She is extremely professional and fantastic to discuss my ideas with. She gave helpful feedback on my design ideas, but also was very clear that she is a commissioned artist and will follow my wishes to the best of her ability. I felt supported through the design process. I could not be happier with the results.

I was a newbie. I appreciated the communication/timeliness/followup, the resources (before/after), cleanliness & all staff were very warm/friendly. Feedback: The art I added represents a significant investment for me. I don't drop ~$1k on anything. While I did a ton of research on artists & felt extremely confident in Lisa, a $175 deposit & committing to her hourly rate without even a sketch was nerve-wracking. It worked out great (love it!), but I don't think I'd roll the dice like that again.

She was so kind and welcoming - she made my friend so comfortable (it was her first tattoo) and she took extra time to think through my tattoo idea to come up with a cohesive design. My wife and I visited Seattle for two days as a part of a Pacific Northwest vacation, and wanted to get small pieces, inspired by our travels. After going through reviews, we found Damask to be a highly rated, well kept shop, with gorgeous, simple art work. Jenny was assigned to us and accommodated two different times from 3-4pm and 8-9pm. Jenny and the staff were extremely thorough and organized, accommodating, and sweet. Both of our concepts were drawn and ready, and the execution of our pieces was without flaw. Working with Demask was pleasant from the first day I messaged them. Responsive, professional, and timely. The studio is beautiful, and there is much wisdom here around their craft. Lisa was incredible. This was my first tattoo, and she helped me to feel safe and calm. She eased into the process on the tattoo day, and it went by like a breeze. This tattoo studio is amazing, both in designing tattoo's and making you feel comfortable in a design environment. I found out after that I booked my appointment that they are female staff, which is awesome. This was my 1st tattoo and they made me feel comfortable and seen and heard. The after care was shared in a really nice way as well. The only thing I would suggest is that you get a call in 2-3 days after asking how you are doing, healing. 5 star people and love my (now) 2 tatoos!

I talk too much, and yet when asked to describe my experience at Damask I’m truly at a loss for words. From top to bottom every single person here is not only incredibly talented at their craft but also genuinely and sincerely interested in providing the best possible experience. Other artists will routinely drop by as work is being done to ooh and aah at what their colleagues are creating, and there is a palpable air of mutual creativity between these walls. I have now worked with Ingrid (leg piece) and Lisa (sleeve) and can confidently say you won’t find a more genial bunch of folk although Lisa would kill me if I let word get out she’s super nice. I’ve worked with Lisa the longest and am truly thankful that she took such an ill defined fever dream of mine and turned it into a stunning piece of living art. While working together we talk about everything and nothing, and each visit feels like I’m seeing an old friend again after weeks apart. I’ll also be the first to admit that I have a deep dislike of needles and yet somehow Lisa keeps me engaged and focused on such important matters as “what’s happening in terrace house” and “why horses behave the way they do”. If you’re looking for the apex predators of the Seattle tattoo community, Damask is where you should be. Also big shoutouts to the desk staff who feel at this point more like family than admins. LOVE YOU ALL!

This was my first tattoo and it was easy as pie. I could tell by the smile and then intense focus that I was seeing on Jenny V's face that things were going well. It took half the time that we had planned for! Lots of the staff gathered around after it was done and oohed and aahed over the finished product. I love working with Laura at Damask! Damask itself is a wonderfully warm and inviting environment, which is so appreciated. I love tattoos, but I don't have nearly as many as anyone you'll see working there. And they are not snobby about that at all (which I feel other shops have been in the past). The artwork is beautiful, the space is clean and the fantastic use of sterile technique is definitely noticed. And, they are all great to chat with; so fun when you spend 3+ hours in a tattoo session.

I came to participate in Laura’s charity tattoo event benefiting Puget Soundkeepers — which I think is just the coolest idea!!! Laura was kind, polite, efficient, and patient. I dig my whale tail tattoo and many of my friends who have seen the result are eager to hear about the next similar event, so have started following Laura and Damask on instagram. My only tiny constructive criticism would be to maybe ask all clients if they need tattoo aftercare instructions or reminders; perhaps I didn’t receive these pointers because Laura knew I have quite a few tattoos, but it’s been a while and a refresher would have been nice. The space itself is clean, attractive, and welcoming. I’d love to come back.

Had a terrible experience here with an artist named Cassidy! I booked a few appointments for a half sleeve about 6 months in advance because she was so busy. She ended up cancelling my first appointment and then pushed back my second appointment by an hour. Finally got her to put 2 hours of work into my tattoo and then just before my third appointment she emailed me to say that she decided she didn’t want to finish it! She didn’t have a good reason either, just said that she didn’t want to do it anymore and then cancelled my other appointments. The shop also refused to give me my whole deposit back! I spoke with the shop owner Christy and the manager Irene and both of them refused to give me a good answer as to why Cassidy was cancelling and never called me back or responded to my emails when I asked for my full deposit back. This place ripped me off, and now I’m left with an unfinished outline of a tattoo! Do not go here! There are SO many other shops in the Seattle area where they won’t charge you $200 an hour for awful customer service and flakey tattoo artists that you have to book a year in advance.

