Sometimes it's the little things that mean the most so today I got a fairly small tattoo done that meant a lot to me. Sam was fantastic and the owner, who I unfortunately didnt get her name, was wonderful as well. They both assisted with pinpointing what I wanted to get with the best result. Highly recommend and will be back!

Was looking at different things while waiting and found a picture of a style I liked low and behold it was the same way that John came up with, which was who did the tattoo. I was disappointed by the professionalism of the shop. I tried to make an appointment to get a piercing done. A friend and I called numerous times to talk to the piercer and we were told that the piercer wasn't in, but we should call back later. Whenever we called back, the piercer/owner was never in. Finally, we made a quasi-appointment and they told us she'd be there in about an hour. When we traveled out of town to see her, low and behold, she wasn't there. We left our names/numbers and never received a call back, even two months later. Needless to say, we got our piercings and tattoos elsewhere.

I have a half sleeve and a huge back piece, my standards are through the rough when it comes to tattoos. If you are going to draw on someone and make it permanent, you better be damn good at it or find another job. The only reason this review has two stars instead of one, is because Dave is a nice dude. Long story short Dave tattooed four numbers on me in Olde English, no shading. Two numbers on each wrist. I was so anal about everything because he would ask me how it looked now and then, and I kept finding places where he messed up and had to correct it. Now that it is almost all healed, I see my tattoo in its true colors. It looks terrible. Every single line on all four numbers are crooked and squiggly. The part where he colored in black, is not fully colored in a lot of places. One of the "straight" lines is crooked as hell and makes one number look slanted and is skinnier than the other three. He had a stencil for Gods sake. Oh by the way, this work was 80 bucks and they make you pay before you get the tattoo. As far as cleanliness, they let their customers walk around without shirts and shoes on. The artists vape inside and have their personal crap all over their desks. Now I have to find a reputable artist and get this crap fixed.

Always been beyond thrilled with the work I come out with every time I've been to Army Navy. I've been tattooed elsewhere around Hampton roads before finding this shop, and ever since my first visit in 2010, I absolutely will not go anywhere else! Great shop! Very clean and fun interior, covered in old-school flash from the shop's early days (been around since the '70s, I was told when I was there that its the oldest shop still open in VA) and general Americana. They have a comfortable waiting area where the owner will often come out to talk you about what you're getting and share stories. The staff is incredibly courteous and professional, talking with you at length about what you want to get and showing you their portfolios. They give you as much time as you need and answer any questions you may have about the process. They also consult between themselves about what they're working on, giving the feel of a collaborative environment perfect for getting the best art possible onto you. In total, my family and I have gotten four tattoos from them (one from JJ and three from Dave Cooper). Each time they have been efficient, fun and respectful. They check at regular intervals to make sure you are handling the pain during the process and check with you several times to make sure the design and placement are perfect for you before the needle is ever applied. They made my first tattoo a great experience (a shoulder piece, roughly 5 inches in diameter) and I would recommend them to anyone around. Both me and my sister have new ones planned in a couple of weeks and I can't wait. They have the most professional and fun studio I've ever seen, populated with a great staff and a fun owner. It truly makes the entire event a memorable one. Plus you gotta love old school.

I came here and got a tattoo with some wrighting the tattoo artist geo spelled it wrong and cause a huge thing about it Sean fixed it and did another tatoo on methe owner wants to make sure the customer is satisfied she is very genuine and nice I would not suggest going to the artist geo considering he is a apprentice did not say he was and also he asked multiple times for a tip still great shop

My wife and I got tattoos yesterday and we are beyond satisfied with them! I had mine done by George Rankin, the shop's apprentice, but please don't let that title dissuade you because he is truly gifted. The shop is clean, staff is friendly, prices are reasonable, and they have a comfy waiting room. My tattoo is complex and George did a flawless job on the lines and detail. It's two klingon bird of preys attacking a galaxy class starship in a nebula. I'll be going back in a couple weeks for the coloring.

The absolute best tattoo experience I've had at a tattoo parlor in the state of Virginia. Not only was the cleaniness of the shop immaculate, every single artist was knowledgeable, and the best at their craft. I personally recommend Jermey or JJ. I've been going to them for 3 years and they have never made a mistake or a poor line on my body. Great prices and and excellent work.
