Sid Liberty is a terrible piercer. He is very rude to his clients. I am honestly surprised he is still pricing considering how rude he is. I accompanied a friend to get her nose pierced. We were told that Sid had many years of experience and was an excellent pricer. He walked in to the shop and didn't even introduce himself. He shoved the needle through her nose without marking the spot or even giving her much advanced notice. He also did seem to care when she told him the placement she wanted. If you want a good piercing go to St. Louis or Kansas City. I wouldn't trust this shop to even pierce my ear lobes.

I have gotten two tattoos done here. Both done by the same guy and both done as walkins. Jay was very professional and was great. He joked and talked to me the whole time and took my idea and made the perfect design. It may be expensive for some people but its worth every penny.

Very rude, out of the 3 times of being there with a friend while getting a piercing they are so rude and unfriendly and dont even make a mark to see if you like the placement. They also had my friend pay before the piercing which isn't a big deal, but asking if she wants to put a tip on there is. You don't ask for a tip.

I went into Iron Tiger to meet with Lars in March 2014. I brought in pictures for what I wanted, got a quote and was told to come back later in the month. When I came in that "scheduled" day, my tattoo wasn't drawn up so I had to wait an additional hour and a half. BUT - Once Lars showed me what he had drawn, I was over the moon impressed - it was gorgeous! He then proceeded to tell me that it was an additional $100 more than what I was quoted. Obviously I spoke up and reminded him what he had quoted me, and he honored that. Perhaps drawing up tattoo's in advance would prevent so much miscommunication. My tattoo has many fine lines, and after the healing process it was obvious that I needed touchups. I went into the shop two or three times to be told that Lars wasn't available and that I should just "shoot him an email". I've sent him two emails now with no response. My overall outlook on Iron Tiger (in regards to Lars): Bad Customer service, Egotistic artist who thinks he doesn't need his customers, Overpriced (but great art work), Unreliable...just super disappointing. I've never been so neglected by a tattoo artist before.

I'll never get anything done here. And wouldn't recommend it to anyone. One of the pierces was extremely rude to me for no apparent reason. He didn't "feel like" preparing the room properly and was aggressive when I asked him a question about the piercing. I think if you're doing something to someone's body you have to be patient and willing to answer questions they have and be respectful of their decision to decline if they decide to. This man was straight up garbage and shouldn't be working with people. The guy working the Front desk was generally unfriendly. The rest of the staff was kind and seemed to enjoy being there.

The wife and I went to get tattoos. She got hers done no problem. My tattoo was apparently was to much for them. They only had one person look at me and he "didn't want to mess with it". Then i got asked if I was a cop like that had something to do with it. Do they not like cops? I got my last tattoo there 10 years ago and it was awsome. I wouldn't give this place a second look now. My money will be good enough in a better artists hands.

I have been to iron tiger for a majority of my work. I typically am extremely pleased. I've never had any issues. November of 2015 my husband and I got matching tattoos by Apache Collin.... I immediately had concerns when I seen how it began healing. Mind you, that was my 11th tattoo? So this wasn't my first time caring for it. I reached out to Collin via Email within a month of getting the matching tattoos, (which is how he requested we contact him in regards to a touch up.)He said the tattoos needed more time to heal and to contact him again if we were unhappy. I recently contacted him AGAIN via email.. only for him to NOT RESPOND. So I reached out a 2nd time within a week... NO RESPONSE. Well here we are, almost year later. Our tattoos STILL have NOT been touched up! The color, is faded terribly and they aren't even a year old. Paying for a tattoo, and being snubbed when you need a touch up ISN'T okay. Period We will never return.

Pricing is way too expensive for the quality received and overall. Went to get lip tattoos with 2 friends and asked if there were different prices based off of different fonts. They told us it was a flat rate of $80 and did not allow us to choose from fonts. Instead, they free-hand drew it and tattoo'd it. Mine turned out diagonal and looks like something I could have done myself in the mirror! My friend's faded that night after 2/3 hours, so I called the next day complaining and was told "that is something we tell people before they get them, that they fade". We fought with them over the phone and finally were able to schedule another appointment for 2 weeks later (to let it heal first). The guy redid hers, yet it faded again by the end of the night! I don't know if the guy just didn't know what he was doing or what the issue was. A girl did mine and it has not faded much, yet still looks laughable from the slant and free-handed font. But moral of the story, they come off as they do not care about your preference, unfriendly, quick to get it done/over with, DO NOT give you any options or care about your ideas, bad quality, and way overpriced.

