I got the tired and true crab with Maryland flag tattoo. Looks just the way the one they showed that I liked. Tre was good artist, this being my first tattoo I felt like it went well. He was good conversation too which took some of the nervousness from the process. If (when) I get another, I won't shop around I'll just be headed to Red Canary!

Best tattoo shop around Rick Toms and his associates are the best around Rick is very talented and very quick grate at cover ups flash custom pieces and whatever your needing his wife Andrea is a very talented and pleasant piercers around a awesome artists stop by or call to make your appointment the can get very busy and book up fast but very great about getting you scheduled in a timely manner.

Their Coustomerservice service was great but unfortunately was not able to get tattoos because they only take cash when in the past they took credit cards as well and their page doesn’t mention payment methods. And they have 2 signs in their shop one says cash only and the other says cash preferred.

I have wanted my tattoo (a portrait of the Michael Myers mask from the movie Halloween) for quite some time... and I won't lie, I'm a very VERY picky person when it comes to tattoos. Therefore, it took me 3 years to find someone that I trust whole-heartedly to finally make my arm complete. Mr. Rick Toms of Red Canary Tattoo made it happen. While covering an absolutely terrible tattoo from past mistakes he created a complete masterpiece. I have never been happier with an artist and his work. Now... hurry up short-sleeve weather so I can show off this badass piece of work to the world! Thanks again Rick. You're an awesome dude with some extreme talent hidden up your sleeve. Went for the Cuddles Cat Rescue flash event and was so happy. Usually at flash events it seems like the artists are rushed and don't take as much time and attention needed but as this event all the artists were careful precise and professional. My tattoo healed perfectly with no bleeding or issues and i absolutely love it. I have been back multiple times and suggest it to all my friends looking for great traditional tattoos

Rick took great care of my sibling and i, and we both walked out with gorgeous tattoos for an incredibly reasonable price. There's tons of great, creative American Traditional flash, but the artists are thrilled to work with your design to transform it into real art. The shop is clean and spacious, though there's no handicapped accessible entrance. But as far as quality of work, service, and cleanliness, Red Canary is a hidden gem compared to the higher profile shops south in Frederick.

I came for the summer flash event and I just had to go to the doctor and both of my tattoos are infected. They're afraid I have Staph or MRSA and I now I need antibiotics. I am a tattoo veteran, I have award winning artwork on my body, I know how to care for my ink. They said that it's nothing I've done wrong, that there's no way the tattooist used clean equipment. The staff there was very friendly and professional. We told them what we wanted, and it turned out better than I imagined I got a small outline of a heart on my foot. So did my mom & daughter. However, We were told one price over the phone, yet we had to pay $75.00 for each of us. I know that's way too much money for a tiny heart outline (in black)
