I really recommend going to this place, I got my nose pierced for the first time and i was really nervous. Sadly i didn’t get their names but the woman at the front desk was really helpful at telling me it was going to be okay. The girl who pierced my nose was really careful and made it quick and painless. it’s a little expensive BUT totally worth it. i’m definitely going back!
Very good piercing experience, but be sure to go at a time when it is not busy because it is a first-come first-serve sort of thing so you could end up waiting a whiiillleee. Although the waiting area is very nice and the environment and staff are friendly and welcoming!
Really expensive. But thourough work.
Extremely unprofessional. Worst place to go. Full of 18 years old getting tattoo.Terrible customer service Please save the money you would of wasted here and go ANYwhere else!
I went to Stingray last week to get my nostril pierced and did not have a great experience. I subsequently reviewed the establishment on google and yelp. To my surprise, I received a response from Scott, the owner of Stingray apologizing and an offer to remedy the incident. He suggested that I reach out to Kristina, who is an experienced piercer, but I was still very weary. After speaking to someone at work, I was reassured I’d be in great hands with Kristina. After calling her this afternoon, I decided to give Stingray another try and I was so pleased with my experience. Kristina was absolutely phenomenal and so professional. I am appreciative that Scott and Kristina were so responsive and attentive. I am very happy with my piercing, but far more impressed with the customer service that I received. Five stars across the board!
I have gotten 5 tattoos from Bosco Layne he is amazing! 5 stars all day. So sad that he left to Colorado (if you are ever there you need to get a tat from him). As distraught as I was Bosco left he introduced me to his colleague Mat Park. This guy is UNREAL!!!!! The sickest line work, steadiest hands and the most amazing drawings. Such a PRO!!!! You need to get a tat from Mat!!! especially American traditional this guy is an absolute legend. I have nothing but good things to say about Mat park and stingray!! You will not be disappointed!!
Great work!
Got my first tattoo with Aaron here. He was a great guy and made my friend and I feel comfortable.
Got my nose pierced. was a bit pricey and there was little information given about aftercare and their hygiene procedures. the piercer was incredibly nice and comforting. offers a student discount which is nice!
Got my nose pierced there and it was amazing. Very clean. The minimum for tattoos is $100 which is not mentioned on their site, and they have walk-in tattoos on Saturdays.
Myself and my friend received helix cartilage piercings. Between the two of us, we received three piercings, all three were done wrong and ended up facing very strange directions - in the end it resulted in infections for both of us, having to get them removed (start from 0 again), and one of our ears has permanent cartilage damage. Really disappointing.
Professional, creative and flexible
The worst tattoo experience I've had or heard of. My artist, Matt, was rude to me and seemed as though he was hurrying through my tattoo. Didn't make me feel like I could give any extra input about the design and location of my tattoo. Never asked me how I was doing and rushed through the process, making it hurt a lot more than it should have. Gave minimal advice on how I should take care of my tattoo, and charged $30 more than it should have been. Wouldn't let me go in and sit with my friend as she got hers because, in his words, "this is my stage." The rest of the staff here are wonderful, definitely would be a good experience with any other artist.
Daughter got her nose pierced. The guy was super sweet and friendly. All of the staff was very helpful and very nice and professional
Matt!!!! Love Matt. This is a great tat shop. Me and my husband and son got B FOR BOSTON , my husbands home town!! They are by the book here . My husband couldn't get his because of him renewing his ID.They are all funny as hell!!!! Fast, clean, not cheap but hey cheap ain't always good. If I get back to Boston I'm going here. As a matter of fact I would go to Boston just to get my ink from matttt!!!!! And the owner is cool too, Scott....i think , if I'm wrong I'm sorry...xox
My wife and I go there for evrything thing we do. Knowledgeable staff and friendly.
Top Notch piercings.
I have had two tattoos done here. They have done a great job on both. My second tattoo is a memorial tattoo on my chest and the detail in it is amazing. I knew it was going to come out great but my guy really nailed it. Very happy. Will be going back sometime this spring for another tat!! Love it. Thanks Aaron!
Knew what he was doing atmosphere pleasant I was pleasantly surprised
Looked this place up because my daughter wanted her ears pierced and reviews said they do a great job. Other option nearby for us (Claire's) was reviewed as spotty, quality (symmetry) wise. It was great (except we had to wait an hour, but I'd do it again). Woman who pierced her ears marked them first and got her approval. Really happy with experience and result.
Professional and caring!
Had great service and got an excellent old school tattoo.
