Over the last year I've gotten two pieces done here and i loved the shop. However, i booked an appointment about a month in advance with a $100 deposit but lost my reciept and i didnt remember the exact date i had my appointment. It took me two days to get in contact with the artist and once i he answered he informed me that i missed my appointment and that i would have to put down another $100 and that the first $100 we're basically gone. My issue is that at no time did i recieve an email or a phone call reminding me about my appointment, the shop made absolutely no effort to contact me at all. I honestly feel like i was scammed out of my money. Every other shop I've made appointments at have contacted me at least once before my appointment, if not more. They lost a very loyal customer today!

I went to Gnostic and worked with Maggie Brophy recently. I didn't come in with an image or anything, just described what I wanted and asked her to draw it. Not only was her first try pretty much perfect, but the tattoo itself seems flawless. Minimal swelling, no bleeding. It looked great from day 1, none of my friends could believe that it was new. I'd recommend Maggie highly.

I loved this place, I was lucky enough to notice it whenever I went out with my mother in the area, and being I was looking to get a realistic lion done on my upper right thigh, I had to look them up on Instagram and through the quality of their work and their personalities, I liked what I saw and I booked an appointment. Got tatted by Leaf, brilliant guy, amazingly skillful. I was impressed by his quality and use of the needle. Definitely a professional who knows what he’s doing. Everyone else working there was so nice and open. I loved talking to another artist while getting tatted at the same time. Kindly allowed breaks whenever I asked (only needed two pee-breaks within a little over than 3 hours of tattooing cuz I’m odd like that) Very safe and open space, I love the decorations and the music, very homely in my opinion. They provided me with great information for tattoo aftercare. My tattoo healed perfectly (still healing deeper layers) but after two weeks, the surface layers were beautifully healed. Will be coming back here for more in the future. Prices are reasonable and for the quality of their work, I don’t argue. Do come here for amazing work!

I met Maggie and Mel, both were so welcoming and professional, Maggie was the artist for my friend’s tattoo which came out amazingly and she took time to make sure he placement was what my friend wanted, very patient and sweet and her art is amazing, wish I had time to get my tattoo there

Super chill and friendly environment, has the flare of a traditional and well established tattoo shop but with none of the aggressive mentality. All the artist portfolios are well worth the trip and definitely worth the price, I highly recommend Maggie and Leaf.

My go to spot so I figured I should throw in a review. I’ve been tattooed 6 times at Gnostic. 5 with John and once with Lina. John has amazing line work and recently we threw some color on the latest tattoo and I love it. Lina is amazing and did a badass job shading. Everyone there is super chill and welcoming - I’m always comfortable when I’m there and I’m sure you will be too. I’ll be going to Gnostic for as long as I’m in NYC.

10/10 would recommend Maggie to anyone. She is so cool and kind. I brought in a print from an artist I was working with and she recreated it perfectly. Her original work is beautiful as well. I will definitely be seeing her at Gnostic again. Gnostic is clean and has a really laid back vibe.

Good vibes tattoo parlor. Very friendly. Incense air, Drake soundtrack, nice things to look at including funkyart, lovelyplants + shimmerfish. Cash only, $100 minimum–drawback if yr not used to ny/bk prices, but a good tattoo is worth money than money anyhow. Couple of talented female tattoo artists, which is always great. Main dude name Leaf, another v good thing. Very open people/ok place to be high
