I cannot say enough good things about Khaos Ink. I worked with Ariel to create a tattoo to celebrate the completion of my first full ironman race. I had some very specific symbols I wanted to incorporate into the design, and Ariel walked me through the process and was very up front with me about what could and could not work with sizing limitations, as well as what everything would cost. Ariel and Anastazia worked together to come up with an absolutely perfect design that I am completely in love with. Throughout the whole design process, Ariel was extremely patient with me and helped me understand every little step, which was extremely helpful for someone who was completely new to tattoos. In addition to their amazing design skills and good information, the actual studio is perfect - it is comfortable, creative, and, most importantly, very clean. Ariel goes to great lengths to make sure all tools, surfaces, etc are sterile, and he is also very informative in how to heal and maintain your tattoo, as well as makes himself available to answer any questions after the tattoo is complete. To be honest, I feel like he is more thorough than some nurses I have dealt with. So, in short, if you are planning on getting a tattoo, do not hesitate to choose Khaos Ink. And if you are a first-time tattoo seeker, then YOU NEED TO GO TO KHAOS INK - they will listen to you, take care of you, and produce amazing art!

There are some really good shops in this area that can make choosing the right one pretty difficult, but what really stood out to me about khaos was the advice they give. If you have an idea and bring it to them, they do their best to shape that idea into the best possible outcome. They arent afraid to tell you the truth about your idea either but they do it constructively to help you build that perfect image together. Really great shop as far as customer service and actually caring what they put on your body. They wont do work that looks bad because every tattoo is done with pride, so they won'to put ink on your skin until you both design a tattoo that you're excited to wear and their excited to show off. I've been to 3 other shops in this area since I was 19 and when it comes to quality this is the one I go to, which really makes my friend mad because hes a local artist for another shop. I feel bad and it's nothing against him, his work is amazing, i'm just pulled to this store. The tattooing at Khaos is also really well done, So far the coloring in my older pieces still look brand new. Both artists take their time with you to make sure the lines are crisp and the shading is flawless too. It may not be the cheapest in the area but just like anything else, you get what you pay for. If money wasn't an option would you really eat a $3 Cheeseburger over a $15 burger? Absolutely not. So why save a couple dollars to carry around a tattoo you have to try and hide because the artist messed up a word or forgot to color in a major area? Yeah I know two shops in the area that have done that to 3 of my friends, not dropping names though. Long story short, this is the shop I choose to go to. If this is your first tattoo though, visit a few options and get their input on your tattoo idea, see who works with you best and who brings your idea to life, my bet is it will be Khaos Ink.

If you need a tattoo done professionally and right then you need to come talk to Ariel at his shop. Khaos ink is by FAR the best tattoo shop around in Hampton roads. Ariel has been working on my sleeve an entire year. I have had over 10 sessions with him and he has delivered a 10 out of 10 every time. He is the most down to earth, intelligent, and professional artist I have ever been around. He has met or exceeded my expectations for my sleeve and his artwork. I am happy to say I get to have his artwork on my body for the rest of my life. He is my artist for life!

This couldn't have been a better first tattoo experience. Where to even begin! Went on yelp to research for a few places while on vacation in VA with my gf and Khaos Ink came up. There were good reviews and I chose it without knowing what to expect. I emailed the shop out and got an answer so fast regarding my idea for a tattoo. They stated they could see me that Sat as a walk in. Once I got to the shop, I immediately got good vibes. The decor looked amazing and we were greeted immediately. The wait was very minimal. Then we got to meet Ariel and Paula; they were fantastic!! Ariel took so much time and consideration showing me different interpretations of my idea to make it pop more than being flat and what he showed me looked phenomenal. Paula was so kind and supportive and genuinely happy to have us in the shop, making you feel as if you've been apart of their family all along. Once we determined the design and placement, Ariel had me check multiple times to ensure I liked it and I most certainly did. Before tattooing the design on me; he explained everything including, sanitation of all the equipment, what I should expect to feel, the process of inking the design, what he would be using throughout the tattoo, the differences between the machine and ink he would be using compared to what else is out there currently. Everything was super clean and organized and he was more than happy to answer all of my questions, no matter what I had come up. As the tattoo started, the way in which he tattooed made it nearly without any pain (they'll obviously be a little discomfort since it is a group of needles going into your skin) and even described the differences between the attachments he was using. He was very very personable, not leaving an awkward silence or giving a cold shoulder at anytime of the work he was doing. Once the tattoo was done, Paula and Ariel were very quick to share their excitement on the work he did and with good reason!!! Looking at the work on my arm and in the mirror; I can see why they've been around for almost 10 years. The color was perfect, the lines were straight on, and the numbers couldn't have come out better. They took the time to review all of the healing process with me letting me know multiple ways to ensure the tattoo heals properly and where to find the information on their site of the paper they gave me was lost. What more can I say about the shop and the both of them...I LOVE THEM. I live in Rhode Island and would gladly make the trip down to get another work of art from them. In fact I'm more than certain we'll be returning. If you need a touch up, getting new work done, getting your first tattoo like me, or getting your 100th tattoo; don't bother with any other place of any other state. Come here. Seriously. I don't think I've met a more perfect pair that shows the love of what they do like these two do. Their prices are not something you need a loan for especially based on how much time they take to make sure you're in an area that's well maintained, protected, and comfortable. Thank you so much to these guys and I honestly can't wait for future projects with you both! You've created a long time client for sure!!

Went there for my first tattoo today and let me say it was a great experience. Kris was very patient with me and did a wonderful job. I shot high and did a foot tat (painful). She was patient and didn't rush me and let me take breaks when I needed them. She made sure to take my ideas and turn it into something very pretty. Even when I had her change the font a couple times. Great experience and lovely tattoo.