Would give 0 stars if I could. I went here for my first tattoo three years ago, which was “love” on my wrist in my grandmother’s handwriting. Not only did it immediately scab the next day and proceed to heal horribly so that it is faded and smudged, but I went to another artist to touch it up and she told me that the artist that did it went too deep with the needle in some places and not deep enough in others. So now I am stuck with this tattoo that in time will need to be touched up until it becomes one big blob.
The do not specify anywhere that piercings are only offered until 8 pm or so. Also, there seems to always be a long waiting time, but no possibility to make an appointment according to their website. I really wanted to go, but it seems like they do not want me there. Bummer.
Love stingray I get all my piercings done here she makes it painless and fast even when repiercing through scar tissue.
The employees are welcoming and helpful. The owner is awesome. I don't know anyone who's had a bad experience
They do good work but they'll charge you up
Professional, punctual, clean, experienced artists who work with the clients to create art reflective of both the artist and the client. Truly quality collaboration.
Love this place. I’m a repeat customer. Always clean and friendly
I got a snug piercing here and altough the experience itself was easy and enjoyable, the people were nice and professional and the piercing itself was done well, the jewelry they put in was way to small for a snug and snug piercing always swell which meant the end beads of the jewelry was constantly falling off, I had to go to a different piercer who put in longer jewelry.
The best tatoo place!!# Thxs Aaron ur amazing!!
Really amazing experience, Gavi was brilliant.
I went to stingray today to get my tongue pierced. I was very impressed by both the atmosphere and the employees. I was helped right away and the lady at the desk was super nice. I filled out the paperwork and handed over my ID. In less than five minutes, I was sitting in the piercer's office with a new tongue ring. The prices are reasonable and the piercer was very informative and friendly. I was most amazed at how spacious and comfortable the waiting area was. I definitely cannot wait to go back!
Friendly service. I'm getting tattoo removal service and they are great so far. I'm excited for the journey ahead!
The bald headed lady was extremely rude to me and my friend
Matteo is awesome! I've had all my piercings done by him, so can't speak to any other experiences. But I've always appreciated how he talks you through the process ahead of time- what he's going to do/when, makes sure you're happy with the marking location, instructs your breathing throughout, checks in with you & is sensitize to changing positions etc. afterwards. He's genuine, professional and hygienic- my piercings have all healed nicely.
got a tattoo ive been wanting for a while and so did my bf. both tattoos turned out beautifully!
I got my septum, industrial, and navel pierced there. The staff were all nice and funny, and the piercings all came out great! Going there soon for dimple piercings!
I had a really bad experience in regards to a consultation I went for. The artist had a faint idea about the design I wanted. I waited for a month to get a consult on the price quote and the logistics of it, and when I went in, she very rudely told me that it was too intricate a design for her and that she wasn’t ‘feeling it’. Now, I respect that she has the professional experience and understanding of how a design translates into a tattoo but it was extremely disrespectful of her to disregard my wait for a month and tell me how she doesn’t want to do it anymore. There is a way of going about interacting with customers. I just feel that she lacked basic courtesy during our interaction and I’m honestly glad she didn’t do my design because I’d rather get a tattoo from someone who’s respectful towards my time, is kind and knows how to talk to people. The artist’s name is Katy, just for the record! Good luck guys!
I never give 5 stars but this place earned it. The staff is super friendly and make you feel at home. I got my first tattoo here after visiting several other tattoo shops. This one made me feel at home right away and worked with me and stayed very patient when i couldn't make up my mind. Tattoos are greatly priced. I will be back for my next tattoo sad it only goes to 5 stars way to go Devin!! I will be back!
The service here is great! Christine was amazing! She explained the entire process before my piercing and explained the pro’s and con’s of other piercings I was interested in. Very professional, personable, and thorough. I definitely recommend this place!
Extremely unprofessional. You will end up waiting months to get a tatto because the artist are extremely booked. Overpriced!!!
I got a tattoo from Katie Nowicki a few weeks ago at Stingray and I’m absolutely thrilled with the result. It was my second tattoo; it was a bit detailed and on my ribs, so I was a little apprehensive, but Katie was amazing at making sure it looked beautiful, the placement was right, and she took breaks every once in a while to make sure I wasn’t in too much pain. The tat was very reasonably priced as well! I had a great experience and I’ll definitely be returning!
Got my nose pierced here, they were so friendly and helpful. It was simple and NOT too long of a wait time considering it was pretty packed for a Tuesday afternoon. Great staff and artists !
