Awesome establishment. Walked in just wanting to check the place out (which in itself is amazing). Wound up deciding to get a tattoo I've wanted for a long time. Jacob Jones looked at the feather I wanted and listened when I said I wanted it delicate looking. He told me what to expect and the fine line detail he gave it is absolutely beautiful. He knew what it meant to me and took the time to get it exactly the way I wanted it.

Angel did an amazing job, but another worker quoted me 1500-2500, which we agreed upon. I live 2 and a half hours away paid 200 for this first session and first down payment was 1K and second was 500 so I was planning on spending max 800 more for the second session. I show up and the manager or owner said I owe 1K more and I told him that it was 200 over what we agreed on and what it said for our appointment online and he said well Angel is going to bring it all together for a half forearm sleeve, but everyone knew that I wanted all that done before hand too so just really annoying they just added 200 dollars more, not to mention I live far away and put a lot of money towards it upfront so I didnt wanna reschedule or cancel or something. I spent about 8 hours of getting tattooed total for both sessions meaning I paid over 300 an hour for this piece. I hate to leave bad reviews but this is super frustrating to not only charge me so much when I know of people who would have done it a lot cheaper and are good also but also go over what you originally quoted me, just not cool at all I will not be back. If you don't mind overpaying then go see Angel he does great work, but they will charge you a way higher rate to get a tattoo there.

I would be very careful when getting a tattoo here. This was my 6th tattoo, very simple word with an arrow. I have never had problems before. The artist did a blowout and the word is smudged and blurry. Won't respond to my emails. I now have to find someone else to try and fix it. Wish I knew how to post a picture I would like people to see the work they say they stand behind.

Hart & Huntington Nashville is a first class tattoo shop. The environment is very calming and relaxing. Everyone is always asking if they can get you something or if you’re doing ok. They go above and beyond to make sure you are having a great experience. Jeremie LaFrance has been my artist for 3, 4-7 hour sessions. He is a stand up guy and does amazing work. He makes sure to spend the time needed to add all the details. I told him that I’m going to have to start coming in and getting random tattoos so I could hang out with him still. He is an amazing guy, that is down to earth and extra friendly. Five stars is not enough to score how fantastic Hart & Huntington, Jeremie LaFrance, and all the employees are. For anyone wanting to complain about the pricing, just know the saying, “You get what you pay for” is a very true statement. Something that is going to be on your skin for the rest of your life is not something to go cheap on. If you are looking for a cheap tattoo, Hart & Huntington is not your place because they put too much quality work into your tattoo.

Went in for a small heart outline the size of a dime and they said it would be $200-$250. The guy said all of their tattoos are $200 and up. Wish I could have gotten a tattoo to remember my time in Nashville.

I walked in showed them a pic of What I wanted I know art and size and details and location on the body is all factors but some guy gave me a outrages estimate 1700- and up well I ended up going elsewhere and the shop has better review and nicer and they said that there rip offs to charge that much that they just didn’t want to do it I paid 300$ and got it bigger even don’t recommend this place at all

After seeing Hart & Huntington open in Nashville I knew I'd be able to find an artist for what I was looking for. I currently live in Knoxville and there wasn't any possible way I was staying local for this one. I was immediately drawn to Mel's work from Facebook pictures and Instagram @mkltattoos. I made my appointment after briefly corresponding with her via email, simple. Mel was able to take a tattoo I had on my wrist and turn it into a masterpiece on my entire forearm. It's been three days since getting my piece done and everyone that has seen it has complimented it. I'm not the type of person that trusts another to the level of permanently marking them, learned through mistakes in the past. For some reason after looking at Mel's work I knew she was the one that could help me out. I'm obviously very early in the healing process but so far, so good. New update 12/12/16......Original piece done by Mel healing great! I went back yesterday and she finished the half sleeve that we started just weeks ago. Awesome place, cool staff, trust em and you'll forever have an awesome piece of art on your body. Enjoy!

I just had my first tattoo done by Luis yesterday and all I can tell you is that man is absolutely brilliant and amazing. I have never met a man with so much talent, time and patience. All I can say is I had a concept and a picture from the internet I showed Lewis and he drew it out and it blew me away his artistic ability neldon it exceeded my expectations tenfold the gentleman is absolutely talented. Keep in mind, my girlfriend had gotten a tattoo in Atlanta and it was an absolute, miserable experience, which she saw the work that Louis had done for me. She was absolutely again, mesmerized by this man's talent I highly recommend Lewis all day long, 7 days a week, 24/7, the man is a genius.

You'll only be hurting yourself if you choose to go anywhere else. This is by far the best tattoo parlor I've ever been to. I wouldn't even call it a parlor, let's be real, it's a home. It is to me at least. Every artist loves their work and takes pride in everything they do. Better yet, all the others artists are equally as interested in making your piece what you want and won't stop till your satisfied. I give my artist, Tarik, an idea and he blew my away every time. Don't even look anywhere else. GO. HERE.

