KICKASS TATTOO SHOP! The staff is here is kind, and just plain awesome! My tattoo is absolutely amazing and I couldn't be happier! I walked in wanting a wrap around ankle tattoo and Spencer knocked it out of the park. One of my best tattoo's - clean lines, even artwork. I will definitely be coming back! THANKS SPENCER!

I attended the opening party for this place of Tattoo Art. What impressed me most was the professional atmosphere with a family overtone. Everyone was pleasant and the tone that was set by the old time pressed-tin ceiling left in tact from the previous venue was warm and inviting. All an all an old world feel with a new wave vibe. I would do a tattoo here anytime. Love this place.

I came in for the $35 Flash Friday and automatically knew this was a good shop. The customer service is the best. Serge (I hope I got his name right) is a great host. You could tell it's a real family oriented shop. I have a bunch of tattoos and they treated me like this was my first. Making people feel comfortable is their specialty. I popped in today to get my cartilage pierced and it was a wonderful experience. I got pierced by Spencer (who also does tattoos) and he did a great job. The shop was clean and everything he used was sterile and new. I also love that I got to choose which type of jewelry (studs or hoop). I went with the stud and I couldn’t be more happy. The process was quick and it was just a slight pinch. Spencer also provided me with aftercare instructions, you can tell he really cares about his clients and the quality of his work! I highly recommend him and this shop.

I cannot speak highly enough about my experience with Redink. Spencer did a piece for me that I am head-over-heels in love with! He took his time drawing out a beautiful outline from some truly terrible sketches and pictures on my phone, then shaded the tat in ways that I could never have imagined. I had to leave in the middle of inking to go see a show, so Spencer wrapped me up and I came back 3.5 hours later and he finished it! The detail and emotion Spencer put into my tattoo was incredible and the next time I am in New York, I plan on seeing him again for another piece. One of the owners (I think Serge) came in and chatted with me and my friend while Spencer was working on me. He was super friendly and really added to the whole experience.

Tattoo shop is so mint looking. Definitely gives a lot of class compared to most tattoo shops where you're feeling like you in a hole in the wall. Reclined tattoo seats, great lighting, perfect lounge area to chill in why you wait. The artist are very talented and go over the top to satisfy you. Highly recommend you guys/girls to stop by and give it a look and see what they have to offer.

I went to redink and worked with Spencer because he is a true artist when it comes to old school tattoos, minimalist tattoos, and very distinct, concise and elegant lines. He exceeded my expectations. He's not only an amazing artist but a very funny and welcoming person. I ended up getting two tattoos that day and my boyfriend got one also. I will be coming back within the next month or two to get more. Please stop looking for tattoo shops because RedInk is the best one out. (P.S. he showed me and my boyfriend the needle cartridge that he opened fresh out the pack before he began the tattoo process. Talk about feeling safe and taken care of!!)

Amazing artwork & by far the best staff. I went to Red for a cover up and brought two people along with me, one of whom was getting his first tattoo. Sabrina did theirs and was incredibly kind and patient, making sure to review every detail of the design & placement for a nervous first timer. Red did mine and went WAY beyond my expectations, creating beautiful art where a simple design had once been. Spencer has also helped us out with problems from a previous piercing (gotten elsewhere but redone here), going above and beyond to make sure everything has been fine since then. All have gotten to know my foster kid and make him feel comfortable the handful of times we've come in. Since then he's been talking about wanting to be a piercing artist just like Spencer.

Spencer drew a beautiful addition to an existing tattoo of mine BY HAND. I got very lucky that being shy sent me somewhere I could book online. The studio is beautiful and clean, and everyone is kind, accommodating, and well organized. It was also quite nice to be on a quieter block in the center of the city compared to many older studios, which, while still cool in their classic configurations, are much more cramped and in the midst of chaos. The pricing was also *beyond* reasonable, which I say as someone who hails from the Midwest and was expecting to pay much more. Do go!