Got piercings.. Friendly staff, not too pricey
Good great but very expensive
Friendly staff, talented artists
Such a great experience! My friend and I walked in on a Sunday evening for naval piercings. We had to wait for a bit, but none of the other places we'd checked were even able to fit us in that day, and I had a flight early the next morning. The staff were all super friendly, and the waiting area was comfortable. There was a good selection of jewelry as well, and the place was super clean. The piercer awesome! He had a great sense of humor, and the piercing was over almost before I'd even noticed it. He went over aftercare with me and my friend, and encouraged us both to come in if we had any questions at all during the healing process. I mentioned that I wasn't from the Boston area, and he asked where I lived so he could tell me about a good place nearby where I could go with any questions. I wasn't expecting him to know of anywhere in Oklahoma, but he barely missed a beat before telling me about a good shop to go to if I needed anything. Overall, I was very impressed!
Wonderful front desk people and the artist are top notch
All of my piercings (septum, rook, third lobe) that I've gotten in Boston that have NOT gotten infected, I've gotten at Stingray. The piercers here are super nice, too. The prices are really, really solid, especially compared to some of the places in Cambridge. For beginner jewelry & piercings you can expect to pay under $100 for most basic [titanium] face/ear piercings (can't speak to body piercings!). Be prepared to wait a while on the weekends, though.
Got my first piercing here with Kristina. Spent at most half an hour inside for a walk in appointment, office is comfortable and piercer was professional and understanding. Great experience, will come back here in the future if/when I get another!
Today was my second time at Stingray, and they were beyond phenomenal. I've spent a fair amount of time in body art spaces, and Stingray is among the best: the staff is friendly, approachable, and knowledgeable without being condescending. Their customer service is perfect, and Kristina is a wonder of a piercer.
5 out of 5 times they were "too busy" to assist. It's CRAZY how unprofessional they are. They will not help you if you don't have an appointment. Don't waste your time!!! Plus they charge 5x what anywhere else charges for the SAME work.
Got a piercings here super clean, no infections
Me and my friend got our very first tattoos! Aaron was awesome and was able to fit us into his schedule! Customer service was amazing and waiting area is super comfortable and the music was great! I would give 10 stars if i could! Ill be coming back again for any other tattoos and piercings!! Thank you Stingray staff for an amazing first experience!!
Kristina was an awesome piercer, very kind and professional
I will only get pierced at Stingray! The staff is amazing, well informed, and very clean. The location is pretty accessible too, right in Allston (bus route and the B line within walking distance).
Loved it, Brad was so nice!
Bradde was awesome and did a killer job! I had my nose pierced and he kept it so causal and conversational that there was no stress or pain to speak of! He also made sure I was adequately educated on everything from picking jewelry to after-care. I would definitely recommend!
Good art for good prices with good people.
Top notch. Can't wait to go back. The shop is very nice and comfortable and the staff is great. Had work done by Bosco. Very talented and professional.
They did a pretty good job my tattoo. Pretty affordable and experienced artists
Great staff
Best tattoos you can get it Boston. Super friendly staff, Devin has magic hands.
Had some piercings done by Bradde. Great service, definitely recommend.
My 16 year old daughter and I were looking to get pierced, so I decided to give this place a shot as they were the only place around that was open on a Sunday. The man at the front desk was super friendly and helpful. He even took the time to walk us over to the extensive jewelry section. I was quite pleased to see the selection and the reasonable prices. There were quite a few customers before us but the piercer, Matteo(hoping I'm spelling it right), introduced himself, asked us a few questions and took a look at our ears. He immediately told me that the piercing I wanted wouldn't be a good idea (daith) because they were too shallow and small. He offered to pierce my rook instead but I was too chicken!! My daughter went through with her piercing (tragus) and he explained everything he was doing step by step and was so gentle that my daughter did not even flinch! And trust me, she was nervous!! He gave us a packet of sea salt and printed aftercare instructions. We'll be returning in approximately 8-12 weeks so that he can switch out her post for a shorter one and by then I think I'll be ready for my piercing ;)
Not impressed. Came here to buy a nose ring and the man refused to sell me one without the piercer there (I've had my nose pierced for over 10 years and did not need it put in). After explaining myself, he still wouldn't let me buy it. Totally weird and ended up leaving and buying one on Amazon. Not impressed whatsoever.
I went in on a Sunday afternoon because a cheap piercing that I had gotten abroad was bothering me. The place was very busy, and I was told to wait about an hour to be seen by the piercer. I came back after an hour and waited just a bit longer before it was my turn, but I was happy with the accurate wait time. I didn't catch the name of the nice person who looked at my piercing, but they were so understanding and walked me through the entire process. They also made an effort to make it as painless as possible which I really appreciated. I didn't have to pay for the visit, just the $35 jewelry that I got replaced. I was told to come back whenever I had a concern. I hope their advice helps me because this was a really enjoyable experience!
