Trash. Don’t get me wrong, I like to be optimistic and look for the good in things but this is by far the worst tattoo experience I’ve ever had. Let me start with the pros: clean i guess, cool shop, that’s it. Came in with a friend for some walkins of a simple design..like so simple there’s no way you could possibly mess it up...the color is splotchy, the pupil is SO small it’s not proportional to the rest of it...and was asked to make it bigger since it was in color (which aight I understand so the color stays well and what not, but I guess I’ve just had more experienced artists in the past that did some complex detailed work) If you know what the evil eye looks like or el mal de ojo, there’s a pretty standard way it looks...we showed an example and they essentially didn’t take any of it into consideration, just started off wanting to give us circles and didn’t even know it was supposed to be in color...??? When I finally asked my artists to confirm the design he wasn’t even aware of what it was supposedly to look like...and then the two artists were confused when it came to the design..??? How do you not remember what a design looks like even after I showed you 30 seconds ago, it’s not like it’s a complex design??? Also, one of the artists just spent part of the time subtly flirting with my friend (unprofessional but we appreciate the laugh). Would never return, definitely do plan on going to get this retouched and fixed without a doubt. Lesson learned, NEVER cheat on your tattoo guy/lady. If you want a better option, try Voodoo Tattoos in San Antonio: so much more professional and will not BOTCH you. Honestly the only reason I didn’t ask him to fix it on the spot was because it’s was by far the most painful one I’ve gotten and I was just trying to find the will of god to not be rude even tho I was extremely irritated, gave that mans a 25% tip and called it a day even tho I should’ve just left without paying. Honestly, a flunking art student could give better quality than this. If you go, have an artist set in mind because their “rotating artists” ARE HORRIBLE. The minute they take you to the very back room, run for your life. Quality over quantity!

I did not have an appointment so I walked in and the gentleman was able to help me right away. He immediately started working on the design for my tattoo and my tattoo turned out amazing, I love it, Santi did a great job!! I would totally go back if I lived in the area and I feel like they're pretty reasonably priced

Met my artist Yvonne in late 2017 and LOVED her work, made a trip to texas from my home in Oregon just so I could get a tattoo from her. The shop was clean and welcoming, all the artists are very nice and respectful but Yvonne went above and beyond. She say with me for 2 consecutive extensive sessions only taking breaks when I needed them. She was especially careful with the design and making sure I liked it before ever touching the tattoo gun. She gave me detailed after care instructions and was absolutely the best artist I've ever had. I have every intention of keeping her as my only artist. 11/10 best tattoo shop from Texas to California

I received my first tattoo here from Erika. SHE WAS GREAT! She was very calming and walked me though each step of the tattoo process. I loved the ambiance of the parlor, really cool decor, nice staff, and most of all, a clean restroom! Erika's post-care instructions were very through, and she even gave me her number if I had any specific questions to contact her. Had a great time - will return someday!!!

The atmosphere in this shop is one that I will always remember, I wish my first tattoo parlor was like this but then I wouldn't have been able to go anywhere else - which is how I feel now. I’ve gotten two of my absolute favorite pieces ever done by Trent! Not only does he take the time to get the details right in the stencil, but he also takes his time to make sure the placement is perfect—as well as the end result! I’ve been such a fan of his work and I’ll be sure to continue to go to him! He’s thorough, clean, and makes you feel at ease while he’s putting in work! I highly recommend him! Ive been to Calaveras Tattos a few times. Highly recommend Yvonne. Shes been my tattoo artist for a few years now. Never disappointed with anything shes done. Her artwork and talent are amazing. Shes just a cool person . The shop itself is clean and very efficient. I dig the artwork and decor that the place has and each artist personal space is their own so you can see the type of style and if it fits your ideas. Friendly professional staff and honestly such a good vibe to be around.

I got 2 of my favorite tattoos done by Yvonne Garza at Calaveras. During that time I was going through some really difficult situations. My tattoos were a representation of how much I had achieved. Yvonne is incredible; she took her time to listen to what I wanted, gave amazing suggestions, and was patient with me since I was driving an hour to get to the shop. (Yup, I was driving miles just to get work done by her!) During the tattooing, she was clean, prepared, and never rushed. I was able to converse with her while she worked on me, it was super therapeutic. The tattoos came out so beautifully, and are still my favorite tattoos on my body. I really recommend this shop to anyone who is considering a tattoo. Yvonne is one of those tattoo artists that has great skills. The shading, lines, and colors still look incredible. Although I moved to South, TX, I am still going to be a client at Calaveras because of the skilled individuals that work there. I’m excited to travel to S.A to see Yvonne for my next tattoo!

Don't expect much out of this place or even anyone being there when they are suppose to be open. Was told Friday night when I stopped in to come Sunday during regular hours it would take 10 minutes to do. Came at 1:00 when they opened and there was still no one there at 1:30. Came back at 4 and was told they wouldn't have time to do it because all their workers were late and were all told to go home. Don't waste your time with this place because clearly they have no problem wasting it!

Awesome tattoo shop with some unmatched talent. I was in the area and decided to get an impromptu tattoo done. I was greeted immediately upon arriving and began planning the tattoo. Gerry is THE BEST! Very knowledgeable and passionate about his work. He assisted me with placement ideas and was engaged throughout the entire process. Awesome spirit! They are also very reasonably priced. Only downfall is they don't accept credit or debit card payments; but they have an ATM in the back of the shop. So, it's a even trade-off.

I have been going to Calaveras Tattoos for years now! When I was station in California I never once thought about going somewhere else to get a tattoo. I always waited till I would come home and see Gerry Garcia who has done all my work since 2006. The environment is chill, the other artist of cool and all so talented. Did I mention that it is always very clean! They take pride in their work and keeping a sanitary shop. Def recommend.