I have three orbital piercings in my ear and had to remove them for an event. I stopped by another shop nearby and the piercer tried to put them back in for nearly half an hour. My ears were swollen and bleeding. I stopped into Iron and Tiger, hoping for success, but already mourning the loss of 20 year old piercings. Sid had my piercings in within minutes!! Cool guy too. If you want an experienced piercer with a passion for the business I highly recommend Sid Liberty.

Went there for a super small piece just this past weekend with some friends (one who was getting a tat and another was getting her septum) and Morgan was literally the best tattoo artist I've had. My design was simple and pre-made, so I can't really say much on her artwork, but she was super fun to talk to but also wasn't wasting your time. She got through my friend and I in MAYBE 45 minutes total, not even that, and the healing is going great. I was always a hard ass and said I'd only get ink done in St. Louis, but my mind is officially changed. Can't wait to have her do my next piece!

Iron Tiger is the best place to get tattoos in central Missouri. These artists are the best around. If you're looking for an American Traditional shop, this is definitely the place to go. They can also do anything you ask for. I got my first tattoo there by Gabe Garcia, the owner, and he worked with me on a design until we perfected it. I've been tattooed by Dan Ryan 3 times there and his work is awesome. He will work with you and he really knows his stuff. I definitely recommend asking for Dan. He can do it all. My girlfriend and another friend of mine both got tattoos from Lars and they both really enjoyed their experience. The tattoos were great too. The walls are covered with art that is original by the artists, so if you see something you like, ask who did it and I'm sure they would be glad to hook you up! Anything you want done I'm sure the guys at Iron Tiger will blow it out of the water. Great place, great vibes, great dudes!

Went in for a piercing on Sunday, and I was wary because last time I came the guy up front was friendly but the piercer was "hangry" (so hungry, he was angry). This was a far more pleasant experience. The gentleman that was piercing was very nice, made sure I was please with the location of the jewelery before we pierced me, and cleaned me up a few times before I left. I highly recommend going on a Sunday to see who I assume was Sid, rather than going to Living Canvas.

Honestly the rudest I've ever been treated. I went to get my nose pierced and I was worried about the placement of the hole when he was marking it on my nose. The guy instantly go extremely defensive and said I wouldn't do a bad job on purpose I know what I'm doing. Then I had 4-5 friends with me and they were all in the room watching with a couple standing in the hallway. He said for everyone to come in because we don't need to crowd the hallway (keep in mind we were the only people there receiving service). He seemed like I was wasting his time just because I wanted it to look perfect on my nose. As soon as I was fed up with the way I was being treated and asked for a refund he yelled to the cashier she's flakin out, give her her money back but keep $10 because I got set up (which included a grand total of 2 needles). Maybe the guy was having a bad day but it felt like he hated me to my soul. Worst first experience ever.

My co-workers and I all got piercings here. The guy who pierced us did an amazing job and was very patient while we took forever to decide what we wanted. He was funny and joked with us and made us feel comfortable. The rooms are private which is nice. I've seen a lot of tattoo shops that are just wide open and the most privacy they offer is a little curtain. Well this place had rooms and it was very nicely laid out. They also have a massive amount of good flash art (mostly traditional style from what I saw.)

My boyfriend Justin Haas and I recently relocated from Kansas so that he could work at Iron Tiger Tattoo. This is his first time moving with his career, and our first time out of our hometown. I couldn't suggest a more talented shop to someone wanting a new tattoo in Columbia. Iron Tiger is filled with interesting, intelligent employees who are serious about their work. The owners Gabe and Lee have gone out of their way to make this move easy for us, and are some of the nicest people we have met in the city so far. I would recommend this shop not only to a person wanting a great tattoo or piercing, but also to someone who cares about their experience. The shop always has music playing, and has a huge floor plan with private rooms for each artist. The counter guys are always enthusiastic and happy to talk to every customer. It's also nice that the individual artists take their time to talk to you about your tattoo before you make that final decision. "Sid Liberty" is one of the shops piercers and has an endless list of experience with one of the biggest personalities I have ever known. If you're interested in quality, price, experience, and outcome- I recommend with the most confidence- Iron Tiger Tattoo.

Extremely disappointed. Not only was the wait time to just look at the idea long but was treated extremely unprofessional by tattoo artist. We went in to get an ankle tattoo and had a few ideas which were all rejected. "As a tattoo artist I would not make this idea into a tattoo" he said. Which is interesting because I thought tattoos were unique to the individual but I suppose not at this shop where the only tattoos that can be done must appeal to the tattoo artist I mean he did say "he couldn't see what I was thinking" I guess he's right a tattoo artist isn't creative and isn't suppose to be able to help put a piece together according to the customers desires (sarcasm). He also told us we needed to make an appointment for a small ankle tattoo, when I called that day I was told no appointments were necessary and that I could just walk in but I guess that was a lie. He said he doesn't take appointments over the phone because you can't make desposites over the phone or draw for free but that's confusing because the guy who answered the phone said no appointments were necessary?? Maybe everyone is just confused there. Either way I'll be taking my business elsewhere maybe living canvas down the road who seems very welcoming and not opposed to the idea.

