The only place I go to for tattoos. Really laid back place with a chill atmosphere. Worked with Rooster for the first time, he was absolutely great. I will be going back to him for my next piece. Do yourself a favor and check this place out if you are thinking about a new tattoo. They do piercings too.

Overpriced and horrible customer service. I was told that a change in earrings was free, but when I showed up they tried to charge me an unreasonable amount for what they had previously promised would be free. I told them that they had mentioned it was free, and the lady refused to admit that that had been true and kept telling me I was wrong and that they wouldn't have told me that. She was very rude, and the prices are not good for their quality. I would not recommend going here, theres a lot better places I'd recommend going.

I got my first tattoo by Nick Rose (who is no longer there) and then I went to 2 different places for 2 diff tatts but something brought me back here (probably my car) but also the amazing work by Rooster! If you're looking to spend $120 on disappointment and red tape, Exposed Temptations is the place for you . Ask for Aimee, she'll take care of that. Do not pay for their services in advance. You will never see that money again, no matter how little of their time and effort was involved. Tattoo design and helping their customers find inspiration really isn't their thing in my experience. They do great piercing work though.

Haven't been to the actual shop but I did get my industrial pierced (my first ever piercing) by them at the D.C. tattoo convention. My piercer had an impressive portfolio and the needle/jewelry used on me were unopened and sanitary. Very pleased with the results. I plan on returning soon for my septum.

It's been awhile since I went to this place. I think they have great artists or at least they did at the time I got my tattoo (they didn't work on my tattoo though ) Management is terrible. The artwork they did means a lot to me (still)... It was just a quick buck for them (the two artists who work on my piece) they put little to no effort in it.... They made me feel like I should be thankful for having them working on my tattoo. It was almost a 2K piece and paid it before my last appointment.... Big mistake! They had their money....That was it.... I love my tattoo for what it means to me... It's an awful work. Terrible place.

I went to this shop yesterday with my daughter to get a piercing, she is a minor so I called ahead to inquire the paperwork I needed to get it done. The secretary informed me that I needed a birth certificate to get the piercing, I get there and was informed after having all the paperwork signed and my drivers license and her birth certificate scan.. only to find out that the artist can’t do piercing unless she was 16. My daughter is almost 16. He seems very rude and didn’t seem at all to be concerned about the fact that his shop was giving out false information. He was using profanity in front of my daughter and walk away without as much as an apology. I will never go here again.

People here were professional and welcoming. I walked in near the end of a night, was greeted right away and introduced to someone who could help me. The room I entered was very clean. I felt comfortable throughout the experience, and I was offered information about aftercare. Details: I went for my first body piercing and was helped by Deus. He was personable, knowledgeable, and efficient (things you appreciate when you're nervous). He answered me questions easily and made sure I knew I could come back if I had additional questions or concerns. If the five stars didn't say it clearly enough, I would recommend and return to this studio.

"When a scarecrow met ghost face." I went into the shop wanting a cover up for a light word. The artist wasn't open to any ideas, which should have been my first clue, I could sense that maybe he wasn't comfortable with the style I wanted. I was looking for something abstract. I gave ideas of abstract detailed filled ideas, something to work sound the lines of the words and he started out by saying/drawing random shapes on a flower petal. Seriously?! I'm talking about circles and squiggles. My 7 year old draws better than that. He redid the drawing adding flowers and insured it would come out nice, and as he started I said that I did not want it to look normal and plain. Lo and behold I got a normal, crappy shaded tattoo for life! It looked nothing like what I had asked for. The flowers do not portray any sense of realism. The shading isn't in the right spots the petals don't fold correctly, I guess that's what you get when you say you don't want normal. (Drum cymbal sound.) The problem I have is that it's nothing abstract. It's a plain tattoo. No heart in it. On one of the petals, from my point of view, it looks like a scarecrow had a baby with ghost face and I just got it tattooed on me. I'll try to post a pictures. Good luck

I've been here before about a year ago to get a small angel wing tattooed on my left inner ankle. Aimee did it, she was quick on drawing up something original based off photos I showed her. She did a great job, she's a bit light handed but that's okay and she was quick, it was all lines and I was done within 5 minutes. A group of friends and I were walk ins and all got something done that day, they were very pleasant, shop is so clean, like you can kinda smell the cleaner. They have comfortable seating and have a bunch of portfolios out so you can view artists work while you're waiting. Today, I called to ask if their piercer was in, the phone was answered promptly and the receptionist is very nice and speaks clearly. She let me know he was there and if I was to walk in today to be there at least 30 minutes before closing and told me the price of my piercing ($80). My husband and I went in around 7 and were helped very quickly and Ian was the one who pierced me. Ian is such a great piercer, he's very professional, has a nice personality and is really good at making you feel comfortable. I got both of my nipples done and he never once made me feel uncomfortable. Some light joking, never inappropriate, and he talked me through the whole process while he was piercing. All jewelry was clean and sanitized and came out of brand new wrappers and was disposed of immediately afterward. He gave me a little pamphlet on aftercare and sent me on my way. I'm very happy with my new piercings and would highly recommend him and the shop to anyone who asked me.