This was my 13th tattoo and I was pretty excited to have one done here in Nashville as my last one was done at Hart and Huntington in Niagara Falls... they quoted 200-300 for both my husband and my tattoo... they charged us over a 1000 in total... plus charged us for the aftercare stuff and didn't even ask if we needed it as both of us just had tattoos done we didn't need it... when I asked the girl at the front desk she claimed the quote was more... however when I got home I checked my email and they had emailed the quote of 200-300... very disappointed the tattoo looks good but I would never ever go back because obviously they are way overpriced... even 200-300 for what we got is a lot but given it was Nashville we were willing to pay that... not cool and kinda put a damper on the trip...

I have to give two starts for a couple reasons. First, I loved the environment and staff was super friendly but my quote for my piece was around 500$ and right before we started it was bumped up another 150$ without me knowing. The amount of money I spent should come with free touch up but it comes with nothing. I understand it's a high end tattoo shop but really..... and the bottom of my tattoo looks unfinished and sloppy like he was rushing. Would only recommend this place if you like to spend vastly large amounts of money for a tattoo that's only half the price. Comes with soap and antibiotics.... that you have to pay for after the fact. Disappointing experience.

Incredible experienceI I made an appointment with Mel and she took time to talk to me figure out what I wanted. She understood that the current symbol, triforce, has a special meaning to me. I got the tattoo for a kid that has shown bravery and strength thru a congenital disadvantage who powers through his challenges with a smile on his face. She was able to add to my piece, enhancing it to an entirely new level a true piece of beauty that pops and adds so much personality and character to my tribute to the incredible Bash! Now the prices are high, but the work that is done by the artists back it up. You want a good long lasting tattoo this is the place, Jacob Jones is my personal fav but they all have their own styles. Very talented artists, great staff, and a nice, clean shop. My wife and I were able to walk in, and before we knew it, we were done getting tattoos. Being we did this on Halloween night, my wife's artist was even dressed up. I did not have any issues with the aftercare, and it healed faster than any previous tattoo.

Walking into to Hart and Huntington you are instantly impressed with how immaculate the place is. The staff is very friendly and accommodating. My artist was Cody Maestas. His input with size and placement in working around my idea for a traditional sleeve was very helpful and the color palate he used was amazing. I would highly recommend this place if you were around the area looking to get some work done. I will definitely plan a stop here ahead of my next visit to Nashville.

This was my first time getting a tattoo after 6 years of waiting. I walked in and was greeted by Brittany. Kind, informative and patient. I felt so comfortable I put a deposit down that day. I designed my own tattoo and fell in love with artist Mel’s work. She has got to be one of the greats. She is a badass wrapped in kindness. Her art speaks for herself. And her skill.... let me put it this way... I was slated for 12:30-3:30. She started on me at 1pm and was done by 3. And that was with a break because I was feeling nauseous. A lollipop later and some water and I sat through the rest without a single issue. The studio is clean, welcoming, and all the staff are a cut above. This place is by far the best. Go! You won’t regret it.

Was super excited to get a piece done here after reading the reviews, even more excited once I entered the clean facility and saw the amazing portfolios. Never got any work done, EVERYTHING I mentioned I wanted was told it can't be done. I don't think it was a can't do so much as a won't do (visted several other shops today to check portfolios, pricing, ect and every single other shop said it could be done). They never even offered suggestions on how it could possibly work or if it couldn't what could. Had high hopes for this place, very clean and they appear to do beautiful work. They just wouldn't work with me for whatever reason.

Ask for Mel, she is THE BEST. She worked with me for months prior through some extenuating circumstances, and was so flexible! The shop is super clean and everyone there was great. Asked for a lyric tattoo and was quoted 1200!!! Absolutely insane.. I got the tattoo at pride and glory tattoo right across the street and it costed 250, nearly less than 5x the price. Idk why they think they can charge so high, it’s absolutely ridiculous.

Passed through Nashville on a whim and wanted to get a simple addition to my ribcage. Just one line. A silhouette of the mountain range that’s on Colorado license plates. No shading. No extra lines. About 3 inches long and a 1/4 inch thick line (if that). Quoted me $175, which I find absurd. The tattoo I have in the same spot (I wanted this new tattoo hovering above it) cost $75 AND it’s calligraphy. Way more complex than a line design. The shop is really nice and the staff seemed super super friendly. But for me, when it came to price, it wasn’t worth it. You’re paying for the convenience and the fact that you’d be getting a tattoo in Nashville. Bottom line — this isn’t the shop you’re looking for if you’re hunting for the best price.

For my very first tattoo, I wanted the best floral artist I could find. I looked through so many websites and facebook pages. Then I stumbled across Hart & Huntington, and saw Mel K Lockett's work. I was gobsmacked. I knew I'd found the artist for my 40th birthday present to myself. I contacted the shop via their website, told them what I wanted, uploaded photos, and reserved the date and time. The day of the actual tattoo, the folks at H & H were super welcoming, friendly, and all-around great ambassadors for the shop. Mel went over everything with me before she got started. She explained her reasoning for outlining versus not outlining a part of the piece. I'm a total noob, but she wanted to make sure I was okay with her process. She was totally cool with my sister sitting next to me during the process, and I'm forever grateful to both of them for that. Two hours later, and I have a beautiful piece of art honoring the memories I have of my Grandmother and Grandpa. Mel is, in my opinion, the best artist in the Midsouth. She does amazing Harry Potter work, watercolor pieces, and, of course, her floral pieces are insanely realistic. I'm already thinking about reserving time with her next year for another session.