Really nice artists
Best piercing/tattoo parlor I have ever been into. Excellent service and selection, my piercings went flawlessly and I will definitely be returning for my tattoo
I still look at the garbage, scarred tattoo on my ankle and am reminded of one of my worst tattooing experiences ever. Nose ring still rockin' though so there's that.
Friendly staff. Fair prices, not long wait for walk-in
I went in and got a dream catcher behind my right ear. I had Aaron as the artist and he was fabulous and so nice! I would DEFINITELY recommend this place I love it!
I would give 0 stars if I could. This was by far the worst piercing shop I have ever been to. I have 7 piercings and am quite familiar with the process of piercing, but I came here with my best friend for her first one. Not only are they extremely overpriced for no reason, they also take forever to provide a service. They only have one piercer working at a time and about five people on average waiting for that one piercer. I had to come in three separate times and wait several hours each time just because the wait was too long and they couldn't service my friend. Keep in mind the fact that we had to make the half hour commute there and back each time. We even made appointments and still had to wait several hours even though we came in early to said appointment. Every other piercing salon I have gone to has been an in and out process that takes less than forty-five minutes. Finally they pierced her after about a month of waiting and told her she had to come back in two weeks to replace her tongue piercing with shorter jewelry. We come back in two weeks and they refuse to change her piercing because they said we were mistaken-- the wait time is actually four weeks. I finally convinced her to try another place and they were able to service us that same day for about half the cost. Stingray really doesn't care if their incompetence inconveniences you because they're only in it for the money. If you cherish your time and don't want to waste it waiting on people who don't know how to properly run a piercing and tattoo shop, I beg you, don't go to Stingray.
I did my tounge piercing yesterday and the man that did it was really friendly and professional! Nice place!
Got my rook pierced by this woman (I could not find her name but she had a shaven head with tattoos all over it). A day later I noticed that the back of my ear was super swollen and starting to cause my ear to poke out. Then three days after the piercing I was in excruciating pain and had to take Advil because my piercing hurt so bad. Went back to the store and Matteo, another piercer at the shop, told me that the women had pierced it too deep and that the back of my ear should not have been swollen. They offered to pierce it again for free. I got a refund but was not able to return the jewelry. Really upset I had to go through all that time, money, and pain for nothing. That woman should not be piercing if she does not know how to do so properly.
Ive gotten two piercings done here, both by kristina and shes wonderful, and professional
The staff was incredibly rude dismissing my real gold real diamond earrings as "30 cents made in china and should be returned." I've honestly never been so disrespected in my life. It's very discriminatory for them to even accuse me of having fake earrings in my Indian culture and me physically wearing other jewelry that is real, they are definitely unskilled if they can't tell the difference between Swarovski crystals and diamonds. The girl with 3 gauges tried advising me what kind of earring belongs in a conch piercing and solely made her argument off of a stud being superior to a small hoop as the reason to reject me from getting pierced, as if I would trust anyone that looks like that. They definitely try to scam you and make you purchase they're overly priced earrings that only go up to 14k. Never going back again.
100% absolutely wonderful piercing experience. I had an idea of the industrial I wanted walking in and the piercer worked with me to make it happen. The staff was super friendly as well! Until now I have only had my lobes done. Real tame. She explained everything and ended up making it a custom pierce unique to me. It was as pain free as a piercing can be, the day after and it only aches a little. Definitely recommend this place and will go back if I find myself looking for more holes!
UPDATE #2: Got my third tattoo at Stingray last week and again, a GREAT experience. They are now my Official Go-To folks for ink. If you're thinking about getting a tattoo or piercing, please support local Allston/Brighton and stop by Stingray! Peace. UPDATE: Got my second tattoo with Stingray last week and once again, a great experience. The artists & the staff really make you feel at home. I love the tattoo! Some groovy extras at Stingray: the place is full of vintage furniture that is awesome and unique. Also, there's some really great local artwork on the walls for sale. I may go back soon to grab some art...and say hi. If you're thinking about getting some ink, pop over and check them out. Got a new tattoo on Friday the 13th. Great, great place! Friendly, helpful, and caring folks. They’re really fun as well. Will go back and would highly recommend!
My first time going to this place. It is amazing. The staff was very warm and friendly. This place is very clean and they made me feel very comfortable. The staff answered all of my questions. A very cool place to go. I will tell my family and friends. My experience with them is very high.
Friendly artists & good prices. Took my daughter for her 1st piercing as a graduation present & ended getting a tat myself. I'll be going back.
I got my nose pierced here. It was painless. Very clean place and sterile needles were used. Also, good customer service. I recommend them.
Been to this shop over 4 times in the past couple years for tattoo's. Took me a while to notice because I wasnt going nowhere else but they are over priced. They dont give any Lee way with the price. Again I think this place is over rated.