He was very pleasant and gave suggestions for the design and placement of the tattoo. It was very clean and it was obvious they knew what they were doing.

This shop would be getting 4.5 stars on the tattoos themselves I've gotten here. The staff are wonderful and were very patient with my girlish screams. One of the tattoos I got was a little bit crooked and uneven in some spots, BUT you'd have to be looking extra closesly and who is going to do that besides me? Ha. However, the pricing of this shop is entirely outrageous!! I got a penny sized tattoo and a line work tattoo on my back that maybe took 10 minutes. Extremely simple. And I paid 300 for the both of them. I paid 350 for a VERY intricate detailed tattoo on my thigh somewhere else and the amount of time (15 minutes) and simplicity of these two tiny tattoos was not at all worth the 300 i paid for them. I walked in with a tattoo idea and design. EVERY idea or suggestion towards MY tattoo was immediately shot down. I specifically told her them that I would like to have a real looking rose tattoo and not the old school traditional, the design she came out with was literally the old school traditional I specifically said I didn't want. Wasn't unique in any way, shape, or form. Then when I told her that I wanted something more unique she immediately got defensive and told me how she spent 3 hours designing it, it literally looked like something she pulled off of the internet. Hands down worst experience I've ever had.

I have been going to Iron Tiger Tattoo for the past three years, since moving from Washington State. I enjoy the professional and welcoming atmosphere. The guys and gals at the shop make you feel like one of the family and they are more than willing to work with you on your design ideas and future ink endevours. Gabe Garcia has recently finished my sleeve and i cannot be more pleased. I get compliments on it where ever i go, and cant tell enough people where i would go if i am within a 3 to 4 hour drive of Columbia, MO. This shop as well as Tattoo You are both the epidomy of what a tattoo shop should be, they are very customer oriented, clean, have individual private booths for all of their artists, as well as very reasonable on great skin art. I will definitely be going back to these shops when i am back in the mid west. Great bunch of people doing what they love, and making other peoples lives better and brighter because of it.

They are super cool people and I ALWAYS recommend them to my friends when they ask where to go for piercings/tattoos. :) my mother also has ALOT of tattoos and ear piercings, and she only goes to Iron Tiger. Went in today to get my second ever tattoo done and it was an amazing experience. I just moved here from Springfield so I wasn't sure what people recommend. Even as a walk-in, it was really fast to get with the artist (Pablo) and get it done. It was a kinda pricey, but for the quality of the work it was most definitely worth it. I highly recommend this shop to anyone who is looking to get a good tattoo with professional staff.

Been a customer of Iron Tiger since 2011 & I have had nothing but good experiences. Staff have consistently been professional, friendly & courteous w/me when arriving for appointments. Every time I go to Iron Tiger I love the environment. Music is playing, artwork is displayed and there are individual rooms set up for each artist for customer privacy and comfort. Not once have I felt that I was treated differently because of my ethnicity/culture. Staff & customers are all diverse & I have not witnessed staff treat anyone differently because of this. Gabe Garcia (owner) has been phenomenal to work with. He has done the majority of my work (a full sleeve & 1/2 sleeve) and I always receive compliments on my tattoo work. He has been willing to accommodate schedule & art design. During my sessions I've been able to interact w/other artists/piercers and they make it a fun/relaxing environment to get a tattoo in. I would get work done by anyone who is employed/guest artist at Iron Tiger as they are all talented. I would also recommend this shop to anyone who wants to get their first tattoo or who has been getting tattoos for a while.

Easily the best tattoo shop in Columbia. It's clean, well lit, and the staff is professional. The artists do great classic Americana art, so if you're military they've got exactly what you're looking for. If you have an idea, bring in a sketch and they'll work with you. While I was there, I saw them work with people who wanted pop culture and nerdy designs too. Best if you make an appointment and put down a deposit if you want to pick an artist's brain, walk ins are a-okay but it's barbershop rules and they're popular for a reason. Definitely worth the time and travel.