Red was amazing, he drew my design quickly and how I wanted it, joked around, and then, boom, I was done. Great spot. Popped in after someone told me about and highly recommended them. Didn't realize a tattoo/piercing business was new to the neighborhood. Wound up purchases a nose ring since it refuses to close. Spencer, the piercer asked me what kind I was looking for and found exactly that and put it in for me. He was super nice. I had gone in to get my daith piercing removed, and I was extremely nervous because I had changed my tragus piercing on my own and it was a complete disaster. Spencer the piercer was absolutely fantastic! It was super quick (literally took less than a minute) and was completely painless. He did a really great job and made the process a lot easier. 10/10 recommend if you ever need a piercing removed.

I had the spontaneous urge to get a tattoo the day before my birthday and it happened to be on a Sunday evening. I wasn't able to connect with any of my usual artists/shops due to the short notice. I wanted to find a shop that I could trust to deliver quality work on short notice; I have upwards of 16 tattoos, so I've become pretty particular over time. The reviews for Red Ink were consistently good and they were one of the few places still open on a Sunday night. I strolled in after 10pm with nothing but a rough sketch and some loose guidelines, and Spencer transformed them into something that was even greater than what I expected/imagined. He thoughtfully took his time with the design and even adopted some of the aesthetic of another tattoo I had after asking me what I thought of him doing so. I was comfortable during the entire process and we had some great talks while he was tattooing me. All in all--I would definitely recommend/return. Thanks again!

If I could give this studio 6 or 7 stars, I WOULD! For my 29th birthday I wanted to get my first tattoo. I knew what I wanted, (a small rising sun on my inside elbow), but I really didn’t want to pay an arm and a leg for it. And I wanted a fun, friendly, clean, chill environment. WELL, did I find that and then some! This studio’s vibe is super chill but still artsy, clean, welcoming, hip, and just all around perfect. I was greeted promptly upon entering and from that moment on, the experience was excellent! Spencer was my artist and he was very thorough making sure he understood exactly what I wanted, I showed him a picture and we chatted about it. He gave me a price, drew up a sketch, I asked to see it just a little differently, he re-sketched with no hesitation and what he brought back to me the 2nd time was absolutely perfect! I had my 2 best friends and my husband with me, and Spencer provided chairs and waters for all of them while they watched me get my tattoo. Spencer was informative and assured me that everything there were using on me was brand new (new needle, etc.) and sterile. His work was EXQUISITE! I am SO happy with my first tattoo and I will never go anywhere else for my future tattoos.

I decided to come in because they were having a special where 1 piercing was $20, 2 were $30, and every extra piercing was only $15 more (super great prices). I just walked in and I was seated to get pierced like 5 minutes later. The piercer's name is Spencer and he's super chill and assuring about the piercings and he definitely helped with my nerves. I got a orbital, a forward helix, and a lobe piercing. The forward helix was a little rough but the other two went really smoothly. He took his time and was meticulous about making sure the piercings were put on well. He was also sure to show everything he was using was sterile and new. Also, he was really patient when I asked him to adjust the marks where the piercings would go. In conclusion, I definitely recommend this place. Make sure to follow their Instagram because that's how I found out about the special.

Phenomenal! Seriously, no-stress and no-drama kind of a shop with outstanding artist. Stumbled upon the shop while I was walking back to my hotel. I did not expect to get ink during this trip but schedule an appointment for the very next day. I was paired up with Jonathan, who did an incredible job on my latest addition. I went in to add a third piercing to each of my earlobes. I'm so happy with the results...Amazing job by Spencer! He was so nice and super easy to talk to- you can tell he's very skilled and knowledgeable about his craft. The place is very clean and well-done. I had previously gone to another tattoo/piercing studio in east village a while back wanting the same, and the guy there told me it was too risky to do a third on my lobes without hitting cartilage, which I didn't want. He also didn't want to do it because he thought it wouldn't look good and didn't want his "name on it." Luckily I went here instead! Spencer took one look at my ears and told me he could definitely give me what I wanted, no problem. Piercings are two days out and are healing so nicely. Thank you again!!