We came as a walk-in and they made us feel welcomed and worked with us to make the tattoos perfect. The atmosphere and location are great. You get what you pay for so don’t come here expecting a cheap priced tattoo- they do great work for a reasonable price for what you’re getting.

This was the biggest tattoo I've gotten, and it is of my sweet dog so I searched long and hard for an artist I connected with and thought would nail it. Mel absolutely did-- she not only got the design/look I wanted but she captured him perfectly. She was really fantastic and answered questions for me before during and after, making this an incredible experience. She also made some changes to the design based on my preferences and really got my vision and brought it to life. I'm already deciding on what my next one will be with her! GO SEE MEL! Our 2nd visit to Nashville from Scotland and we'd decided long before we arrived that we were having special Nashville tattoos to mark our return! (Our first ever tats it should be said!) My wife had spotted H&H on our first visit and turned into something of a Facebook stalker in the intervening time between visits! So early on in the holiday we pitch up one morning to do the deed! H&H is deserted because it's so early in the day and we start out on the necessary paperwork. I registered online and asked for the first available artist because I really wanted a tattoo fron Hart & Huntington and happened to be in Nashville. I won the lottery when I walked in and Angel was my artist. He knew my vision, asked good questions and did a fantastic job. I have 3 other tattoos and this was, by far the least painful. He has such a light hand that it was easy to just sit and talk to him. This tattoo is healing quicker and better than any of my previous tattoos, also. What a great experience! My daughter had one done the same day and her artist was Cody. Her experience was equally as fantastic. Great work, great atmosphere and the prices weren't bad either.

We just popped into the shop "spur of the moment" on a girls trip and had a GREAT experience. Everyone was so helpful and nice. You couldn't ask for a more professional and clean environment.

Fantastic! Got the Hart&Huntington logo (four bars) on my left ankle. Done by Jacob Jones. Jacob did beautiful work. Took the time to go back over the tattoo to ensure that quality was perfect. All the guys did a wonderful job at taking the time to make sure I was comfortable during my experience. Highly recommend! Great place to go whether it be your first tattoo or filling in that last available spot.

This studio is a tourist trap and a rip off. The quote we got was grossly overpriced. We were able to get our tattoos done at another studio in the downtown area for a fraction of the price by qualified and experienced artists. I have been getting tattoos for the last 25 years and have never felt like I was being ripped off until H&H. Although the studio is beautiful and immaculate.

Had a great experience, the people were nice, the shop was clean. They have a $150 minimum, so know that if you're going in. Got my tattoo from Mel. She was great, very nice and a great artist, very clean lines.

I fell in love with Mel's style from her instagram and drove all the way to Nashville from New York for my first large tattoo after 5 smaller pieces - I could not have chosen a better artist! The piece is perfect, healing beautifully and with the little input that I gave she came up with a design better than I could have pictured :) She was incredibly efficient - I expected a 6+ hour tattoo and I was out the door within 4 with a gorgeously detailed piece. A lot of the reviews talk about pricing, but I think many other artists would have taken much longer to do a worse tattoo (since it was more her specialty - watercolor/geometric) of the same size and I appreciated being out of pain faster lol... Truly grateful for such a phenomenal experience, I can't stop looking at my tattoo!

My walk-in experience was a bummer. I felt like I was explaining my idea clearly—the guy at the front desk was super into it—but the artist tried to push me toward another style. He drew up a concept that was pretty far off in style and execution and then made me feel a little foolish for not being able to communicate better.

Staff was very nice and made us welcome. Mel did a terrific job on my tattoo which was some bannered lettering. Quality shop and tattoo work. Only thing keeping from 5 stars was 750 is a bit steep for 1.5 Hr tattoo and I have many. Overall happy with shop and Mel is a true artist.

H&H is a nice environment. The staff is friendly and the space is clean. And I HIGHLY recommend using the aftercare products... the soap feels WONDERFUL on the healing tattoo. But I can personally speak for the tattoo artist Mel since she did my tattoo. She was AMAZING! I sent her my idea and her rendition was exactly what I wanted. Her line work, coloring and shading is immaculate. She is super friendly as well. She will definitely be my tattoo artist for any piece I want in the future!

Walked-in as their signs advertise walk-ins welcome. For starters it was hard to get anyone to acknowledge my presence (they were not busy). When someone finally asked if I needed help, he was rude from the get-go and he acted as if he couldn't be bothered and I wasn't worth his time. I have plenty of ink, and will look for a shop elsewhere to commemorate my honeymoon with my husband.