I have been going to Iron Tiger and Tattoo You for years! I cannot rave enough about the great guys and gals that work there. Its not just your typical tattoo shop. You walk in and can immediately see all of the awesome hand painted art work that lines the walls all one of a kind. The guys behind the counter are very helpful answering all of your questions but that's just the beginning. I have received some of the best ink from Gabe Garcia. I literally cannot walk around without someone complementing the original pieces that I have. I typically bring in my own ideas and he makes them even better than I imagined! The piercings that I have received are clean and very well done and I have never had any problems with them. The shops themselves are very clean and up dated every time I walk in. I read a few other reviews about wait time. Well my suggestion is if you walk in prepare for some kind of wait time that's why its called a walk in. This will be my forever tattoo and piercing home!

I have been pierced here before and each time I have come in, I feel very comfortable and treated as a valued customer. Moe was the artist who tattooed my ankle and after showing him what I wanted, he made an even better design. He made my first tattoo experience incredibly comfortable and worry free. He distracted me while doing the tattoo and informed me of all the after care procedures I needed to know. I will absolutely be coming back to iron tiger and to Moe for more piercings and tattooes.

Through the years of going to tattoo shops I have been to bad shops, good shops, great shops, and Iron Tiger Tattoo. The atmosphere of Iron Tiger Tattoo is unmatched in my experience. The location in Columbia, MO is directly in the center of everything. When I walked into Iron Tiger Tattoo I was greeted by an employee who had genuine appreciation of my business and was immediately there to help. The artists in the shop were all very friendly and eager to help and tattoo the people waiting in the lobby. Iron Tiger Tattoo is a very clean shop, as it should be due to the nature of the business. When it came time to be tattooed the artist I was paired with was eager to help with my design and make sure I left with something I was excited about and proud of. Once we finalized the design and got to actually tattooing the artist made every possible comfort available to me. The artist's passion in their trade shows through in the fact they constantly check on each others works in progress and encouraged each other in their art. The Koi fish quarter sleeve on my arm is my most complimented tattoo, and I only have Iron Tiger Tattoo to thank for the tattoo. There is literally no other option for tattooing in Missouri than Iron Tiger Tattoo in Columbia, MO.

My experience tonight was EXCELLENT!! From the man who greeted me at the front and helped me fill out my paperwork to Sid who pierced my nose, everyone was friendly and happy. I was nervous about getting my nose pierced but Sid made me feel comfortable. He did the piercing quickly and expertly. I would highly recommend Sid and Iron Tiger as a whole.

I got my cartilage pierced at Iron Tiger about a year and a half ago. The experience itself wasn't too terribly painful and they give you good advice as to how to take care of it. The reason why I am giving them 2 stars is because of what is happening over a year later. I originally got a hoop put in. Once it had healed, I replaced it with a stud. Ever since I have replaced it, I have not been able to get the hoop back in. When I try and do so, my piercing swells and starts to bleed. There has also been a bump behind my ear ever since I got the piercing done. I have had cartilage pierced at other places and did not have any of these issues, which is why I am giving them the rating I am. I didn't have problems with the service, just the quality of piercing.

If you need piercings, tyler is the go to guy i came to him because another shop had jacked up a piercing i wanted so he helped me take it out and re did it on the other side of my face. The dermal had rejected he took it out and i let it heal and he re did it for me. He is so kind i know i will not go no where else now for a piercing. If i could give him a 10 he would get 10 stars. Called in 2 hours asking for an opening, was told that we needed to just walk in and that we would be able to get in. Drove an hour an a half to get a small pair of angel wings. Was told there would be no detail, needed more reference pictures, and that the idea wasn't good. Sat in the lobby for an hour waiting for it to be drawn up just to be told that he couldn't do it. Not professional at all, super rude.

We were greeted and welcomed once we walked into the store. The tattoo artists that did our tattoos were very kind and treated us very well. It was up until my 2 year old son who was sitting in the lobby began to cry for a matter of 10 seconds, when the man at the front desk (salt and pepper hair, short black beard) told us my son needed to leave; either to the restroom or outside. We thought it was a joke but he repeated himself and walked away. I thought that was a bit ridiculous because kids cry and no one else around us was bothered by his short cry for 10 seconds. I think that was very rude. He obviously doesn't have any kids. Other than that, the other guys there were super nice and friendly. Maybe they have kids so they understand.

