Great experience today! I got a tribute tattoo for my father, who recently passed away. Andy did a great job coming up with a design and I’m super stoked with the result. Prices are very reasonable and the girls at the front desk are awesome, too! Thank you Andy, I will definitely be back!

As always, the staff is professional and courteous and go above and beyond to ensure your satisfaction at every step along the way!

I had heard good things from other people around central oregon so I decided to go with them for my first piece. I was very impressed with how friendly and personable all of the staff was. Emily was especially helpful with coming up with the perfect font, size and layout. I am already planning on my next piece and will be visiting Monolith next month when I have the money to do it.

Frankie Lesowske

Deke did the cleanest lines and shading across my peck and ribs. Dark shading that didn’t feel like anything and he’s a personable guy that understood what I was talking about and made sure I loved what I wanted. He’s a good affordable artist, I would likely recommend him.

Oceanna Walter

Their website is very knowledgeable and helps you get the information that you need.

My fiance and I took a trip to Bend, and we decided to get tattoos kind of last minute. We stopped by Monolith and they were all so friendly and welcoming. They got us an appointment for the next day, and Ryan was our artist. He was really professional and did an amazing job on both of our tattoos! We had a great experience at this shop, and will be returning (driving 10 hours) for future tattoos - that's how great this place was!

Just had my very first tattoo last night (I'll be 70 next month)! Thank you Andy for making me feel comfortable about the whole experience. I love my tattoo. Who knows, you may see me again in a few months.

Edward did a fantastic on the artwork that we brought in for me and my bestie of over 40 years when she was visiting from across the US from Vermont. It was whimsical and he had no problem doing it. I had consulted with two different tattoo studios and they both made us feel silly and treated the artwork (my husband drew it all out) like it was a waste of time. Not Edward! He made it a fun experience that my friend and I will cherish forever. Since then, two of my sons have gotten new tats from Edward and they are fantastic. All three of them (one so has gotten two) were original pieces from Edward and are fantastic! The studio was very clean and welcoming. Each staff member made us feel comfortable and like we belonged there. I am kind of a newbie to the tattoo world (I have one from about 30 years ago, one from last year and the new one from Edward), but I was still treated with respect and appreciation. I will get all future tats from Edward and send all of my friends and family!

Andy did a beautiful job and I couldn’t be happier with my new tattoo. I showed him a couple of pictures of ideas that I had, but neither was exactly right. Andy listened to my thoughts and created a beautiful rendering that was exactly what I had envisioned. Gonna be proud to wear this piece of art for the rest of my life. Thank you!

Kaleb Klein

Great place. Great atmosphere. Great people. I would recommend getting any tattoo here. From body suits to something small they have the experience to do anything

Candace Bemrose

Great place for tattoo removal. Katie is amazing! Scott Berg is the best tattoo artist.

I went here after getting some bad treatment from another shop in town. I first emailed Monolith then came in and talked to Emily who was super friendly both in person and via email. I then spoke with Kailah who ended up doing my tat. I had 11 tats and she made it number 12 and I must say her work is amazing. The studio itself is super clean, friendly and the work done by her was awesome. I hope to go back in the future for more. I tell everyone I know to visit this place and book some time with the amazing artists here. You won't regret it. I think this is the best tat I've ever had done hands down. Thank you for not only being professional but for making the time to talk to me prior to an appointment.

Andy did a wonderful job on my Oscar Wilde tattoo! He and the receptionist were super kind, easy to talk to, very knowledgable, and there to answer any question I had. They even made my sister comfortable as she waited while I was getting it done. Will come back and recommend!

Monolith is one of the cleanest shops I've seen, and I've been inked by many artists in multiple states. The staff was friendly, the price was reasonable, and my artist, Edward, did an amazing job on my tattoo. I highly recommend this shop!

Okay, I hate to do this but there are a lot of people in previous reviews that aren’t happy with the consult first concept, and frankly those comments while from one perspective seem valid, but after my consult and having my tattoos done, I am completely happy. Tattoos are a personal choice and it’s a relationship that you as a client and the tattoo artist must work to establish. Take your time, and go through the process, you should be happy. My artist—while I was getting the artwork completed—was skillful and careful. I didn’t feel much, and honestly I fell asleep... this may not happen to all clients, but I was extremely happy with the work.... My appreciation to the front of house and Keisha! I plan to be a repeat customer....

Best tattoo shop around Central Oregon!

My husband and I got matching tattoos. They turned out great! Thank you!

Let me just say at this point I want to get every single tattoo done here lol. The environment here is so amazing. Its calming and friendly and does nothing but make you feel welcome whether it's your first time or your 100th. From the very first second your greeted by 2 of the most amazing ladies I've ever met to check you in and explain everything. Second they have such a diverse selection of artists here that if you cant find what your looking for your not looking hard enough. Personally to start I'm doing a full Pacific nw sleeve so I chose to go with keisha and let me say if I could time travel I would make the same choice over and over again. She is by far the most non judgmental most patient and most all around caring person I could have found to be my "first".... and second and third( like I said. She is doing the entire sleeve.) I am almost 10 hours into my sleeve and she is just amazing. She is there to make money dont get me wrong, everyone is, but you would never know. She makes it seem like the only reason she is there is for you and for the art and I'm pretty sure that's mostly true. Nothing feels rushed and your not made to feel like a burden of you need a break. (Small bladder. My bad!) Bottom line, if you want a tattoo and you dont ar least go to monolith to check it out you are making the biggest mistake of your life.

Excellent tattoo and excellent service!!!

Deke did an awesome job with my tattoo, quick, efficient and crisp. I'm super satisfied, plus he was a nice guy to talk to. Setting up an appointment was organized and smooth as well. Would absolutely go there again.

