Love Pete's shop! He does all my work and will assist you in getting what you want - he even drew on me with a pen and let me live with something overnight when I was waffling between a couple directions.Traditional, authentic, old school tattoo shop. Great conversation, great music, clean, sanitary and professional. Ignore the pissypants trolls that are butthurt about who knows what, I am a woman and this shop couldn't possibly be better toward women, that's utter nonsense.

I am a repeat client and everyone in the shop from the owner to the other tattoers have been nothing but gracious and sweet. They have always treated women who walk into that shop with respect. The previous reviewer that posted about the owner is obviously lying because i know for a fact the owner does not drink. Which should call into question what she is saying. Being a true Brooklynite if you let your dog pee on their door people get mad. I would if your dog peed on mine. If you are you realize how dirty and stinky it gets because other dogs start seeing there. As a shop owner you keep your clean or you get a fine, I guess she really understands how New York works. Ha. Also when posting reviews about a local shop that actually does help people in the area, it would be useful if you actually visited the shop.

It's too bad the owner of this shop is a belligerent dullard or I would have considered getting my ink touched up here. I walked past the shop with my 13 pound service dog who marked outside of the building. The shop owner came out a minute later and began screaming from half a block away. He was slurring his words (it was barely noon on a Wednesday), shouting and cursing at me. It would have been one thing if he approached me respectfully, but he was frighteningly hostile and aggressive. I'm originally from the area and work for a non-profit of 600 people just down the street from this shop. I'll make sure to tell all my friends, family, and coworkers to skip this place. I certainly wouldn't trust someone with such severe anger issues to tattoo me. (I'll also say my combat veteran husband walked past the shop several times, letting our dog relieve himself. To my shock, the owner wasn't motivated to come out and scream at him).

Looks like a cool tattoo shop on the outside but the tattoo artist isn’t very skilled. I wanted clean lines but my tattoo ended up being spotty.

Pete was awesome I have got several tattoos there. I look forward to getting more and anyone who wants a cool tattoo at a reasonable price go there if you want a hipster to kiss your ass this might not be the place for you. P.s. to that other reviewer who had her husband (combat veteran) dog pee on the door try that by me and he will have wished he never came back from iraq,Afghanistan or whereever he went to get away from her nagging

Nice place, close to the subway ! I get my tattoo for “cheap” and the result is clean !! I can’t wait to come get another one that could match this one and fit my leg !! Designs are sick !!!

I was reading some of the other reviews and it is curious and sad that the woman with the dog posted that bad review even though she has never been a client. I know how hard those guys work to maintain a clean environment and she is maligning them because they were upset that her dog peed in the doorway. What a snowflake!!! Also why malign these guys with lies like they treat women poorly and hate dogs, what is she trying to prove? She implies that the owner is an angry drunk, but if she actually knew him she would know he doesn't drink . Guess she is one of those people who proves we can't have anything nice in this city. This place is an authentic old school tattoo shop that is straight to the point, clean, and do great work. I have been getting tattooed for years and these guys are good fast and very reasonably priced which is rare these days. These guys rule get tattooed by them!!!

Designs are great in concept, terrible in execution. Not to mention how rude and condescending the owner is. I honestly don't know how the other two artists work there or withstand the type of person he is and how he expresses himself. How you treat someone is how you treat everyone so if you really want to succeed and grow take a look inside yourself before you speak, if your comment or insult adds NO value to another person, why say it? Thank you for being a tattoo person; not even artist; from whom I'll never get anything from. People like these are disgusting.

I’ve know Nate one of the artists at Do or Die tattoo for 14 years, he’s not only a extremely talented artist but an amazing person. Also If you ever need a good book recommendation chat with the owner, I’ve gotten some good ones.
