MOST AWFUL TATTOO SHOP IN UTAH! i came in around november to get very special tattoos done for my sister that recently passed away and once they had ALREADY started my tattoos i noticed that EVERYONE in the shop had alcohol and had been smoking weed. so i got a tattoo so awful i can't even explain it....not only that they promised to get a tattoo removal system a week after so i figured i'd be okay cause i'd get it removed soon. well nope after that everyone in the shop blocked me and my family and ignored our phone calls and texts and they're tattoo artist matt elton said some very messed up things to me and acted like it was my fault my tattoo was completely messed up. and the owner James was no help at all either everytime i talked to him he acted like it was my fault my tattoo was messed up and was too worried about his trip to hawaii to help me out. I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS SHOP AT ALL!!!!!! oh and not to mention my boyfriend had to remind him how to spell head on my tattoo!! what kinda of place is this?!?! savage ink is a JOKE!!!!! this was all back in the beginning of november and it's march now and they STILL have done nothing to help. PATHETIC. these people are NOT professionals!!

James savage is by far the most talented detailed artist there is, I've had multiple cover ups as well as various other large pieces such as portraits done by him and all of them healed amazing and look near life like, I've had so many compliments on them and feel absolutely ten times more confident with the way they look getting my ink done with james. His apprentices and the other artists that work along side of him at savage ink in American fork have all always been so awesome and kind and doing their jobs to the best of their ability becAuse of their genuine care for people and they build friendships and connections with all their clients. I came here to get my nose re-pierced after having brought my daughter in the past to get her ears pierced. The piercer was so kind and gentle with her and I am happy to say that I wasn't treated any differently. The piercing was done in 10 seconds with no complications. I've had my nose repierced 3 times now by different individuals. Hands down, Savage Ink was the best experience of the 3! I'll save myself the trouble and go there first in the future.

Brought my daughter in to have her ears pierced. I had heard tattoo parlors are very sanitary and I had no desire to take her to Claire's. The guy arrived late (he admitted he was sleeping) then when he was ready almost 30 minutes later, the 3 of us there had to be subject to some angry rage music that sounded terrible (I get that it's a tattoo parlor, but there are less hard stations). When it was time, the guy said he was going to do it "freehand" which we didn't understand what that entailed. Needless to say, our daughter cried through the entire experience, the studs were terrible, the service was unprofessional and poor, and in the end, they kept falling out and hurting her every time we tried to put them back in. We finally gave up, since she cried every time we touched her ears. When it's all said and done, I'm going to do a ton more research when we get her ears pierced the next time.

My daughters nose piercing came out during her sleep and because it was a corkscrew stud she could not get it back in. We went here for assistance putting it back in and we were told it had already closed and needed to be re pierced. This cost an additional $40.00 when right before we arrived here my daughter was able to get an earing all the way thru the piercing. After they supposedly re-pierced her nose my daughter told me she did not feel the needle re-pierce any of her tissue. They were friendly to us but unfortunately i feel like we were taken advantage of

I have not personally gotten a tattoo here. But I have attended many friends getting tattoos and piercings. The staff is always knowledgeable and fair priced. They are accurate with there work, and they care about your designs. I would recommend.

Disappointing. I got my first tattoo from James before he owned this shop. I loved it so much that i went back for my second one. I spent lots of time figuring what i wanted exactly, and this tattoo has a lot of meaning to it. I even scheduled an appointment ahead of time. When i got there, they weren't even ready for us. The tattoo artist said he wasn't paying attention to the time. We sat there for about 35 minutes after my scheduled time. Once i was in the chair the artist was still working on another tattoo drawing, and pretty much rushed through the whole thing. Silhouette birds should't be that hard for an experienced artist. For him, i guess it was. After my birds healed they looked AWFUL! he botched my skin to where it still looks bumpy. Line work is so messy and the soft wings i asked for are harsh sharp lines... needless to say not all artists there are actual artists. Not sure why or how they get hired but i would definitely do some research before i go there or just not go at all.

Living canvas was super clean and the employees made the store feel comfortable and professional, overall I was very impressed. Looking at the pictures it seems like you can get a great tattoo here. I came in for a simple ring tattoo, really just a straight line, mine definitely did not turn out great. They do offer lifetime touch ups, but I’m afraid to go in again if my tattoo would end up just as bad again or worse.

Ryan was my artist and he gave me the sickest tattoo I have ever had. He is a perfectionist, we were almost done and he noticed a couple of outlines that he wanted darker, to make sure that they healed properly. He also told me to come in anytime for a free touch up. We are already looking at the next couple of tats. I recommend him to anyone who wants to work with an artist that will bring your idea to life on your skin.

He was so good with my daughter and made what I thought would be a really unpleasant experience a positive for her, she feels a lot braver now! He also fixed my Daith piercing, I got it done a while ago and it wasn't working, it was constantly infected, and he pointed out that it was too far back and re pierced it in the right place for me- I felt INSTANT relief, I will definitely be coming back to him! The shop is super clean, and I really appreciate their preparation! I really like that they give you jewelry that will help your piercing heal better!

My boyfriend and I came in to get his ears pierced as a last minute decision, and this shop being the closest in our google search, we chose to go there. We walked in and told them what we needed done, they scrambled to find the paper work, and didn’t know what needed to be done. Once he finally was in the chair, they marked his ears wrong to start with, then did the piercing. They didn’t ask which earnings he wanted, and so the balls that were supposed to be silver were green due to the weird markings they used. Afterwards they didn’t clean him up, or give any instruction as to how to care for them. We left the shop unsatisfied to say the least. After calling different shops we went to a shop in Orem and the girl was amazed with the terrible job. She agreed to help us fix them. She looked at the mess and didn’t even know what they used for the markings, and that said a lot because she told us she’d been piercing for four years. She was able to clean them, and in the process, the ball on one of the posts fell off. She was able to put new balls on the posts and tell us how to care for them. The experience at Arcane Art Tattoo was much more professional and a better experience overall.