Got a walk-in tattoo here on a Saturday and had a great experience. The artists are great, and all of them have portfolios on the website. I'd recommend looking them up, calling ahead to make sure they'll be there, then doing a walk-in on a Saturday and request them. They kinda made me want more tattoos.
Alastair is amazing I love my tattoo can't wait till it's finished
The best place in Boston for any piercing need. From jewerly changes to tricky piercings, Stingray can handle it. And they're friendly as all heck to boot! Wouldn't go any where else in the area.
I did my nose piercing today, very nice people there i recommend
Amazing tattoo artists and employees. Only place i get my ink done at.
Attentive staff
The piercer (older guy) is crazy condescending. I wanted to repeirce my Monroe and he told me he could technically do it but he wouldn’t because he “aesthetically, didn’t like it (where I wanted it repierced). They also didn’t have a standard silver ball jewelry. His defense was its an “artistic preference.” Okay, a) you’re not an artist lol, sorry. B) if we’re talking about who’s the artist here, it’s me, and it’s my face and I think I will decide where I want to have a piercing in MY FACE. Like what?! You’re never going to even see my face again ?! How could possibly care that much over where I put it? Remember, there is 0 health issue here, really. It’s one thing to advise your opinion, it’s another to not do it cause you’re an arrogant dick. Long story short, I walked out. He lost money and a potential returning customer. My previous experience there as okay. 3/5 but at least the other piercer didn’t condescend my “artistic preference.” xx Mia
Didn't have a good experience there!!
Best place to get pierced! I'm on piercing 9 with them! About to go for ten!!!! Look for Mateo! He is passionate about his work. Anytime you have questions he'll follow up and make sure you look right. Also a really nice guy!
Got a tattoo there a while back. I wanted a small touch up on the tattoo and they told me 100 dollar minimum which is absurd for the small bit of line-work I need. Don't go here, go somewhere they respect you and actually care they are giving people tattoos. 100 dollars for 5 minutes of line-work doesn't sound reasonable and no way am I getting another tattoo from people that expect that.
Got my nostril piercing done here and they were professional, priced well, and I highly recommend this shop!!
I got this cute daith piercing today, I'm so happy with it ! All the employees were great and they were really careful about sterilizing everything and making sure everything was in perfectly in place and that I was comfortable. The decorations and the couches in the lobby are so nice and cozy. It was such a good experience :-)
Kate was amazing and I couldn’t be more happy with my final result. Very professional and good experience
I love this place. It's a very comfortable settings with great artists on staff. And knowledgeable receptionist
As a 60 year physician considering a tattoo for the first time (due to a chemotherapy port scar) I took 2 years to actually do it. I am glad that I talked to people and did research because many of the tattoo artists I spoke with before Ray were not as knowledgeable and interested in making sure I would like the end product.
Had great walk in service from the front desk, not so great “bedside manner” from the artist. He was, however very professional and quick and likely just doesn’t like walk in day. The place was clean and professional and cute! Plants and unique art everywhere.
I've had several piercings done at Stingray, in the past 6 months, and every one of them has been great. On one occasion, Kristina gave me two surface piercings during the same visit, and they have healed beautifully.
My friend and I went to go get our lobes and helixs pierced. We walked into a very welcoming and calm waiting room. Right away we were greeted by a lovely woman at the front desk. She helped us get all of the logistics taken care of for our piercings. After waiting a bit, we got to look at jewelry and were escorted by an employee who gave us a tour. The options were endless!! Once we picked, we waited a few minutes until they were ready to see us. The sterilization process took a good 10 minutes (we were quite happy to know how sterile the tools and jewelry would be). Soon after we got into the room where the piercings would take place. The room was clean, well lit, with lots of sanitary precautions and a biohazard needle container. We felt at ease. At last, we were ready to get pierced. Matteo walked us through the whole process from placement to sanitizing. His calm presence helped reassure us that everything would go as planned. We laid down on the comfortable surface and Matteo explained what he was going to do. We inhaled and exhaled while he inserted the needle through the desired area on our ear. After piercing he explained how to take care of our newly pierced ears, and when to come back to see him. Overall, we were very pleased with our experience at Stingray Body Art & More. The prices were as expected, the facility was clean, and the staff were very welcoming. I would highly recommend Matteo as well as this outstanding establishment to get pierced!
Aaron is a great artist! Can't wait to go back!
All of my tattoos come from here. This will continue to hold true.
very friendly and comfortable. good pricing and informative
I’ve gotten tattoos from three different artists here. All were very cool, professional and did great work!
Great customer service. $20 for ear piercings...$30 for two...