Paula is not only a tattooist, but an amazing artist! She worked with me on an original design, making it workable for a tattoo. She repaired and enhanced two older tattoos...now I can be proud of them. They take the time to consult and explain what will work, what won't and why. The shop is peaceful, relaxing, clean and comfortable. My tattoos have energy, spirituality and meaning. I get goosebumps when I look at them because I know that no one else has these designs...they're totally me. Their equipment and concern for sterility is state-of-the-art. If you want a tattoo, there are a few places you can go...pick a design, get drilled, BUT, if you want a work of art...go to Khao's Ink. My work is done for the season, but I'll be back in November!

The shop is very clean and to me that is extremely important. It smells very nice and sterile. This is the best shop in Virginia hands down! I just couldn't be happier with them. It's a smaller shop which I like because I get more personal individual service. I've gotten work from both of the artists here. They are always friendly, helpful and they engage in my ideas which I don't find in other shops I've visited in the past in Gloucester. The price has been standard and I have not ever felt over charged, most times the price has been better than what I anticipated. It's a beautifully decorated, spacious and a very professional tattoo shop. I've brought first timer friends with me here and every time they have treated them with respect and helped them ease into the process. Also the tattoos I've gotten here stay more colorful than the previous ones from other places. They still look like I just got them. Highly recommended!!

Excellent shop and atmosphere. I've had a lot of work done by Ariel and staff and I have to say that the quality, cleanliness of the shop, and work is miles above other shops I've had work at. Now before you presume that I'm one of their friends just here boosting them for reputation points allow me to say I've had work done at just about every shop in this county. When Khoas opened I went to see them for some work as well. I wish I would have had all of my work done there. I, in fact, have plans of having a lot of my previous work re-done there. Their attention to detail, quality of work, care for their customers, and overall attitude cannot be compared to other shops in the county. By far the best shop in Gloucester. I encourage you to see for yourself, especially if you have had work done at other shops. Experienced with tattoos or not, simply visit and have a conversation, literally a tour will reveal what all I'm saying. Great job Ariel and team, plan on getting as much as my body will hold! I had an amazing experience at Khaos Ink! I reached out to them on a whim hoping they could fit me in before I moved from the area. They got back to me within the hour and I went in to talk with them later that day. I gave Ariel a very loose description of what I wanted and was just hoping for something cool. When I went back to check out my designs- I was BLOWN AWAY! The designs were so much better then anything I could've ever imagined! The cleanliness of the store is incredible as well. Ariel explains every measure they take to make sure you are getting a safe and quality tattoo. An amazing shop with great costumer service to give you the tattoo you have always dreamed off and way above average cleanliness. Horrible experience at Khaos; If I could give negitive stars I would. I put a deposit down in March for a tattoo and he said he would call when it was ready, he never did so I had to call him. Then I had to wait all the way until July because he never told me my drawling was finished and he was all booked up. When I finally get to my appointment I then have to wait another two hours for him to do some things in the back. I did not even see my artist until another couple walked in and was asking questioned. He then did not speak to me until I started a conversation with him; mind you this is an hour after my appointment was suppose to begin. After he did this he proceeded to just leave me wait again while he ate his lunch. Long story short; he was very unprofessional so I did not spend the outrageous $400 on this subpar tattoo and I walked out. He never called to ask if I was coming back or say he was sorry for wasting a full 2 hours of my time.

I would give zero stars if I can, Hi, I’ve got a tattoo from Paula I love it, except she is good don’t hurt as much not heavy handed ( good for first tattoo). I liked the design and her hourly rate but she is very slow which ended up costing me $950 for forearm tattoo about 6”x6”. Updates: The tattoo faded about %70 percent in the 2 months after the tattoo was done by Paula on July/10th. So I got to endure the pain of getting it completely redone and pay an additional $400 to an already bad and expensive tattoo $950. I emailed Paula with pictures before and after showing the bad tattoo than how it looked after getting fixed, and if I live in VA I would be in their shop telling Paula how bad of an artist she is.

I just discovered Khaos Ink during the Hampton tattoo convention. As I walked by Paula greeted me nicely and answered my questions. After talking to her and looking at Ariel's work I knew I found my artist. I was scheduled for the next day. When I arrived I talked with Ariel and we came up with the tattoo I wanted. I was incredibly impressed with the amount of time he took listening and helping me come up with the perfect tattoo, especially during a convention. During the tattooing he explained what he was doing and listened to my inputs. After the fact he wrapped it and explained aftercare instructions and insured I was good to go. I wish I would have found this shop sooner as I am moving out of state. Thank you for the great tattoo. I recommend this shop to anyone thinking about getting a tattoo.

I got my first tattoo here in August of 2018 and while it's simple, it looks amazing (thank you Anna!!) and I'm so happy with it. I know for sure if I ever get another, this is where I'm going! Went in for a pretty simple tattoo, around the wrist. Well, 300$+ later, the quality is subpar. It's splotchy, as if she didn't even care to check her work. She didn't even care to blend some of it, missing a good spot. In short, I wouldn't pay them for anything. In fact, I'm pretty ashamed of this sad excuse of a tattoo

These guys are no joke. Anna and Paula are incredible artists and well worth the time. I came in wanting a magnolia but Anna's design was way more than just a flower. It flowed well and the lines were extremely clean. Don't come here if you want a cookie-cutter tattoo! The tattoo you'll get from Anna or Paula will be super original and way cleaner than any other shop in Gloucester.
