OK i went all over st.marks looking for a good price and good quality. Whatever Tattoo had both, best price I came across and when the piercing was done it was straight and correct, used gloves clean needles the whole nine yards. The service was nice. The two women in the front were nice and friendly we even joked alittle cause i have so many piercings yet I still freak out. But the guy who did my piercing was just plain rude and unfriendly. He kept giving my boyfriend the evil eye cause he was in his light which is understand i told him to move over but I mean that was just uncalled for and when i tired talking to him just nothing no answer no comfort nothing he was just plain rude if i didn't get recommended by other people i would of just walked out. IDK bout the tattoo guy he seemed more alive when talking to customers. but yeah the women- great. the piercer not so much. overall I am happy with the piercings and glad I went thru with it.

Got a piercing done there the other day. I was in and out in less than 15 minutes which is awesome. And the price was great too...I was about to go to a place that was almost 80 bucks right down the street from there but fortunately this place popped up on my map app and I said whatever...long as I get my piercing done. Then I was plesantly surprised that the price was half that of the other place and that was including jewelry. The lady running the place was a sweetheart, the guy doing the piercing could’ve talked a little more with me, espcially since I was on my own and a little nervous (the piercing process was the very definition of wham, bam, thank you m’am, lol) but overall it was a positive experience. They were clean, professional and quick as hell. I would go there again.

Amazing tattoo done. Ask for Herman. Worth the money, and very professional. If you can't afford it, save money and come back later- most places on St.Marks are jokes of tattoo parlors and are made to cater to drunk people making mistakes. Whatever Tattoo takes their job seriously and is a wonderful experience altogether.

Disappointed & upset! I visited with a friend who had her ears pierced here before. She had a good experience and I had high hopes as this was my first cartilage piercing, but I was upset because the piercer pierced my ears before I gave consent. He drew a tiny dot on my ear to mark where the piercing was going to go, and when I saw it in the mirror I didn't quite like the placement. I verbally commented, OUT LOUD, that it was too far in for my liking and then began talking to my friend, when the piercer came in on my ear again - I assumed he was drawing another dot (as he had done on my friend who was pierced just before me) but he was actually piercing my ear. I had no idea he was going into pierce my ear at the moment. I felt betrayed that he had taken advantage of the trust I put in him to pierce me, and especially because I was high key considering getting pierced on another part of my ear instead due to the placement issue. Since the piercing process was swift and didn't hurt at all, I do believe the piercer was extremely skilled and the shop seemed very clean. But he clearly did not care about my comfort or my satisfaction, which is what I was paying for. I just felt violated.

Awesome staff and the best prices as far as I'm concerned. I got my septum pierced about a month and a half ago and I felt absolutely no pain. The piercer definitely knows what he is doing. Will be going back for future piercings

Love this place! It's very casual as far as tattoo and piercing shops go, so if that's not your thing, then you should probably go somewhere else, but Iove the vibe! I've gotten four tattoos (including my first one ever) from here all from different artists and they've all been great. Quality employees with a no nonsense approach. I've recommended Whatever to a bunch of my friends!

Got my micro dermals on my back dimples there and was pleased with the placement even though one rejected months after. One healed well the other didn't because he did not put it in deep enough so it kept getting caught. Definitely was one of the pricier places on st. marks so I probably wont be going back. Addiction tattoo also has good piercers and better prices a few steps away from their store.

This place was super nice. I went for a helix cartilage piercing. I can't remember the name of the girl who helped me, but she explained the whole process, really friendly. She answered all my questions and gave me info on how to treat my piercing. The whole set-up was sterile, she used a new needle, just really professional. Only cost $25 and they sell the sea-salt cleaning fluid for $5 (I think). If you're new to piercing, I'd definitely recommend!

Shout to Jeff!!!!! He is the best piercer I've ever had and I've had about 10 piercings! The process will be as priceless as possible. He knows what's he is doing and will make you as comfortable as possible. Don't let this sleep on you he makes everything as simple as possible. Went to get my smiley piercing done, the woman at the front was very nice but the actual piercer was sort of hostile? My friends also felt the same vibe and what’s hilarious is that he became friendly AFTER I tipped him. Also he did not use a clamp which resulted in a crooked smiley but the piercing did heal perfectly. Glad my piercing didn’t get infected but wasn’t extremely happy with my experience.

Not the cheapest tattoo option on St. Marks, but if you are going to get one while browsing through that sketchy area, do it here. There are some tattoo shops on this street that definitely are not safe, so it's better to pay a bit more for a good tattoo than risk getting a messed up one somewhere else

I called up the day before I intended on going to Whatever Tattoo to get a quote on the piercing I wanted, two microdermals in my collar. The gentleman over the phone gave me a great price. Just to be safe than sorry I confirmed that I did not need an appointment, he said "Yeah, you should be fine just walking in." The next day after lunch I called again, before heading over there, to be sure a piercer would be there to take me. This time the gentleman on the phone was hard to understand, I told him I was heading over for two microdermals and that I wanted to be sure they are there. It took a minute to convey I wanted them done and not removed. Once he understood he went on to inform me they did not have them there. He redirected me to "the other shop" which upon looking up I found to be in Brooklyn.

Very clean, very nice experience. The tattoo artist was very forthright about what we were getting (mostly text, with an intricate font), and I really liked that. The piercer was amazing and looked like Ezri Dax, for all you Star Trek: Deep Space 9 nerds.