The artists and piercers are great but the vibe is really weird in there. Unlike a typical tattoo place, there’s no flash on the walls and the art that is there is not very good, poorly organized, and not related to tattooing at all. Again, great tattoo artists and piercers but the vibe is super off.
Got my septum done and redone here. Also my rook too! Both piercers were great. Wait can be a bit long, I recommend asking how long the wait is in case you are short on time. But nice place for piercings, I prefer it over pino in Inman and I also recommend Chameleon but Chameleon is crazy busier.
Great place to get pierced or tattooed! Staff is uber professional.
The staff are so friendly, knowledgeable and helpful! Would only get my piercings done here if in the Boston area!
They lie about their piercing price online. Just to get a piercing it totals to be $85. Stay away!!
Omg the place is clean.... good costumer service... the girl at the register was so nice. And the lady that pierced my nose was so nice and friendly. I don't feel a thing. . She's very good . Thanks guy's ♡
The wait was a bit much (day before a holiday) I dont blame them. It took me about 10 minutes total to get everything done. I will definitely come back again. Thank you for my new piercing!
Super friendly affordable prices comfortably when talking about what you are interested
In terms of the tattoos, I appreciated the guy who did my tattoo. He did a spectacular job and it looks great.I still love it after a year later. I recommend checking this place out if you're looking for a really cool tattoo and help on getting it. The tattoo artists really take the time to help you find the tattoo you're looking for. The piercings, on the other hand are too expensive and the jewelry is a rip-off because they claim to be real silver but are not. So if you're looking for a good pierce then I would greatly suggest looking elsewhere because my experience was not worth it for the infected ear and defective jewelry. I spent 70 dollars on a piece of jewelry that is worth nothing an now I must go to a different studio to get it redone and done right.
Matt Park at Stingray is an amazing artist! He saved me from getting a mediocre tattoo, he could have just taken the money, not bothered and done it but he knew I could do better and designed this beautiful piece just for me! It’s like he knew what I wanted before I did! I’ll definitely be going back to him for more ink. I Highly recommend going to see him! He can bring any idea you have to life trust me! 5 stars
Awesome place for tattoos, I've had 3 tattoos done by Mat they all came out great. Talented tattoo artist, KNOWS whats he's talking about.
After doing a lot of research, I chose to come to Stingray to get three ear cartilage piercings, and I'm happy I did! The waiting time was very short, and the man who pierced my ears was extremely lovely (and clearly experienced with piercings, because his face was covered in them!). It was a very clean and sterile environment, and they helped me pick out the right sizes for my earrings. I also like how their earrings just come out by pulling them apart, as opposed to other mechanisms--it made it much easier for me to switch them out. It was pretty expensive, but not more expensive than other piercing places I looked at.
No complaints here! Quick, professional Piercing. The jewelry was pricey, but that is because their stuff is high quality and safe- a responsible choice, in my book.
Went in on a whim one day and got a navel piercing with a friend. I was helped immediately and the piercer was very friendly. The only downside was that there wasn't a large selection of jewelry and it was a little pricey.
I get all my ink done here
Nice place. Confortable while you wait and nice people.
I can't speak on tattoos just yet but the piercer was fast informative and made the process easy but spending a couple hours there sometimes they get crowded. prices are reasonable
Bradde did an amazing job piercing my sister's and my nose. He was a great conversationalist and very focused on being sterile. The wait time was as expected and we picked out our jewelry then relaxed in their lounge/waiting area. I strongly recommend.
Yesterday was my first experience at this shop, from start to finish it was excellent, very relaxed and upbeat, beautiful and clean shop. I got my tongue pierced by Brad, it was quite obvious his experience and professionalism, but his personality is awesome. I personally don’t get nervous when getting pierced or tattooed but if I did have any nerves He would have completely eased them. I wish I had gotten the names of the other staff members there to give them a shout out too. Awesome experience gorgeous unique jewelry it was definitely worth the trip and travel
My only stop in town for everything relating to piercings. Great pricing, CLEAN CLEAN CLEAN, the piercers are PROS.
Friendly staff. Lots of lollipops to lick and couches to sit.
Bosco is incredible! Have had multiple 3-hour sessions and his work is truly beautiful! Many more sessions to come!
Very talented people
Me and my friends showed up after calling to inquire about availability to get piercings. When we showed up, we found out that the piercing artist had just decided to leave early and there's nothing they can do. Very upsetting since we took a pricy taxi to get there. Definitely would not give this establishment another try.