Emmaline Schweis

Wonderful service! The owner came in to personally squeeze us in. Strategic artwork and great personalities. I would definitely reccomend checking them out!

Keisha O needs to find a new career! Before you go to Monolith for that new tattoo, READ THIS REVIEW!! I had a nightmare experience with these clowns. I chose them because of their high google ratings. Goes to show, you can’t always trust bogus five-star ratings. I sent Keisha three or four beautiful, realistic Buddha tattoos that appealed to me. The mess she made on my arm looks nothing like what I asked for. It is also so big and scattered, it’s proving extremely difficult to fix. I have seen three other artists since and I’m still trying to figure out how to repair this ghastly scar. The first other tattoo artist I showed it to just stood there scratching his head and staring at it for several minutes. Then he said, “What local artist did this to you?!” • Keisha claimed to be a “master of color.” Maybe if she was working at painting clowns’ faces for a circus! (The first pic is her original work; the other darker versions were another artist’s attempt to simplify the colors by using black, which didn’t help at all.) Keep in mind, Keisha chose these colors and she designed this piece. I don’t know squat about designing tattoos. I showed her what I liked and trusted her. Whenever there was a decision to make, I deferred to her judgment. BIG mistake! • Besides being a poorly drawn cartoonish version of Buddha, the tattoo is the absolute wrong shape for my arm. It is way too long and not full enough. Instead of emphasizing the natural lines of my bicep, it destroys them. • The tree is a disaster. It comes up almost directly out of Buddha’s head, with the leaves and branches shooting off at all kinds of odd angles. There is no naturalness to it. • The base of the tattoo is way too wide and it sits right along the narrowest part of my arm, then juts in. This destroys my sleeve line—one of the most important elements of arm tattoos, especially for men. It also has this weird straight edge along the bottom, making it look like a hatchet blade. • Then there are those funky things imbedded in the base that look like rotten, yellow teeth. And it’s huge! It’s just embarrassing and there is no clear way to repair it. One of my friends said it looks like it was drawn by a five-year-old! I have to agree. When I complained to Monolith about her “work,” they had me consult with Edward, their head artist and the owner of the shop. Just minutes after I told the guy I thought the tattoo was too long for my arm and the base needed to be covered with something more appropriate like a lotus flower seat—especially those yellow teeth!—the guy suggested drawing what looked like cartoon tongues dangling from the bottom, just below the yellow teeth, making the tattoo even longer, down past my elbow. They were supposed to be leaves or something, but they looked exactly like tongues. When I asked what color he was thinking, he said “purple.” I’m not kidding you. That was his solution. Drape purple tongues beneath the yellow teeth. It’s as if these people think this is a joke. I don’t get it, and I am definitely not laughing. If you are thinking of Monolith, run for your life! Don’t forget this is permanent ink. Some of these people may have done some okay work, but they don’t post their disasters on their website and my guess is many clients who have a bad experience like me are often too embarrassed to post about it. My take is simple: There are too many talented artists in Central Oregon to risk having a permanent disaster inked onto your body by a company that accepts NO RESPONSIBILITY for their artist’s messes.

My tattoo was done by Andy and its exactly what I wanted! Staff was very friendly and overall I had a very good experience :)

Very unprofessional. I made the appointment with them through Yelp and sent them all of the pictures and details how I wanted for my tattoo. And when I walked in, they looked at me like who I am and didn’t know anything. I needed to discuss again with the artist( the artist is only for walk in), even though I already spent too much time with them all the phone and made the appointment. And the artist didn’t do a good job at all ( actually he did good on one, and the other one was terrible). He kept try to make me to follow his opinions, even I already had my own style. For my first tattoo, I didn’t have any experience, that’s why I trusted him and think whatever, because my friend she really recommended me this place. Then my tattoo looked really bad after that. My friend she came with me and then she got shocked too. She tried to tell him what I wanted and he just tried to find another way to deny it and made us follow him and trust him. And my friend she felt awkward about it. Even I was not happy but I still tipped him 30%. Because I felt bad that he didn’t know anything or anybody told him that I will be his customers on that day and I liked the small tattoo he did on my wrist ( I did two tattoos on the same day) I will find the place to remove it. But very disappointed for the first time. I was so excited for my first tattoo and It was so hard for me to schedule myself a day off because I was very busy person. I may come back to give them another try for my next tattoo because my friend loves this place ( I am not sure when). But It’s not great experience to me at the first time.

I now have three tattoos from monolith, and all were done by different but equally amazing artists. The shop is really clean, and the staff is super friendly and welcoming. Every experience I have had here has been wonderful. I will definitely be coming back to finish up my sleeve. Best tattoo shop in central oregon!

Lauren Jenks

This shop is amazing, everyone I spoke to was incredibly nice and clearly passionate about their work. Deke is an incredible artist who undoubtedly deserves more than what he is charging. 10/10 recommend Monolith!

Have gotten multiple tattoos here and never disappointed.

Edward is a fantastic artist. He gave me exactly what I asked for and more. Overall, it took less time than what I thought it would, Ed doesn't waste time. The facilities are clean and with an artsy feel. If I go for another tattoo I'll be heading to monolith.

Delaney Vecqueray

Deke did an awesome job on my tattoo! Felt well taken care of and comfortable the whole time. Definitely will be coming back for more

So after 46 years of being on this rock, I finally decided to get a tattoo... After asking several of my sleeved friends, Monolith was my only option. Now its been about 10 days since I got my tattoo and I couldn't be happier. I waited a long time to find something I'd want on me for ever.... Maddy and Zachary were super professional and lots of fun as well. Thanks again to Monolith for this experience.

Loginn Johnson
