I'm not the best when it comes to pain, but my artist Myles does a fantastic job of getting through the worst parts first to get them out of the way. I've gotten multiple tattoos and have never been even a bit disappointed in them. If you're looking for a shop to get your next (or first) tattoo, High St Tattoo is the place to get it

Would not recommend to anyone. My artist, Chad, offered me beer during the tattoo session (which he himself drank), and did two tattoos on me - both text. I should've walked then. Over a year and a half out, they are raised/scarred (despite perfect after care), and the lines are so shaky and blown out on one in particular that it's not even funny. When I originally brought this up with Chad (after allowing for a one month healing process), he gave me excuses about how ink can bleed out when there's no color/background imagery to compensate for it, how everyone heals differently, blah blah blah. Bottom line is that this was basic line work, and no "artist" could possibly be proud of it. The only good news is that its simplicity will hopefully make it easier to cover up or laser down and then cover up.

Awesome place. Clean, professional, and full of super nice people. It's a really nice change from the usually elitist attitide of so many tattoo shops. I've been getting tattooed since the 90s and I highly recommend getting work done here. The person I see there is Ian Friend. Amazing artist and a cool person.

This place was horrible. They were incredibly rude and obnoxious. They wouldn't even give me a tattoo. I asked to see the sketch that the artist had drawn but they would not let me see it. After arguing with them for 45 minutes. They accused me of bleeding everywhere and kicked me out. I wasn't bleeding though..... The manager that I was mainly arguing with, smelled like weed and whisky. While at work, really? He couldn't wait until he got off work? I was being extremely polite and he was being a smartass with everything I said and could not comprehend anything that I was saying. Possibly from the weed and alcohol. I already had the sketch drawn and when I showed him the sketch he started degrading me on my penmanship and also my idea of the tattoo that I wanted. I do not recommend this shop, AT ALL

I’m currently seeing Ian for a full back tattoo that has 3 coverups within it. I have a couple sessions left but always amazed of the outcome after each session. Ian is an exceptional artist with amazing detail in his tattoos. I have previously went to him for another coverup on my leg and he did amazing work on it. I already plan to use him for more tattoos in the future. The rest of the staff is friendly and welcoming, as well. I love when Jimbo! More pics to follow when complete.

I recently went in for a large scale piece by Haley Zontini and I couldn't have been more thrilled with the results! She partially stenciled and hand drew a beautiful rose vine over my knee cap, and it turned out beautifully. The whole outline took just over two hours and it's a huge piece! She works fast but the lines are very clean with no blown out sections or variation in the width, which is very impressive given the curvature and rough areas on a knee cap. It healed quickly and easily, more so than other tattoos in the past! The shop is nice and Haley is the consummate professional collaborating and redrawing until we got it just right. I highly recommend her!

Would not recommend this place. The artists are very rude and not very talented. I Was told there would be a 45 minute wait and then when I came into the shop minutes later I was told it would be a 3 hour wait. So I made a call to another local shop to see if they could get me in. At this point I was cussed out by a few of the artists. They then proceeded to kick us all out of the shop. I understand that could of been rude to make a call in their shop but I didn’t even think about it being rude and they could have simply told me it was disrespectful instead of cussin me out. There was no asking to take the calls outside or anything. Instead I was immediately cussed at by multiple artists. The artists are extremely rude and immature. I have also since heard many stories of horrible tattoos from this shop. I was in a rush to get this tattoo and unfortunately came into this shop against the suggestions from friends and other shops and regret even having met such rude and fowl people. DO NOT GO HERE

I recently had a tattoo done at High Street Tattoo. My artist was Zack Wolf. Zack was very polite and professional throughout the entire process. I was scheduled for May 31st at 11:30am, and I arrived about 15 minutes early. Zack was already there and ready to start my tattoo. Zack did an excellent job with every part of the tattoo, the level of detail is amazing. Everyone in the shop was very polite and professional in every way. I certainly appreciate the level of artistry that Zack displayed, but his very personable demeanor and ability to put you at ease puts him at the top. I encourage anyone in the market for a skilled tattoo artist to go and see Zack Wolf at High Street Tattoo, you will be glad that you did. Although I only had a little contact with the other members of the High Street staff, they all handled their business with the same level of professionalism that Zack displayed. A top notch tattoo shop in all regards.

