I went in to this shop the other day to gets piercing. Never had one before, I was kinda nervous, but the artist Jen made me feel very at ease. I've always been apprehensive about getting one, because Ive always questioned how clean those shops really are. I would eat off the floor at Lonestar. These folks are serious about their craft. And the effort they put into maintaining their shop shows.I've had numerous friends who have gotten ink up here, and they absolutely love their work. I would recommend this place to anyone.

I had my ears pierced here, the lady who did it was extremely nice and friendly. While waiting all the tattoo artists were incredibly nice too felt insanely welcome. She did a fantastic job marking the spot on my lobe perfectly and measured the other side. Didn't hurt a bit. I highly recommend!

Great experience if you want to get a piercing done. I got my nipples done there and the entire time he made sure I was comfortable and showed me when he threw the needles away! I will definitely be going back! They really are about safety and show you when they throw the needles away. And take time to talk about post care tips.

I came in to talk to Waylon about getting some new work done since I had just moved to this area. I Gave him what I wanted he said he would draw something up and get back to me. After a couple weeks no call or email nothing. I tried to call him an left a voice message I then I get a text he was on vacation and would get back to me. When he got back Well, here it is almost 5 weeks later I have called and left messages with no response. This maybe a place to go but Waylon is not the person to go to. It may be an ok place, but I will never know I may be new to the area but, I will also make sure everyone knows about Waylon and this place. When you leave messages on his phone and the store and no one calls you back. Tells you how they are If you tell someone you will get back to them more than one time and don't expect a post like this. I will make sure any place I can post a review this is posted and let everyone know the service to expect. or lack of the owner must be proud

Called to see about a walk in simple line tattoo and the guy that answered the phone was SO nice and very friendly. I called another tattoo place in dallas before Lone Star and I chose Lone Star based on not only the amazing artwork displayed, but the friendly answer to the phone made a HUGE difference! My tattoo artist was Gilbert G and he was AMAZING!! He took great care to not only draw up the exact picture of the tattoo I wanted but also he took so much diligence to set up clean tools and make sure it was placed EXACTLY where I wanted and where it looked perfect to eye level. He went so above and beyond the prep to my tattoo it was amazing! He was super friendly and made the tattoo experience really enjoyable! Even as he was finishing he made sure to fill in a couple places that needed just an extra second of attention before he wrapped my arm. I was so impressed and appreciative of the effort and diligence of his work today! My tattoo says "I am enough" and it means so much to me and he made sure it was perfect for me. I am so glad I chose to get my third tattoo here. 15/10 recommended.

I went in with a very vague idea of what I wanted (it was a celtic-style sleeve), and Scott drew up something that was beyond my expectations and incorporated it very well into the tattoo I already had. He is truly an artist and doesn't let even the most minuscule imperfection pass him by. He also offered free touch-ups afterward, which was a nice plus. I highly recommend him.

I don't know how I haven't already written a review of this place! After he tattooed me one Friday the 13th a few years ago, Waylon is the only artist I've gone to since. He has incredible attention to detail and is great to talk to while getting worked on. I also appreciate that he will take the time to make even just a flash piece 'yours'. The other thing I love is that all the artists seem happy to work there, are all friendly to me and my husband every time we come in, and they all have their own very unique styles! While I believe that any of them would be capable of doing any tattoo, when you look at individual pieces they've done on their own time, you can totally tell who drew what! I have and will keep recommending this shop to anyone! Thanks, guys! :)

Even though I had a small tattoo I wanted to get, I didn't feel in any way "welcome" to be there. Not that I was looking for a fruity spa experience, but overall, I just felt like I shouldn't have walked in but I stayed because I really wanted the tattoo. I do have to say that the owner of shop was VERY courteous and helpful... his other artist in the back just wasn't quite so. The artist I used wasn't really concerned with whether I liked my tat or not. I asked for the size to be different, but he didn't draw up anything different, so I assumed he could do it in his head. NOPE. He put that original print (that I said no to) on there and that's what got tattooed... after I specifically asked for it to be smaller. Not happy about that at all. Most of the tattoo was supposed to be shading but I'll have to wait a while to see if that's what I got. My confidence isn't all that great at this point though. I'm just so underwhelmed with the artist I saw and the level of service I received. But the shop itself was very clean, well organized and the owner was aboveboard and very courteous.

All the staff was cool to spend the afternoon with and the shop is clean and well maintained. I went on Friday the 13th of course expecting hours of wait I had no problem with that. Around 5pm a guy comes out and says we are the last people and puts signs up saying no more tattoos. We sat around another hour. I did go in to see how much longer and they asked me what time I signed in and when I told them they said it would be hours. Okay, that's fine. Then a lady who was in front of me in like comes out and tells me if you signed in after 4:30 you weren't getting a tattoo. I totally understand they got more people than they bargained for. I was on the sign in sheet, along with others, before they put that sign out so it was really not cool. The fact that an employee didn't even come tell people. I feel like some sort of peace offering should have been offered since we waited hours thinking we were going to get tattoos. Bad management poor planning, lame place.

I went to Lone Star this weekend with a group of friends to get our ears pierced. Matt was absolutely fantastic. I ended up getting 7 piercings and as a group we got 17 total so we were there for about 3 hours and Matt was a real trooper. He was super friendly, talked us through everything, gave suggestions based on our anatomy, and knocked some money off the price for those of us who got multiple piercings. Will not return. Given me and my friend went on Friday 13th. We thought that the pricing was great and wanted to take advantage and get a piercing we called on our way there 10 mins out and they said it wasn't a a long wait for piercings at all.. We get there and get put on a list 2 people ahead of us! And an hour and a half later we only seen one person walk out with a piercing. ... the supposed to be piercing person kept walking in and out on smoke breaks and then even took a trip to beer store came back with beer. That is she. We had enough and walked out.... every one waiting was there for tattoos which is cool we expected it to be busy but with 2 people ahead of us and no movement for almost 2 hours is ridiculous! Bad experience all around.

They also only had ONE piece od jewelry to choose from with nose piercing & when i went in to ask them to switch my piercing over to a new piece i bought somewhere else, they charged me the same orginal price i paid getting the piercing & also my son ended up walking out after they tried charging way too much to have a date tattooed on him so I wouldn't recommend their prices.

I have been to this shop several times. I usually have Milan do my work. Yesterday I came in to get quotes on 2 tattoos, one for my girlfriend and I. They said Milan was out of town but Hannah could fit us in that night. I spoke with Cat and Hannah and got pricing and told them I we would be back around 6:30/7. Neither of then even asked for a deposit. I had the cash on me at the time and could have put it down. I left and even called and confirmed with Cat that we would be there. Then I called as we were on our way and said it would be closer to 7 but we were driving there. 5 minutes later as i was just down the street Cat called me and said that Hannah had taken a walk in and would take up the rest of the night. This made me so mad. Ended up having to go somewhere else. They just lost client 2 clients forever and I recommended this place to lots of people. Won't be doing that anymore either. Horrible customer service.

"Scott Cooksey knows what he's doing." That's an understatement. Scott understands tattooing from art to application. Not only is he a terrific artist, he has a great "touch" that puts ink in the tattoo cleanly, thoroughly and it doesn't hurt like it could. There's a reason why you pick him for your tattoo, and it's worth it. On top of all that, he's one of the coolest guys you'll meet in Dallas. Genuine, friendly, and a great person with whom to spend 6 hours.