BEWARE of this place!!! I had an appointment setup since last year with Ower and it was this week on 6/6/19 I thought it was at 4:30 and it was at 2:30 but honestly when I scheduled it was back on August 2018 When I came to the shop the guy canceled that appointment and also canceled my other two appointments and stole my $100 dollars since he was canceling that appointment just because he is an a** and said if I wanted to reschedule i had to wait until 2020. Horrible business practice and he is just OK so not worth the wait and nepotism.

I got my first tattoo done here when I was sixteen with my dad. The artist who did it, Josh, was very helpful and guided me through the process. He knew it was my first and did a trial line so I could feel the pain level, and talked to me while he did it. Though it was very small, he taught me exactly how to take care of it and it healed really nicely. At eighteen, I went to get a tattoo on my ribcage by Rooster. I had emailed him prior to the appointment and sent him exactly what I wanted. He told me it wouldn’t be comfortable where I was getting it, but it would be over fast. He was very professional and gave me exactly what I wanted, I even cried when I looked at it. A few days ago, I went to get my nose pierced by Deus. I wasn’t too nervous, but he still helped me calm down. He was eating lunch when I walked in, and we talked jewlery and pricing, then he went and cleaned himself up completely before he even took me back. Everything was unopened and sterile, and he talked me through it. He was very nice and very blunt about taking care of it, telling me to “keep my booger pickers out”, which made me laugh through the pain. He told me to come back in 2 weeks so he could make sure it’s healing properly. I was skeptical about Exposed at first, but all of my experiences here have been more than pleasant and I definitely plan on returning for anything else I want done!!

ABSOLUTELY WONDERFUL! Just got my first tatto here along with my friend, of a gingko leaf and script, by luke. We had a walk in, and was scheduled for a little later. The line work and color is absolutely amazing, I am floored. He was very gentlemanly and kind, I have a low pain tolerance and he was very nice about it; gave me a break to cool down from it. I ended up emailing Greg Piper to get the process started. I think he emailed back almost immediately. We set up the first consultation to meet and go over ideas. I was excited. Met with Greg and he was awesome. He was almost more excited about the process than I was. His shop is clean. It is a place you want to have your tattoo done. He did have a wait list- but his finished product was worth the wait. Every week before my appointment I got a call reminder about the upcoming appointment. That was awesome. The woman at the front desk (Michelle) was an absolute pleasure to deal with and more than willing to answer any questions. The finished product is amazing and I get compliments on it daily. Would definitely use this place again and have recommended it hundreds of times since.

I just went here tonight and had Andrew tattoo me. I came in as a walk in hoping for a tattoo on my arm asking the staff to choose an artist for me and I’m so happy they chose Andrew! Not only did he make sure I was comfortable and asked me what music I would like to listen to but he also fixed a mistake a had made in the date I gave him without making me feel bad for not noticing till it was half inked. He truly is amazing and I can’t wait to go back to him for my next piece. Anyone who comes here ask for Andrew you won’t be disappointed! I've previously been to this studio for ink and was impressed with their artistry, clean facility and professional staff. So when my 17 year old daughter announced that she was going to get an industrial piercing, I took it upon myself to intervene and treat her to a safe and reputable piercer. Deus (the resident piercer) met us in the lobby today and went over the details of piercing, pricing and made my daughter feel comfortable. We went over paperwork (IDs and birth certificate) and ended up having to bring my daughter's mom in as I'm not named on the cert. No biggie as home is only a 20 minute drive. Most customers would have had a cow at this point, but hey... the laws are the laws, and it's great to see a business stand firm by those laws meant to protect minors. Back to the studio after a quick bite to eat and mom in tow. Deus was waiting for us and after another round of paperwork checking and payment (very reasonable) while Deus was making my daughter crack up with jokes, it was off to the piercing room. The room was spotless, as was the rest of the studio. The implements were new, sealed and one-time-use. The barbell/scaffold was new and sealed. Deus was clean and donned fresh sterile gloves. Deus made sure that the piercing was going to be exactly as my daughter envisioned. The procedure took about two practically painless minutes and Deus made my daughter feel at ease throughout. My daughter is ecstatic with the results and at ease knowing that she has a studio she can trust for future bodywork. Kudos to Deus and the rest of the staff at Exposed Temptations for another job well-done!

