Just got my 3rd tattoo from Ryan Spangler, he did an amazing job again! Took my 2 sisters with me and they each got their first tattoos ever. Ryan explained the process to them and put them at ease. He was very patient and the atmosphere was relaxed and not intimidating at all. Thanks again to Ryan and the staff!

This is a very nice tattoo parlor. The place is very clean and organized. I have received quality work from the artists I have been tattooed from. Keep in mind, this is a walk in shop so they do not take appointments. If you are going to attempt to go on a Saturday, the line starts forming around 10 even though they dont open until 12. They only do single session tattoos. I will for sure be going back to be tattooed again. I also plan on visiting their sister shop, Liquid Courage for a larger tattoo I have in mind.

Great group and great prices - updating this review as well! Excellent place, great for an amazing tattoo generally the day of. Don’t forget you can call ahead to see how long the wait is, and than go depending on that - they cannot offer a placeholder, as that is their parent shop, Liquid Courage. I walked in and spoke with the girl at the desk who was doing not much, and she was clearly irritated by my presence. I guess because she had to answer my 2 questions (but she did get to be rude when answering so I feel like that evens it out) and get up to grab a form and copy my ID, but I digress. I was told it would be 60 minutes, 90 at the most. There was one person ahead of me, and the artist was finishing dinner. No problem! So, they get started and 90 minutes comes and goes, and they finish. Awesome! I'm getting butterflies (excited/nervous) you know the feeling. But now all of a sudden there's another person ahead of me? Well now that's odd because nobody else walked in. Ahh, but see there was a family and apparently Mom decided at the last minute to get the same tattoo as her kid. So, now it's going to be another 45 minutes because Devin and Dan decided to do them at the same time. Look, this is a walk in shop. I get it, you have to wait. But, this wasn't cool. Devin said my tattoo would take 4 minutes to draw and 10-15 to complete, so why not have the mom wait? I don't know, but that was all I needed to hear. My time is valuable too, so that's where my wait ended. I'm disappointed, but oh well! There's plenty of parlors to choose from.

This is a great place if you want a simple tattoo. I've been here twice and the staff is great. I brought in my own designs and they transfered them beautifully! Very reasonably priced too.

Wow and amazing. Recently my girlfriend and I went there with our own ideas and sketches, hoping to get close to what we wanted, and boom - mind blown! Her's was exact, but the skin art was way better than the color sketch she hoped for. A+ and thanks Dan. As for me however, I spent months thinking and hours drawing the tattoo I was wanting, but knowing Devin's work and reputation, I told him to simply use it as a guideline and just roll with it, so he he did. In 20 minutes on paper he shamed my months of thought for the better, but the artistic outcome on my arm was breathtaking. I would have imagined it to be great because all his work is, but I'm still shockingly amazed and still almost speechless about the outcome of a couple hrs time. The perfection of the smallest detail and sheer beauty of the art wasn't all, but the professional talent and courtious kindness went a long way with me from both Dan and Devin. I must also point out the patience of Devin, because of my low level of pain tolerance and the way I acted during the process, he was understanding and didn't show any frustration (though I'm sure he was). I am not benefiting in any way from this review, nor was I even asked to give one. My name is Josh from Saturday September 2nd, '17, and I just want anyone that reads this to know about my most recent ink experience, and anyone on edge or hesitant about this shop to feel more at ease. I've used 3 other shops in the past, but Sailor's Grave and Liquid Courage are now my home for future body art, and I can't give a big enough shout out to Devin and Dan for making a painful experience enjoyable. I can't think of a way to show more appreciation, so a simple thanks will have to suffice. Thanks guys, and we'll be back

Poorly run shop. Stood in line before they opened, talked to one of the artists when they opened at noon, was told I could get in near the end of of the day (6:30-7), came back at 6 and was told that I should have waited in the shop until I got in. I won’t be back to try again.

overpriced and rude staff. Went in and the staff member who was just standing around think his name was Asa made it seem as though it was an inconvenience that I was even there. Spoke with him briefly and got a ridiculous quote for more than double of anyplace else in town. As far as I'm concerned they have lost my business permanantly

I was visiting my mom for the weekend and wanted to get matching tattoos for her bday. We went to Sailor's Grave and showed them our idea and where we wanted it. Nearly 2 hrs later, we were tatted and happy. Asa was our artist and he was very personable.

I absolutely love this tattoo shop. So far I've gotten two tattoos and have received great customer service each time. The last tattoo I got I had to wait 4 hours to get but it was worth the wait. It was an awesome experience from start to finish. Ryan did my tattoo, and it turned out amazing. I come in with a quick sketch of an idea, and he made it even better. He had a couple ideas about it, but I wasn't a fan of the ideas, and he wasn't rude or a jerk about me telling him I didn't like that idea. When getting the tattoo, Ryan was a neat guy to talk to. I will definitely go back to Sailor's Grave!

Fantastic experience, amazing artist! I came in from out of town for a tattoo by Devin. He was phenomenal to work with. The shop was great and the artists/staff were friendly. Devin took all of my ideas and pictures and came up with something WAY better than I imagined. Very respectful, neat little extension of Liquid Courage, that helps take care of the smaller tattoos so people who want an artist from Liquid Courage but don't want to wait weeks for it. They were friendly and helpful and did my friends tattoo for a great price. They were also very honest with me when I asked about getting my tattoo touched up telling me "I would have to charge you $60 just to open a needle. Don't make me charge you that for that small of a touch up, wait until you get another tattoo or until you touch up both." It's great that they were so honest with me! I highly recommend Sailor's Grave if you're getting a small-er tattoo or making an appointment at Liquid Courage if you're planning on a large one!

It took me years to start getting tattoos again after my experience here. The most painful couple hours of my life. Felt like someone was carving into me. It literally looks like i had my cousin dwayne make a tattoo gun and ink me up behind his trailer after he had been on a 3 day whiskey binger. I wanted a pin up girl,and ended up with what looks like an oompah loompah outlined in crayon. Super thick black lines about a quarter of an inch thick. When i have to take my shirt off in public, which i i hate doing because of the abomination on my back, i feel like im being judged. I dont blame them. I have a tattoo that is on par with wearing a mullet and a fanny pack and drinking a steel reserve in my american flag speedo.

Love this shop. Have been tattooed by Ryan Spangler several times and am always amazed at the quality of his work. His designs are bold homages to the forefathers of American tattooing. His colors are the brightest around—probably because he makes his own inks and crams them full of pigment. And on top of his talent, he’s just a nice guy that goes out of his way to make sure you have a great experience.