I got my first tattoo here last Thursday as a walk-in. Nothing about the experience could have gone better, and the whole evening is one that I’ll remember and cherish for a long time. (They even offer drinks, like water and coffee ) Upon meeting red he was very kind, and understanding and a talented artist. Very cleanly and not heavy handed at all, he transformed the idea I had into a wonderful piece I will cherish for years to come. He was very detailed with how to take care of the tattoo and unlike other places handed out a paper with the steps to take care of the tattoo. They even offered all natural tattoo salve! This place is great! I went there to get a couple piercings and was able to walk in and out within 30 minutes. Don did such a great job on my ear piercings! He made me feel comfortable and explained everything he was doing before he did it and showed me the sterilized needles and jewelry. Red did an amazing job on my nose piercing. After weeks of searching and checking out many instagrams, the ease of setting up an appointment for consultation for my dog's pet portrait at Redink sealed the deal. The studio is inviting and the artists and owners are very helpful and pricing super fair. I had my pictures and searched through Red's "resume" book of all the detailed work he had done and I knew he was qualified for such a detailed project. A smooth 2.5 hour session and the portrait could not be more perfect. The shadows, shading and small details of whiskers, eyes and ears were spot on. Will definitely be back for more.

I chose a design I really liked, and my artist Spencer helped me choose the best placement for the piece. I initially really liked the design, and by the time the tattoo was done I was completely in love with it! Having not been pierced since I was a teenager, I stopped in last night to get a second lobe piercing on each ear. I'd only been to piercing pagodas before (with those scary loud piercing guns) and really wanted to go to a piercing shop this time around. The shop was clean and spacious, and the guy at reception was very nice. I only had to wait a few minutes before I was seen. Spencer pierced both ears seamlessly. He walked me through everything, showing me new sterilized needles he'd be using on me (they use one per ear and don't reuse them). I picked out which studs I wanted, which were also in new, never opened, sterilized packaging. After cleaning both lobes, he placed dots where he thought they would go. I checked them and approved. I was a little nervous but he was so chill it was easy to relax. He did a great job and the piercings only felt like a little pinch. He worked precisely and quickly. Afterwards, he gave me aftercare instructions and his contact information. I am super happy with my piercings and the service I received. I couldn't recommend this place more.

I wanted a minimalist version of the painting "The Kiss" by Gustav Klimt, and I got exactly what I wanted! It was my first tattoo, and I was worried I may faint because I have something called Vasovagal syncope (occurs when you faint because your body overreacts to certain triggers, such as the sight of blood or extreme emotional distress). Jonathan "Quest" did my tattoo. He was very friendly and made sure I was comfortable and doing well the entire time. It hurt way less than I thought it would, and he got the tattoo done quicker than he estimated he would. The tattoo was on my ribs, and Jonathan did a great job not having too heavy of a hand or anything like that. My tattoo has healed nicely and I haven't had any trouble with it so far at all. The photo I'm attaching is after about one week of getting the tattoo.

Through out the years the work that he has done on my has been amazing and I continue to go back to him because of his personality and his amazing talent. His new shop is incredible. I am not usually one to write reviews online- but today is the day (and because this place truly deserves it!!!) I had been contemplating getting another cartilage piercing for quite some time and had been doing an extensive amount of research before stumbling upon this place. No other place I was considering had 5/5 stars for pretty much every single review and so I thought to myself, there must be a reason for it! Well I was right!! I called them beforehand to get details about pricing, jewelry options, etc and they were super nice and helpful- and the experience in person was no different! I walked in and was immediately greeted by the extremely friendly and welcoming staff at the front desk. They make you fill out a release form on an iPad (very advanced lol) with all the pertinent info- and no sooner then that you’re in the chair ready to go! Spencer (I believe was his name) was the one that pierced my ear. His calm demeanor and sense of humor immediately put me at ease. He was so patient with helping me chose the precise placement of the piercing based on the location of my other ones. He opened the package containing the sterilized needle, clamps, and jewelry right in front of me and showed me as he was doing it, which I really appreciated. The piercing itself was relatively painless and took no time at all. Spencer took the time to explain the aftercare instructions and made sure to ask if I had any questions. The entire experience was so pleasant and smooth, that I will be sure to return if I decide to get any other piercings in the future. My only regret? Not finding this place sooner!! Couldn’t recommend them enough!