My appointment was at 12:30 and he wasnt ready until 2. I honestly paid wayyyy too much for what I received. I sat for a 6 hour tattoo that covers my bicep, and I paid 700. My artist seemed like he wanted to rush through it. There is 5 different spots where my tattoo is colored outside of the lines. He forgot to connect some of the line work as well (I got a symmetrical piece). My mandala is EXTREMELY un-even. It's a beautiful tattoo, even with all the screw ups. It's just dissapointing that I paid such a huge amount for a tattoo that really is just okay.

Came in for a quick tattoo, was done by artofroux (rooster). The work was average but he was very short with his replies, awful bedside manner. Spent the whole time talking loudly to the artist in the next room, not once did he ask if everything is ok or try to make any small talk. The whole experience felt very transactional and no one was friendly. I even had to wait for 40 min and was not told there would be a wait time, I felt rushed because he had an appointment after.

When I first went in to meet with an artist, the artist was incredibly rude and I didn't feel comfortable being tattooed by him. But I contacted the owner and he was very apologetic and arranged for my tattoo to be done by another artist. I has very happy about this, and the owner was incredibly kind about the whole situation. But the new artist that did my tattoo made a mistake. So my tattoo has a little unwanted line coming out of the main design. But the artist is offering to fix it for free.

I got my nose pierced here by Ian, and he did an AMAZING job! He talked me through the entire process, and he gave me great advice on how to take care of the piercing. All of the equipment used for my piercing were brand new, sealed, and packaged. After it was done he suggested the H2O Ocean spray, and it works great! I will definitely be going back to Ian for more piercings! I highly recommend him to everyone!

Hands down to this shop! I have several tatoos and here is where I got my best. My artis was Jose (JcArdilla) he did a great job. Usually u will go to a shop and ask for advice and they will usually tell u is up to you. Jose did something way different he advise me of how it would have look better and at the end the result was great. I gave Jose 4 drawings and the rest was free hand and he did a amazing job. Hands down to Jose and I recommend him all the way. If I could post pictures I would have done it

The guy who did my tattoo was very rude, and when I came home and removed my bandage I see my OM looks different than the picture that i send him. I send him an e-mail saying that my OM is different and I send him the picture that I wanted to do and what he did but he never reply me back. I hope it won't happen to others. I saw very good review and went there but I won't go there again.

I have been over four times now for my tattoos to Exposed Temptations and even dragged my USMC brother there for his. I will never trust anyone else but Vanis for my ink. He's extremely talented, detail oriented, and attentive. I've given him ideas for a tattoo with a flimsy explanation of design and he's crafted it perfectly within 15-20 minutes, way beyond my expectations. Everyone there makes you feel very comfortable and welcome- plus, it's EXTREMELY clean!

I used to think this shop was excellent - they did my first 4 tattoos. Then I went around to numerous other shops (one in Korea, the Body Gallery 2, and most recently Inksanity) and the work from those shops is far superior to what I received from Exposed Temptations. The work I have looks cheap, has blow outs, they changed the design (I asked for a drop shadow and they put a green thick line under the whole tattoo- yuck.). My tattoos are super visible as they are on my arms- everyone raves over the few that I have received from the shops listed above (particularly the one from Korea and the Body Gallery 2)... not once has anyone wanted to know where my ones from this shop came from other than to ask where they were done so I don’t go there. I’m currently looking to design a cover up for the two worst ones which happen to be next to each other (done by two different artists). Overall, I’m glad I realized that there were shops that out shine Exposed Temptations before I completely covered my arms in mediocre tattoos.

Just got an eyebrow piercing from this place and it rocks! Deus was polite and very good at what he does! Great customer service! They had all the after care products there as well as a wide selection of jewelry! It was a quick process too. I was originally gonna get the piercing done at All American Tattoo however I read that “you get what you pay for” eyebrow piercings there were was 30 and at Exposed they charge 50, glad I paid the extra 20! Very professional and clean! I watched them take both the needle and the jewelry out of a sealed bag. 10/10! Edit: I added a picture to the photos of my piercing now(it’s been a little over two months after getting it). It’s going great, every once in awhile it gets crusty and I have to clean it with a wet q-tip but I was told that’s part of the healing process for piercings.