Looks like it would be good if they would actually serve you. I tried to go 3 times and failed all times. Ended up going to almonda body piercing and they were wonderful! The first time I went I got there around 8:45 and was told they were "closed" even though it was very clearly on the door and online they close at 10 and all the employees were just sitting inside. When I convinced them to open the door to ask if there were other options I was told they were the only shop in the area (blatantly not true there's literally another parlor a block down the street). The next time I tried to call ahead but it just rang so I decide to go ahead. This time I at least got in but was told they weren't taking any more piercings because there was a line. This was at 7 so I'm not sure how freakin long that line must have been to occupy them for 3 hours. The woman at the counter told me to call ahead and make an appointment next time which I later found out they do not do. (She also asked if the last time I came was during the snowstorm and I wanted to say yes, I, a college student, with no transportation of my own came to your shop when your own employee couldn't make it in...) The third time I was in the area and tried to call to make an appointment was rudely told they don't do that and gave up on this establishment. Like I said at the start, if you can get them to serve you they seem like they'd be very clean and great.
Waaaaay Overpriced $79 for a nose piercing!! Came in and had to wait hr and a half so I left and came back. Only to wait another half hr THEN when it was my turn she said she didn't even sterilize my ring. So I had to wait another 15 minutes and let another person go ahead of me. Just horrible and they didn't apologize for the inconvenience. The jewelry is more then the actual piercing. 25$ & up for jewelry when in reality you can buy a ring for 10 bucks or go to almoda piercing and get the same service including the ring for 30$. This is my second time piercing my nose and I regret not going back to almoda because I had a better experience and no wait time. I wouldn't even recommend there tattoos because there overpriced too. If I could give less then a one star I would, Save your money and do your research on other shops!!!!
I had two pieces done together here by Alastair. I was uneasy because it was in an attempt to encorporate a HUGE quote I got on my bicep. I told Alastair what I wanted but I had no idea how to get it done. He took to the idea and came up with a scenery sketch that was what I had in mind. He courteously explained to me the limitations on tattooing- JUST because you want something doesn't mean it will fit or look good and he was kind enough to explain to me why certain things wouldn't look good over a period of time. I sat with him in two different sessions for a total period of about 8 hours. He used unbelievably vibrant colors in my piece and turned my front side arm into a sun set with the back side into a night scene with a zombie ambling in the midst with a bottle of JD. He was kind and funny, really relaxing and super mindful of my pain limitations. The staff was great. Understand that when you want a tattoo of professional quality, YOU WILL BE SPENDING MONEY. Over a total of about 600 dollars I'm very happy with my piece. The front end was totally up to date with my appointments and reminded me when I had them. The hundred dollar deposit is a great idea. Don't go to Stingray if you're expecting some 10 minutes tattoo for 50 bucks. It's professional quality. The staff there EVEN comped me a bottle of aftercare spray for a piercing done at a nother parlor because she was in shock of how misinformed I was on aftercare. (Septum piercing). This place rocks. I recommend to everyone who understands the concept of true tattooing.
Great Place - Highly recommend! Staff is very pleasant and the person who did the piercing was superb ! Will definitely go back if need piercing or tattoo
The piercing attendant was knowledgeable and good at calming down any nervous clients, and the staff are friendly and funny. Definitely go here for all of your piercing needs!
I've gone to stingray three times for a piercing and each time I've gone, the hospitality and information about after care is PHENOMENAL. They'll help almost anyone who walks through the door get the best out of their piercing or help rectify issues that other piercer's stores have made. So much information is at your disposal and while it might seem like a lengthy process, it's because they care so much about each client. Kristina is an amazing piercer and even though I've moved from the state, I will always come back for new piercings. I can not recommend this place enough to people. Whether it's your first piercing or your 20th, they take care of you.
amazin shop, staff is super friendly. just came back from getting my septum pierced and it was quick, easy, and mostly painless lol. definitely would reccomend if youre in the area.
Easily the best place I've been to for both tattoos and piercings. the staff is super friendly, they're knowledgeable, and the office is extremely clean. They're pricing is great, and I'd recommend Alastair personally, as his tattoo work is fantastic. If you're anywhere near Allston/Brighton and want body art done, this is *the* place to go, hands down.
Awesome
Compare to some place, this very good work and lovely setting. Their prices are way too much, I rather troop it to Brockton
A mite expensive but very friendly environment. The manager, Chris, is a great guy.
Have gone here a few times to get piercings and tattoos. Went there today was told 10mins for jewelry to be cleaned. Piercing artist commenced with speaking with a potential client for well over 10 minutes. I informed staff that I would come back at another time. Staff person kindly went to check with the piercing artist and could not even get a word in with her because she was engrossed in a conversation. While I appreciate the staff for trying to assist me with getting pierced, the piercing artist should have been respectful of my time. As I went to drive off, I see the person who she ignored me for leaving Sting Ray. I have never experienced this at Sting Ray and have received multiple piercings and tattoos there. I hope this is not the new norm.
