This shop is the cleanest shop i have ever been in. i have had multiple friends that have been tattooed and pierced here.. i will return to the shop but i will not ever talk to the female tattoo artist again. She was incredibly rude and acted like she didn't even want to deal with me. i will recommend the black pearl to friends but i will tell them to talk to one of the other artist not the female. The piercer was very nice she answered all of my questions and was very helpful.

Today. since I walked by the location again I stopped by to inquire about other SERVICES pricing since at this TIME their website DOESN'T display. On their website the time on Sunday says 12:00-10:00 but apparently they changed it and aren't open at all on Sundays. But since I didn't know that I went with my mom anyways to get my industrial done. Nobody was there except one guy. And when he told me they weren't open I was disappointed. But he told me that he would do it anyway. It was extremely nice. It was clean and he was very nice. It was my first piercing so I was very scared, but it was a very good first experience. I would definitely recommend this place.

My fiancée and I went last night to get tattoos we've been wanting, after researching online we came across the Black Pearl Tattoo Parlor and decided to give them a try. Mike was the only artist there after talking to him we decided to get the tattoos done last night. Mike was very professional and was willing to work with us to make sure our tattoos were exactly what we had wanted. Mike was also very easy going on making sure I was okay by making jokes and such to keep me feeling comfortable (since this was my first tattoo). After both tattoos were done he had made sure everything was to our liking. Both of the tattoos were outstanding and we will for sure be going back soon.

Great place!!! They have great artist, and a great piercer. I get my tattoos from Red but all of their tatto artist are great. They always use new needles for every customer. The inks they use are very vivid. The piercing area is almost like a doctor's office. You go in and there's a table to sit on or lay on. She does the piercing with a face mask and gloves. Everything is very clean and taken care of. Also everyone is very friendly and helpful. This is the only place I go to to get tattoos and piercings. Also if my friends or family want a tattoo or piercing I always send them to Black Pearl.

I'd always recommend this place to anyone who wants a first tattoo. Go directly to J or Red, they will always give you exactly what you wanted. Last time I went I got my tattoo done by some guy named Mike who is always at the front. I wouldn't recommend him due to the fact that he messed up the lettering on my last tattoo & left out some minor details, but it was a small tattoo so it isn't noticeable from a distance. ALWAYS ASK FOR J OR RED. Besides that, the place is very clean & professional.

This is absolutely the best shop I've ever been to! It's incredibly clean and professional. Red did a fantastic job of perfectly copying the handwriting I wanted on both the tattoos I got done. He was a lot of fun to work with and answered any and all questions I had (tattoo-related or not) Everything was done quickly and my tattoos look perfect. I got a very small geometric tattoo. It is not symtrical, line width varies, and shading is not even. The artist did not pay attention to how i wanted stencil placed and as a result it is upsidown. On the upside, the place is clean and the staff is agreeable.

I loved this place since I walked in, great service, super amiable, and clean as well. I thought it'd be pretty expensive since the place looked so nice, but it was actually pretty good pricing. It was my first tattoo, and I was nervous, I got the honor to be with Red, he knew what to tell me to calm me down, the whole time while I was getting my tattoo, he had stories to tell, jokes, he took his time, he said if I needed anything, I could swing by. Red was so nice and so hilarious. I didn't feel any pain till the last minute, it was a great experience for my first time. If I could give this place 0 stars I would. They messed up my industrial bar piercing bad. The holes do not line up at all, they make a "V" shape. I had to go to another place to have the bar replaced with 2 separate bars in order for the infection to go away and heal. DO NOT GO HERE for industrial bars they do not do them correctly.

I went here after someone recommending it as being clean and having great artists. I wanted a simple but custom piece and happened to meet with Red when I arrived. Many artists, along with Red, told me that I would have to make my piece bigger so the quality of the work would last over the years. However, none of the many artists at different shops I talked to took the time to work with me and draw me up ideas before I had even committed to getting it done like Red did. Long story short, after drawing up a beautiful piece I got it done that day with Red. Not only was Red very sweet and professional, but my tattoo came out gorgeous! I was very picky as to the details as this is permanent but Red never got annoyed or made a comment about it. I can tell Red cares more about building a loyal clientele and making sure they are satisfied than trying to fill his pocket. I get complements all the time and have already referred my brother in law and sister to him, which both had great experiences with him too! The place is also very clean and nice looking unlike the majority of places in Houston. I will definitely go back to Red and no one else for anymore work I get.

Amazing! I'm 16, first piercing other than my normal ear one when I was little, so I was really nervous. Got my helix done which is supposedly really painful. Got a piercing and it was executed perfectly. I did not bleed and haven't yet...thinking I can be part vampire :-D The guy that did it wasn't overly friendly but average for a artist (cant be too friendly or you'll lose your cool B-)) My husband tagged alone and I was thrilled that they let him come back and watch (respectively behind the counter of course) considering how I freak out every time I see a needle. Artist did a awesome job working with my anxiety. I was impressed that they sit you down and explain how to keep up your piercing(s). Very professional. Their facility was neat, clean and comfortable. All in all this would be a great place to go if you don't want the negative traffic, if you know what I mean.

Timothy was the only artist there who had type of style of Sailor Jerry and Ed Hardy, that i was looking for! After deciding on the tattoo i wanted. Timothy was very professional and was willing to work with me to make sure the tattoo came out exactly the way I wanted. Timothy was also very easy going, Just about anything i said to him made him laugh, as well as me! Also he made sure that i was comfortable (seeing that this was my first tattoo). So far I have been there three times. First was almost a year ago, got my helix piercing done. The shop is clean, all the sterile items were handled carefully, and I wasn't rushed even though I was nervous and having trouble articulating the specific placement I wanted. The second time was about a week later when the captive bead popped out of the ring when I was changing clothes. I called and was able to go in right away and have a new bead installed even though they were busy. Third time was just yesterday. My husband got the ear piercing he's been wanting and I got another set of piercings in my earlobes, as well as having my helix piercing looked at since it has developed some hypertrophic scarring. Again, the piercings were done well, everyone we interacted with was great, and the advice I got for the scarring was really helpful. A couple of my coworkers will only go to the artists at Black Pearl for their tattoos and piercings, and I can definitely see why. I highly recommend this shop!

They had poor customer service, I told them I previously got a piercing at another shop and used titanium because I have allergies to stainless steel and they said it was impossible that they've been doing this a long time and I basically have no clue what I'm talking about. They also were laughing the entire time they were piercing my friend and it was very uncomfortable.