The staff and other artists have always treated me kindly as well, helped me with random questions, and pointed me to useful resources (if you haven’t checked out the website, there’s so much great information there!). Damask as earned my trust and loyalty—I cannot recommend Damask enough for anyone interested in getting tattooed. As most of us experience, each tattoo is significant. I had an amazing first tattoo experience with the good folks at Damask. I had a design in mind for several years, but always found a reason NOT to follow-through - out of fear, or just not knowing where to start to research studios, artists, etc. After hearing about Damask from a friend, I felt I finally found the right place to start. I looked through all of the lovely artist portfolios, but I was not sure who might be best to make the design come to life (because although the design was quite simple, it was also very sentimental given it had served as a protective symbol of strength and guidance for me during some very challenging years). I reached out to the studio via e-mail, explaining what I was looking to do and asked for their guidance. I was put in touch with Jenny, who was the perfect match of an artist to capture exactly what I wanted the tattoo to be. I booked a consultation with her online, and upon meeting her in person she was so very kind and thoughtful, and had a warm and easy-going personality. Her knowledge of the art and the industry was so impressive, and she absolutely eased all of my worries and fears of finally getting this done. I booked the appointment for approximately 1.5 months after the consult in order to align with a special date I had in mind. On the day of, she had taken what we talked about in our consult and had created the perfect piece. She was a steady guide throughout the whole process - talking me through each moment of the actual tattooing itself. She provided easy to understand and thorough post-care instructions. Any additional questions I had pre and post tattoo were quickly answered by the lovely staff. The studio itself is beautiful and welcoming, spotlessly clean, and has a brilliant mixture of historic charm and modern day appeal (it is likely not one you have experienced prior). I am so grateful to have been recommended to Jenny and Damask as they made my first tattoo experience the best it could possibly be! Thank you!

All of their artists are clearly fantastic at what they do and so there's often a long wait between your consultation and actual tattoo appointment dates, but that's to be expected when you're working with the best artists in a city like Seattle. Sara helped me cover an old tattoo that I was no longer in love with and turned it into something stunning! I can't even tell where the old tattoo goes under the new one and I've received so many compliments already! If you're interested in watercolor style tattoos, I can't imagine finding anyone better than her. She's just the best! The shop is very female friendly, but when I was getting my work done, there were plenty of men coming in for tattoos and consults too, so don't let your masculinity be threatened by the pretty décor. If you want the best artists, you know where to come :)

I’ve debated about posting a review for months but I have properly collected my thoughts from the experience. The receptionist and my artist Laura were very nice and welcoming and my session was fine but the work turned out to be disastrous. It was not what I envisioned, the size and placement was off, way too big for my frame and the shading was too dark. Partly because of overall miss communication but also, because what a lot of the comments have mentioned, the shop being so ‘laid back’, happened to be a disadvantage to its customer. One specific account was during consultation Laura asked me a choice about color and I specifically stated a couple of times I wanted black ink. She would act disappointed and respond “well personally I like color.” The session should be about the customer, not the artist. Right before the session started, she asked me if I would considered laser options for the tissue she was about to put ink on (the tattoo is a cover-up for acne scarring). If she was asking me about other cosmetic options right before our session, it showed she was not confident in her ability to do the work I initially discussed with her and she should have respectfully declined. I trusted Laura to know what was best for my body and counted on her professionalism. After back and forth emails between the owner and Laura, after the session, I was able to get a big refund because of my dissatisfaction. I’ve been going through embarrassing laser removal treatment, ever since and this Is my account of what happened at Damask. With all the events that occurred Damask did however handle the dissatisfaction and refund with sympathy and effectiveness.

My Mom, daughter and myself went here to get tattoo's. The first for my mom and daughter. Everyone was more than helpful from the minute we inquired throughout the whole process. We very much like our new artwork and will I'm sure be here again soon. Amazing shop ...very happy with our decision to use Damask Tattoo ! I HIGHLY recommend.

Jillian did an absolutely amazing job. She was able to create a work of art that was perfect for me and was even made a few last minute changes to the drawing to ensure it was exactly what I wanted. Even before my consultation appointment Jillian was great at responding back to me and really seemed interested in working on my idea. The entire experience was better than I could have hoped for. I highly recommend this shop to everyone the staff are amazing and incredibly talented.

Damask is so clean and welcoming. It has an almost spa-like feel to it compared to other parlors. I am just so happy I've found this gem!