I brought my friend, Saphira, here to get one tattoo. She just wanted a halo with angel wings and the picture she brought was just lines and no shading or color. We showed it to her artist, Ryan, and he redrew it in a way that made the wings a lot more proportional and aestheticly pleasing. He also suggested she make the halo gold. His drawing he came up with looked much better than her picture and once it was tattooed we could tell that he really saved her from having a mediocre tattoo. He said he wanted to make it better because it's his art, so you know he really cares how they come out! My mom, Saphira and I all want to go back next month for tattoos and we're gonna request Ryan!

poor customer service. I came in today to have a ball replaced on my daith piercing that fell out yesterday and they wanted $10 for a tiny ball from an earring. Not to mention they were really rude about it and made me feel like I didnt matter as a customer. I got the feeling that Savage Ink is more all about the money than they are about the customer. Just had an awesome experience at Living Canvas. The guy at the counter was super knowledgeable and friendly about the various meanings the symbol I was getting meant, and Martha paid attention to detail and resized the drawing I brought in, no problem. The guy eventually gave me a sheet of paper that he had taken the time to write a diagram of the mythological underpinnings of my tattoo while I was under the needle. Really nice of him, going above and beyond. Anyway, thanks Living Canvas and Martha for welcoming me in on such short notice and doing such a great job.

Went to Savage Ink a week ago Friday . I had something dear to my heart in mind. The ease of appointments was great and worked well with my schedule. The artist that did my awesome tattoo was Ryan Crown. He did a beautiful job creating my infinity symbol with my kids names along the lines. It's my sixth tattoo and by far my favorite he did some drop shadowing that really made the names pop which is exactly what I wanted. The pricing was great and if your looking for some fabulous ink ask for Ryan Crown!!!!

Horrible! Had dermal done on my cheek and went in to have him switch jewelry he was very clumsy. He pinched my skin with the pliers three times then squeezed my cheek to hold the back piece so he could tighten it. I went home and about a week later is was still hurting bad and hella red. He had screwed my skin in between. Now the metal base is coming up out of my cheek. I'm gonna have to get it removed I think and am terrified to see the scar it leaves. I dont recommend going here at all ever.

My girlfriend came in to get very meaningful tattoos done and everyone there was high, drinking alcohol and smoking marijuana...everyone there is unprofessional...you can't go an hour without getting high and drunk to do a 15 minute tattoo? This place is a joke. I feel bad for anyone that goes there. And when you need your tattoo touched up or fixed they block you and ignore all your messages. The Owner should not run this shop he can't even help his clients he's to worried about moving into his house and going on trips. NO ONE GO HERE. most unprofessional disgusting place I've ever seen. And all they're tattoo rooms look like old run down apartments that a hobo just got kicked out of. There's garbage and disgusting stuff everywhere. I do not recommend this awful shop to anyone. It came out amazing, the piercer was calm and confident the set up was immaculate and clean, I noticed they swapped glooves alot which is definitely a good thing, They also used lidocaine and coated the needle with it so it was numb. I go here quite frequently. I love the people here. The shop is such an amazing and calming environment. They also do amazing work. I have gotten 3 tattoos there so far, and I plan on getting many more there. Steven has done all of my tattoos so far, but i am going to have James finish a half sleeve that I have had for a few years from another shop. They really care about their customers. We booked an appointment for my husband to get his 1st tattoo. It was to be a matching memorial tat to mine in honor of our son who passed away 7yrs ago. Our artist's previous client showed up with a much larger tat than expected, so Mat said he felt comfortable in doing it for us. Not only did he not listen to us but he BUTCHERED my husband's Tat. The lines are too thick, deep and you can't even tell what a big portion of it is. We are extremely disappointed and later found out that our artist didn't even go through a proper apprenticeship. Needles to say, he will be going to a different shop next week to have a cover-up done.

Scheduled an appointment for a tattoo, and they asked for a $20 deposit to reserve the spot. They rescheduled because the artist was sick. The day of the second appointment, I went to confirm the appointment earlier in the day and they said the artist took the day off, but could schedule me another day with a different artist. Being the second time THEY rescheduled, I asked for the deposit back. They told me that their fine print says deposits are none refundable. I had to threaten legal action and do a lot of screaming to get my deposit back so I could take my money somewhere competent. Tldr; likely scammers, stay away. Edit: There was no demand for a sooner appointment, I was also not told the second appointment was going to be honored. I was told the artist had the day off, but they would schedule with a different artist for a different day. Don't take my word for the lack of professionalism from this place. Read other reviews. Several reviews mention drunk and high artists doing a poor job, and blocking customers on social media etc. to avoid fixing issues they created. Since I have been accused of not telling the full story: When the artist was "sick" I was not contacted ahead of time. I can in on time, and was told at that moment. He did not look sick, but he sure looked high. It was suspicious that he made no effort to reach out, and simply waited for me to show up. Artist was also completely unapologetic for his unprofessionalism. When I heard he took off the day of my second appointment I was not happy to learn that my only option was to choose another day for the appointment. I asked for my deposit return and was given a resounding no, which is rediculous after the artist cancelling twice. If the morning artist had to pay out of his own pocket it is a problem with the organization of the parlor, not on me. If you do not hold to the appointments you set, you are not legally able to retain the deposit you required to set the appointment. If as you say, all the problems are with the one artist, your solution is simple: fire him and find better employees. But from reading other reviews I think you issues run deeper than that.
