Be careful with kris ford at studio 617. I went into his shop in Jan to get a quote on a sleeve. I had done some price checking around to have comparisons and kris quote was in the same ball park. I decided on kris, but that was where the problem lies. I went in for my firstborn session an before leaving I paid the full $850 rate. Then when I was ready to schedule my second session I was informed that I owe for the second session. It was to my understanding that when I was quoted in Jan the price was for the complete product just as the other artist in town quoted. I was wrong. I then decided to have another artist at another shop continue the work. I don’t feel that kris is worth double the other artists. I have also asked for the paperwork I signed at studio 617 the day of and that cannot be given to me. I was asked to come in and that kris wanted to talk with me to resolve this issue. When I did so himself and another employee were extremely disrespectful to me and did not try to find a meeting ground in any form. I was simply talked down too instead even though I pointed out issues I had with the current portion. Then later I see that kris has blasted me on his own personal page. Mind you, I am a server and his Facebook comments were clearly directed toward me. I consider this extremely unprofessional. Just a warning, make sure You get in writing what work you are to receive so this doesn’t happen to you.

I've been living temporarily in Maryville, TN. Maryville does not have a repetition for rich culture or creative thinkers. Studio 617 is a diamond in the rough. Once inside of the studio, I forgot I was sitting in Maryville. The place is clean and has a strong creative vibe. I had some unfinished ink that needed a good artist eye. They took over my existing ink and gave it more life, with ease. I'm super picky when it comes to body art and there is nothing to pick at with this place. I highly recommend Studio 617!

I'm 100% loyal to Studio 617 for all of my future tattoos because of their exceptional service. The artists are friendly, skilled in their craft, professional, and are beyond passionate with what they do, and it shows in their beautiful custom tattoos. The studio is clean and sterile and the lobby is filled with interesting and eye catching decorations and portfolios. The second you walk through the door you'll be greeted and given a warm welcome by their inviting receptionist Rachael who will help you however she can and have you set up for an appointment in no time! In my honest and blunt opinion, no where else in Maryville matters. This is the place to go if you want vibrant, unique and high end custom tattoos. Which you should.

To be completely honest, Studio 617 has the cleanest and most high quality tattoos around here. The tattoo artists there can do many different styles wonderfully. I've had all my tattoos done there and I'm beyond pleased! Everyone at the shop are super cool and give their work a full 110% effort. I've been going to this place for a little over a month now. Kris has done 3 tats for me, and all I can say is"Great!!!". The shop is bright and clean. Kris has given me exactly what I asked for, unless he thought it wouldn't look good. His suggestions have turned out better than the ideas I started with. He has a really gentle touch and would be great for a first tattoo. I was actually falling asleep while he was doing the first one I had him do. I would highly recommend this place to anyone, and I have.