Sid Liberty (piercer) is quite possibly the rudest and most unprofessional person I have ever met. I have been coming to Iron Tiger for years for tattoos and piercings, but will NEVER return because of the way I was treated by him. I came in to have 2 sternum dermals removed that I had had done there by Hunter, 1 month ago. By the way, Hunter was wonderful to work with, and told me several times if I had any problems or questions during the healing process to just come in, no charge. Unfortunatey they rejected, which I knew was a possibility. When I arrived they said Hunter was not their but Sid could take them out and that he would be back in about 20 minutes. Not a problem at all I sat and waited. The minute he walked in he was gruff and rude, asked me to show him my piercing right there in the lobby. Said they both needed to come out and go back to the room. I stood there shocked unable to speak... the young man at the counter just stood there as well. I went back to the room, he told me to lay down put on ONE glove, grabbed hemostats from who knows where and proceeded to roughly take them out. He grabbed a paper towel and shoved it in my general direction when done and said "Here, your done. You can pay at the front." Pay?, I ask. I relay that Hunter told me to come in, and he cuts me off and says Im not Hunter, I don't care what he said. With that I gathered my belongings, PAID, and left in tears. Horrible and degrading experience.

Called ahead to see the availability of walk-ins and got, "First come, first serve." Okay, so we go in and ask for two VERY simple, small tattoos. Quoted $150 each, dude was SUPER rude and dismissive. Not sure if they were offput by a rainbow tattoo and they were being homophobic, or what. I sound like a suburban mom, but I'm not going back again.

Got my first tattoo here on my 18th birthday as well as my tragus piercing, just an 1/2 inch cross on my wrist. I understand a base rate, but it was overpriced especially since my cross is jagged at the bottom and the widths of the two lines are different from the day I got it. I just called to inquire about getting my tragus ring changed and when I said thank you for the information, I was hung up on with not a you’re welcome, see ya, bye, or anything.

If I could give zero stars I would. Two years ago I went to get a tatto here on my foot. When greeted he only gave me his name, asked what I wanted, and how big I wanted it. He drew it up and when I asked him to change it to how I wanted it he walked off and quickly came back. He showed us his table, when I asked to see it he seemed irritated. I tried to make small talk with him but he didn't care to talk. He let me know when we were done and said he does free touch ups and handed me his card and walked out. He didnt leave me with any after care instructions or anything. I didnt care to come back to him so I left his card. It cost $150 for my foot tattoo. When my husband asked for a good artist for a cover up they told us Gabe Garcia at Tattoo You is who we should see. When we got there I asked him for some aftercare I instructions. And when he asked where I went and my experience, he seemed irritated and said he would have only charged me $75 and apologized for my experience. I am writing this review now because I am about to go get another tattoo, and I know for sure it won't be at Iron Tiger! I wouldn't have even minded how much it cost if the experience would have been better!

Not having a lot of tattoos and some of my choices in the past for my tattoos has made me very hesitate and cautious to have any more work done. When I was referred to Dan Ryan that all changed, he was very patient and listened to my requests. He took the time to draw up different options for a lengthy rib cage piece that I had wanted. I was then able to discuss with him and we proceeded to set an appointment time. While getting my rib cage done he made me feel comfortable and the time passed quickly. I love that he stands behind his work, I'm proud to say Dan Ryan is my all time tattoo artist!

Iron Tiger is Columbia’s finest tattoo shop. The atmosphere is amazing here. The shop is comfortable and uniquely decorated. The staff is professional and extremely helpful. I came here after my husband had two half sleeves and a back piece done here(by Gabe). I came in and had my back done over the summer 2011. Everyone I have encountered here treated me with respect and integrity. I had scheduled appointments with Gabe (owner) always on time and made sure I was comfortable through my whole experience. I allowed him design my back piece, and his creative abilities blew my mind; it is truly gorgeous. He took into account my body type and keeping the tattoo very feminine yet fierce looking. After the entire tattoo was done we were invited to the customer appreciation parties that Iron Tiger throws and we have grown to love the entire shop and all of it’s staff. Since then I have had two piercings and Randy was awesome! Thank you, thank you, thank you Iron Tiger, you embody everything a local business should in Mid-MO. Keep on keepin’ on!

Prices are way too high. $50 minimum for ANY tattoo, regardless of size or simplicity. Piercing price is ridiculous. $40. I know a LOT of places that will pierce for $20 or less. One guy was friendly, and the others just seemed rude or like they didn't know or want to deal with people. Bad customer service. Very bad.

The guy was so aggressive with the needle that i almost passed out. I have other tattoos that i didn't get from there and they NEVER hurt this badly! a lot of the ink came out, it got infected and kept splitting open, and it hurt soo bad while healing. i told the guy on the phone (when they would answer the phone) that it got infected and he argued with me that it didn't get infected even though he didn't see it. i joke that it's a prison tattoo now because it's sooo horrible. i could go back in and get it fixed but i'm genuinely afraid to. people also can't believe how much they charged me for it. I would never go back there. he kept trying to change my tattoo from what i wanted because apparently what i wanted didn't suit him.
