Was referred here by many people and went to go see Toast for a tattoo. She was prompt in getting us drawings of what she was in visioning from what we sent her. The day of was quick and she was very efficient. We had a riot back there as my wife and I got tattoos together. She made us check up with her in a week and when we saw her, she immediately noticed parts she wanted to touch up as they weren't up to her liking. We didn't even notice a problem but her professionalism and quality is the best we ever experienced. Definitely going to get more tattoos with her.

For Tyler Bloomingdale; It was absolutely amazing, Me and my fiance were first time tattooers when we found Tyler, he was recommended from a friend who had nothing but good to say about him. It was a birthday present for me and with short notice when I let Tyler know but Tyler had absolutely no hesitation to get us in for that day. We were definitely nervous about finding a clean sanitized place with the right kind of person to take in what we wanted and what it meant to us because it's definitely a permanent thing, and he exceeded all of our expectations, he answered an much as he could with all our questions before and after seeing him, to make sure we were all on the exact same page, and that definitely helped. While we were there he put on some Netflix comedy to keep us occupied and get us unwound from being soooo nervous, he even himself opened up to us and had some pretty awesome jokes in store. He's been doing this for 13-15 years and definitely has his experience and talent. He's definitely fast but takes time to make sure its all clean and detailed to your expectations, and he's HONEST, we were told he could have honestly easily taken an hour or more like most tattoo artist do to get more money, but he values people time and money and I absolutely loved him for it. I definitely know he's my tattoo artist for the rest of my days even if its a far travel, hes worth it! THANKS TYLER!!!!

I've gone to both Tyler and April here and both were great to work with. Tyler worked with me to design a more intricate piece and was truthful about what would and wouldn't work. He listened to what I wanted and was so easy to work with. April got me in on super short notice with Tyler's referral and did some amazing line work! Her lines are insanely clean and beautiful! She really pays attention to detail and also took the time to listen to what I wanted to do and made it happen. The shop is chill and I will keep going back.

I went to Hydra tattoo specifically to get a tattoo from Caroline. One of my friends got a tattoo from her and I was really impressed with her work for how new she is. The whole experience was amazing. She’s so outgoing and she has such a great energy. She really listened to what we wanted and she had so much passion for her work which was so fun to see. Toast created a really nice piece for me. We talked about the design for a while, and she went all out putting it together and the results are gorgeous. This is the first tattoo I've had that I can see, its on my forearm so I wanted it to be special, and it is! Besides being an amazing artist, Toast is professional and tuned in to how the client is feeling throughout the process. Hydra is a great space too, highly recommend visiting Toast for a consultation - she's fantastic.

Are you ready for Hydra? Custom work is where they stand out. I've see amazing fine-line pieces, Neo, New School, Biomechanical and my favorite artist there does great Yakuza. I've been working with Pat for years, his free hand is the best I've seen. If you know Pat you know this review would take months to due him justice. If you don't know Pat, stop by Hydra and after an hour you'll know exactly what I mean.

I came here when my artist, Tyler Bloomingdale, switched over from another shop and I keep coming back. Tyler is phenomenal and he worked with me to create a huge, affordable, full color piece that was both satisfying to me and functional. Pat, the owner, is amazing and an extremely talented realism artist. I just recently went to Hydra's grand opening event and got a comic book style tattoo from Abram, he is typically a realism artist but the comic book style piece he did on me is to die for! Caroline, the shops apprentice, is a hero in all ways. She keeps the shop clean, crisp, functioning, and inviting while also delivering quality pieces here and there, I've got an appointment with her coming up and I am very excited. She's a gifted artist on paper and I can't wait to have her do work for me as she improves. I haven't personally been inked by the other artists but they are all such lovely, talented people. I've been to a couple different shops in Salt Lake but Hydra takes the cake for me. If you're looking for a place that feels like home after two sessions that will give you breathtaking art, please go check them out!

Got an amazing tattoo here by April. She’s incredibly talented, professional, friendly, entertaining, and dry well priced. She completed my big arm tattoo in 3 hours (lots of line work, shading, coloring and stippling). Her work is crisp and very high quality. The shop is clean and chill - I felt comfortable there.