I had a double helix and septum piercing done in one go. Matteo was very friendly, quick and professional, and the piercings just felt like a little pinch, and then nothing. The cartilage piercings stopped hurting after the first day, and they haven't even swelled, which is great. I am VERY careful about aftercare though, so that helped. The only issue I had was that the captive bead ring that he used on my septum was too tight, and was digging into the front of my nose and causing me a lot of pain. It actually bruised the front of my nose because it was so tight. I called Stingray, however, and they said that I should come in ASAP and they'd simply switch it to a larger size. Unfortunately, I was traveling and wouldn't be back in the area, so I had to go to another piercing shop to get it done. I'm grateful that Stingray was so willing to fix it immediately for me, though. Even though I had the issue with the septum, Stingray was very responsive and willing to fix the mistake immediately, so I'm still giving them a good rating. Matteo seems very experienced, and the piercings themselves were done very well, it was just the size of the ring on my septum that was wrong, but that was a quick fix. In the future, I'm planning on coming back for a few more ear piercings and maybe a tattoo eventually
Christina was a great piercer, however, I feel as though prices were not totally transparent. When I asked for a specific type of jewelry that wasn’t in the case, I was told it would be around $80. Come to find out, upon completion of my piercing and paying the bill, I was charged well over $200 (it was $86 each stud instead of for both). I would have chosen an alternative option had I known...I wish total pricing could’ve been presented prior to service.
Great job and good service
Couldn’t get a piercer to stay a couple minutes after 8:30 when the shop closes at 9 for me to replace a ball from my earring that was placed there for me by then 24 hours prior. I had an emergency and said I could get there in time but they didn’t even care. I’ve gotten all of my piercings done there, but I won’t be back for more after this experience. It’s not fault that the ball was misplaced and not tighten properly...I’ve been raving about this place to my friends, but they couldn’t help me fix the ball that they placed in my ear JUST a day before. Such a shame.
I highly recommend this shop. I went this Morning to have my hood pierced. From Beginning to end Brad, my piercer made me feel comfortable and right at home. He took his time to explain the procedure and was very patient with me. I appreciated both his professionalism and knowledge. The actual procedure itself was quick which was great the sting lasted for only a few seconds and it was over. I have gone about my day like normal and feel minimal discomfort. If you're looking for a place to trust this is it. Super clean, friendly and knowledgable. This was my first time here but I will definitely be back.
Really great experience here. My partner got their first piercings and everyone was so helpful, understanding, and respectful. The piercings (triple forward helix) look amazing! I'm so glad they were able to make their first experience a good one.
The staff is so super friendly I would keep going back there and would recommend them to my friends and family
I've been coming here for years...I love this place. its clean...professional and a great atmosphere. I love the staff!!
The place looks awsome and as soon as you come in your helped right away. I went to get a piercing and I was nervous but the piercer was great and fast. I enjoyed the experience and I will definitely go back in the near feature!
Great service. First piercing went very smoothly!
ive gotten a few piercings done by them and they're super professional. very helpful
Went for piercing! Service was amazing and super quick. Jen at reception is SO sweet, energetic, and helpful. Pretty standard selection of jewelry though, and okay prices. actual piercing by brad was super quick and easy. Shop itself is actually really cozy, cute, and welcoming - not what I expected from a tattoo shop in sketchy end of Harvard ave haha! Solid place and solid people :)
I went to Stingray with by girlfriend that wanted a piercing, and wound up setting up an appointment for my first tattoo. I got an immediate consultation with Bosco, and we discuseed what I would like. I emailed him some photos and he drew up exactly what I wanted within about 15 minutes. Bosco did a great job, and the estimate was very fair for the quality of work.
I came in to get a helix piercing today and after I filled out paperwork, a really nice woman helped me pick out jewelry based on where I was piercing my ear. After I picked out a stud, we had to wait about 30 minutes before they could pierce my ear due to how many people were there but they kept everything very organized and they have lollipops, beverages, and games to keep you occupied while you wait. Also, it was very clean and everything is sterilized!! When I went in to the piercing room, Kristina was really great. She explained everything while she did it which really helped me stay calm and she was super quick, I didn’t feel a thing. Then, she thoroughly explained how to care for my piercing and I was out in no time. Overall, everyone was super nice and it was just a really great experience.
just went to them today they are amazing. It has a nice vibe , great music , comfortable chairs and most of all great customer service the guy who gave me my piercing was amazing so nice and made the experience so comfortable definitely will go back. do I recommend? 100%❤️