I know this review is late but I just want to make it a point to say I love this shop a lot! I've had my dimples and a cover up piece and my mom's tattoo done here and they are absolutely amazing. Great environment, clean shop, and nice people. Very professional shop, when I got my dimples done Dëus was able to get a hold of as soon as possible when I had problems with my piercings. So I actually didn't end up getting a tattoo here, thank God, because apparently it can take over a year for them to get you in and their prices are outrageous.. Who wants to wait that long for a tattoo. I then was berated and harassed by their owner for posting an honest review on their facebook page. These people are arrogant and can't take constructive criticism. Save yourself the headache and go to Handmade. Experienced friendly artists, that provide fair prices and quality work. I have already sent several friends their way and the outcome is always phenomenal!!

I got my 3rd tattoo by Rooster today (I have 10 tattoos total currently) and made an appointment for my 4th. I cannot speak for the other artists at this studio as I have only ever had Rooster ink me but he is always very professional, conscientious and he makes sure he is drawing exactly what I want in the sketch. I found this studio after not being pleased with a tattoo I received at another studio. Now I've found my go to studio and artist. Rooster takes walk ins most days and I've found him to be reasonably priced for the awesome work he does. I recommend Rooster to all my friends for his attention to detail, professionalism and his artistic ability. He checks on me multiple times during the tattoo to make sure I'm hanging in there, and his presence is very calm which I appreciate in a tattoo artist. Side note: the waiting area is really chill and feels like a cool clubhouse where tattooed people hang out and its always clean. Two enthusiastic thumbs up.

I have been coming to exposed temptations for almost 3 years. I drive over an hour just to go there. Everyone is super friendly. My husband got both of his tattoos done by Josh. He is extremely happy with the results. In the last three years I have gotten six tattoos, all done by Rooster. He is fabulous and extremely professional. He goes out of his way to make me comfortable. Rooster helps me make informed decisions about my tattoos, without being pushy. He is mindful of my budget, by have various sizes of the potentially tattoo, ready for me to look at. Every tattoo has come out even better then I could have imagined! If you're looking for a fabulous artist, who's super down-to-earth Rooster is your guy!

I have always had Rob Kinzel do my tattoos and love how willing he is to work with your ideas to give you the most unique piece possible. As far as the price goes, you pay for the quality of your tattoo which is a permanent piece.

NOTE: Tattoo pictured is fresh, after first cleaning. It is not perfect because skin needs to heal and it needs care. It is exactly what I wanted though. So, I was a walk-in, and was able to talk to an artists and get an estimate on cost and appointment time (he was in the middle of a beautiful addition to another person’s tattoo). Paid 50 bucks as a deposit, made an appointment for a few hours later, and he came out to say “hey, listen, I need to finish this tattoo” and to risk a commission for the sake of his art was incredible to me. I happily waited, he brought me back sooner than expected, kept great conversation and explained every step as it is my first tattoo. Even down to how he was centering on my arm based on bone placement. It was fantastic to learn and I trust him from the straight talk and great results. For 100 bucks I got to get a tattoo the same day, with consult, tracing, education, and obviously the ink itself. I felt at home - no pressure to even leave a tip but for all his services gave Luke 30 bucks because it took something that could be anxious and unnerving and made it simple. I’ve worked with doctors who don’t have his bedside manner as it were. I should say the whole team is excellent. The office manager was helpful, honest, and pretty funny; artists were happy to share their portfolios and hung out in the lobby with their clients, even suggesting coworkers who may be a better fit. It was a great atmosphere. Highest recommendations for something that’s gonna be a permanent, especially if you that first time explanation of the process. Pain was nothing special, more like a moving mosquito bite. Anyway, thank you Luke and the entire team!

I’ve been a customer here at exposed temptations for 15 years (9 tattoos) and I can confidently say that they are top notch in all areas. Some places have good customer service but little artistic talent. Other places have good artists but horrible customer service. And some places aren’t even clean enough to consider evaluating other areas. From the time you enter the building at exposed temptations, get your consult, set your appointment, and get your ink, you will experience the entire package here, as you should. I’m not one to write reviews, but they deserve 5 minutes of my time to reflect the outstanding experience they have provided me each and every time I’ve walked through their doors. Five stars.

