably would have just "done" the front end alignment and not told me about the tie rods. I would rather know about issues up front then to find out later on. I have brought several vehicles to this location in the past and the maintenance has always been excellent. I am having the tie rods replaced and the front end alignment done here as well (I know the service will be performed correctly).
