Getting my cartilage pierced here was a great experience! My friend and I had appointments an hour apart and the girl at the front desk—Corina—was super nice and friendly. She was eager to answer our questions and she talked with us for a long time because we had gotten there early. The actual piercing experience was great as well. Missy was so nice and explained everything clearly and patiently when we had questions. She took great care of us when we were very visibly nervous and helped us feel more at ease while she pierced our ears. I honestly don’t understand how this place has any negative reviews. Everyone was so nice and I didn’t feel nervous like I usually do when getting a piercing. If I ever consider getting another piercing, it will definitely be at this place. I took advantage of it for a minor bit of missed color. Fixed me right up within a couple minutes. No problems. Super clean, very professional. She listened to our concept and designed a great tattoo for us. The shop is the prettiest shop in Maryland. By far the coolest tattoo shop I’ve been to. Extremely clean professional and the staff are all very nice. I got a sleeve done by Declan Sweeney, who is an amazing artist. I had 3 full day sessions (8 hours) scheduled to complete my sleeve. Every time one of their staff members comes around and asks if they can order you food. That’s such a cool thing to offer a costumer. I highly recommend Black Lotus! I will be coming back for all my future tattoos.

Lil’ Dan did a watercolor tattoo on my forearms a few years ago. I had some writing I had wanted but also wanted color because I’m so pale I like the contrast of color. He took the writing that was my Mum’s handwriting and got it perfect. Then adding watercolor to both backgrounds made it look like a painting. She loved it and I still love it. When I returned for my appointment I was able to pick out the perfect pieces for my piercings with the help of the experienced team there. I can't say enough about how impressed I am with Blakc Lotus. The shop is clean, spacious, and something worth visiting on it's own right with all the artwork that's on display. Everyone is friendly and professional. "Raising the standard" is their slogan and you can definitely feel their efforts every time you visit. I came to Black Lotus to have a Japanese sleeve done by Declan and the results are more than I could have hoped for. I've been to a lot of tattoo shops around the country and certainly will in the future as I continue on my tattoo journey but Black Lotus has quickly become my go to shop for any work I'm going to want in the future. Blown away. First of all you can spend hours in here just checking out the art on the walls! It is better than some museums I have been to. The place is immaculate. Super cool guys, they’re serious about their work. If you’re looking for something cheap, don’t bother. If you’re looking for good work then they’re worth it. I had a half sleeve done here and over time it just wasn’t sitting with me the best. I mentioned this to them and they got me back in right away to touch it up, now it’s exactly how I wanted it. Shop is super clean and super comfortable.

Love the shop! From the time I entered the shop, I was in complete amazement of how classy and interesting the experience was just walking into the shop! From wall to wall, there was something really cool or totally unexpected to see. I recently had an appointment with Inky McStapleface to cover up two less-than-great tattoos. The consult was thorough and collaborative, and she did amazing work! Inky has a gentle touch and great skills; as far as tattooing experiences go, this was one of my most positive *and* least painful. Beyond that, the shop itself is absolutely gorgeous, everyone is friendly and helpful, and I love that they use quieter rotary machines (my previous experiences were with much louder ones, which I was informed are called coil machines). I will definitely be returning for future pieces!

I came into Black Lotus with my friend as a walk in for matching tattoos while I was in town. We got set up for an appointment with Declan for the same day!! Unheard of, so we were stoked. Once we came back for our appointment everything was done in such a timely manner, the staff were all great and super welcoming. Declan is AMAZING!! Super kind, very meticulous, we brought him in a design and he tweaked it and made it completely perfect. We both loved our finished products! I live out of town but I definitely plan on booking with him for when I’m back in the area. Definitely above 5 stars, and I did NOT just do this for the free shirt or because he was cute.

I just got my first tattoo here! First class experience. Easy, inviting, and a warm vibe. I have been eyeing up this tattoo studio for years now and just waiting for the perfect idea to line up with the perfect artist and that happened to be this summer when I discovered Kirsten. All of the artists there have a dynamic range of talents that make for an impressive team... when I thought about my idea, two stag beetles, I thought Kirsten's work would really suit the idea I had-- great illustration style, which was EXACTLY what I was going for. I noticed she has some really cool geometric elements in some of her nature pieces and thought the juxtaposition of a simple shape against the beetles would frame them well, and she came up with a few different styles for me to choose from and all of them were so delightful that it was almost a challenge in itself. The experience itself was really relaxed: fun music, fun people and you can tell everyone here really vibes well with eachother which made it extra warm and friendly feeling! Kirsten answered anything questions I had and lots of questions I wouldn't have known to ask. I felt so comfortable and in my element while I was sitting there. I would 100% recommend Black Lotus (and Kirsten!) to anyone who is weighing different options or in their first stages of research.

I have yet to be tattooed by an artist in this shop but i can say every one is this shop is awesome and very welcoming one day i will get a tattoo by one of any of the artist that work for black lotus .... also if you into just regular art like paintings to hang on your wall come check out black lotus’s art gallery and if you a nerd this is the shop for you the bathroom in the front is Harry Potter themed and the bathroom in the tattoo area is game of thrones theme they even have a cut out of Tyrion with the cross bow in front of the toilet.... also i have been to two event this shop has held last year and this year halo and crew go all out to make sure everyone had a good time !!