I messaged Brian on Instagram originally not knowing it was his day off and he still made time for me and helped me schedule time to see him ! Then when I got there he was super fun and made it so comfortable for me while he tattooed . Not only that I came in with such a simple design wanting it to be better and he added way more than I could have ever asked for ! I’m super happy with my new favorite tattoo and will definitely be booking with Brian again ! Everyone says they are over priced but I disagree you get what you pay for and in this case I paid for quality !

In the past year, I’ve had 9 tattoos (including a large coverup and a full sleeve) done at HST. Blake Hall is my artist and I can’t say enough about him and his work. His lines are so solid, his colors are bold, and he is very light handed. As far as tattooists go, he’s top tier - and not just in his preferred style, but overall. About the customer service: Blake is always so good to me. If something I want isn’t feasible, he explains why (for example, asking for something too small where detail would be lost) and works with me to give me a stellar tattoo. He is friendly and checks with me often to see how I’m feeling, if I need a break, etc. The manager, Chris, and all the other artists are always super friendly to me and supportive of each other. The atmosphere is warm and inviting and really just the kind of place you look forward to visiting. In the past year, I’ve probably spent no fewer than 36 hours in the shop. I’m frankly appalled by any negative comments made in other reviews. Overpriced? When it comes to tattoos, you get what you pay for. I’ve had less expensive tattoos and the quality is not the same. I’d rather pay now for work that will withstand the test of time. Not getting exactly what you wanted? These artists know what they’re doing, you don’t. They aren’t going to do something that’s going to turn out illegible or generally bad looking. Go in with your ideas, but be flexible. They’ll work with you to give you something that will likely turn out better than what you pictured.

My girlfriend and I both went for a walk in and luckily Brian helped us out. The tattoos turned out phenomenal. He was really cool, helpful, and on top of it he made us comfortable for our first tattoo. I highly reccomend this shop and asking for Brian. He is very talented. I will be back for sure when I'm back in Ohio.

Wouldn't recommend Joey knuckles. He did a tattoo on me a couple years ago that I just recently had fixed. And it wasn't even that he was a bad tattoo artist it was that he was disrespectful to me my friends and my wife. He was upset and cussing at us because the tattoo he did wasn't good. After years of searching for the perfect artist to start my sleeves, I landed at High St Tattoo by way of a friend's referral. Biggs did my artwork, we was extremely thorough and made sure to double and triple check everything to make sure it was exactly what I wanted. He was quick, the tattoo was virtually painless, and my healing has been a breeze! Best line work I've ever seen! Jimbo that handles all the booking and customer service is the man. He worked with me to get me on the schedule so that I could get my work done on my birthday which was a very busy Saturday for the shop. All in all, every artist is great, cool to talk to, and take great pride in the fact that people come to them to put their artwork on their bodies to show off for the rest of their lives. There is NO other shop I would recommend in Ohio. Top notch my dudes

Highly recommend. My artist was Haley, and she was great. Very friendly and talented. As soon as I started talking with her about my idea, she seemed excited about it which is important to me. She did a lot of the work free hand which I think also speaks to her skill. My sister had a tattoo done the same day by Biggs, and it is gorgeous. We are both very happy with the work we had done, and I am looking forward to going back in December to have my tattoo finished.

I have been to High Street Tattoo 3 times over the past couple of years and each time, I have had work done by Zak. Zak is so kind and funny and always does his best to put me at ease (I hate needles and I’m fairly certain he can tell I’m a bundle of nerves when I go in). Zak is very professional and listens to what you want and discusses his ideas with you to make sure they line up with what you want. The first time I went, Zak did a cover up for me of a watercolor tattoo I was not too happy with that I got at another shop. Zak added some floral work and really brought the tattoo to life for me. The second time I went in, I got a song quote done on my wrist by Zak, and he added some really nice black work touches to it. I went in recently about 3 months ago to have Zak add more floral work to my arm and I’ll be returning again soon to add to it. I have gotten so many compliments on my tattoos from Zak. His artistic range is so awesome (check his insta if you don’t believe me!) and the atmosphere in the shop is always lively. I highly recommend High Street Tattoo and Zak!