I was a walk in, n they took care of me very quickly! the shop was spotless! My artist was Pudge, n he was very good at makin sure he showed me that the needles were being open right then n there, n that everything was clean! it was such a good experiance. He made sure i had all the right thing to wash n take care of my tattoo. He did a great job on my tattoo n the line work is awesome!! When I was done, i talked to the other aritst who werent workin on a piece as of that moment, n they hooked me up wit some after ink, and also gave me addition advice! Great place n vibes!! I got a piercing here in January and was very happy with my piercer. He was knowledgeable and helped me stay calm through the whole process. He talked me through everything he did which was great. I came back recently to get my first tattoo and wasn't happy at all. My tattoo artist never introduced himself. I even told him it was my first tattoo and he didn't talk to me about the process or walk me through what he was doing. When he was done he just motioned for us to leave and when I asked how to take care of it all he said was use unscented lotion. My friend who came with me has had multiple tattoos done at other places and was very shocked at how nonchalant he was to us. He seemed like he couldn't wait to be done and was not personal at all. The receptionist at the front desk was more helpful than him and actually gave me the tattoo care paper when I asked her how to take care of it. Won't be coming back here for another tattoo and won't be recommending it to others.

Go to anyone there but Amy. I wanted a coverup and I usually went to vanis (fantastic) but I wanted another artists character in my body so I gave her a shot. I should have known from the start of her not even taking down an outline of the tattoo I wanted to cover that it was going to be bad. But I stayed optimistic due to the shop and artists reputations. I made an appointment 10 days prior and still waited an hour and a half the day of my appointment because she was JUST drawing it when she found out I arrived.there was just no love and care into this, when I look at it, it makes me sad..

So I've got most of my tattoos done in California, Florida, or New York. There is a certain stigma that northern virginia can't do good tattoos. THIS PLACE BREAKS THE NORM. The facilities are super clean and nice. Every station is separate so you have just a 1 on 1 with your artist, which I love. I recommend you checking out all the portfolio's of all the artists, there are some super talented artist there. I got to spend 5 hours there getting a piece done and from start to finish it was absolutely fantastic. This will be the only place I go or recommend other people to go to. Even down to the receptionist whose handling so many appointments and artists, everything was great. Check it out.

I have been here multiple times to get pierced and love the results! The enviornment is nice, a little snug tho when it gets busy in the waiting area. I recommend getting pierced by Ian, he only works weekends. He has pierced my forward helix and conch and is SUPER friendly and patient! The other piercer Deus, that works throughout the week is an excellent piercer as well but has a strong attitude, isn't patient, and very rude.. he's pierced my nose, cartilage, and tragus

The shop: I agree with some of the other reviews that the strip mall made me a little nervous at first. However, once inside, it was very clean and well lit. There is a decent sized waiting area, with tons of artwork and tattoo examples. Each artist has his/her own private room decorated in his/her style. It almost makes the shop "homey" and makes it much more comfortable to get a tattoo or piercing in a The staff: Everyone was (unexpectedly) very friendly! This was my first experience getting a tattoo, so I admit I wasn't really sure what to expect. My experience: Vanis has done an excellent job on the two 4-hour sessions we've completed so far on my scar coverup. He helped me decide the best size and placement to distract from the scar instead of drawing your attention to it (like my original idea did). I expect to return regularly to continue expanding it. On another visit to the shop, Deus also added venom bites in line with my existing tongue piercing. I look forward to getting new piercings here as well!

Great staff over at this place. Really professional and friendly. They'll work with whatever you want, suggest stuff, and get down to work. I walked in hoping to get a lions head, the artist took that and came up with something I absolutely loved. Clean studios, spot free equipment. And it wasn't even as expensive as I was expecting it to be. You leave with everything you need to know on how to take care of your new tattoo, and they've got all the gels and creams you need to keep your tattoo looking new. Walk-ins are welcomed, but I recommend getting an appointment if your work is going to be extensive. I walked in, realized my work would take 2~3 hours, ended up getting an appointment for next week. Showed up early, got started early. They'll stencil out their design to absolutely make sure you love it, work on any changes, show you exactly how it would look like at the spot you want it on, and start drawing. I highly recommend this place. Thinking of getting another tattoo soon, can't wait to go back.

Very professional and helpful! I truly appreciate IAN for getting my nipple piercing out with no charge right away. I had to get it out not only that I’m pregant but because my right nipple is infected. Not to mention the bar ball broke off and the lock wouldn’t spin. It was so hard to get it off.