I unfortunately had a very bad experience with this shop. I came as a walk-in with my boyfriend looking to have "XI" tattooed on our inner arms just above our elbows to have as a memory for our trip to NY. We requested to have it done by the same artist to have it similar as possible as we know it can be very obvious sometimes when it's been done by different people. One of the artists, Eric (I believe was his name?), rudely replied "Why? Why not feed both artists? You'd also finish much faster." Seeing that this was just roman numeral/linework, we figured, fine, there couldn't possibly be any variations or issues with something this simple, and yes it would be done much faster. While having it done my arm had nothing to rest on and was in an awkward unextended position held with my wrist uncomfortably in his armpit. I bled and felt quite a bit of discomfort for such a small tattoo which I thought it was odd considering I have a tattoo in the same spot on my opposite arm, as well as several other tattoos. It also felt like it took much longer than needed, but I figured, they probably know better than I do. The artist my boyfriend had was very quiet. No introduction and did not give a heads up that he was even going to begin tattooing. When the tattoo was finally done, I could see there were sparse spots of ink underneath all the irritation. It looked like he had tattoo'd deep with not much ink, causing the discomfort and bleeding. Basically just cutting my arm. The guy handling our payment as well was very rude and barely spoke to us, treating us like we didn't know how payment worked. Couple of weeks passed and my arm was still extremely sore and irritated even though I followed the aftercare given to me. Scabs would fall off along with all the ink and beneath was just raw and still sore. Two months later, it's finally settled down and now I'm left with a scar where there was shading and a tattoo that very obviously needs to be redone. Because my tattoo was done in such an awkward position, at rest it appears wonky. TLDR; Poor customer service, poorly done tattoo resulting in nothing but a scar. Shop's name suits its service well.

This is an exceptional piercing studio. I went in on a rainy Wednesday evening about 2 weeks ago and got a second piercing on each earlobe. I used to go to a little shop at the beginning of the strip that is now closed. Admittedly, I used to pass this shop all the time when I was younger and I never went in. But I'm glad I gave them a chance. The gentlemen in the studio are inviting and the space is clean, well lit and organized. The piercer, Tito, has been practicing this craft for 18 years and his skill was exemplary. He was very friendly and knowledgeable and so were his colleagues. Tito was even gracious enough to let me ask their opinion on the placement (I'm a perfectionist, you see lol) and he even readjusted the placement for me when I requested it. The experience itself was great. All the tools were sterile and Tito showed me each needle that he was using before he pierced my ears, he told me when he was going to pierce me and the whole experience was fun, relaxing and painless. And as an added bonus, the pricing was excellent! ($50 dollars for both lobes, jewelry included) I will definitely be back for my next piercings and recommend them to everyone (seasoned and newbie) who's looking for a great piercing studio that is reasonably priced. Thanks a lot!

the person who pierced my ear was very nice. everything was very sanitary and very safe. the piercing was done with a needle. i remembered i came here last year when i was 17, and i was unable to get my piercing because i was underage. i am glad that they are a safe and responsible company—checking IDs and doing a thoroughly good job.

The women who worked the desk were incredibly friendly and helpful. I'm scared of needles and fainted after getting my piercing, but they forced me to drink a soda and stayed talking to me until I came back to. And the piercing was quick and orderly and looks good.

Just had my ears pierced in my high lobe, it was $35 including jewellery per ear and the piercer Tino was extraordinarily professional, comforting and pedantic about the spot in which the piercing went. Thank you so much Tino I had a wonderful experience. Would highly recommend. Also they’re the cheapest option on the strip.

So went here with my friend while she was getting a small tattoo on her hip. The guy tattooing her was so incredibly rude. Did nothing to make her feel comfortable, and wouldn't make the corrections in the stencil she was giving him. He said he'd just freehand it. So he gets down to business, and wouldn't let her hold my hand when she asked. It was obviously in a pretty tender area and she doesn't have the highest pain tolerance. So I start talking to her trying to get her mind off the pain, telling stories, and the guy finally tells me to shut up and stop talking. So we sat there. In silence. While he did NOTHING to make this a pleasant experience for her. FOH staff was also nasty.

Couldn't remove a screw top nostril stud, then completely messed up my rook piercing. 2 months of no healing and I had to take it out because it was so bad. No titanium jewelry and little jewelry to choose from in general.

This place is great! You MUST use Tino for piercings. He puts you at ease as well as uses new clean equipment which he shows you before piercing you. I got an industrial spontaneously without knowing the maintenance it needed. After 3 days I got sick of it controlling my sleep so I went back and he helped me make up my mind. He cleaned it and was willing to switch out the bar for hoops to help make myy sleeping easier but I decided that I will get it again in the future but he was very helpful and listened to my concerns && all for free. As I was leaving, he even gave me a discount card for next time... while this is already the cheapest & cleanest looking tattoo/ piercing parlor on the block! TINO IS THE MAN. You'll love him! I will not go to anyone else when I decide to get pierced again.

I was a walk-in to get my ears pierced (second piercing) and the staff was awesome. They were super quick and I think the process was done in 5-10 minutes to check my id, sign the paperwork, and get both ears pierced. My piercer was super respectful and checked with me about the placement on both ears before going in and piercing. The price includes the jewelry and I think that it's definitely a great spot. I'll be going here for more piercings and my next tattoo.

I got a bulk of my piercings here back in 2011-2014. This was my go to shop. The prices were great, and I've never had problems with any of my piercings. I still get complemented on the placement from other piercers today. I loved the vibe here and wish I lived closer.

I had a line work tattoo done here and it’s completely uneven and spotty. It was only my second tattoo, so I didn’t really know what to look for. It wasn’t until I was getting another line work tat in a different place and my artist commented on how he could “fix that for me” that I realized how poorly it was done.

I’ve had really bad experience with them. To be honest, only with one of them. I came to this place to do new tattoo on my finger. Nothing complicated, nothing hard. The man that tattood me, were very unpleasant, nervous, and not nice at all. He did very bad job, and the tattoo looks like was drawing by a 6 year old. A day after I’m going to another place to do cover on it. NEVER will come back to this place
