My wife and I were in Gatlinburg TN for some time away. We both wanted to get our first tattoos so we decided on Smokies Tattoo based on the excellent reviews. We went in late talked with Rich and Sean and even though it was the end of the night they fit us in. Rich is an incredibly stand up guy as is Sean. They both gave us incredible first tattoos with great advise on the process and helped make our trip one to always remember. Great work and now I want another one but will have to wait until we get back to Gatlinburg since they will only be the ones to work on us. I agree with a previous reviewer that even though we live in Michigan it will be worth the trip to have these guys share their artistry with us again. Great shop but more importantly great artists and guys in general!

I get a tattoo every time I go on vacation. Kind of like a souvineer. Well when my wife and I decided to go to Gatlinburg for our anniversary, we wanted to get tattoos. We talked to locals. They all suggested this place. I walked in and talked to Sean. Told him I wanted a moonshine bottle (we are in moonshine country after all). I told him to do it however he wanted. When I came back on my appointment time, he had SIX drawings for me to choose from. Thats above and beyond. Sean was cool to talk to, and easy to work with. Price was good, and tattoo was clean. Cant ask for much more. Great experience, totally would recommend!

I've been to Rich at least a couple times to get some tattoo work done and I have to say Rich is the absolute best tottoo artist I've had the pleasure to know and work on me. I will not let anyone else work on me except for Rich. His place is clean and really nice and Rich does a great job putting you at ease and is a great genuine guy. He takes pride in his work and goes above and beyond and it shows. He has a lifetime customer and friend with me. Highly recommend him to anyone whose looking for quality work in a great environment. He gave a very thorough consultation, teasing out what exactly I was looking for (which I hadn't known quite how to articulate), letting me know what to expect, giving advice, and stressing the difference between a *good* tattoo and a *cheap* tattoo. We went in for our appointment the following day, and I got EXACTLY what I was looking for. I am beyond thrilled - his work is gorgeous, even for pieces far more complex than mine (check out the photos!). We came in from out of town for a wedding and saw amazing pictures and reviews for Smokies Tattoo. We decided to get six tattoos between four of us and we were not disappointed AT ALL! We spent hours with Sean, and his care and attention to our tattoos was bar none. Our tattoos were his main focus, 100% of the time. He has an eye for perfection and met the mark on all six tattoos. His intricate details and lettering were the best I’ve ever seen and had done! My tattoo consisted of tiny footprints and thin lettering and it’s PERFECT! We’re already talking about driving back next year for more!

Hands down the best tattoo artist in Gatlinburg. I did my research before booking my appointment for me and my wife to get tattoos in Gatlinburg. His reviews are on point, as well as his work. He is an incredible guy, that makes you feel at home and at ease with the entire experience. World Class Shop right outside of downtown. We went downtown after our tattooing and received multiple compliments from strangers. I even handed out a couple of his business cards that I took with me for friends back home because people were so amazed. Locals, that had been tattooed in other shops were gawking. This is the place, stop looking. Appointment only, and he’s worth every penny. Clean, focused, and honest.

I’ll start by saying I’ve had some ideas about a couple tattoos I’ve been wanting for a while. So while my girlfriend and I were on vacation here we decided we would just check out a place and get a price on something. After searching reviews we landed on this one. We went there and talked to Sean. He was more than helpful and so friendly and just all around great to talk to. He gave us a price and we decided we would make an appointment for the following day. They were busy that day but he offered to come in early to do my tattoo, but I later decided rather than him having to come in early we would do it that night. Let me tell you Sean did such an amazing job on the small one I had him do and I was so pleased, that my girlfriend and I both went back the following day and got tattoos. They turned out amazing! The shop was clean, both Rich and Sean were so professional and personable. I fully intend to make the 6 hour drive from Ohio just to get work here in the future. I got my first tattoo from Rich about a week ago and the whole experience was awesome. He was extremely accommodating as I messaged him about 2 weeks before I was coming into town and he got me in while I was going to be there. I explained to him what I wanted as well as sent him some pics of some things I liked and he put together an insanely killer design which more than exceeded my expectations. His pricing was awesome and the quality of work is second to none I have had nothing but compliments on my tattoo. The shop itself is super clean and we had a great conversation throughout the 4 hours of work that was done. He explained to me the whole process before we started and what to expect since this was my first tattoo and it was a fairly large piece and I was never uncomfortable or had any doubts about this being the place I wanted my first tattoo done. A big shout out to my artist Sean aka KitKat dude effortlessly killed another one of my tattoos. I recommend everyone to check this guy out. Amazing artwork and excellent execution. Definitely getting more ink from this guy

Came in to get a sister tattoo with my 2 sisters and Sean was great! All of our tattoos were small, but he gave us just as much attention as someone who would’ve been getting a sleeve. We were a very “needy” group some might say, and no questions were left unanswered. He adjusted every little thing we asked him to and made sure we loved it and were 100% sure before he started! If you’re visiting the area and wanting to get some ink done you should definitely stop in and ask for Sean!

**LONG POST WORTH READING** 5-27-19 Where do I start…… Instead of us finding Rich, he found us on a dead end road with a 30 foot camper and nowhere to turn around with deep ditches on each side. He showed up out of nowhere, wondering if we needed another set of eyes to “back down” this long steep hill. Much to our hesitancy he calmly and reassuringly helped us successfully back down that hill. After a very stressful hour or so we set out on our way to the correct road of the campground. We “tried” to give him some money for his time and trouble. He once again calmly replied “No thank you, but here is my business card for Smokies Tattoo come and see me sometime.” Probably thinking he would never see us again. 5-29-19 Fast forward to today, we took him up on his offer and visited his shop. He not only came in on his day off but came in before the shop opened, knowing that we were on vacation and would not be staying long. I got my tattoo from Rich, and also got an inspiring story that will literally give you chills to hear his life story. He has beaten the odds and overcome barriers that not many of us have experienced. I am sad that the ratings only go to 5 stars. Rich’s shop is clean, professional, knowledgeable and the overall experience was top notch. If you are visiting the Smokies or live in the area and looking for great tattoo art work and an amazing experience check out his shop, Smokies Tattoo. Rich and Sean were great. Personable with a good sense of humor and they were patient and willing to make sure we got the lines right, placement correct, and sizing exactly how we wanted. It's a small little place, but you get a really unique hands on type of experience and you're made to feel welcome and encouraged regardless of you levels\amounts of tattoo experience.
