Artists are very good at following stencils. Cool designs. However, the condescending and pretentious behavior of the staff is too much. If you over look their unfriendly and condescending behavior, this is a decent place to get a tattoo.

Great shop tucked in a small neighborhood in Philadelphia. I’ve had two different pieces done here by John and I plan on getting more in the future. The staff is friendly and knowledgeable and wants to provide a quality product. No intimidation, the staff wants to listen to you and design a tattoo that you will love. The shop is very clean and the staff provides you with aftercare products for healing. I always recommend Frequency to anyone looking to get a tattoo done in Philly.

Both John and David are extremely friendly and I finally feel comfortable in a tattoo shop after over 20 years of getting tattooed. If you live in the tri-state area it is so worth the trip to East Falls, PA (Philly) to see these guys.

Extremely disappointed, yet again, in my effort to find talented, professional tattoo artists and shops in the Philadelphia area. I often travel to NYC to get work done but have been looking for a local shop for the past two years. Also, I very much wanted to work the artist I selected, researched him in advance, set up an appointment, and was told that they were going to work on the design and I would hear back. And then nothing. I emailed and asked when my appointment would be scheduled for. Nothing. Then I reached out just to ask like "hey, I'm open to whatever you come up with - can I still get my tattoo here?" Nothing. I'm just glad I didn't put down a deposit, because I would have probably never gotten my money back. Womp.

I heard great things about this shop so I'd thought I would go to frequency to see what they could do. I have been to several artists that had no real solution for my cover up because it was dark script. Robert took the time to talk to me , drew out the piece and sent it over to my email the day before. He did an amazing job and I'm already on his book for the next appointment. Honestly. Getting a tattoo with Justin Turkus at Frequency was the best tattoo experience that I've ever had (and it was my 11th tattoo overall). From the vibe of the shop, to the care and attention given to my design, to the amazing (like AMAZING) and meticulous work done by Justin while tattooing me--I cannot recommend this place enough. I drove 5 hours each way for to get tattooed by Justin and I'd do it again in a heartbeat (and hopefully will in the future!!). The other artists seemed extremely talented as well and everyone there made me feel comfortable and safe. 10/10. Definitely get your next tattoo here.

Booked with Robert for a detailed forearm piece after hearing good things from several friends who had pieces done by him- but the experience I had greatly exceeded my expectations. I interacted mostly with Robert but all the staff were welcoming and friendly, the atmosphere in the shop is so comfortable any nerves I had walking in were immediately calmed. There is friendly conversation between artists and clients throughout the whole shop, there were often times during my appointments where everyone in the shop laughed and talked all together. The shop is very clean, and each artist has a personalized space making it clear they are passionate about their art. While the atmosphere was always comfortable it was also very professional at all times. I never felt like I was being cared for by amateurs, or that a single detail was being overlooked. This is a clean, friendly, professional shop with great artists ready to work with you to create something beautiful on your skin. I will definitely go here first before any other shop for my future tattoos.

Great vibe, very cozy, doesn't make you feel overwhelmed like I have at other places (and I've been to many a tattoo shop) I have been tattooed by all of the artists that are there currently as of today, 7/24/16, And I've been happy with all the work they have done on me. John has been doing most of my work and he has a great artistic way with his work and has a very gentle hand. I DEFINITELY recommend coming here for all your tattoo needs!!

Had a great experience from first contacting Robert to the final product. He took what I wanted to do (only really had a somewhat rough idea) and ran with it, made it better, I love it. I gotta say also as a tattoo newbie they made me feel really comfortable at the shop and I didn't feel judged or anything. Really appreciated the time he took to adjust the image a bit, not rushing me into anything, and then explaining the whole care process because I was clueless, really. Anyway, just super excited with how it came out, and highly recommend Robert, and I'm sure they're all great!, for your next tat. Check em out!

When John found out it was my first tattoo, he offered to start off slow so I could get used to the feeling of the needle which was great. Horrible experience! Never go to this shop! Save your money. Save your skin. Save any trips to the dermatologist to get the tattoo removed. Please take my advice and DO NOT spend your money at this shop.

Called for availability walk in, the girl that answered the phone was very Rude! Showed lack of interest toward a new customer acted deff basically a lazy person. If you don't like your job get a new one! Will never be coming in here. Shows what kind of service you'll be getting. No good!