I've been to a few different tattoos places around Columbus but this is my absolute favorite. The vibe and energy here is so positive from the moment you walk in the door. I believe they have nine artist there and all of them are so nice and so polite and so kind. Everybody just talks to each other throughout the room and it's just like one big happy party. Shout out to Brian Favello who I absolutely love his artistic ability ( he does my tattoos). It's always a great experience from start to finish. I always leave there happy and satisfied and just in a great mood. I would definitely recommend this place to everybody that's interested in getting a tattoo.

Drew was my artist and I HIGHLY recommend him. He was very professional and made my wife feel very comfortable while I was getting my ink. The prices were a little higher, but for something that I don't get a "do-over" with, I was willing to pay for quality. I received a simple black/white, but I would go back should I want something more elaborate. My artist was Blake Hall who was not only talented and friendly but attentive. Didn't make me feel like another bill. All the artist were friendly which these days is hard to come by. Not to mention his line work is phenomenal among other talents. High street will be the only tattoo parlor I'll be going to anymore.

I've been getting tattooed at High Street tattoo for over 7 years now. I've had three different artists, including the owner Giovani, and have had nothing but positive experiences. II got my first tattoo there when I was 18 years old. I was nervous, but the staff made me feel right at home about it. I actually went back withing a couple days to get tattooed there again. I have get complimented all the time by the work i got from them, and I am never disappointed. I've recommended them to everyone I know, and I am getting my girlfriend her first tattoo from them soon because I believe in them that month. You cannot have a bad experience here.

I visited Columbus with a friend and we decided to get the tattoos we had been talking about for a long time. Her brother, who lives in Columbus, suggested a few places. We stopped here first, and I wish we had never set foot inside this establishment. It looked okay, but as soon as we told the "owner" that this tattoo would be to celebrate my friend being done with chemo (for almost a year I might add) he FREAKED OUT!!! He was a complete ignorant fool, and began stating absurd medical facts to me, a nurse, about how she is sick and told us to get the hell out of his shop. What was suppose to be a life long memory of our bond as she went through chemo treatment and was a survivor, was crushed. She is not SICK! He treated her like she would infect everyone there and he was so loud and aggressive. The whole shop was starring. Talk about embarrassing. I hope he or his loved ones never receive this kind of treatment after battling such a trauma in their lives. LUCKILY we went a couple blocks away and had a FABULOUS artist as well as a welcoming staff. I should add this was in 2014, but I ran across thier page and still get vey upset at the treatment we received so I thought I'd write a review. We are again going to the other shop for her birthday in a week to get tattoos. They have our business!!!!

My friend and I went to High Street Tattoo for our first ink years ago. Every review you're reading on this site about cleanliness of the store, calming atmosphere, great artists with awesome attitudes is true - they did everything possible to make us happy, and give us as much information as possible to be confident in the work we were having done. As someone else mentioned, they aren't on the cheap side, but as it goes with tattoos, you get what you pay for. At HST, you get quality.

The artists are good. I was a walk-in and waited about 2 hours, which was fine because it was a Saturday and they were legit busy. The artist I was assigned to had to go home so I got assigned to a new artist, who was also in a hurry so it was rushed. I almost walked out and said forget it because I didn’t want a rushed tattoo, but I already waited 2 hours and drove from the Dayton area to get it done, so I wasn’t leaving without a tattoo. They are, however, overpriced. My tattoo literally took 7 minutes to do from start to finish, it is all black, and no shading or anything. All straight lines (I got a very simple arrow). I paid $120. Anywhere else it would have easily been an $80 tattoo. After tax and a tip, I paid $155 for a tiny tattoo. Minus being overpriced, I would recommend this place to someone, but only by appointment. Skip the wait and being tossed between artists and avoid the risk of being rushed.
