I have been here twice for tattoos and they never disappoint! I worked with Eric Shire both times, but all artists there are really nice and amazing. They want to make sure you're as comfortable as possible. Some stations have TVs so you can choose something on Netflix to watch while getting your ink, they also have some couches in the waiting room. All stations have their own cubicle, and this place is extremely clean. I have followed them from their old location to their new. Highly recommend, I wont go anywhere else.

I was tattooed by Carlos Cordova and he was extremely patient with me and my reactions to my first tattoo, even as I was nauseous. Highly recommend for first timers and I look forward to returning to get my next tattoo! You will have to schedule ahead of time but it is well worth the wait for the quality and care provided.

Our band (partymachineband.com) had a gig last Saturday and it was one of our members Birthdays', so we decided to get tattoos (why not, right?) Mind you, we are from Dallas, so locating a Tattoo shop, let alone an amazing one was a bit tricky. Meghan greeted us and immediately made us feel at home. Myself, as well as the other girl in our band both got small pieces done by Meghan, who was just as sweet as she could be. She was insanely quick but precise, and gentle. We love our tats and the experience! The Birthday Boy received his first tattoo and the artist took the time to explain the process and the instruments used, as well as put up with all of our questions and hovering- LOL. The Studio was clean, inviting, and comfortable. We had a blast and if we ever make it out that way again we will definitely be stopping by!

I csnt believe I never reviewed this place. I personally got a half sleeve nine tails tattoo a few years back here. I absolutely love it this.mans a magician. Even those it's very soft orange there is no fading, there is no scarring and no raising at all. Could not be happier with it.

I'm a youngish, mid 50's, woman. I have a very, very rare medical condition that has me on oxygen, and destroyed my skin. Think 80 year old crepe paper type of skin. Aldo not only saw my challenges, but took them on as his own. He did the most incredible portrait I've EVER seen on my upper arm. Besides the fact that Aldo is an AMAZING artist, he is an AWESOME hooman!! The shop, clean, organized, professional!! Definitely recommend 100%!

I decided on a larger piece and Carlos went above and beyond what I expected not only in the sketching but in the work itself. She's friendly, quirky, fun, and extremely professional all in one. Tattoos i've gotten have healed great, look great, and were done great. What's cool about this girl is the fact that even if it is out of her comfort zone, she'll learn how to do it just for you, and she rocks it ! every single time. This girl is amazing at what she does, definitely goes over and beyond for all of her customers. 10/10 would recommend her to ANYONE.

She’s an extremely talented artist - she created an amazing neo-traditional leg piece for me based on ideas and photos I brought in (and with no artistic inclination of my own to share). She was friendly & communicative, and took extra care to make sure everything was comfortable, safe & sanitary during my session too. This place is awesome! The shop is really nice, very soothing and beautiful aesthetics. I had the pleasure of working with Meghan, who is an incredible artist. I'm the type that gives a basic idea of what I want, and then allow the artist to do (kind of) whatever they want. Meghan checked all the boxes - asked me about my other tattoos, took pictures of everything else I had, and then drew me up something that was her own take on what I had going on. The piece she put on me is a very welcome addition to the few that I already have. I've very glad to have chosen Archetype and I will be back.

I've been to many different tattoo shops in Albuquerque to find the best place and Archetype is the one! My tattoo artist is MEGHAN MUND and she is AMAZING! Not only is her work beatiful, she makes me feel comfortable! She is professional throughout the entire sitting and sets up right in front of me, so I know what she is using is sterile and clean. She works with me and my ideas and gives me suggestions from a professional standpoint, if she sees fit (which I appreciate so much!). I've been seeing her for months now and each of my tattoos by her have been stunning and healed up so well! I am always impressed with the results. You can clearly see she is passionate about her work. I highly recommend her if you are looking for a tattoo artist.

I had a eyesore of a tattoo on my forearm that was pretty damn big. I had a few artists tell me that it would be possibly impossible even one told me that I should consider laser removal. I was a walk in and the girl up front got me Carlos. I think he was a little skeptical because the size but he went at it. He did an AMAZING (for lack of better words) job, you can't even tell it was a cover-up. He exceeded my expectations by far. Thanks for all your great work. Can't wait to come back for more work.

Tattoo shops and tattoo artists can be very difficult things to rate objectively. When you get something on you that from then on out will help define you, it’s all too easy to develop an immediate bias: namely, you have “your guy,” “your shop,” et al. One person’s good experience, however, can easily be another’s mediocre one, and it’s not because of any artist’s aptitude, but because of everyone’s unique sensibilities and values. However, I can, with confidence, say that Archetype Dermigraphic Studio is indeed MY shop. I have had several wonderful experiences here from several different artists. I cannot personally recommend any one over another, because, like I said, I am trying to be objective, and my tastes will differ from another’s. Although my projects vary in style, each was executed flawlessly in a comfortable and clean environment; everyone here is both extraordinarily talented and genuinely an awesome human being/absolute pleasure to be around for a few hours! To paraphrase what one artist here once told me, there is too much talent in this city to stubbornly stick to one tattooist your entire life. That said, the congregation of artists who work here ensure that I never have to search far for a “new” artist. What I can say wholeheartedly is that no matter what you are interested in adorning your body with, Archetype WILL have an artist whose style can fulfill your needs. Props to the staff as well. They immediately make you feel at ease and at home way before you even get to the fun part of getting tattooed. They care about their clients as much as the artists themselves. During my most recent project, for example, they were sure to always keep in touch with me via email and social media, weeks before I even physically entered the shop to begin the work. Also kudos to the monthly Art Fusion for a Cause events. These are not only some of the most fun and enjoyable evenings of the month, but proof that this studio truly cares about the community that they serve. If you are currently in the process of researching shops, consider this as your first outing! Enjoy a brew, meet the artists and staff, and win something beautiful for a good cause.

This studio is great! I got my first tattoo while my wife and I were on vacation. Everyone we talked to was nice and helpful. Meghan, our artist was especially rad and also gave us some killer dinner recommendations. The shop is very clean. I can’t compare it to other shops but even the bathroom was very clean! They also focus on keeping the tools and the body part clean. They also provided an aftercare kit and we got suckers for not crying. I wish my doctor was this nice! If we are back in Albuquerque we will be back here for more artwork!
